Suggestion. Application for Ringtone Profile Manag...

One of the functions that I used to use a lot on Nokia N8 Belle is the Ringtone Profile Manager. The possibility to create different profiles and scheduled them to change at a certain time of the day.
For example, I´ve created a Sleep profile with no sounds, notifications, also that puts the phone on Battery Saver mode (using Situations app) that I activated when I was going to sleep, and scheduled to end and change back to normal at 7:15 AM, just before the time I´ve set the alarm to wake up.
It was a very usefull function.

You need to understand Symbian is dead and buries and Windows Phone is not Symbian. Sure it had it's perks and had some nice/great features. It was also a pita to maintain and update. It died for good reason.
There will always be stuff in old hardware and software we like. It is what it is and times change. Apps are here to enhance what we do with our phone on a day to day basis. much can now be done using the new API and it will be far more productive to converse wih app developers who work on/have apps that approach what we like. Much of what you and other seem to want would be completely irrelevant to others and this is where the apps come in.

  • Update Application Versions in Profile Manager

When using Profile Manager I have noticed the version must match on an application both on the Server and the Client when using the Restrictions Payloads setting. We utilize the Restrictions Payload in PM to control what Applications users can open in a lab enviroment.  As an example we recently updated Office on the clients to 14.3.5 so I updated the server to 14.3.5 also.  However the PM still sees all of the Office Apps as 14.3.0 which prevents the application from launching on the client.  Similarly when I have installed a new application, like Trend Micro, the new Application does not show up in the list of Apps.
My question is this, how do you re-sync, force scan or update PM with the latest applications and versions?  I have rebooted and recycled the service without success.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Looking at the code for the /mydevices page, it appears that Server 4.0 supports all the same devices as Server 3.2.2:
    OSX (10.7 and later):
          if (majorVersion >= 10 && minorVersion >= 7) {
            osIsValid = true;
    iOS (iOS 4.1 and later):
          if (osVersion >= 4.1) {
            osIsValid = true;

  • Application for message profile in alert notification

    Dear all,
While creating message profile for alert notificaions we have application e.g. ALEN, AMON etc.
Request to please let us know the significance of these applications? And are these sap standard?
    Regards,
    mahesh.
Edited by: mahesh m on May 13, 2011 9:45 AM

    Hi Mahesh
First of all, thats a good question
You are right, these are SAP standard application ids
Currently the following business applications use the following application ids regarding alert notifications:
    u2022     SNC, SPP: ALEN
    u2022     EWM: AEWM
    u2022     APO: AMON
Different application ids mean different handling of alerts and alert notification profiles, so that they can handle their respective application like SNC SPP alerts and profiles.
In simple way SNC application screens alerts/profiles are grouped under ALEN

  • Profile Manager crashes with Application

I am having a problem with running and apple script app and was hoping someone may have a suggestion. The app works great and as expected when run by a user. It creates an alias on the user’s desktop and links it to their windows Documents folder that already exists on our network. This part I am very happy with. The code is as follws, then I export it as an application:
mount volume "smb://servername/share/" & (system attribute "USER")
set localMyDocs to quoted form of POSIX path of "/Users/" & (system attribute "USER") & "/Desktop/Documents"
    do shell script "ln -sfF " & "'/share/" & (system attribute "USER") & "/folder' " & localMyDocs
Previous experience showed that it is required to add an application to the /application folder on the server so that it will show in the application list in profile manager. This works with word, abobe CS and so on without the need for a full install.
When I add the applescript app to the servers /applications folder the profile manager website crashes when I try to add any applications:
If I remove the application from the server the error goes away and I can add applications again. This is a bit of a head scratcher, has anyone got any ideas?

10.8.4 running Server and Profile Manager.
I have a simple applescript that launches a bash script. In WGM I used to have it launch on login. Now on PM I have learned I need to put it in the server's /Applications folder.
When I try to access applications while using PM from the server, I get the same error as you. If I use a web browser on my Mac there is no error but the box stays empty (saying 'Loading Applications') with no apps in it.
Similar errors as yours show in the server's Console in either case. Ruby is crashing.
Will go looking for a script to look at...

  • Web Dynpro Abap Application for list employees of one manager?

