Sum Account based on first 3 Characters of member name

In ASO I am trying to sum a group of accounts that all start with 460???_SUS. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try this
WITH MEMBER [Market].[Sum Expense for States with New]
AS
'Sum
(Filter([Market].Levels(0).members, ISMATCH([Market].CurrentMember.MEMBER_NAME, "New")),
  [Measures].[Total Expenses]
SELECT
{[Measures].[Total Expenses]}
ON COLUMNS,
  {Filter([Market].Levels(0).members, ISMATCH([Market].CurrentMember.MEMBER_NAME, "New")),
  [Market].[Sum Expense for States with New]}
ON ROWS
FROM
Sample.Basic
WHERE ([Scenario].[Actual])This gives
(New York)     8914
(New Hampshire)     3337
(New Mexico)     3659
(Sum Expense for States with New)     15910

    Thanks a lot for your response Vasavya. Let me describe my problem clearly. We are having planning application and we use ODI to refresh Master data/Meta data in planning application. One attribute dimension member contains special character and its getting rejected everytime since planning will not accept special characters in member names/Alias names. Is anything that we can do from planning side to avoid the rejection?. Thanks in advance.Is the application been created in unicode mode? Are you able to enter characters directly into planning? have you read the restrictions sections - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/frameset.htm?apb.html

  • KEA0 Deactivating Account-based PA

    Hello SAP Guru,
    Currently my COPA has both costing-based and account-based activated.  I would like to deactivate account-based but I am not sure of all the steps involved other than uncheck the box for account-based in the config. Also, we are currently live with COPA, what are some of the things I should watch out for by turning off account-based in the production environment.
    Thank you for your help.
    HT

    Kindly remove the activation in KEKE and save it without assigning the costing based COPA. Then in KEA0, select the operating concern and go to the menupath extras-settings where you will be able to remove the flag on account based COPA. Then you need to save the settings and generate the operating concern. After completing this, you may activate
    the costing based copa in KEKE.
    In the transaction OKKP (in the view activate components/control indicators) you have to change the customizing to Component active for costing based profitability analysis (2)
    The data for the account-based CO-PA is written into the already existing CO-tables: COEP, COEJ, COSP und COSS. So there will be no impact on the tables.
    Reposting existing documents ( like invoices) could be a problem since at the time of posting there was a account based COPA document. So at the time of reversal system will expect the same else will throw error KI144. This error message can be changed into an information or a warning message .Read note 98262 regarding this. This problem could also come for documents 'in process' i.e if sales order and GI has been done  with account based COPA and at the time of billing it is inactive.
    The cost accounting document created with account based CO-PA active is a different one than that with account based turned off. If account based isn't active the posting leaving CO-OM is put to a reconciliation object. If account based is active the same posting will go to a profitability segment for account based CO-PA. This 'trick' made the introduction of account based CO-PA possible without creating extra tables. The reconciliation object is naturally on a higher aggregation
    level, so that the number sum records in CO is smaller than with account based CO-PA active.
    There is a note that describes the differences between the
    costing-based and the account-based Profitability Analysis types. Please review the attached note 69384.
    Nevertheless please test this throughly first in your test-system before going live in production

  • Please tell me a BAPI to get Closing balance of customer account based on Sales Organization?

    Hi Experts,
    A requirement has come up where I want to get Customer closing balance based on its sales organization as this particular customer is extented to 2 different sales organizations. I want to get the closing balance of individual sales organization vise.
    Please tell me a BAPI to get Closing balance of customer account based on Sales Organization?

    AFAIK there is no such BAPI, cause there is no database table with balance for customer per sales organisation. (No KNCx table for VKORG)
    First ask functionals (*) how to recover sales organisation from a FI document (I suppose for SD invoice it is easy if no merging between organisation) will be a little tricker for pure FI document like payment transactions (hope thet are quickly cleared...)  Then start from non cleared records of BSID (also BSAD if you use a past date of reference, in case you have to add the records of BSAD with clearing date greater than reference date) and cross it with SD information to break FI into sales organisation.
    Regards,
    Raymond
    (*) Ask for where do they store VKORG in FI documents

  • CO-PA Account Based enhancement : BELNR-CO

    Hi all,
    I have successfully implemented a CO-PA ETL for both Costing and account based CO-PA in my system.
    I enhanced the costing based Extraction with no major concern.
    However I now wish to enhance the CO-PA Accoutn BAsed, and here I struggle , because I cannot get the controlling document number - part of COEP key - in my extract.
    I need to use this controlling document number in order to conduct some logic in the extraction, but the creation of the account based datasoource in KEB0 does not provide the option to have this field as part of the extract structure ( as a sidenote, it will not be defined in KEQ3 either, as the granularity of the profitability segment would then be to fine)
    ... Any idea on how to collect the CO doc number in this scenario? I am missing something...
    I would very much appreciate some insight from experienced CO-PA - BW community members !
    Cheers
    Patrick

