Support for loss of Pandora connection

Pandora app - receiving "Failed to restore an active subscription . .  ."

Try resetting (rebooting) the iPhone. If that doesn't help, try removing and reinstalling the Pandora app. If that still doesn't help, you'll probably need to contact Pandora support.

  • Unknown reason for loss of mobile connection. No Service message.

Recently my phone randomly loses connection to the network. I get "no service" instead of my mobile phone provider. Tried a restore - new and from backup. Sometimes airport mode resets the connection. Using iOS 4.3.5. On Orange in the UK. Ant ideas?

Wow! Still no reply from Support Team?
    I have the same problem.
iPhone 4 (Factory Unlocked) 32 Gb. FW 4.3.5. iTunes 10.4.1 (Mac OS X Lion). System and iTunes are up to date.
My phone just out of the blue lost connection and has been showing No Service. I tried everything (execpt of Service - as I'm in Russia now - we have no official Apple Service). First times connection might appear online for some time, then lost again. Air Plane switching helped intially - then failed to restore network connection. Here starts an interesting thing - when I rebooted iPhone - I found my phone asking me to connect to iTunes (it didn't seem to be a revocery mode - I was able to see network and battery indicators). When I connected it to iTunes - it some times wasn't able to activate my iPhone (due to No Service), some times it saw the phone but failed to recognize it contents and asked to restore. Many times I performed restore procedure. Another interesting thing was - when I've just restored device - it saw network for some time (20-40 min) then lost it. When I rebooted the Phone....behold......it asked me to connect to iTunes once again!!!!! And this repeates all the time. The only way to use it as iPod - restore with iTunes and DO NOT reboot as it requires activation each time I reboot it.
    Thus we have a conclusion:
    1. iPhone loses network some minutes after compleate restore to factory settings.
    2. It restores the connection if one recovers it with iTunes (or resets network settings of complete iPhone erase), but asks to active it.
    3. It asks for activation each time the phone was rebooted.
    4. It's not a SIM card problem (I've chenged for another micro-SIM - the same). I also tried SIM cards with another phones - work perfectly (and still working).
    5. It's not a Firmware problem (initally I had 4.3.3, then upgraded to 4.3.5).
    6. It's likely a hardware error as:
6.1 when I've just restored iPhone - it some times showed 'Searching' till the next restore (I was unable to active such phone).
6.2 Some times it couln't find network just after restore - hence it's defenetely not a sync problem (as I thought for the first times).
6.3 Some times iPhone was connected to iTunes just right after restore - it showed 'iTunes can't read iPhone contents - restore...etc.'
6.4 It seems like a bad SIM-card contact, or some failure in Antena Module. Let me explain why: when phone is on (and show No Service) I eject SIM Card - phone didn't show up 'SIM Card Missing' error. There may be a lot of time past before this message shows up. Just to prove I've checked when I had connection - I ejected SIM Card and I got No SIM Card Installed error instantly. Then I inserted card and iPhone found network instantly too.
    7. Some times when I connect the phone to iTunes it can't read Capaty! (shows n/a) and says: "iTunes can't read iPhone's contents - please restore...etc.
Hence I made a conclusion that there may be some hardware mailfunctions in antena/GSM/com module (I don't now how it's called). I hope it's just a bad stub connection of the parts or some minor issues in SIM-Socket.
Dear Supprot Team - have you any ideas or have you had such issues solved yet? As I'm in Russia now - I can't take my phone to Apple Service on warranty. And I don't want to pay much money for unofficial service. And of course I don't want to use my iPhone just as iPod (I paid money not for an iPod).
Please also tell me - when iPhone upgrades to new FW - does it erase all the internal drives and flashes new? Or it rewrites only some system drives? Is there any possibilty thet data from previous sync left on iPhone ?
I think there might be some file system mess during incorrect sync (I have no any other explanation on why iTunes some times can't recognize iPhone's contents and asks for restore even if restore just has been done).

  • I download the recent ios for iphone 4 and connected to my pc and it wont connect to itunes. What is the lastest version of itunes that DOES NOT support ios 7?

i download the recent ios for iphone 4. i connected iphone 4 to my pc and it wont connect to itunes. What is the lastest version of itunes that DOES NOT support the lastest version of ios?

Yes, due to Incomplete Software Update on your iPhone your Device is now in Recovery Mode and you cannot take a Backup now. But if you have taken a backup earlier then you can Restore that backup on your iPhone after you Reset your iPhone to Factory Settings.

