  • Stock display with Alternate unit of measure

    Hi All,
is there any report in SAP, which displays the warehouse stock with Alternate Unit of measure. I did try in MB52. It was showing only in BUM. Please help ASAP.
    Ayesha

    Hello Ayesha,
We had the same requirement. So we copied MB52 to ZMB52 and added a new selection for the AUM. Additional coding was also done for the UoM conversion.
    Cheers !

  • Issue with Alternate unit of measure

Here in my production client which creating a material in April they have created with Base unit of measure = G and alternate unit of measure = EA
! EA = 60G....But actually they should have maintain 1 EA = 50g....Lot of docs got posted from April onwards...
Movement types posted were 641,561, 562,101,102,601,653
Now is there any possiblity to rectify it????

Basically you need to correct your material master and then adjust the quantity with a physical inventory as Manoj already suggested.
However, you should at least check each movement related to sales  like the 641, 601 and 653 movements if it was done in the alternative unit or in the base unit . MB51 can give you this info in the detailed report.
you then have to analyze if you billed too much or too less to your customer.
This should then be rectified before you adjust your inventory, because you may get even more problems with posting if you get a  customer complaint or a return which need to be posted with the old incorrect conversion ratio. Otherwise you may have to adjust your inventory a second time after such event ocurs.

  • Maintain Multiple Sale Unit of Measure

    Dear all,
How can we maintain multiple sale unit of measure for a particular material in single sales area.  Meaning different sales orders can have different unit of measure for the same material in the same sales area.
    Regards and Thanks,

Check (MM02) Material Master - Additional Data button in menu bar - Unit of Measurement Tab
    OR
Scenario: - BP buys ItemA in Kg and sells in Gr. (Refer SAP Note 883504 - Different UoM for the same Item)
    1. Define ItemA with kg as the unit of measure in the Purchasing Data tab - and Gr as the sales unit of measure in Sales Data tab. Enter items per purchase unit as 1000 and the items per sales unit as 1.
    2. Generate an AP invoice with a quantity of 1, the items per purchase unit is 1000 so 1000 items enter the stock.
    3. Generate an AR invoice with a quantity of 1, the items per purchase unit is 1 so the stock of the item is reduced by a quantity of 1 gram.
There is no way to indicate that the stock has been reduced by 1000kg which is equal to 1 gram.
    Workaround:
    1. Duplicate ItemA as Purchase Item (UoM=Kg) and Sales Item (UoM=Gr) - This means that you will have 2 items, ItemA1 and ItemA2
    OR
    2. Generate ItemA (both Sales and Purchase Item) by configuring UoM and Price according to the smallest UoM and perform every transaction by keeping this UoM
NB: Do not forget to define UoM in Administration - System Initialization - General Settings - Display tab - Default Weight Unit

  • ME51N : how to deal with different units of measure as defined in MM01?

    Hi Folk,
Could you please help me ?
Some of our materials booked in stock are purchased by our purchasing department in Europe but as well by our purchasing department in US.
The base unit of measure of those materials are defined with KG (kilogram) in the masterdata file (MM01).
Why this is not allowed to enter a purchase requisition (ME51N) with other unit of measure than KG?  My purchasing department in US is not able to work with kilogram and thus they need to enter the requisition with US units of measure (pounds).
However when we create purchase orders, we can play with other units of measure.
Does someone can explain to me how to create a PR with a unit of measure different from the default one?  Or could you share your experience to bypass this issue.  Note that we really would like to have the same material number both for Europe and US (with different plants and storage locations).
    Thank you very much!
    François.

  • Create Characteristic with multiple units of measure

    Hello Friends,
I want to create characteristic (CT04) which has multiple units of measure.  At present  a  Characteristic is created with a single unit of Measure. I have to create characeristic and assign it in MIC. MIC specifications are customer dependent. Customer may give specifications in different unit of measure. While creating sales order, I am entering the specifications for characteristics, as material is created with varient.
I am creating Single Characteristic multiple times for different Unit of Measure and assigning it to the class.
Therefore according to the Customer requirment and his specifed Unit of Measure, that Characteristic is choosen having same UoM as of Customer.
Insead of doing this, Is it possible to assign multiple units of measure to single characteristic?
    Waitng for reply!