    Patrick,
    The link between COSP / COSS and CE4xxxx is the objnr of the tables COSP / COSS. The first 2 positions = 'EO'. The following positions, the name of the results area and rest of the objnr relates to the PAOBJNR of table CE4xxx. In the table CE4xxxx the field KNT_FRM_KZ = '1'. This means account based CO-PA object.
    For the standard extraction process you don't need to build things between these tables. The extractor knows the relationships already.

    Peter

  • Using Dimension Formulas to sum data based on different criteria

    Hi all,
    I am trying to use a u201CDimension Formulau201D to perform the following calculation:
    We have an account dimension which has 2 important properties:
    1.     CRITERIUMTYPE: This property can have 3 different values: u201CWERKu201D, u201CINVu201D OR u201CLIQu201D
    2.     ACCTYPE: This property can have 2 different values: u201CEXPu201D or u201CINCu201D
    The client wants to have a report that sums data based on these 2 properties. An example will help to clarify this:
    ACCOUNTS     CRITERIUMTYPE     ACCTYPE     VALUE
    ACCOUNT A         WERK                          EXP               100 u20AC
    ACCOUNT B         WERK                          INC               150 u20AC
    ACCOUNT C         WERK                          EXP               200 u20AC
    ACCOUNT D         WERK                          INC               300 u20AC
    ACCOUNT E         INV                          EXP               50 u20AC
    ACCOUNT F         INV                          INC               100 u20AC
    ACCOUNT G         INV                          EXP               200 u20AC
    ACCOUNT H         INV                          INC               500 u20AC
    The clients wishes to see this data in the following way:
    CRITERIUMTYPE     ACCTYPE     VALUE
       WERK                         EXP              300 u20AC
                                        INC              450 u20AC
       INV                         EXP              250 u20AC
                                     INC              600 u20AC
    In order to achieve this I have created several new accounts, one for each combination e.g.: Account WERKEXP is used to sum the data on the combination CRITERIUMTYPE=WERK and ACCTYPE=EXP. I have created a dimension formula in my account dimension but this is where I am stuck. I have created the following formula to calculate the account WERKEXP:
    IIF([BUDGETPOSITIE].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("ACCTYPE")="EXP",IIF([BUDGETPOSITIE].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("CRITERIUMTYPE")="WERK",[BUDGETPOSITIE].CURRENTMEMBER,0),0)
    The problem with this formula is the following:
    The formula will add all amounts that meet the 2 criteria mentioned in the formula, EXP and WERK, but as soon as it finds an accounts that does not match the 2 criteria it will set the account WERKEXP back to 0. I need to know if there is a way, using dimension formulas, of adding these values together without the new account being set to 0 as soon as one of the accounts it needs to check does not meet 1 of the 2 criteria.
    We are working on SAP BPC 7.5 for NW with SP04
    All help is very much appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Stefano

    Hi,
    You can also use ParentHn property to have different grouping of accounts within the dimension.
    So in your case rather using the member formula you can have four accounts and add them in the Parenthn property for grouping it.
    1. The Solution proposed by Nilanjan is specific for a Report/IS and Performance will be good
    2. My solution will be global something similar to MDX formula, but performance may be slightly lesser than using excel function.
    Hope this helps,

  • How can I pull info into a report using just the first two characters of that field?

    I am trying to pull a total cost based upon locations in a particular area(s). Can I get the formula to just do this based on the first two characters of that field?
    Here is what I have so far:
    if {PACKED.LOCATIONS.NEXT OPERATION} = ["xx"] THEN {Job.Total_Price}
    Packed locations is a table I'm pulling from and the column I want just the first two digits is the the Next operation. Once this meets the "xx" (whatever location) then give me the total price from the Job table.
    This works for one or two orders, but then blows up when I do 10 or so.

