Substitution Management - Profile description

Hi,
creating a substitution rule via UWL standard is working fine. But what I need to know is how can I customize the "Create substitution rule" view?
When I have poped up that view I can choose between different profiles (default ALL, disciplinary...). If I choose "All" an description text for the profile appears under the drop down box (default for profile ALL: "The nominee is the substitute for all tasks")
Now I want to change the description text - is it possible?
Can I setup description text also for the other profiles?

We have requested Dev to chek the same got to know that,Yes, when tried with CUSTOM_MODE=FORCE, it is working fine.
But they are insisting on how the other Langs got updated and why it would not update for US alone.
Just check the Profile from FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS about the profile details and found below.

For some reason the TL got lastupdate_date and 09-NOV-12 and the same is not reflecting in FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS.

ICC profile description is invalid

I loaded PSE 8 on my Dell M1530 running Vista. Whenever I try to start PS8 I get "could not initialize Photoshop because the ICC profile description is invalid" and the program quits. I've tried removing and reinstalling PSE8 and it still errors. Any idea what I can do?

There are three steps in installing a color profile in Windows. First they have to be in your system32 (or syswow whatever\spool\drivers\color folder. Then as you have done you run the install. But then you have to register the profile for the device type (display\printer\etc.).
I think placing the color space profiles has already been covered in another reply.
You have already reset preferences so PSE has rebuilt its cache of scripts and resources.
Switch the default monitor profile in Win color management applet to another to another one just to see if that solves your problem. PSE doesn't offer a choice of display profile so I imagine it uses your set default.
Also there are two profile version types. Version 4 trips uup some applications especially for printing. Version 2 should be used for displays and works best for printers as well.

In each you'll see the complete version number. In one of those two you have to switch thefile type to .icm or .icc. The other shows both.

No customizing data found for content management profile

Dear All,
When we configured a business role for our call center agent, we copied existing out-of-box role and assigned to user's local own data. When the CRM Web UI was called, the window popped up fine, but there was an error message:
No customizing data found for content management profile
Can anybody advise why this error comes? I checked the content management profile in our system. There are 3 profiles there but I am not sure if any of them is linked to the nav bar profile we defined. Where to define it? How to remove this error message?

Hi Leon,
To start with you need to check the details of the Business Role. Goto SPRO>CRM>Business Role-->Define Business Roles
Select your Business Role and click on details, You can check if Role config key, Nav Bar profile, layout profile, Technical profile and PFCG Role ID is properly assigned.
Once you assign the above profiles to business role you then assign Position like for e.g. Sales rep and Employee to the org model in PPOSA_CRM. Then select the position and goto menu bar and click on Goto>Detailed Object>Enchanced object description. Select Business role in the Infotype name and click in create infotype. Assign your business role.
Check logging in after performing the above step. If it doesnt work assign the parameter ID - CRM_UI_FRAME and parameter value - X in the tcode SU01 for the user in CRM. Also assign SAP_ALL role just to make sure if it works.

Hi all
I am testing a publication with profiles. In my profile I can add my universe. But here is 1 field for the Class Name and Variable Name.
the class name would be the folder in my universe while the Variable is the object in this folder. How can I combined 2 folders or values?
Having a folder called Names and a subfolder called Firstnames with some Values inside. Names,Firstnames or Names;Firstnames ? Can't find a good description about how to use this stuff really.

Thanks for the reply Adnan, however I think you missed the point. There is no capability to edit the properties, there's no dropdown to select edit form, in any of those areas against any of the properties. I can see them but not edit them.
It must be a permissions problem but I've no idea where it may lie.
Here's how the UPS and Mysites were built:
Created a separate user for the UPS account (UserUPS), and registered it as a Managed Service account.
Added Replicating Directory Changes to the Farm account.
Started the User Profile Service.
Created the UPS application using the UserUPS account for the application pool.
Configured the Directory Import - used SharePoint Active Directory Import.
Created a new Synchronization connection using the Farm account - it worked.
Ran the synchronization - it worked, everything was import.
Went into Manage Profile Service, Under People click on Manage User Profiles, entered a users name, clicked on it when it appeared - nothing, no edit capabilities at all.
So at a loss as to where I've gone wrong?
Ran Add-SPAdmin - it added the Farm account to the configuration db, and when I tried it against the Profile database it complained, basically saying not possible,
I'm out of ideas at the minute and need to get this working so we can use SharePoint to hold a Skills map.

