Suddenly getting duplicate characters when entering / editing an event. How do I download a "fresh" version of iCal?

Running OS X Yosemite, latest version. Have used iCal for years. Suddenly, every keystroke is duplicated on the screen. For example, in a new event if I type Meet, I get MMeeeett. Figured I should download a fresh version of iCal. Checked the App Store....no luck. Any idea where I can download a fresh version of iCal?

I'm guessing you really mean Calendar.app, right? Is it only in Calendar that you are getting repeating characters? Did you recently spill anything on the keyboard? Do you have another keyboard you could try to see if also has the problem? What kind of keyboard is it (make & model)? If it's a third party keyboard is there separate software that needs updating to go along with your Yosemite update? Maybe try giving it a good cleaning with a can of compressed air and blow out any small particles that might have fallen in between the keys? Is it one of the newer membrane type keyboards or one of the old-style with real keys?
Anyway could you try this in a terminal window:
     cd /Applications/Calendar.app/Contents
     ls -la *
     sum MacOS/Calendar
On my Yosemite system (10.10.1) I get for the checksum
     44982 3435 MacOS/Calendar
What do you get? from both the above commands?
Also what do you have your key repeat rate set at right now? Look in the Keyboard System Preferences panel and it's located in the top left part of the pane.

It would help to have more information, but try this: Quit the editor, then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift (command+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

Strange TableView problem when entering editing mode.

I'm having a problem when entering editing mode in a tableview. What happens is the cell data from the section below is being displayed on top of the last cell in the current section.
The narrower cell, with the plus sign on the left side, is briefly visible before (a copy of) the cell from below covers it up.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'm really stumped here.
More info, or how my table isn't standard: Each of the three sections is populated from a list. If the user has previously deleted one of the items from the section, only then is the plus sign shown. Otherwise, only the delete sign is shown. In other words, if there isn't anything to add, then the plus sign with the associated ...add a new X is not shown. This all works correctly. The counters work. The lists of previously deleted items are populated correctly.
What doesn't work is the last row of the second section being covered by a copy (at full width) of the first row from the third section. The first and third sections both look correct. phew, I hope this makes sense.

OK, after more digging I answered my own question.
The problem was the section order for added and deleting rows in setEditing. I was setting the indexPathForRow in section 2, then, 1, then 0. If I do the update in order 0, 1, then 2 it works fine in 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2.

After updating to ios 5, my calendar sometimes freezes when entering a new event. I have tried syncing but it doesn't fix the problem. Are there any bug fixes for this? Any ideas would be great thanks, I don't really want to have to reset everything!

Try to reset the iPod by pressing the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

In the normal course of events, you can update by just running the iTunesSetup.exe. No special precautions need to be taken (beyond those you usually take with an update, or just in general, like maintaining a current backup).

Fonts are getting clipped when in edit mode. How can this be remedied?

I'm using InDesign for layout. I Export... the layout as a PDF… when I edit text boxes within Acrobat, characters along the left edge are suddenly clipped.
The text is fine until I attempt to edit the lines of copy. For instance, the leading edge of a “J” gets trimmed off as soon as the box is selected for editing.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I keep getting duplicate photos when downloading from my card reader.

In my PSE11 Camera and Card Reader preferences I have checked "Copy new files only". Yet whenever I download a camera card that still contains photos that were previously downloaded, I end up with duplicate photos in PSE11.
I prefer to leave my photos on the camera card as a "backup" in case of a hard drive crash or other loss of data on the computer. Once the card is full I archive it.
Why do I get duplicates even though this setting makes it clear that I should not? It is very annoying having to look through my photo collection and manually delete dozens or hundreds of duplicate photos.

If you do not get a reply within three to five business days, report the issue to Apple here > Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support
Apple's policy states, "all sales are final" > TUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE -TERMS AND CONDITIONS but if you explain the error and you haven't received areply from the developer, it can't hurt to request a refund.
You're sure there's enough free space on the startup disk?

Ever since I upgraded my iMac to Yosemite, when I sync my iPhone with my iMac and iPhoto. I get duplicate pictures in my iPhoto. I have to go in and manually delete the duplicates. Does anyone know why? Is there a setting that I can adjust so that I don't get the duplicates?

How do I unstick the hour when entering a new event?

Suddenly, when I enter a new event, I cannot change the hour from the default 1:00. I can change the minutes but not the hour. Any ideas on how to solve this on my IMac?

Repeat the plist removal which I specified in my first post, then open System Preferences...>Lanuguage & Text>Formats>Region: and set/re-set the appropriate region.
You can delete any/all of the plist files which were moved to your Desktop. The plist file could be trashed immediately, but it may not have been the problem, and dragging it to the Desktop allows replacement if that is the case.