  • TimesTen Cache Connect support for Oracle 11g

The latest 7.0.5 readme mentioned that "Oracle Release 11gR1 is supported with TimesTen Cache Connect to Oracle on Linux x86 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, and on Windows 32-bit."
What about Solaris 10? It looks like on Solaris 10 only Oracle 10gR2 being supported. What is so specific about Oracle 11?
    Thank you,
    Alex

TimesTen 7.0.5 can be used to cache data from different versions of Oracle database.
The reason why the support for Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX were not at the same time as the Linux platform was because Oracle database 11g was not available on those platforms initially. So TimesTen 7.0.5 was certified to support only the ones available first, and support for other platforms was added as 11g became available on those platforms. It was just timing of the certification, code base is the same.

  • Please Add LTE Band 12 Support for better connection

I was deeply disappointed to find the recent 5.1.1 release of Android didn't include adding Band 12 support to the Z3C! The Sony representative I spoke to in March said the phone had the radio to be able to connect via Band 12 and just needed to be enabled in the software. Recently you enabled Band 12 for the Z3 (http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/06/03/t-mobile-updates-its-xperia-z3-to-lollipop-throws-in-band-12-lte-support-for-good-measure/) so you clearly have the software to do this already, please please please add it to the Z3C software!!! For anyone on T-mobile it will equate to a substantial improvement in signal availability and strength, and everything else you do is much less important than that! Thanks.

What can be understood wrong with "VLAN support in Access Connections"? If you want to know what VLAN stands for, just google.
I know perfectly well what VLAN is since i work with networking every day and that's why i asked because i still cannot understand what maharaja mean by AC VLAN support. I asked because i might be able to help since i use VLAN with AC a lot so don't understand exactly what he find to be missing. I'm pretty sure what he is looking for is already there.
Not sure why you felt it necessary to post such a arrogant reply which is not helpful for anyone, but asking for VLAN support could be several things so that's why some further explaination would be necessary to understand what exactly the request is about. I guess you  made you point to tell everyone you know what VLAN is, but then you should also realize that the question in the first post might need some further explanation since the feature might already be there.

  • Saddened at the loss of support for 32bit hardware

My 32bit '07 Mac is crying and I am too,
As a strong supporter of Apple products early on I've been let down at the resent change to support only 64 bit hardware. As a old geek from the 80's I understand the movement to bigger, stronger, faster. Though as a father of 7 I don't have the luxury to keep up, even at a low end with the Macs. I have an '07 Mac and carried the news of how innovative and user friendly Apple products are to all my windows friends. They now continued to be amazed at the strong leadership into what I agree the future of this technology is. It saddens me that at this point I will not be able to even keep up at a cheap end. I hope in the next months support for 32bit hardware may arise. Though honestly I was hoping that as an early adopter of your hardware you may be able to do something on the low end to assist me. I just would like to continue to be able to support our company as it moves forward into what we both know the future holds. Pickup and play technology, seamless to the user.

  • Loss of internet connectivity after upgrading to windows 8.1

Hi, After upgrading to windows 8.1 from windows 8 i am experiencing major problems , loss of internet connectivity for no reason both I.E. and G/CHROME are now taking an age to open there are no virus issues as far as i can see.
I have uninstalled and re-installed  windows 8.1 about four times over the past 9 months or so and the same thing happens after all the updates are in it runs like a dream for say 6weeks or so then i get the same faults as described above then i uninstall/ re-install ok for 6 weeks .
I would apprieate any help or advice thanks

    Hi @BMATH
    Thank you your query.
I understand that after updating to Windows 8.1 about every 6 weeks you loose wireless connectivity for no reason  and the web pages are very slow to open.  If you uninstall and reinstall Windows 8.1 it works fine again for about the same amount of time.  You have done this about 4 times with the same result each time.
Do you know if there is any changes at that time , perhaps an update?
You stated you do not believe you have any viruses.  Just to be sure here are two links that will help confirm that.

