Styles not working in 5.1

Since the new Pages 5.1 when I apply a style set up with bullets or font changes and apply these to text, the style does not include anything expect (and this is not all the time) the font and size.
Anyone got any ideas? This was a magic feature of the previous version of Pages before Maverick. Working through a large doc you could just click the style you had set up and the change was automatic. Now I do this for a bullet and there is no bullet in the style despite being there when it was made!!!!

Lightroom 3 Print Moduel Layout Style not working??

Hi all,
With no change in Lightroom, all of a sudden I have issues with the "picture package" and "custom package" settings within the layout styles in the print module.
For instance, if you are in "single image/contact sheet" and you have an image selected and on screen, then when you change to either "picture package" or "custom package" what should happen is that the image is then refected in the new picture package present. This does not happen at all.
I can not even choose a present (which should work), or drag an image onto the page. It seems that "picture package" and "custom package" are simply not working at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
computer 1 is an imac using 10.6.8, and computer 2 is a slightly older imac using 10.5.8
PS. it is now happening on both our computers which are on a network??

Paragraph styles not working in pages 5.0

I upgraded pages to the newer version 5.0 and the documents that I had on my old version lost all the paragraph styles I had created. I also tried to create new paragraph styles with numeral lists and bullets and this is not working *(not applying format). The old version worked very good doing that. Do any one have had this issue? Can it be a bug? I will appreciate your input. Thanks

Paragraph styles can no longer include list numbering.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder, use that.

Text Link Styles not working in Footer Section

I have a master page with a footer that has three columns of navigation text links inside.
In order to match my design I have created a customer text link style for these links.
However when I preview my site (in muse and browsers) the roll over effect (should show an underline) doesn't work.
I've searched the forums and found that someone else had a similar problem and it was down to them having a paragraph and character style stacked on top of one another. However I have checked this on my links and this is not the case.
NOTE: I have already successfully managed to create a similar style that resides in a side bar navigation panel in some of the sites internal pages and these link styles are working fine.
So, I'm not sure if the file has become corrupt or if I'm missing something that I've done wrong?
One question I have is at which point to you apply the text link style?
1. By clicking on the line of text to select it?
OR
2. By clicking further into the text box; as if you were editing it, then selecting all of the characters in the word you want to make a link. With the word selected, click on the style name in the Character Panel to apply it?
OR
3. as with the above example, once you have selected all of the characters in the word you want to make a link. Click on the Hyperlink drop down arrow (from the main toolbar) and choose the style name you wish to apply, from the drop down box 'Text Link Style'
NOTE:
I'm running version v2.3, Build 50, CL 771675
AIR Runtime: 3.5.0.600
UPDATE:
I couldn't wait any longer, so I just deleted the text boxes and styles and re-created them both and they seem to work now. Lot of additional work though that I'd rather have not had to do.

Header border style not working in firefox....

In my skin i have declare for header text (sortable)

in IE border is comming correctly, but in firefox border is not comming for header.
why ?? is there any error on my style?? or it is not working in firefox/safari??

CS4 extended Layer styles not working

Running CS4 extended on Vista64, Corei7 quad @2.9 GHz, 8 Gig Ram and nVidia quadro FX 1700. I can not get layer styles to work in documents that originated in CS3 extended. If I start a new document they work.
Any thoughts?

Well, I ended up copying all of the layers from the old PSD to a CS4 psd and it worked. Since it is a web page it had a lot of layers and it was a major pain in the hooey... but it did work.

Character Styles Not Working

Hello all,
Never have I been as exasperated with a piece of software as
I am with RH 7. I've sworn by Adobe products before but this has
been a tremendous letdown. Grumbling out of the way, I need to ask
for some help.
I've been able to define and apply paragraph styles
successfully for FM books that I'm importing into RH. I did that
according to the direction given by the online presentation
provided by Adobe (that is, I've defined everything in the
fmstyles.css with a dummy file, etc.).
The problem is that my character style of bold, defined and
properly mapped, is not being rendered in the output. What is
behind this? Could someone provide some insight?
I dumped variables, because I found they were being converted
into bullets. I don't see conditional text working and the
auto-numbering is a joke...I don't believe there's a single person
out there that's able to get it to work without manipulating the FM
files or working the HTML files in RH.
I don't want to solve all these problems. I've spent too much
time as it is trying to get some kind of usable output.
I just want to know why I can't rely on the character style
I've defined.

