[Suggestion]Ideas for the next MacMini

Several suggestions for the next MacMini:
1. AMD Fusion "Llano" 32nm. I think you could use this APU that AMD gonna launch very soon. Why? Because it's supposed to be very power efficient, it includes the GPU inside the silicon die, it supports DX11/OGL4/OpenCL 1.1 and it can reduce the production costs a lot.
2. Add a Bluray option. I personally would like to see a Mini with a Bluray instead of using a DVD. Why? Because I own a lot of Bluray movies like Avatar, Matrix, Inception, etc... and I want to use the Mini as HTPC. On the other hand, my backups are becoming bigger and bigger so I would need to burn 5 DVDs which is very tedious... Please, add an option to buy the Mini with an internal Bluray optical drive!
3. Please, put the connectors on the front. Currently they're on the back side which is not really practical... If you don't want to ruin the aesthetics just place a cover which could open when you touch it, showing the connectors.
4. USB 3.0, please... ( and keep the Firewire connector too because it's still useful! ).
5. Please, add an option to get a SSD instead of the traditional HDD. I personally would keep the HDD option because the SSD can make the product much more expensive.
6. Price. I think the Mini should be always in range 399-599$, specially because we're in the middle of an economical crisis and you should moderate its price.
Thanks.

It would be nice to have a "single" USB and SD card slot on the

just turn it around.
Yes! I like the clean front -- one of the main selling features.

  • Where can I send in an idea for the next iPhone (or anything) to Apple so that they will take it in consideration and hopefully use it?

I came up with a really amazing and helpful idea for the next generation Apple products!

    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    http://www.apple.com/legal/policies/ideas.html

  • How do I share an idea for the next great apple product?

Imagine I-glasses.  Two outward facing screens and two inward facing screens.  Worn like glasses.  The world sees your eyes, or whatever else you might like.  You see enhanced vision on your screens.  Sourced from the two little cameras mounted in the outside corners of the glasses frames.
Google Glasses failed because they didn't offer enough function.  These glasses should start by aiming at the visually challenged by doing so much more than optical lenses can do.  Sort of like the latest advances in hearing aids.  Very soon, everyone will want their own night vision and thermal imaging powers.
I'd be surprised if you are not already working on this.  It will be huge.  Just toss me a bone if this happens to be a fresh idea.  So as to encourage folk like me who can't develop their own good ideas.
    Thanks.

Thank you.  The legal position Apple is taking is clear and understandable.
I am not sure if it is wise or not.
But no matter.  I agree that this idea does not belong to me because I offered it unsolicited.  In fact, I want Apple to own it and exploit it to the fullest.
I expect no compensation.  I chose to approach Apple because I believe they are best positioned to bring this idea into the world and to do it right.
My reward will just have to be the knowledge that I made this gesture in the expectation that good might come of it for people who have a need for vision enhancement.  And that I-glasses would simply provide endless fun for the of us.
Of course I understand that perhaps many people, in the inclusive sense, may be racing to be first to announce something that literally anyone might pick up, unsolicited as it were, from the Universal Mind.

  • Ideas For The Next Update in iTunes.

I think that the next iTunes update needs to allows for Wifi, and i don't mean an app that you can buy from the app store but rather a feature in iTunes. for some reason i cant get bonjour to work on my crappy *** PC. so, Apple get the hint. we want wifi conectivity for ipod touches and iphones!!!! DIRECTLY IN ITUNES!!!! doen anyone agree? btw admins can you make this topic appear at the top of the page? because its of grave importance.

I'd like for an update to not totally screw up my library of music everytime I download it. I have version 8.0.2.20, and I gotta say that it stinks!
It seems everytime I try to play any songs, there's a "stutter" when a new song starts. Think of it as an annoying CD that won't stop skipping! I know my uploads from CD's and MP3's are good. (this annoyance didn't happen with the PREVIOUS update.) I choose to put iTunes in shuffle mode over the entire library. When this problem occurs, I stop the song, restart the song, and it plays just dandy. But when iTunes is in shuffle mode, I get the above listed issue. So I'm supposed to sit and baby the thing along? That's destroying the purpose of why I have the program in the first place. (I have a signal cable from my computer running to both home stereo systems. I use iTtunes as my home jukebox.)
Trying to talk to a real live person is like pulling your own teeth out with a pair of pliers, and I don't have the kind of time to sit and scroll through hundreds of pages of forum topics to see if anyone else has a similar issue. I guess since I've got a 2005 Nano, an old computer, BUT a newer version of Itunes, I must be hosed.
    Any help???????

  • Photo Syncing - Ideas for the next release of iTunes

I have noticed over the last few months that when I sync my iPhone with iTunes, it mentions that it is syncing my photos as well. The only thing that I have are the photos on the phone, nothing else marked in iTunes to transfer.
So my question is this, in a future update, can you make it so that we can manage the Camera Roll on our iPhone (and perhaps other iDevices) so we can remove the items from our iPhone, but store them on our PC/MAC rather than doing things the hard way, and opening up a file browser to connect directly to the phone, and get them that way? (Which by the way, they are always 90 degres to the left, and have to be rotated to be upright).
I think many of us here would benifit from this suggestion, plus allow us to place the photos in a "tree" format so that if we took Christmas pictures for example, we could create a folder called, "Christmas 2010". Any response would be welcome.

Well, I think they've boxed themselves in so that the next revision will have to be called Aslan.  (ok, maybe that joke's too subtle, so I'll link it)

  • A suggestion for the next upgrade.