  • Lack of support for rented movies

Last night I rented a movie from the AppleTV. It appeared to download okay. But when I tried to play it, all I got was a white screen.
I immediately tried to call Apple support. After a few minutes with the voice response system, it told me they were closed – call tomorrow. Why didn’t the voice response system say that at the beginning?
I called early next morning (6:30am PDT). After navigating through the voice response system, I got a technician who asked for my AppleTV serial number and verified that I had an AppleCare agreement. After about 20 min of research, he told me to unplug the AppleTV, wait 30 sec., then plug it back in and see if that fixes the problem. Well, it did – I could view the movie. He told me the problem is due to the way the firmware handles an HDMI connection – but only with rented movies. What??? The technician then said “good, we fixed the problem you’re good to go.”
I said not so fast – and asked how Apple was going to compensate me for going through the motions of downloading a rented movie, trying to troubleshoot and calling in (only to be told I was SOL), spending 45 min the next morning, and never being able to see the movie due to an Apple hardware problem. The technician put me on the phone with his “supervisor” - again a 5 min wait on hold.
The supervisor asked what was the problem – since I still had 12 more hours to watch the movie (we were talking at 6:30am). Then she had the audacity to say there wasn’t a “technical problem” since un-plugging the AppleTV reset it and I could now see the movie. I told her that I wanted to watch the movie last night and there most certainly was a technical problem at that time - i.e., white screen. She reluctantly said that she would “try” to get me a refund for the movie.
I then asked her how was I suppose to get support in real-time for AppleTV download issues? She again reiterated that their hours are 6-6 and they don’t accept support calls after 6pm PDT. She asked why I didn’t go on-line and seek help on the Apple Web site. Excuse me? I was sitting down to dinner with my family who wanted to watch the rented movie. Going off to a computer to research an Apple hardware problem wouldn’t have been politically correct under the circumstances.
I also told her that the technician wouldn’t talk to me without evidence of a AppleCare support agreement on the AppleTV. Hey, a rented movie wouldn’t play. Why do I need an Apple support agreement to merely get what I paid for? I asked, what if I had just purchased the AppleTV, how would I solve this sort of problem? She said that I could have paid a one time $49 support charge to get someone to tell me to unplug the AppleTV. Mind you, that’s a $49 charge to see a $4.99 movie due to a known problem with Apple’s firmware. Unbelievable!
Given the frustration of not getting the movie to play (at dinner time), no realistic support to fix the problem, and the baffling conversation with Apple’s insensitive support manager - all I was offered is someone will “try” to get me a refund.
Okay, this won’t happen to me again. Because I won’t be renting or downloading movies from Apple’s service. Sorry I bought the AppleTV - wonder if I can get a refund for it?

I agree the OP could not have known to restart the device but I do rather think their expectations after receiving help were unrealistic.
From the Applecare diagnosis it was an issue with the tv that led to the OP being unable to watch their movie when they wanted, not the rental, and technically one would need warranty or Applecare to receive phone based support for the tv.
I accept it was unfortunate the OP's experience wasn't as it should have been and that it was made a little worse by not being able to speak to someone out of hours, although I do see the need for staff to verify that Applecare has been purchased with each caller.
At the end of the day, the OP's issue was resolved and their was no financial loss to the OP. These things happen, it's unreasonable to expect, or fulminate over not getting, some form of compensation, (although it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask for the rental for free without expectation). What sort of compensation does one thing you would get from Canon if your video camera broke down in the middle of filming your sons graduation day ceremony.

  • Advice required on optimal MTU and MSS settings for GRE and IPSEC connections

    Hi,
We have 2 remote sites (Site A and Site B) which connect to our datacentres (DC) over IPSEC VPN and connect to each other over GRE tunnels.
We had some issues recently which we believe were MTU/MSS related (browsing web servers at one location not appearing correctly etc)
We got some advice from our Cisco partner and tweaked some settings but I'm still not convinced we have the optimal configuration - and we still have some problems I suspect may be MTU related.  For example, from our DC (connected to Site A by IPSEC), we CANNOT browse to the webpage of the phone system hosted at Site A.  Yet, we CAN browse to the webpage of the Site A phone system from Site B (connected over GRE)
Site A and Site B have two WAN internet circuits each - and each provider presents their circuit to us as ethernet.
Here are the relevant interface settings showing the currently configured MTU and MSS (both routers are configured the same way)
Can someone advise on what the optimal settings should be for our MTU and MSS values on the various interfaces or how we might best determine the values?

  • Apt-x Support for Bluetooth A2DP?