    Hi Steve, assuming that Next Operation is a string field...
    Create a new formula and place it in the field where you see the {Job.Total_Price} field (Detail or Group depending on your report) with the formula:
    whileprintingrecords;
    global numbervar TotalValue;
    if len({? Replace me}) <= len({PACKED.LOCATIONS.NEXT OPERATION}) then(
    if left(ucase({PACKED.LOCATIONS.NEXT OPERATION}),len({? Replace me})) = ucase({? Replace me}) then
    TotalValue := TotalValue + {Job.Total_Price}
    TotalValue;
    You can go ahead and suppress that field.
    Create a new formula to place where you want to view the summary using the formula:
    whileprintingrecords;
    global numbervar TotalValue;
    This method allows for a higher degree of flexibility and you can search for the first x characters of that field instead of only the first 2 characters

  • COPA Account Based Problem

    Dear All,
    I had created two DataSource for COPA one is Cost Based and another is Account Based using T-code KEB0 in R/3 Dev. I can able to see the data in RSA3 for Cost Based but when come the Account Based it is giving "Error Occured during the extraction" (When i get into the Help -During the extraction phase an error occurred for the extractor. An exception, 'error_passed_to_mess_handler' was triggered.-).
    Could any one please help me in creating of COPA Account Based, and please do help me in some notes.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prashanth

    Hi all,
    the solution is:
    the extractor needs a summarization level in CO-PA --> see OSS 392635 (TC KEDV).
    After Creation of this level you have to build new level (TC KEDU) --> fill with data.
    After this you have to create the datasource CO-PA.
    Notice: lucky time entry: e.g. 2005.001 in RSA3, RSA6
    Questions remains: why does this information/hint (sum. level missing?) is not included in the error message.

  • Selecting first N characters when querying the CMS

    I am trying to retrieve only the first 6 characters of the SI_KEYWORDS field when querying the CMS from within the SDK.  When testing within QueryBuilder the following in bold does not work, although LEFT is a command for achieving this in SQL.  Can someone help me to know if this is possible within QueryBuilder SQL and if so how to achieve it?
    Select LEFT(SI_KEYWORD,6) as keyword, SI_NAME From CI_INFOOBJECTS, CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS, CI_APPOBJECTS WHere SI_KIND='webi'
    and SI_KEYWORD != '' and SI_KEYWORD != 'Hidden' and SI_KEYWORD != 'Auditor'
    ORDER BY keyword, SI_NAME
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Ted,
    Thanks for your reply.  I understand the querying of the CMS better after reading it.
    We are utilizing the keywords field and the description field to obtain some metadata about our reports that I need to access from java code.  Unfortunately, we have 4 different pieces of metadata we want to store and only the 2 fields in which to store them, so we are using delimiters in the keywords field to separate the values.  For example, we have "value1value2" as the keyword field in one report, but in another report if value2 is blank we simply have "value1".  This works well as we just parse the delimiters in java and we can store the 2 different values in the one keyword field.  The part that is not working well with this approach, though, is ordering the results.  We want to order the reports by value1 and then by SI_NAME.  Because some of the reports have value1value2 and others just have value1 it throws this ordering off if I use "ORDER BY SI_KEYWORD, SI_NAME".
    I've been looking for ways to get around this without doing a re-sort in Java and this is all I could think of:
    1. Are there some additional user-defined fields that we could expose in the report properties in the CMC, and then retrieve via Query Builder / SDK?  Something like SI_UDF1, SI_UDF2, etc.  All we could find were keywords and description.
    2. Using a SUBSTR or LEFT-like function on the keywords field so that it only gets value1 for sorting purposes only, but still retrieve the entire keywords field in the SELECT.  I understand now based on your explanation that this will not work as (if I understand correctly) it would modify the report object in the CMS to set the keyword to the truncated value.
    Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.  I know I can always bite the bullet and do the sorting java-side once I get the resultset back, but I was hoping to avoid the performance hit of doing that.
    Thanks,
    Dave

  • PA - Costing-Based and Account-Based

    Hi All,
    Please tell me what is Costing based PA and Account-based PA.
    Thanks
    Vinu

    Hi,
    Costing-Based Profitability Analysis
    This type of Profitability Analysis is primarily designed to let you analyze profit quickly for the purpose of sales management. Its main features are, firstly, the use of value fields to group cost and revenue elements, and, secondly, automatic calculation of anticipated or accrual data (valuation). The advantage of this method is that data is always up‑to‑date and therefore provides an effective instrument for controlling sales.
    Account-Based Profitability Analysis
    This type of Profitability Analysis enables you to reconcile cost and financial accounting at any time using accounts. In contrast to costing‑based Profitability Analysis, this type uses cost and revenue elements, which gives you a unified structure for all of accounting.
    The system posts all revenues and costs to both Financial Accounting and Profitability Analysis at the same time and using the same valuation method. This means that the cost of sales is posted to Profitability Analysis at the point of goods issue.

    Eli
