Superscript Characters not printing in a PDF

I was wondering if anybody knows of a work around to print superscript characters in a table.
I am a Structural Engineer and use tables for my loadings however instead of m^2 (the 2 is superscript and no ^) I get m when I print my document to a pdf. But when I print to paper it prints as shown.
The wierd thing is if the superscript isn't in a table it will print ok !!!
I can obviously use ^2 instead but this looks unprofessional and a mess.
I tried to log this problem to Apple, but they wanted $20 just for the privledge

Just tried again in the new Numbers 3.5 with Yosemite and this seems to have been finally fixed.
Printed to a pdf and superscript text was printed correctly.
I'll do some more testing but I hope I can finally say goodbye to Numbers 2.3.
My guess is this will be fixed in Pages too...

Brother laser printer not printing Acrobat 8 PDFs

My beloved Brother HL 5250DN laser printer was not printing Acrobat 8 PDFs, and since installing CS4 it won't print PDFs OR InDesign files. Help!
The PDF printing problem started suddenly about 6 months ago. Now, as I mentioned, it won't print from Acrobat 9 or InDesign CS4. This is greatly compromising my graphic design job search, as the Brother is my little workhorse! What could this conflict be? Why does it seem to be getting progressively worse? Thanks for your help, all!

If you haven't thrown away the DMG file yet. You deleted using wrong application.
Use Printer Utility.
open Printer Utility and remove the instance of your printer.
Remove from list.
now open the Printer Driver File you download. look and see if there is an Uninstall. If so, run it. On HP Drivers if you hold down Control or option key it will change from installer to uninstaller.
Now this time Install driver let it install everything.
Now open Printer Utility and have it to locate Printers. Your Printer should pop up in list. Now choose and make it the default Printer for system.
Now open Acrobat, (if you have Acrobat 9, hope and pray, you don't have the no show printer in page setup) in setup choose desired printer the choose type paper, (8.5X11 letter) then choose orientation Portriat.
Now click on Page atributes, and click on Save as default. This set the default setup Acrobat will go to when first opened.
Now open a PDF and Try.
Repeat with inDesign, note: Using your printer, only prints already created PDF's does not create Pdf's.

Chinese/Japanese characters not appearing on smartforms PDF output

Hi,
The print preview of the Smartforms output layout is correctly displaying the characters of native/local languages like Chinese, Japanses etc.....but when i try to print this output, it is printing the junk characters.
Whereas the same printer is able to print the Chinese, Japanese characters when printed from MS Word.
So this issue is occurring only when printing from SAP.
In spool i could see the Chinese/Japanese characters appearing correctly, whereas when i try to convert it to PDF using program RSTXPDFT4, the PDF is again showing junk characters replacing the chinese characters.

This could be of different reeasons...
1) Make sure your printer is uni-code enabled.
2) Make sure, your unicode enabled printer is configured in SAP.
3) make sure, your printer device is supported by SAP. (You can find list of SAP recommended printers in www.service.sap.com)
4) Check whether the correct device type is used for printing chinese and japanese characters.
5) Check code pages.
6) Make sure you use Cyrillic font family, for printing chinese and Japanese characters.

Will not print anything but Pdf files!

If I try to print anything at all other than a PDF file from Adobe only(other readers will not even work) very little of the page prints if anything at all. For example, I was trying to print a shipping label off of the website, and the only thing that would print was the barcode. Nothing else. I actually had to convert it to a pdf file and open it with Adobe, and then it printed perfectly. I have tried reinstalling, restarting, using the HP support doctor, which says absolutely nothing is wrong with my printer. I am at a loss to why it will only print pdf files from Adobe. Can anyone please help me?! I forgot to mention it worked perfectly about a month ago. We don't print a whole lot and didn't notice it was messed up until just a few days ago.

I understand that when printing from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Deskjet 1512 All-in-One Printer, nothing is printing, except Adobe PDF files. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Now, you indicate in your post that you had tried to print a shipping label from a website, and only the barcode prints. However, if you open the file up and print it from Adobe it appears to print fine. This leads me to believe that the actual issue that is occuring is a print system issue with the black cartridge. I know it may come as a surprise to hear that as Adobe is printing fine. However, when you print from certain programs on your computer the file is sent to the printer as an 'image' file. If your printer 'thinks' it is printing an image it will use a mixture of colour ink and black to print the black document. Therefore, what you may actually be seeing when you print from Adobe is colour ink mixed. To start troubleshooting I am going to have you print a Quality Diagnostics Report from your printer and this will help us to isolate this printing issue. Please follow the steps below. How to Print a Quality Report: Load clean, white U.S. Letter or A4 paper in the input tray, if necessary.Press and hold the Power button. While holding down the Power button, press and hold the Cancel button. Hold them both down for 2 or 3 seconds.The test page prints. (1) Printed with the tri-colour cartridge(2) Printed with the black cartridge If this Report prints perfectly: Then the printing issue that you're experiencing is not being caused by your products print system. Can not print turbo tax pdf in windows 8

Has Adobe Reader interfaced with microsoft about printing pdf files with adobe reader? I am unable to print TurboTax PDF Files.