    Hi,
are there any plans to support the apt-X codec for the Bluetooth A2DP Profile? Maybe that could solve some of the bad A2DP audio qualitiy issues, that are still expierienced by some users (including me) on all the available phones (tested Pre- with 1.4.5, Pre+ with 1.4.5 and 2.1, Pixi Plus with 1.4.5, Pre2 with 2.0 and 2.1, all gave the same issues with different headsets and receivers!).
apt-X seems to be coming quite fast, not only because apple has built in support for it in it's latest products, but also because it offers CD level quality on low encoding cost, which is MUCH more than the poor SBC codec can deliver.
I hope HP with it's Beat audio line of products will consider adding such enhanced A2DP codecs to the mobile devices... wireless headsets are so much more convinient than anything wired can be. But at the momen A2DP sound quality is unbearable with my Palm handsets and I still have no clue where that issue arises from (my last guess is, that it's connected to me being an european costumer and we are few compared to the majority of the us costumers. As far as I understood there are differences in the radio part of the handsets between EU and US devices, so maybe those differences break A2DP Bluetooth quality).
Post relates to: Pre Plus p100ueu (Vodafone)

Thanks for all of the replies. I also saw in the Z white paper that the apt-X codec is not listed, so the question becomes "can apt-X be pushed via a software update?"
For those interested in streaming to your home stereo or powered speaker, here's what I ended up doing.
Purchased a Rocketfish Bluetooth Music Receiver from Best Buy (in the US). It is a pretty slick lttle device, about the same size as the power plug adaptor and it supports A2DP and apt-X. There are two audio outputs: analog via a headphone jack and optical. And it ships with a 6' 3.5mm stereo audio cable and a  RCA adaptor.
Setup was easy. Connect the audio to the stereo's AUX inputs, set the stereo's source to AUX, plug in the BT receiver power, turn on the tablet Bluetooth on the tablet and play music.
At first the sound was pretty compressed from MP3's, Pandora and the Google Play service. The fix was to go into the Google Play app > settings > equalizer. Click on "surround sound" and change the setting from "headphone" to "studio".Then play with the equalizer settings to tweak. Results in much improved audio.
Happy camper now... music streaming through the house and no wires!

  • MST Support for MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 - DisplayPort 1.2 - Will it ever happen? (with sources)