When I want to separate my iPod I of course select the "eject" on the screen. However there are times when I just want to eject and keep the iPod connected (recharging, seeing what's on the iPod since the new upgrade took that away, listen to my tunes that won't skip). If I want to reconnect though I have to physically remove the cable and reattach. For the next upgrade couldn’t you have an icon at the top that shows the status of the iPod, say a pair of plugs connected and in blue, then when disconnected they’re separate and in yellow, so that if I wanted to reconnect I can just press the icon and it reconnects through software? Thanks.

    Hi,
This errors occurs if you have configured some schema for the scheduler and configured it on BIP, but the configured schema is no longer available.
That is why I am suggesting you to replace the current quartz.properties file with the original file that exits during installation.
Then try to start the server, and see if the server starts without error.
After that you can try to configure the scheduler from BIP console.
    thanks,

  • The Nordins - Options for the next time you need a customer!

The headline is from an email we received: "Verizon - Options for the next time you need customer service!"  Well, we changed it, just slightly.   Well, on 6/20/2013 we had the TV down; it was said to be a piece of video equipment that went down.  We could not get anything on the TV until next day.  The sad part is that we were watching the Heat-Spurs game and it quit just 1min-36sec. prior to the end of the game.  Then, we could not watch our daily Netflix show we watch every evening before going to bed.  So in calling twice, we found out about the video equipment problem.  But typically Verizon, they replaced the equipment and thought nothing about the customer that actually lost the reception!!  How about crediting us for the time "off the air".  You can't have the cake and eat it too.  Then, Verizon sends us emails about the bill, customer service, etc. but there is no way for us to email them back!!  Why do they think my time is less valuable then theirs; having to call their customer service and to wait a long time for answer by someone in "God knows where country".  What does that tell you about the customer service commitment!  It's like, yeah you are one of the slob users that keep paying the bills for lousy service.   Perhaps it's time for all of us to switch off our TV's for one or two days a week and not pay them for "our time off the grid".  Having some couple of thousand TV's off twice a week may shake them up a bit.   So here is my idea.  Establish an email address where we can reach anyone in customer service directly, in our own state, not somewhere 1000 and more miles away.  Additionally, if something is down, does not matter what time of the day, stand up for it and give the customer their credit due.  Thanks for reading

It all depends how you use it.
Once the initial break in period is over, like the first year, it should run just fine as long as you don't abuse it, don't let it overheat, keep the dust out etc.
Do get the AppleCare as it's very expensive to repair a Mac.
    Some tips:
1: Avoid using the built in keyboard and trackpad as much as possible. I know what's the use, but it's these too area's, the USB ports and the Superdrive that experience the most wear and tear.
2: If you do use the built in keyboard, take off your watch and jewelry, it scratches. mars, reacts with the case and discolors it.
3: The keybord is a bit weak compared to regular PC desktop keyboards, so use a wireless one, but have a wired one around for emergencies. The keyboard collects dirt, grime, hair, dust etc, underneath, you might want to have a light cover over the keys but still let air get underneath.
4: Be gentle with the audio ports and the Superdrive, don't use your computer for watching DVD's. The Superdrive is important for recovering the machine with the installer disk which also must be well taken care of.
5: A GOOD case, like a MacTruck or a padded one will absorb the shocks if dropped while transporting.
6: The biggest concern is other people, they just don't handle things with care because it's not theirs and they are ignorant or even spiteful of the money you spent to have a quality machine.
7: Clone your boot drive to a external regularly, in fact have two, one staggered back in time a few weeks, it's hold option bootable in case your hard drive dies. Free cloning software like Carbon Copy Cloner or the commercial version Superduper does the job well.

  • I want to buy a new laptop so my question is should i buy the new 2013 macbook air 13in or wait for the next model (june 2014) ?

This will be my first mac laptop, so my question if i am goin to miss a huge jump in the specifications for the next year release or not ?

We know there will eventually be a new MacBook Air (though the terms of use here prohibt speculation about it). We have no idea when it will come out or what it's specs will be. Retired Engineer's advice is exactly the same as mine. If you need a computer now, buy it. It is a powerful computer and except for the fact there's no 2TB SSD available (not that I could afford it if one existed) it could be my one and only computer. If you merely want a new computer, wait until you need one.

  • Give me some ideas for the project.

    Hi,folks
I am not familiar with programming in web services. Now i have a project related to web services need to finish. I want to someone give me some ideas for the project. how can i implement the access control services. is there anyone can give me some related links for me to learn.
Project Title: Implementing an access control service
    Project Description:
Web services are emerging as a new approach to system construction and will make a major impact on the engineering of future business systems. They will allow a move from enterprise to inter-enterprise computing. However, with inter-enterprise computing, there are major problems with providing access to shared data, given that enterprises will not wish to share all data with partners.
This project aims to investigate this problem by developing a prototype of an access control service that will help decide whether or not data access should be permitted. In essence, companies will outsource their access control to this service and so will not need to maintain their own access control lists for a potentially rapidly changing set of users.
    Suggested Platform: Windows or Linux
    Suggested Languages & Tools: Java

Well, the approach I've come accross is a central server which is typically accessed indirectly from the web servers (e.g. through SOAP protocol or RMI).
The remote server sends a user id and a password (or more likely a digest of the password), and receives a session token, basically just a random string of characters which is checked with the central server each time a secure transaction is attempted. The token will be stored in a session object, or perhaps directly in a cookie or in the URLs.
Active session tokens are stored on the central server for comparison. This means the password doesn't have to be retained in the server.
It's possible for the session token to be transfered if the user switches from one site to another on the same authentication server.
Sun distributes one of these beasties, by the way, so you could take a look at their product specs.