Special German characters not printing correctly on BI pub report

We have a BI PU Report which gets the XML from the 6i reprot, the titles on the report are dervied from a custom table where we store the label value for each language. THis is worked so for okay on NA, now we migrated this to Europe and having issues with the label value. when the XML is viewed from the unix server the value appears oaky (the value is : Abnahmeprüfzeugnis),
but when I copy the XML output and view it from the desktop, it appears as AbnahmeprÃ¼fzeugnis , bsically it replaces ü with Ã¼.
The pdf output also prints this wrong value (as AbnahmeprÃ¼fzeugnis). Not sure what's wrong with this. Please let me know if you have any ideas?

Steve- I understand what you are mentioning about the ftp, the XML file looks okay on both server and the client except for the letter 'ü ' and the rest of the German characters prints okay. THe problem is that the BI reprot is printing the same wrong characters.

Sapscript and Standard Text - Polish Characters not printing

Hi,
I have created an English Sapscript and translated it to Polish via transaction SE76.
Changing my PC Region and Language settings to Polish allowed me to enter Polish Characters into Hardcoded text in the Sapscript and Standard Text via s010.
I have two problems:
1) With my PC Region and Language settings set to Polish, when I create my sapscript output some of the polish characters that I have entered via SE76 and SO10 do not appear and are replaced by others e.g.
ę is dispalyed as ê
ć is displayed as æ
ń is displazed as #
2) I have a business requirement to be in England Logged with PC Region and Language set to English but to print a sapscript output in Polish. Is this possible.
We are currently on non unicode SAP system.
Please can anyone advise.

Hello,
SAP discourages mixed code page or MDMP systems and with good reason. If there is any possibility of you upgrading to a Unicode system in the near future you should try to wait for it. Supporting multiple languages in Unicode is easy, in MDMP it can be quite tricky. And MDMP makes the move to Unicode more difficult.
That said, your BASIS team can enable Polish and you can print in Polish while your PC is set for English. The SAPScript/Form must be in Polish or using an INCLUDE that is LANGUAGE 'PL' to let SAP know which code page to use when printing.
Seriously, look at moving to Unicode, you need to do it eventually anyways.

Why can I not print out a pdf-file (train ticket NS) when downloaded with Firefox? (file says (SECURED)

When ordering and paying a train ticket by internet they send a pdf-file, which one must download and print. When downloading this with Firefox (from my e-mail account) the pdf-file says (SECURED) and I cannot print out the ticket (pdf-file). (Adobe program stops automatically).
When downloading this same pdf-file in Safari, I encounter no problems.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader application or set to "Always Ask" in "Firefox > Preferences > Applications".

Framemaker 8.0p277 will not print graphic to PDF

It has been some time since I have worked in FrameMaker and I am having difficulty this time around creating a pdf from a FrameMaker file where I have inserted an ai graphic into a FrameMaker document. Previously, the document printed but when I updated it, it would no longer bring the graphic into the resulting pdf.
I am using Illustrator CS3 to edit the ai file. I have also tried to use a pdf version of the ai file but to no avail.
Looking for help. To do a quick fix, it was necessary to take the resulting pdf and edit it in Illustrator to insert the graphic. A real pain when it will be necessary to do about twenty of these documents.

FWIW, FM tries to read an .ai file as a PDF, but it's not exactly the same as a PDF - there's a lot of additional info stored that could through FM for a loop. It stores the PDF internally and then upon output uses a filter to create an eps format into the output stream (so you're asking FM to do additional work that using an .eps file in the first place would avoid).
There is a setting in the maker.ini (omitted in the default version of FM8 & 9) called EPSLevelForPlacedPDF that specifies the postscript level to use. When missing, IIRC, FM defaults to using an archaic Level 1 postscript model, which may not handle (or understand) many things in a AI/PDF file.

Characters not visible in Generated pdf format..

I am working on a report.I have created an rdf file and registered in Apps to generate the report output in pdf format.When i am running my concurrent request its generating the pdf file but its not generating any characters only numerical values are visible in the output pdf file.I am coming across a problem every time making some small changes..Please help me.

Microsoft Office Documents Not Printing in Complete PDF Books

Good afternoon all -
Our users load Word documents and Excel documents into Workspace, then add them to reporting books. When they run these books in Complete Book in PDF view, the Office documents do not show up. They show up in every other view.
Oracle Support suggested the following options:
1) run the PrintServer from a command window --- this worked, but isn't viable long term
2) change the 'Log On' properties for the PrintServer service to 'This account' and specify a regular admin type account/password. --- I have not gotten this to work yet. I have it running under a user in the local admin group for that server. I see the EXCEL.exe and WINWORD.exe services pop up in the task manager window, but nothing further than that.
I'm wondering if anyone has advice or has run into this problem before. My server admins aren't offering much in the way of help here.

I spoke with Oracle Support and they say the patch will not fix this particular issue. I'll keep that in mind though in case we run out of other options to try.

Chinese characters not printing properly in smartforms

HI,
I am trying to print customer name which has chinese characters, in smartform. But it is displaying with spaces in between chinese characters. I need to avoid that. while debugging i can see it is populating with out any spaces. But in print preview, i can
see spaces in between characters.
Can any body tell me , how to avoid spaces in beteen chinese characters.

Hello,
Check SAP note 1246423.
Perhaps this is simply a problem with the Sapscript buffers. You can
run the report RSTXDELL on the system to clear the Sapscript buffers.
It is a good idea to do the refresh procedures after any updates
concerning font metrics, device types etc...
To do this you can use RSTXDELL report with default settings except it
is better to have * instead of the current client number in the Client
field.
After this can you please create some new spools and the problem should
be resolved. It will not work to reprint an old spool as the contained
data is already incorrect.