So back in October, I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro Retina (MBPr), fully loaded with top of the line specs.  I was soooo excited to have Thunderbolt 2 tech which Intel AND Apple describes as having DisplayPort 1.2a compatibility - which up to this point is unfortunately NOT the case.  The point of the information/questions and requests in this article is to engage a conversation about the issues of not having MST support after Apple falsely mislead their consumers to think otherwise - especially when it is clear the MBPr is capable.  Please read on...
Apple advertises that the Thunderbolt 2 ports on BOTH the MBPr and the new Mac Pro (NMP) will have 4K Display support with the famed 20gb/sec Ports (DisplayPort 1.2 only requires a little above 17gb/sec).  Now that the 10.9.1 update has been released, we have failed to see MST or Multi-Stream Transport enabled on the MBPr Late 2013.  Now, as for the New Mac Pro- it DOES have MST enabled in 10.9.1 with the AMD GPUs.  For all of you out there that's questioning what this means, short answer is basically the Mac Pro will be able to power a 4K Monitor at 60Hz through the Thunderbolt 2 Port but the New MBPr is stuck with only HDMI 1.4 support which tops out at 4K 30Hz. 30Hz is unacceptable for anything but movies or a photo slideshow.  At 30Hz the cursor will jump across the screen, eliminating any of the benefits of 4K.
    BUT it gets worse...
Apple can be seen advertising that the new MBPr 15" model can power a 4K monitor THROUGH the Thunderbolt 2 Port here: http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt - This article quotes the following:
"Now with Thunderbolt 2 built into the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can connect the latest 4K desktop displays and get double the bandwidth for your peripherals. And the two generations of Thunderbolt technology are compatible with each other."
Does this not let the consumer assume that the newest MBPr will be able to drive a 4K display through the Thunderbolt 2 Port?  I would say yes it does, but at the time I wrote this, the TB2 Ports can't power a 4K display because, as previously stated, MST is disabled in Mavericks for the 15" MBPr Late 2013.
NOW, later on Apple posted the following article on 4K support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
4K support on the MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013)
MacBook Pro supports 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates with the built-in HDMI port:
    3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate
4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution)
In the article above the New Mac Pro is listed as having support for a 4K Display with the Thunderbolt 2 Port (or MST DisplayPort 1.2a Technology) at 60Hz with no problem.  This leads myself and many others to believe that MST will NEVER be enabled on the newest MacBook Pro Retina with Nvidia GPUs. Yes, 4K IS supported but ONLY through the HDMI 1.4 port, which has the limitation of only 30hz.  This two-faced advertising is extremely upsetting to a LOT of people, including myself.
Interestingly enough, THIS IS NOT a hardware issue.  If one ventures into Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp and connects a 4K Display via the Thunderbolt 2 (or through DP1.2) Port, the Display registers at 60Hz, thus proving that the Thundberbolt 2 Hub Controller is completely capable of MST DisplayPort functionality.  Clearly this a driver issue with Apple, Nvidia or Intel or any combination.  What Apple has done here is forcing any professional that desires stable and clear 4K technology through their MacBook Pro Retina to do so only using Windows 8.1 on their own machines!  Definitely an oxymoron if you ask me...
Later on when the Mac Pro was ready for ordering, Apple placed the Sharp PN-K321 as a compatible option for a 4K Display.  On the Store page featuring the (over three thousand dollar) Sharp 4K display, located here http://store.apple.com/us/product/HD971LL/A/sharp-32-pn-k321-4k-ultra-hd-led-mon itor?fnode=53 Apple states the following:
"Note that 4K DisplayPort operation is only compatible with the new Mac Pro (Late 2013)."
All of that being said, and I'm terribly sorry for my wordy ranting...
This brings me to a final two requests to ANYONE reading this post:
    a) Has anyone working with the new 10.9.2 Beta Update seen evidence that DisplayPort 1.2 capabilities will be enabled for the new MacBook Pro Retina (Nvidia 750M) with the promised "Graphics Driver Updates" within the next Mavericks update?
    and
    b) To others that purchased or were/are thinking of purchasing a new MacBook Pro Retina with TB2 Ports: If you are just as upset as me about this crushing blow to consumers that just purchased a $3,000 laptop that were promised something that wasn't delivered - I urge you please, write to Apple and let them know they are making a mistake.  You can do this though the support page or through http://www.apple.com/feedback
Thank you for your precious time, and if anyone has anything to contribute to this issue, please jump in....

    GOOD NEWS!
The Mavericks 10.9.3 update adds official support for Thunderbolt 2, 4K!
I'm not sure if you will be able to daisy chain anything to the 4K display.  I've read that the design of Thunderbolt 2 includes support for DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream (MST), which allows this type of daisy chaining with 4K, but we don't know if Apple has this supported on it's machines.  Apparently it's been buggy in development because the graphics driver needs to work correctly with the Thunderbolt 2 host controller.  I'm sure they will work it out if they haven't already.
The above is all via found information on this topic, but you can follow some more discussion here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1713876
One more note on Thunderbolt worth sharing: always keep your fastest peripherals closer to the computer in the chain. If you have a TB1 device directly connected to the computer, anything further down the chain will be limited to TB1 speed/capability regardless of it's native speed.  Always connect TB2 devices first, and save anything TB1 for the end of the chain.

  • Possible to select self-signed certificate for client validation when connecting to VPN with EAP-TLS

In windows 8.2, I have a VPN connection configured with PPTP as the outer protocol and EAP : "Smart card or other certificate ..." as the inner protocol. Under properties, in the "When connecting" section I've selected "Use a certificate
on this computer" and un-checked "Use simple certificate selection".
My preference would be to use separate self-signed certificates for all clients rather than having a common root certificate that signed all of the individual client certificates. I've tried creating the self-signed certificate both with and without the
client authentication EKU specified, and I've added the certificate to the trusted root certificate authority store on the client. But when I attempt to connect to the VPN I can not get the self signed certificate to appear on the "Choose a certificate"
    drop down.
Are self signed certificates supported for this use in EAP-TLS? If it makes a difference, I'm working with makecert (not working with a certificate server).
    TIA,
    -Rick

    Hi Rick,
    Thank you for your patience.
According to your description, would you please let me know what command you were using to make a self-signed certificate by tool makecert? I would like to try to reproduce this issue. Also based on my experience, please let me
know if the certificate has private key associated and be present in the local machine store. Hence, please move the certificate from the trusted root certificate authority store to personal store.
    Best regards,
    Steven Song
