I love the feature to pin as app tab on my toolbar. When I first began using this feature, after about a month the toolbar would drop all my apps. I would have to re-add as I used the websites again. Some of my sites I would add because I didn't use them enough to remember them all the time and this was a big help from having to search for a sight all over again. Am I doing something to cause these apps to be dropped? It seems to be happening more frequently now, like every couple weeks. It is annoying to have to keep going back and pinning these sites as app all over again.

Let me tell you a little more of the puzzle which I should have added originally!
I have about 60 podcasts. So I want to group those podcasts that I need to download everyday into one "collection" - then at the begiining of the day, I look at the "Every Day" collection of podcasts and then manually down load them. This way I do not have to look at the other 40 podcasts which are weekly or Monthly podcasts.
Your script idea will help me with another problem I have (tks!) but I dont think it wil help with this problem!
I really want to assign something at the "header" level - ie the actual podcast name, rather than the individual daily or weekly or monthly podcasts which is how your script works.
I think I have found a possible fix by assigning a code (ie "weekly") in the "Composer" field of the podcast and then showing "Composer" in the column browser and then selecting all the weekly ones etc etc.
I will test this!

Hi, my trial version of Lightroom 5 has recently expired and I have now fully bought it. I have uploaded the CD onto my Mac, but when I open the Lightroom application again, it still says the trial has expired. Does anybody know how I can update it so I can finally use it again? Joanne please remove your current installation of Photoshop Lightroom using the uninstallers located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
You will then want to download Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1 from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh. The update contains the entire application. Photoshop Lightroom can not be installed through the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application and still be licensed with a serial number. -
I have had my mac book pro for about a year and a half and suddenly my dvd player will not play DVDs and i can not play alot of things on full screen. Does anybody know how i can fix this?
This could be several things, but let's get the obvious ones out of the way, first:
1. Judging from your text, there's no problem with anything stuck in the mechanism; it's more an issue of no being to put in a disk. In other words, you're sure that there isn't a disk stuck in your MBP. (That happens a lot for all computers.)
2. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, and repair the disk. This should take under 10 minutes.
3. Perform the procedure outlined here:

itunes asked me if iwanted to erase all my files on my iphone when i connected it to my second computer.

and all of my very important voice memos were deleted
however none of my photos were deleted...... and they count as files don't they?

PLEASE HELP!!!You should never try to sync your phone with more than one computer or you will lose your data. The pictures were not deleted because the sync process does not touch Camera Roll pictures (it only includes them during the backup step of the sync process).
If you had these voice memos on your phone when you last synced it to your first computer, and if you haven't synced to this computer since then, you could restore from the backup created during your last sync. This will replace the data on your phone with the data from this older backup so anything new will be lost. If you think that is the case, do not sync your phone again to the first computer prior to restoring from this backup or you will overwrite it and the backup will be lost. Instead, prior to connecting your phone to your first computer, open iTunes and disable automatic syncing by going to iTunes Preferences and on the Devices tab checking "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone and when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on its name and select Restore From Backup and choose your last backup (containing your voice memos).
If you didn't have these voice memos on your phone when you last synced to your first computer, or if you have synced again to your first computer since losing your data, then your voice memos and other data are lost. -
anyone have the same problems? I noticed I can't download anything either. And the app store was missing too but my friend some how downloaded one to my phone. There is no Fcetime icon on any iphone. You turn it on in settings. Select a contact and scroll down to the facetime button in order to make a facetime call.
You cannot delete or add the app store.
It was likely on another page, in a folder or you have restrictions set.
Don't know what "can't download anything " means. -

I get an error message saying "please check your network settings and try again". My 1 skype account works but I need to run 2 skype accounts at the same time, 1 for a client and my own personal account.

A year ago I brought a 1 TB hard drive (My Passport), I have not used it for over 4 months and now when I use the USB cord to connect it to my mac, it does not register the hard drive. Does anyone know why this is happening?
The beeps could be caused by something as simple as a loose internal wire or connection. If it is under warranty (not sure how long that is, as WD drives range from 1 to 5 years depending on the model's series - I think "my passport" drives are 3 years) you could contact WD and ask them about it.
If it is out of warranty, you could also try opening the case and check the connections - the drive may be fine, and there have been posts on TomsHardware forums of people getting the beeps, opening up the case and the drive is fine, just some wire worked loose. -

If you have no backups, and data has been lost, then it's lost forever. The rest of your data will inevitably follow if you don't back up.

Where is the Apple problem? I have CS4 and CS5 running perfectly fine on my Macbook Pro. Installed 5 after Lion upgrade. Worth every cent. Adobe did have some catching up to do with Lion but with the CS5.5 update all runs fine. But not yours. So it is a problem with the Lion OS? You say you have been with Adobe since 2005. So you would be aware of all the other issues that Adobe had catching up with past Oss in Mac and Windows then. They get it right, but it is up to them. It is not up to Apple, nor Microsoft for that matter, to run around and check that every software developer in the world is running their business properly.
And what has politics got to do with anything. Some people just have to blame Software for their poor Hardware maintainence of failure of the same.

Does anyone know how to display (in LabVIEW) the memory use during execution of an image and data acquisition VI to predict when it is time to cease the acquisition to prevent the program crashing?
I am acquiring images and data to a buffer on the edge of the while loop, and am finding that the crashing of the program is unpredictable, but almost always due to a memory saturation when the buffers gets too big.
I have attached the VI.

My MacBook Pro is really hot and the fan is on constantly. It didn't use to do this, does anyone know why this is happening? I have a very short battery life, so I have to keep it plugged in probably more than I should.
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.

Can i get help on how I can successfully install the new google voice video chat software. I keep having an install error. My google voice phone always worked until a week ago when suddenly google would not let me call out from any browser until I installed their new google voice and video chat (made by vidyo) software. I was told by genius bar to install Yosemite, which I did. But that did not solve the problem. I removed macKeeper, as well, since a techie friend told me that could be the cause. Nothing so far has worked. When the problem first happened, it seemed to only happen in Chrome. Google voice calling out worked fine in safari, for about a day or so. Now I cannot call out from any browser. I can, however receive calls, and make calls within the video hangout.
