Switch through list one application to another

Hi,
i have created four application in workspace and all have same user_id password for login.
now i have created a list in new application this list has 3 option ,these 3 optios are differenet applications home page.
after click on this link particular application opens ,when i click on logout button of this application,i want control switch to application where list is specified
for example
main application is 104 and home page have a list with these option
transport application is 103 //application no 103
meeting application is 102
mis application is 101
as i click on transport application control swith to transport application after complition of task as i logout application (transport application) control back to the main application 104 home page so i swith to another application.
how can i do this?

1.Cookie Name --------?
2.Cookie Path --------?
3.Cookie Domain-------?
suppose one application path is
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=157:68
suppose Second application path is
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=115:1
and both application are in same Workspace
i want to switch One application to Second Application .
How to pass this application information in Cookie ?
How can i do this ?

I am passing a value APP_USER from one application to another application (item is P_ASK_U) through navigation bar entrees URL.

Hi Scott,
You are right, the first one do not need # character.
In the Doc it is mentioned as....
Pass the value on a URL reference using f?p syntax. For example:
f?p=100:101:10636547268728380919::NO::MY_ITEM:ABC
I am using the following URL, it pops up the external application, but it is not passing the APP_USER value to the page item of that application.
javascript:popupURL('http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=35129:1::P_ASK_U:&APP_USER.');
sorry I still do not know what I am missing..

Switch from one application to another without entered a login detail

Hi,
I have two application in same workspace and they have same authentication or login detail. if i switch from one application to another then it do not ask for login .
for examle if i switch to sample application there login detail is diffrent it ask for username as demo and passoword as workspace then it should for login detail.
can i create a menu of those application those have same login credential?
how can i do this?

Export and Import a page from one application to another within same WKSPCE

Hello,
Can anyone help me out in moving a page from one application to another within the space workspace. I tried to export it and then import the page, but I am not able to do that. I think the problem is with the application IDs.

This U can get it, through copying the page from one application to another application within the same workspace
In the top of the page, you have "copy" option.

You can also call a custom DTSX package in SSIS via the datamanager.
there are at least 5 ways of transfering data in BPC between apps.
1. Through the front end (excel etc) via evdre/evsnds
2. Through Script logic using *Dest App
3. Using BPC's standard export dtsx package via DM
4. Using SSIS using BPC's custom SSIS tasks
5. Through Script logic using stored procs.
i am sure people will come up with more.
remember if you use ssis and move data into any table but the wb, you need to process the cube afterwards.

The best way to do this would be to use destination_app statement. Please refer to the below link from help.sap:

Alternatively, you can definitely export the data from one application and import it to the second.

Page is NOT FOUND by app server after copy of one application to another

I have successfully copied one application to another, but this time after the successful copy (same workspac - I change the parsing schema after the copy ) I keep getting the following error for one page in the app when I try to branch to it from a button:
The requested URL /pls/apex/f was not found on this server.
When I put the url in manually in the address, I get the same error.
the page is available for edit in the application, but just refuses to be served up. I have edited the page; copied the page to a new page and still the same error. Anyone with any ideas?

Load data from one Application to another in BPC NW 7.5

I have a requirement to load data from One application to another application.
eg. HR Plannning to CostCenter Planning.
I am aware of a method to load data using transformation file mapping source and target dimensions and run DM package and this works fine.
However, the challenge is if i try to automate this process then i will have to hardcode the application tech name and save as variant to use that in process chain. Now, if i hardcode the tech name of the application then it might happen that during full optimization the tech name might change and the automation load will fail.
so how to handle this situation? any standard practices available?

Exactly. The main problem is that there is no statement to transfer the data. Please take a look at the below link from help.sap:

Since the structure of both the applications is same, you dont require add_dim or rename_dim, etc. However, you definitely need the when statement.
If you want to transfer all the records, then you can have something like
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS *
*REC(EXPRESSION = %VALUE%)
*ENDWHEN

Redirecting from one application to another

Hi All,
Anybody please tell me how to redirect from one application to another.
I have two application one is a1 and second is a2 inside orion.
a1 has a jsp file named a1index.jsp. and a2 has a jsp file named a2index.jsp.
in a1index.jsp file I am using response.sendRedirect("\a2\a2index.jsp") and redirecting to a2index.jsp. But it doesn't open a2index.jsp file as the syntex is not correct. .
Anybody please tell me what is the correct syntax to redirect from one application jsp to another jsp...

How to communicating one application with another?

I wanted to make a web site that have the ability to view,update,insert and delete record in a database. How to do that? How can one application communicate with another? example, I wanted to have XHTML communicate with Java and Java to communicate with my database that is pointbase database.

Multi-tier application communication is a somewhat complex matter. It may be made using differents techniques and designs. But like Sum-shusSue said, a typical Java-based solution would use these Java technologies: JSP (Java Server Page) for the presentation side (the client), Servlet or EJB (Enterprise Java Bean) for the server-side logic. The communication with the Database is made through JDBC.
I suggest that you take a look at the J2EE edition of Java. That stands for Java 2 Enterprise Edition and it is specifically made for enterprise system development, such as Servlet, JSP, EJB, etc...
This is a whole lot of new subjects and, from my humble experience, it is not that easy. i.e. I would not recommend it for strict newbies. However, if you have some months of Java coding on your side, maybe you should take a look. You can check first the left menu of this site, you'll find, under Technologies the sub-menu J2EE. There's also, somewhere on the site, tutorials on differents J2EE topics. Finally, I would recommend you this book:
Professional Java Server Programming, J2EE 1.3 Edition, edited by Wrox. Of course, there a lot of other books on hte market. J2EE is a hot topic!

I can see 2 ways of doing. Either you use parameters in the URL from the first application to the second, as any web application would do.
Or, you can think of using the Web Application Server let :
- the first application store the values
- for the second application to retrieve
Personnally, I would tend to suggest the first solution as it allows both applications to be replaced later on.
