Suddenly unable to get new users IP's (Probably DHCP issue)

Hi,
I just took over the support for a small business and while fixing a "roaming profiles" issue I realized that new computers (clients) were not able to get new IP Address or they don't have internet.
I have verified the physical connections and the obvious: (Server has internet, rebooted machine, restarted DHCP Service) but I didn't get proper documentation about the server.
I think it's a Gateway and from the DNS I see it has all Secondary zones set up.
The connected clients don't have any issue anymore.
How can I verify if DHCP is running fine?
Why would the server suddenly stop allowing new IPs?
I have to figure this out by tomorrow so anything you need I'll be following very closely all posts.

Native Mail app unable to get new mail after updating to iOS 5.0.1

Just after I installed 5.0.1 (OTA) I've noticed that native ios mail client is unable to get new mail messages anymore. I have three seperate mail accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud) connected to my iPad2 and none of them works after this software update. All I get is three seperate error messages (Cannot Get Mail) one after another for each account, same kinda of messages as you get once you try to open your Mail app with no internet connection, but this time it's not an issue as my iPad is connected to my home WiFi which is working just fine.
I've tried to restart my device, checked mail settings, made sure all the passwords are ok by typing them once again for all the accounts and I managed to get confirmation that they're ok with no difficulties using the same device.
All other apps that uses internet connection seems to be working with no problems as well.

Once I got new mail messages to each mailbox it seems that everything got back to normal.

Unable to get Windows User Name using Oracle Forms 6i, Jinitiator 1.3.1.17

Requirement: Get Windows User Name using Oracle Web Forms 6i.
Tools Using: Windows NT, Oracle web forms 6i, Oracle 10g DB.
Description: I am using GetClientInfo JBean from otn.oracle.com, which gets windows user name, IP address and machine name. The demo I got from oracle web site uses Jinitiator version 1.1.7.18. While we are using the latest version Jinitiator 1.3.1.17. Due to this reason, I am unable to use Javakey which comes with older version but doesn't come with newer version, that's why I can't create the new JavaBean Java identity (PJC).
Please advise what to do. All environment variables are set everything is done, this is the only thing bothering me.
I went through the article 202768.1 from metalink, but on step 5, it gives an error keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Input not an X.509 Certificate.
Also, please let me know if there is any other workaround for this requirement.

Thanks for your kind reply. Actually there was a problem in creating a certificate, now it is okay with the same method. Certificate got imported on client and everything is ready.
Now, the problem is when I try to set Bean Area Implementation Class property with oracle.forms.demos.GetClientInfo, it gives an error FRM-13008 Cannot find JavaBean with name 'oracle.forms.demos.GetClientInfo'.
I went through the articles 1072329.6, 196824.1, and set ClassPath and Path variables with proper values. Also, I have copied jar file and signature file in forms60/java folder. I don't see any problems. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. My limitation is that I have to do all this in forms6i.
I searched forums on metalink and found out that someone installed Patch 15, and everything went okay for him. Do you think I should install Patch 15? if YES, how will I do it, I mean should I first uninstall my forms and then install patch15 or install the patch on my forms?

Unable to create new user on Win 8.1

I have a new laptop running Win 8.1 pro. Using my 'main' account everything is good and the laptop is connected to the internet.
I try to create a new user for my daughter by selecting "change pc settings" from the charms bar, then new account. I enter the email address for my daughter's existing microsoft account - one that works fine when used to login on a different win8.1
laptop.
When I try to login on the new laptop using the new account I get the message "The user profile service failed the sign-in" On checking the event log I can see the following sequence of warnings / errors:

I shall suggest you to go through a System Restore.
Select any restore point when there was no such issue.

Unable to create new user thru Portal

Hi,
I am unable to create user from the oracle portal web page under the Administer tab.
I have logged in as user PORTAL30 which has DBA rights.
When I click the Create new user link, it generates an error page WWC-00000.
Would appreciate if any can help me out urgently.

Thanks for the solution. It worked fine after changing servername to lowercase.
The servername was set in in httpd.conf by the 9iAS installer itself. I would like to express that Oracle should have checked before launching or should have listed it in the release notes.

Downloaded v.21 but don't get new user interface

I have downloaded the newest version multiple times. I want the new user interface, but my browser will not convert to the new user interface. I'm not sure if there is an option somewhere that will fix this issue, or what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

Initiall SharePoint Server 2013 setup -- unable to manage new User Profile Service Application

During initial farm setup, creating an initial User Profile Service Application works fine. However, once it's created, I cannot 'manage' it through the Manage Service Applications page in central
admin.
I get a generic error (Sorry, something went wrong / unexpected error) with a correlation ID that doesn't seem to match any ULS log entries. (Yes, I merged logs from all machines in the farm.)
A Windows event log entry says:

I also found it interesting that the event log error shows 1 active endpoint and 3 failed endpoints. I have 2 WFEs and 2 app servers. But I'm only trying to get the user profile service app running on the application
servers. I have deleted and recreated this service app several times under various names (deleted/recreated its app pool as well) and wonder if these other failed endpoints could be orphans from previous instances...
Any thoughts on how I might successfully create this service application? I've already been Binging my head against a wall long enough that I would have been better off reinstalling the entire farm... I may still
do that.
FYI, my farm came from a slipstreamed SP1 install package, and received the July CU after several other things were already configured, including the already-failed UP service application.