    Hi experts!
I'm trying to find a Web Dynpro Abap application that could show the list of employees of some manager, like the Web Dynpro Java application for MSS - Training Management.
In my search's i don't find any, and i want to take sure if there wasn't any Dynpro Abap before to create a new application.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Luís Bento

    Hi Gayathri,
I just have that scenario in my mind, and certainly it's the purpose that i need to implement. However i'm tried to use only standard applications, but maybe this case  it's a exceptional case

PS: I give you some points for your answer

  • Profile Management Framework

I am developing an application in Java Swing and i have a requirement that i should be able to store some UI related User Preferences locally on client's machine. Some of these preferences could be,
    1) To store the last appearance of a table in the application( things like column width, column by which the table was sorted) and to restore the table with same look and feel.
    2) To always open the application with the module( a particular window) preferred by the user.
Well, i can always achieve this by writing tons of code. But, I was wondering if Core Java or any of its extensions provide some framework for this purpose so that i can go about my job in a seamless manner. To be more precise, I am looking for some API for UI profile management.
Any ideas/pointers are welcome. Even a reference to a 3rd Party API will be of great help !
    -Ganesh

I am trying to do something very similar to this. I recently looked into the Preferences API that comes with JDK 1.4, but we chose a JTree paradigm for our application. Basically what this means is that for most of the nodes, the right panel will display a table/grid. We plan on storing the table layout similar to what you want to do, but this has to be specific to each separate node. That will in turn be a lot of data and the preferences API is not recommended for this.
The other option is to use properties files, but the name/value pair might not be flexible enough.
Finally, we're looking into using XML. The idea being to write an XML configuration file that stores all of the prefernces information. Still need to do further research, but if I find something, will let you know. Do the same.

  • OS X Mountain Profile Manager 10.8.5 documentation

OK, I've read the online documentation for the Profile Manager and I've had it working for some time now. What I haven't found is any detailed information regarding some of the settings (i.e., Login Window or Mobility).  Without that documentation I have to apply settings, push the profile and see what happens.  If it does what I think it's supposed to do great!  Otherwise back to hunt and peck.  I expect to have to test, but more detailed descriptions would be very helpful.  I've Googled and haven't found more detailed information.
For example, if I check “Show network users” it will take a couple of minutes for the login screen to populate and you can literally scroll through the 5000+ AD accounts on our network.  Obviously not very helpful for a good sized network.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You are running OS X Lion (OS X 10.7.5), so if you want to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.2), you have to pay.
First, see if your computer is compatible > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If it's compatible, just open App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. While it's being downloaded, you should make a backup of your data with Time Machine and/or Carbon Copy Cloner into an external disk, so if the upgrade doesn't go well, you will recover your data.
Also, check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com When the download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow its steps to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion

  • I am trying to create a new profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".

    Hello,
I am trying to repair my Firefox profile, but I cannot open profile manager in Mac OS 10.5.8. When I follow the directions for opening profile manager in my Terminal utility, I get the following error: "dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap".
At this point, Firefox (v 5.0 or previous versions), is not running.
    Thanks.

[http://asqueella.blogspot.com/2010/12/dyld-unknown-required-load-command.html Here's an Explanation]. Basically you need to add "arch -i386 " at the beginning of the command because 10.5 is 32-bit only and more recent versions of Firefox default to 64-bit.

  • Got Profile Manager working with Mtn Lion, but Apple's new deployment methodology has complicated things substantially - need help!

    Hello,
We recently (a month or so ago) were able to set up OSX Server/Profile Manager/Workgroup Manager on Mtn Lion, and deploy to Mac desktops (deploy 802.1x settings and certs)
When we upgraded the OSX Server to Mavericks, everything changed - PM is different in this version.  In order to enroll devices in PM it seems you need a Device Enrollment token, to get one you need to export a public key & add it to an MDM server on Apples website & in order to do that you need to create an account with Apple.  To create that account you need your Apple Customer # & a ‘work email address’ that is not already used.  Then you have to fill out a form & wait for Apple to approve it.
We have plans to utilize MDM at some point in the future, but for now, Profile Manager works fine - are we forced to utilize MDM in order enroll devices using profile manager with Mavericks/OSX Server 3.1.1?
Thanks for any and all help,
    -Drew

    Can anyone help with this?
Do I *have* to use MDM with OSX Server 3.1.1 in order to use PM?
    Thanks,
    -Drew

  • Profile Manager & Add software

    Hello!
Anywhere in Profile Manager where you need to add Apps from lists for example: Profile Manager -> OS X -> Login Items -> Apps -> [+]
    you'll get crash!

Mines doing the same thing, where all the macs think they dont need updating but I know there are at least four updates to go out out. The main Sofware Update Server is still downloading all the Client updates so do I have to wait for it to finish the downloads for the server to give out the updates?