Just to add one thing here, which I find even more
perplexing. I am using the dummy file and have applied the
fmstyles.css to it. I understand see that Paragraph Styles are
applied correctly in the rest of the topic (the rest of the FM book
files).
If my Paragraph Styles are working, then I have to assume I
am correctly defining in fmstyles.css and correctly mapping from FM
to RH. Strangely, when I copy and paste text from one of those FM
book files into the dummy file, my Character Styles appear
correctly.
What am I missing?? Why does my Character Style work in the
dummy file but not in the rest of the book/topic?
Any help would be appreciated...

Update Styles not working, select all uses of style missing

Two more things tha I use often are missing from 5.0.
1. If you want to select all uses of a heading and then change attributes, it seems that you cannot.
2 When a style appears with a asterisk it means there is an override and you have the option to click on Update Style. Doesn't work.
Okay, so three useful things absent in 5.0 and they bugged me in the first 10 minutes (counting the missing Outline View). Otherwise it looks like a fabulous and simplified update.
One of th best additions is that Comments now track between the Desktop and iPad. Yayee! I don't have to use foot notes any more.

I would like to see "select all uses of style" make a comeback. That was an easy way to delete things quickly.
For #1, you can change attributes for one instance of the heading and then update the style. This will apply the changes to all instances of the heading. Which leads to...

XFCE Styles not working.

I have the latest updates for my installation and XFCE4 and XFWM4. I can change the window theme, but when I go to settings > appearance > styles and click on any of the styles they do not work. Neither does changing the font on the font tab.
I have uninstalled xfce, and everything to do with it, manually deleted all the config files, and reinstalled it, and I still get the same result. I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now.
I've done hours of searching and have tried so much, and nothing has worked.

If I take only the button:armed property, it works well (but defining -fx-color instead of -fx-background-color looks nicer).
If I take all your definitions, it no longer work.
If I take out the .button:focused out of the CSS, it works again. Looks like there is a conflict between armed and focused (because an armed button is also focused?). Not sure how to manage this conflict... I see that caspian defines focused as a background color, and armed as a simple color.

Copy/Paste Style not working consistently in iOS Pages

I cannot figure out what is going on with iOS Pages Copy/Paste Styles.
Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. I copy a style, and then select the text I want to paste the style to, and the 'paste style" option doesn't appear. It's as if no style was copied in the first place. Tried multiple times with the same result.
Also, it is not really clear to me WHAT is included in iOS Pages styles. It appears the font and size is included, but not the color. Not sure about other elements (line spacing, etc.). Is this described completely someplace?

Why is the a:visited style not working?

Hello. I have created a horizontal menu and would like the a:visited text and background colors to be the reverse of a:link. The a:link and the a:hover work well. But when I make the a: visited color and background color different from a:link, all of the links text turn black and the background turns white for all of them. The links were not cicked on. But when a link was clicked on, a thin border of the text color appears around the box surrounding the link that was clicked on. I would appreciate knowing how to correct this. You have to clear your browser history/cache or all of the links you have visited in the past (while previewing) will show as the visited style which is a white background and black text.

Blend modes in "stroke"-layer styles not working ?

Hi. Anybody else got problems with the the blend modes in the "stroke" layer style, or am I doing something wrong?
right click on layer > blending options > stroke > blend mode
(position=inside)
I want to use "fill type"="gradient", but the blend modes do not even work with "fill type"=color. For both fill modes, the stroke does not let any pixels of the layer shine through, no matter what blend mode I choose.
I often use blend modes, for example "darken", etc. I know how they work, but somehow for the stroke layer style it seems not to work at all.
I know, it's pretty basic, but I have spent several hours on that and simply don't succeed. Thanks for any help.

Font Styles not working

Very strange. I'm encountering all sorts of buggy behavior with regard to font styling, even in the most elementary forms.
For example, if I hit command-B to turn on bold (Rich Text is set in preferences for messages), or if I select this from the Style menu, or if I use the font browser, nothing happens. No bold. Same with underlining and italics.
I've tried deleting the com.apple.mail.plist; I've tried rebuilding databases of mailboxes; I've tried starting Mail in safe mode. None of the above works.
I'm out of ideas. Help!

But in LP01 u wont face any probelms...
