The Nokia 6085 is a quad-band phone, for it to take a new sim card type (micro/nano) you might need to use a SIM card adapter.

I got the same message.
I bought an iPhone 5 at full retail price from an AT&T store. I requested the phone to be unlocked through their unlock portal. The AT&T unlock system asked for the IMEI number, a copy of my receipt showing that I bougth the phone at "No Commitment" price. A few hours later I received a message from AT&T stating that the unlock request was approved. I then followed the instructions to back up the phone and restore it through Itunes. The phone activates normally with the AT&T SIM card. But when I insert my VODAFONE SIM I get the massage "THE SIM CARD... etc.
I tried again to back up & restore the phone 3 or 4 times, no success. I have also allowed 24 hours for the unlock process to complete. Still no luck.
I have checked again on the AT&T Unlock Status portal and it shows "Unlock approved".
Where is the issue here? Do I have to call Apple or return the phone to AT&T and get the unlocked phone through the Apple Store?

It appears that you have an iPhone that is locked to a carrier other than the one you were using. Now that you have tried to update the iOS, it has relocked. That is what happens if you are using a phone that has been hacked to unlock. You have also forfeited support from Apple and from this forum.

[SOLVED]ModemManager 0.7 breaks support for Ericsson F3607gw WWAN card

apparently the ModemManager v 0.7.990 currently in the repos no longer supports my WWAN card, a Dell 5540 Mobile Broadband (which is just a rebranded Ericsson F3607gw).
ModemManager 0.6, which is the version used in Fedora 18, works just fine with the card and connections can be made.
My device, as listed by lsusb:

However, I cannot downgrade to MM 0.6 as Gnome 3.8 and NetworkManager require >=0.7.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and has a fix/solution? Or should I file a bug in the Arch tracker? I got Bluetooth PANs to work with a patched bluez from this board, as the upstream version is behind the one used by fedora (4.101-1 vs. 4.101-4). WWAN is the only thing that doesn't work with my new Arch setup.

I slightly modified modemmanager-git in the AUR and added some dependencies, the git version now works for me.

im trying to unlock my orange phone to tesco mobile, i phoned orange n they sent a set of instructions, following the instructions it comes up with this error "the sim card doesnt seem to be supported, please contact your carrier" please help

How long ago did you contact them regarding the unlock? It takes time.... time as in days or weeks, not hours.

Support for AVM ISDN PCMCIA Card in Solaris 10 ?

I would like to install Solaris 10 on my Toshiba Tecra S1 notebook. Today I use an ISDN-Card (AVM FritzCard, PCMCIA) for dial-up connections under Windows XP. Are there any drivers for ISDN and/or PCMCIA-Cards in Solaris10? Does anyone have any experiences with this issue?

Hello.
There only very poor support for ISDN cards in Solaris. As far as I know only the on-board ISDN card of one of the SparcStation computers is supported (this card is available as S-Bus card for other SparcStation computers).
I think there is no support for any ISDN card that can be attached to an x86 computer.
I wrote a driver for USB based ISDN modems that are based on the Winbond 6694 chip myself due to this lack of ISDN support. I tested it under Solaris 9/Sparc.

Nokia phones do not have/support user-installable "language packs".
You could ask if a local Nokia repair center could install a phone software (firmware) with Arabic support: http://www.nokia.com/repair
Otherwise your alternatives may require the use of illegally distributed, hacked software and firmware files, and the discussion is best to leave right there (here).

Yoga 2 11 support for new AC Wifi card

I just recently upgraded my Yoga 2 11 with a new Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD. While in the laptop, I pulled the factory Wifi card and bought and installed the Intel Dual-Band Wireless AC 7260. I get the dreaded error on bootup that it has detected a unsupported wi-fi card. Is there a supported AC card for this machine, or plans to support this Intel card?
The top card is what came from the factory (real piece of junk), and the bottom is the new Intel card.

Have you considered looking at what's available in the Lenovo Outlet ?

Listed as a refurb. My experience with refurbs from the outlet is that I couldn't tell them from 'new'. YMCV.

GLSL support for intel x3100 video cards?

I recently purchased a Lenova Thinkpad T61. I opted for an Intel integrated graphics card (X3100) since I had heard Intel had good open source drivers. Recently, I tried to play with some GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language) programming, but was greeted with segfaults at every turn. I finally downloaded and ran the examples from the bottom of this page: http://www.lighthouse3d.com/opengl/glsl … glexample1
Much to my surprise, they told me "No OpenGL 2.0 support" and "No GLSL support", respectively.
I am using xf86-video-intel-2.2.0-2 and the "Driver" in my xorg.conf is "intel".
Does anyone know anything about this? Am I out of luck hardware wise, or is this just a driver thing? Is support coming anytime soon? Am I using the wrong driver?

The GMA X3100 really doesn't have OpenGL 2.0 support, only OpenGL 1.5 support.

I really don't know if the GLSL support can be implemented by the driver without OpenGL 2.0 hardware support.

ATI Radeon HD 4870, support for quicktime using video card to decode h.264?

Does anyone know if Apple decided to use some of the fancy hardware in the new ATI RADEON HD 4870 to allow quicktime to shunt the h.264 decoding off to the video card?
I've got a 8 cores (and they don't seem all that busy). Even with the Perian quicktime plugin I still run into some HD movies that don't get a constant 24fps.

If the MAc Pro 2.66 comes with Snow Leopard, why would I have to upgrade my OS?
OK. So, if got the MAc version, it would work A-OK without overheating?

Hi, I have the 3gs and had it unlocked for my virgin sim card, I have been using it for a while now and thought I would connect it to my i tunes, it said that i had to restore my phone so I did and now it says that no sim is inserted! can any1 help plz?

Hi Peter, Outcome is I look like a real big idiot!!!! When my husband got home I was in the process of writing down all the details to inform apple of the dodgy o2 store, only for him to inform me that he never got it unlocked at the o2 store because they couldn't do it the same day and as I have zero patience he took it a few doors down to a phone shop that advertised unlocking of phones! So now holding my head in shame I have to appologise to o2 and to everyone for wasting their time! Sorry! I assumed that when he gave me the phone and I asked that it was fully unlocked (as we had read up on the jailbreak and red something?) and he said yes! that the o2 store had done it, but he had asked the shop that unlocked it if it would be fully unlocked and took their word for it! so my phone has been hacked and I will now be (with my tail between my legs, so to speak) taking it to the o2 store for help : ( Hope someone else will read this and learn for my (well my husbands) lesson and go through the correct channels, Thanks again to yourself and KiltedTim and Sorry!