  • Server 10.8 Profile Manager error

I hope some one just help me out here:
Last week, shortly after the 2.2 update came out, I installed the update. Unfortunately, doing so made our NetInstall service run very badly. We rolled back the Server.app from a Time Machine backup. That caused out Profile Manager process to not be able to find it's info. I suspect it was updated with the first 2. update and rolling back the server.app confused it. So, we reapplied the update to 2.2. That allowed Profile Manager to work, and we have been living with the poorly working NetImage. Now, we seem to have an error with Profile Mamager not being able to start due to errors. I would like to restore the database from Time machine and perhaps even the postgreSQL and DeviceManager process to get it working, but I can't figure out which folders I need to restore.  I've spent the better aprt of the day surfing for answers to a non functional Profile Manager, but nothing works.
What is the proper location for the Profile Manager database ?
How can I tell that postgreSQL is looking in the right place ?
Can I reindex the database to repair it ?

  • Hosting web service on one Xserve and Profile Manager on another?

    Hello.
I'm trying to get Profile Manager running on a second Xserve in our studio but I'm having an issue making connections to it from the WAN because I already have HTTP and HTTPS running on a different Xserve.
The set up is something like this:
    Xserve001 (xs1.mydomain.com)
    - DNS
    - Web service hosting a secure site (via SSL) on port 443
    - Web service hosting a non-secure site on port 80
    Xserve002 (xs2.mydomain.com)
    - Open Directory Master
    - Profile Manager on ports 80, 443, 1640
Since the router/firewall (between the WAN and be two Xserves on the LAN) handles port forwarding, right now, http and https connections (i.e., ports 80 & 443) are forwarded to Xserve001 for the web hosting.
I would like to enable Profile Manager on Xserve002, but connections won't work from the WAN (via xs2.mydomain.com) because ports 80 & 443 are forwarding to Xserve001 (from within the LAN we're fine because DNS handles everything without going through the router).
So, what would I need to do to get this to work when attempting connections from the WAN?
    Thanks,
    Kristin.

This is tricky to do, especially since you have multiple SSL certificates involved.
Ordinarily I'd say the easist option is to have xs1 proxy the connection to xs2 - that way all requests come into xs1 which then determines specific requests are for the profile manager and sends them across the local network.
This will work well enough for port 80 requests, but the SSL requests will fail unless you either have a wildcard SSL certificate (e.g. for *.mydomain.com) or you have a certificate that includes both hostnames.
Without one of these options on your server you're doomed to failure because clients will warn of a hostname mismatch in the SSL certificate (you asked for xs2.mydomain.com but I got a certificate from xs1.mydomain.com) and I don't think iOS or Mac OS X will allow you to connect in this manner.
The other solution hinges around your internet connection, and whether you only have a single IP address or multiple. If you have multiple then you can setup a different public IP address to map to xs2. This is probably the all-round easiest solution, especially when dealing with NAT networks.

  • Error reading setting in profile manager

    Hi
I don't know why but for no apparent reason I have started to get this error message all the time.
Error reading settings for the Profile Manager Service.
All very well but I do not use Profile Magaer, it is turned off but keeps throwing this error message!!!!
I am a real Server Newbie.
    HELP PLEASE!

only my mac (which is running the server OS) is not enrolling.
Why are you trying to enroll your device management server in it's own device management?
I've never tested anything like that, but I bet you can't do that...

  • Please help - Firefox will not open. library - applications - and no firefox is listed to get to my profile manager. . What's next?

firefox has been running slower. When this happens I'll reboot my computer and this speeds up firefox. When I restarted the computer firefox would not open. Just the spinning wheel with no access to the tools.
After I force quit - it says ignore or notify/report to apple. I tried sending a report, and it ques up the box with details, system config, etc... but when I click on send - it will not let me send one - I've never been unable to send a report before.
I uninstalled, then reinstalled. Upon opening I get the spinning wheel and nothing happens - I need to force quit. I see on this mozilla help site that I need to update my profile manager. I followed these instructions - Finding your profile without opening Firefox Open Finder and go to your home folder. Your profile folder is within this folder. but when I got to library - application support - there is no firefox listed.

You can do a disk check with the chkdsk.exe program.
If you run the chkdsk.exe program from a cmd.exe Command window then you can read the response from the chkdsk.exe program.
    Open a cmd.exe window:<br />
    Start &gt; Run: cmd.exe &lt;press Enter&gt;
    At the command prompt (>) type or Copy&Paste: chkdsk.exe /f /r &lt;press Enter&gt; (put a space before /f and /r)
If you get something like: Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? y/n then answer the question with "Y" and close all programs and reboot the computer.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