Windows Connection Manager Profile Installer Has Stopped Working

Hi all, I thank all who can help me with this problem beforehand and will do so after.
I am an IT technician at a university in South Africa. I am trying to install a custom made VPN program that works perfectly on every other machine but not this one laptop.
It is a Lenovo G580 laptop running Windows 7. Every time I try to install the VPN i get the error message that Microsoft Connection Manager Profile Installer has stopped working.
I have made sure all the updates are installed.
I have done disk check.
I have done System File Check.
I have done Windows Repair.
I have coppied the cmstp.exe and ole32.dll files from one windows to the problem computer.
I have taken permission of both the above mentioned files.
I have done anti-virus scans and anti-malware scans.
I have tested that other applications(not VPN's) install correctly.
I have tested that the VPN installed correctly on other computers and pulled a new one to make sure the application was not corrupted.

Generally speaking, this error can be caused by one or several of the below factors:
a. The dll file is deleted accidentally from your system
b. The dll file is damaged due to virus or spyware infection
c. improper software removal
d. The dll file was overwritten by an incompatible version.
e. Outdated hardware drivers
f. Too many invalid/obsolete registry entries.
g. Related registry entries is corrupted.
I would like to suggest you try the following steps to check the results:
a. Do a system restore to undo recent system changes. If the error is just caused by the file getting corrupted or damaged, performing a system restore would help you to get a fresh copy back and also fix the related error well at the same time.
b. Update the drivers for hardware devices and install any available Windows updates.
c. Test in a new user account. If it works, please refer to Fix a corrupted user profile.

If the individual troubleshooting advice above is unsuccessful, performing a startup repair or repair installation should restore all Windows DLL files to their working versions.

Profile description is not visible from Application which the LDT file has.

Experts,
I am running into strange issue.
Dev created a LDT file for a profile and requested to upload it through a one-off patch.
The profile got updated into the DB for all the 3 languages - US, KO and AR.
However the description is not visible for US when tried to verify from the Forms.
Further analysis gave a tip that the description is NULL only for US and exists for other 2 Langs (KO and AR).

Also identified the Last Updated By is from FND User - "PROCESS_OPS"

What could be the reason behind this change?
Why the profile description only for US Lang is not getting updated whereas for other languages it got updated by FND User - "ORACLE12.2.0"?
It clearly shows on 09-Nov-12 there were some changes happened and that to by User_ID 122 which updated for KO and AR.
For some reason the same was not applied for US Lang.

Authorization profile description

hi experts,
In tcode su01, we have authorization profile and its description for a user.
I have a report in which authorization profile has been displayed. I need the <b>authorization profile description</b> next to it. I found the field PTEXT in table USR11 has got the description. However i dont have any relation (key) between USR11 and (usr01, 03, 04). Kindly suggest me some idea to get the description.

Managing Profile Pictures

Is it possible to manage profile pictures through SKYPE Manager? I want to make sure that all accounts have a consistent picture, being the company logo. Thanks.

If Apple can't/won't add back that functionality, it will be very hard on anyone whose needs are not simply on/off, default configuration... I'm currently using v5.6.1, but how long will that work as time & firmware move forward?

Remote Management profile disappears on reboot.

Yosemite Server. Yosemite iMac and MBP were updated using Net Install from the server. MBP's that were not set up using Net Install do not have issues.
mdm_profile.mobileconfig and other profiles delete upon reboot. Trust Profile are placed on computer. Enrolled computers through myserver/mydevices to place mdm_profile.mobileconfig on each computer. Other profiles will be pushed to each computer successfully. After reboot they disappear. I had System Preferences open and one by one they were deleted.
It appears to have something to do with the Net Install, due to the fact that they are the only computers that this occurs on. Any ideas?