Thanks for the suggestion. I performed the service restarts, and then an iisreset an the two web servers, and the application server that does not run the services. Finally, I ran iisreset on the application server that does run the services.
After performing those steps, I still cannot manage the user profile service application.
ULS log at the time of the attempt contains User Profile Application Proxy errors (in my original post) and am also noticing the following error:

i new to portal and i m facing problem in ess and user creation ...
1 .) my ess is showing the following error

What has happened?

Unable to create new user when logged as SYS or SYSTEM user. Oracle 11g

Hello I installed oracle 11g databse. The installation went OK.
But when I tried to create a new user or alter an existing I always got "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges".
However I was able to alter SYS user when I was loged in as SYS or SYSTEM user when I was loged in as SYSTEM.
I am also able to create new tables, drop tables, query tables, create and drop synonyms and all other things except manipulate with users;
Can anybody tell me where could be the problem?

I have checked the roles DBA, RESOURCE..(I am sorry byt I dont know what is role CREATE). SYS user has all these roles with admin option and default checked.
I am using oracle Enterprise manager, but I dont know where should I click on the red mark? Where can I find it?

Had to create new user to fix mobileme sync issue, can I use time machine?

I had to create a new user for myself. I want to associate the new username with time machine backups
that I currently have, and not start from scratch of course.
1. Will using time machine at this point:
1.1 create new backups?
1.2 delete whats on the disk and then create new backups?
Last time something like this happened (I dont remember the details) I lost all my backups.
At this point I d like to be able to use the current backups with my new username and not lose any data/backups.

No. Time Machine will never delete anything from your system. But it will, eventually, delete it's copies of things that no longer exist on your system.
At this point I d like to be able to use the current backups with my new username and not lose any data/backups.
That's going to be difficult, since OSX in general (and Time Machine in particular) think those two accounts are for two different people, and neither should have much access to the others' files.
Why did you have to create a new account?
Is the old account still on your Mac?
Assuming the old account is still there, your best bet may be to sign on as the old account and grant permission to your files to the new account; then sign on as the new account and copy them. But until you're sure you don't need anything from the backups, don't delete the old account, so you can use it to restore anything you need.

Unable to get Portal User in a Remote DB

Hello,
We are developing an application with Portal on Instance A and the application tables on Instance B. We have DB triggers on the application tables in B and would like to capture the Portal USER using wwctx_api.get_user. Have created a DB link and PUBLIC SYNONYM in B to access the package in A. However, when we call the function in B, we get the following error -
ORA-00164: autonomous transaction disallowed within distributed transaction.
Has anyone tried something similar?

Hi,
If you submit your form to a procedure in the portal instance you can get the portal user inside of this procedure.
you can then send this value to the table in the other instance.

I'm suddenly unable to get my email. Trupled checked my address and password entry to confirm correct. What to do????Am I forced to reset my password or worse yet change my email address?????

Suddenly I can't get my email. My email address or password ( can't tell which) is inexplicably no longer accepted --I triple checked it for correctness. What can I do? Can i avoid having to chg my password and/or email address???? BTW, this is happening on all devices --iphone 5 , imac, macbook pro.

Who is your email provider? Do you have two-step verification set up with this account? If so, you will have to read up on how to set it up on a mobile device with this feature implemented, or turn this feature off.

Unable to get new Apps after purchasing iPod Touch app update

I know this is a frequent topic but I can't help but feel my situation is a little different to others I've read.
After purchasing the app update the new apps failed to appear. I also had a USB port problem at the time that prevent a correct sync - after switching ports everything is fine again - except for the new apps.
On each subsequent sync itunes attempts to sync the new apps but instead I get :
"Unknown error occurred 0xE8000001"
The only problem is the apps though, any new music, podcasts, movies etc are synced without a problem.
From reading other posts on similar topics I have seen (and tried) the following :
Do a restore - tried more times than I can count.
Make sure you are running up to date iTunes and iPod software - done and done - 7.6 and 1.1.3.
Try a different USB port - I have 8 USB 2.0 ports available (4 sets of 2) none have helped. Neither did my powered USB2 hub. Neither does unplugging everything but the mouse and keyboard. The ports work fine for everything else; mouse, keyboard, gaming claw, ext hard drive (with the exception of the bad one).
Switch off manual management and resync - no help.
Uncheck the checked items only option - no help.
Out of desparation I tried to restore and buy the update again on my MacBookPro but the iTunes store prevented the purchase as I already had it.
I have read that when this error occurs it generally seems to be related to USB power but in those cases it usually means the iPod is not being recognised by iTunes - and I am not having that problem.
Any suggestions anyone can provide would be most appreciated.

I managed to fix this one out by copy the app enabling file (iPod tiuch App Pack 4A93) to the corresponding directory (\iTunes\Mobile Applications) on the Mac and doing an 'erase and sync'.
The apps were promptly synced to the iPod and remained when I resynced on the XP machine.
I noticed this one got a few readers but no responses - has anyone else had the same problem? If you are, I suspect you may be able to get the same result by copying the file and syncing on another PC.

Unable to create new user using Oracle Database vault

can somebody help me to autorize user other then SYS user (e.g. system) to CREATE new and ALTER users when my database is secured by Oracle database vault with default installation settings;

Reading the DV docs would be a great place to start.
Consider, for a moment, that if the normal privileges provided to SYS using DV worked the same as they do in a regular database you wouldn't have a data vault you'd have a regular database.
After you read the docs log on and try the following:
SELECT username
FROM dba_users
WHERE username LIKE 'DV%';Aha!