    Hi,
With Multiple Unit Of measures, I don't think its possible.
You can Use CHAR for characteristics, to Use.
Instead for Fixed Units. Let Marketing/sales Enter the req.
But you shall make it Multiple Selection, Since you can use them in Selection Condition.
    Hope this is Useful.

  • BOM with alternate unit of measure

    Hello team
Is it possible to create the BOM with alternate unit of measure ?
    Thanks
    JJ

    Hi,
Not possible to create BOM by item material with alt unit of measure.
If you want to use other UOM in production, use issue unit in work scheduling view.
If you want to procure use order unit in purchasing view.
For selling use sale unit in sales view.

  • Create STO with order unit of measure

    Hello,
Is there a way to create Plant to plant STO with ordering unit of measure? Based on our customization we are not able to use Unit of issue from supplying plant and we also cant have base unit of measure in the STO.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks!

    Hi,
Please refer the KBA:  1980679 - Why the field 'Unit of Issue' of the supplying plant is taken in STO?  which explains the standard design. The unit of issue in the supplying plant has the highest priority in case of intra company STO and there is no configuration option to change it as of my knowledge. If you need to alter the standard behavior, you may check the feasibility of development. You may check the BAdI: ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST

  • Sales Unit of Measure?

    Hi,
as far as I can tell, Netpoint synchs not the Sales Unit of Measure (oitm.SalUnitMsr) but the quantity Per Packaging Unit (oitm.SalPackUn) when you do an Item sync, this figure then appears as the item's "# Per Package" in Netpoint.
    Is this correct?
If so, is there any way to force Netpoint to sync the Sales Unit of Measure (I can do my own method via synch plugin but it would be nice if there was some way without that)
    Thanks!

    Hi Corbin,
    I figured as much.
What I am doing instead is running an SP on my SAP Server by way of a sync plugin that updates a table on the Netpoint server, and then looking up the UOM for the Partno when the PartDetails.aspx page is loaded.
    Roundabout, but works.
Still it would definently be nice to be able to choose from a dropdown in the next version, which field from SAP you wanted to map to any field in Netpoint - that way it would be very flexible.

  • Adjusting the behavior of sales unit of measure on sales order

    Hello Everyone,
I have a question regarding adjusting the behavior of sales unit of measure (UOM) on sales order (SO).
We maintain 3 UOM on material master u2013 A, B, C; where A is base UOM and C is sales UOM.
If we change the material on existing sales order in VA02, system also always changes the UOM on SO to C as well because C is sales UOM on material master. Sometimes SO quantities are in A or B UOM and we do not want system to change them to C when material is updated.
We know it is a standard SAP behavior and the question is if it can be adjusted somehow (in configuration or some other way), so system is not changing the UOM on existing SO to sales UOM when material is updated.
PS if we leave sales unit of measure field in material master blank, when material on SO is changed system is still changing the UOM, now to the base UOM A
    Thank you!
    Alex

ANSWER: According to SAP there is no way to change the behavior without taking the risk of breaking a lot of stuff.

  • How to Report on Alternate Unit of Measure

    Hi All,
We recently implemented SAP for our Canadian operations. The Canadians want to see all our custom and standard reports in Alternate units of measure ( KG's & Ltr's ) but our reports only display in Lbs & Gal's. We were able to change our custom reports but is there any setting that SAP provides for the standard reports/transactions to display Alt UoM. We don't want to rush in and start changing standard reports. I'm sure, lot of you faced this situation before.

What UOM's are we talking about?
Are you talking about ppm vs. %? Or ppm vs. ppb?
SAP can make some of these conversion automatically.  I encourage clients to standardize what their lab people report on in inspection lots.  I.e. they should always record ppm or always record % in the inspection lots.
In the certificates you can use the certificate profile to change the UOM actually reported on the COA to the customer. So you can record by ppm in the lab, but in the cert for the characteristic, you indicate that it should be reported in %.  The system will automatically make this conversion for you.
If you are talking somethign like screens, I recommend doing all in the lab as either thru or on and doing calculated characterisitcs to calculate the opposite for those customers that want thru instead of on, or vice versa.