It is possible. I just ran into this myself. The key is in understanding the difference between Supervised and unsupervised devices. Only supervised devices can be locked to an organizations profile manager. Devices are considered supervised when they are purchased by a company with a business account and account manager from apple.
If the device is supervised there are now additional settings you can adjust. You can also create device groups. Any device purchased from apple without a business account, or from anywhere else, is considered to be an unsupervised device. You can still add it to profile manager and control a lot, but the end user will be able to remove the Management Profile, and thereby all other profiles rolled out on the device or user level.
When you purchase from the apple business store, your account manager will set up a list of the devices.
You log into the Apple Deployment site and enter your order number.
All your new devices are auto ported into your profile manager.
At that point you can set them to device groups
set device groups settings
then when turn them on they will force you to login, register, etc etc.
After that you can layer on device and/or user profiles on top of your group profile.

Symantec...... If you have anything Norton on your Mac, chances are better than not there is your problem.
1st The Firewall that comes native to Mac OSX and the Unix Operating System is one of the best.
Norton Products have shown to be very disruptive to Mac Systems, Period.
When you mention you disable Norton Firewall and all is well then it just bears out that Norton is your problem.
I think your problem will go away when everything Norton is gone.

Keyboard shortcuts for Power Manager Profiles?

is it possible to set up keyboard shortcuts to switch between Power manager profiles? I have several set up in Lenovo Power Manager, and often want to switch between them without having to open the Power manager app every time. It would be good to switch between a "Maximum Performance" and "Maximum Battery Life" with keyboard shortcuts.

I too am looking for this.
Workaround:
Create a shortcut to C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkPad\Utilities\PWMOSDV.EXE somewhere, and then edit the shortcut properties to add a key combination, lite CTRL+ALT+4.
This will open up a profile selector.

Manage Profile Services - Unable to edit User Properties or User Profiles

SharePoint 2013 - fresh site, with Mysites, and the User Profile Service running. The UPS is ran under a separate account, and the farm account has securityAdmin rights and directory replication rights.
When I enter Manage User Properties, I get a complete list of properties but no way to edit them, the same happens when I go into User Profile Properties, there is no where to edit the users. Has anyone seen this before and if so what step have I missed
in setting the UPS and MySites Up.
Both Administrator and Farm Admin have Administrator rights to the UPS Application, and it's the Profile User Service that's running at the minute not the Profile User Synchronization Service.
Any help would be appreciated.

OD replica - managed profile settings

I have two ML servers, one is set as the OD mater and the second as the replica. The replica 'sees' the users and groups in the master, so all seems well.
But what settings should I have for the managed profiles (ML clients)?
Currently, I have the client computers with a managed profile that has both servers under the Directory setting, and all usesr with a managed profile that serves only the master as the LDAP server.
I'm not sure whether I should serve the Directory and LDAP to the computers or the users, and whether they should be served both servers or only the master.
Also, for the LDAP is is OK to have the search base as dc=ldapserver,dc=company,dc=com, or do I need to stipulate user base as well?

Glenn, as always please read the manuals, but from my understanding if your clients are running 10.3.9 and 10.4.x, you will only need the OD master configured in Directory Access. Once the client is booted it will get info on replica's, thus if your master is down it will already have info on the replica(s) and login, permissions, etc will continue to work as they did before.
The second question "downgrading the master to standalone", not sure why you would want to do that unless you have some major problems with the file system, etc. If you must destroy the master make sure you promote the replica ASAP. After fixing the original "master" you can then re-promote it and make the original "replica" a replica again.

Course Manager Profile Error

I'm trying to create an iTunesU account in the Course Manager as an independent instructor (my college does not have an iTunesU account). I get an error every time I try to create the profile. I've resized the picture to be exactly 300x300 pixels; I've also tried 350x350 pixels and 600x600 pixels. I do not have any extensions in Safari or Firefox and get the same error on both browsers. I'm running OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.7.

I solved my own problem. I was trying to create a Course Manager profile using an Apple ID with @gmail.com. I have another Apple ID with @me.com and that worked no problem. Go figure. Hope this helps someone.
