Switching Consumer Groups

Dear All,
I had already posted my query as below but had not got appropriate answer so i am asking this question again which is as follows :
how can i give preference to a prticular SID ?
e.g :
SID = 76
There are other many Session running simultaneoulsy. I want to allow SID = 76 to execute SQL first inspite of the other session running previous to SID 76.
The reply that i got was
<<
You can do this two ways that I know.
Firstly use resource consumer groups and switch your active process into a higher prio group.
Secondly if you use Unix? Renice the process to a higher priority.
>>
I tried 1st option to switch the group from Oracle Enterprise Manager but it was giving me error.
I still not clear whether you give switch group authority when you create the user or you can there is some other way.
I also saw help in OEM but the concept is still not clear.
Ultimately while executing the session that i select has to get the highest priorirty. If anyone can explain with an example it would be great.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Best regards,
Devendra

If you are using resource manager to do this in 10g R2 it is failing miserably as oracle agreed that its a problem. 11g it is working perfectly.

      SELECT USERNAME,RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP FROM V$SESSION where username='SCOTT';
    USERNAME                       RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP
    SCOTT                          OTHER_GROUPSAny explanation ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
The Resource Manager can automatically switch a session to another consumer group when a certain condition is met.
    Automatic switching can occur when:
A session attribute changes, causing a new mapping rule to take effect.
A session exceeds the CPU or I/O resource consumption limits set by its consumer group.
So i suppose in this case second condition might have fulfilled so you are seeing the change.

  • How do I prevent firefox from switching tab groups when closing a tab?

I really like the tab groups feature, as it helps cut down on the number of tabs I have open at once. The problem is that when I close a tab, I sometimes get shunted to another random tab group. It is then a pain to get back to where I was before. Is there a way to force Firefox to choose among the current tab group for a tab to open?

This problem persists in Firefox 5.0 on all of my computers (Windows 7, OS X 10.6, and *any* Linux distro). It would be nice if Firefox was forced to remain within a single tab group until no more tabs remain. Also, if we have pinned tabs, closing the last non-pinned tab should select the nearest pinned tab, without switching tab groups.
This issue is pretty annoying. It would be nice to see a remedy. For reference, here is another post with the same issue: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/828677

  • How to export resource manager consumer groups using Data Pump?

    Hi, there,
Is there any way to export RM Consumer Groups/Mappings/Plans as part of a Data Pump export/import? I was wondering because I don't fancy doing it manually and I don't see the object in the database_export_objects view. I can create them manually, but was wondering whether there's an easier, less involved way of doing it?
    Mark

    Hi,
I have not tested it but i think a full db export/import (using data pump or traditional exp/imp) may help doing this (which might not be feasible for you to have full exp/imp) because full database mode exports/imports SYS schema objects also, so there is a chance that it will also import the resource group and resource plans.

  • Consumer Group/Resource Plan to use only one instance of a RAC

What would be the way to create a Consumer Group/Resource Plan to use only one instance of a RAC? I have 10.1.0.5 database

    Thanks,

You should use "services" to limit workload to just one specific node of RAC:

  • Resource Manager Consumer Groups

I have implemented Database Resource Manager by creating new plan and new consumer groups. We are running oracle 9i. At database level it is active.
We are running 11.5.9 oracle applications. At the profile option "FND:Consumer Groups" of apps, in lov only two values are appearing but not those which I have created at the database level.
How to reflect these new consumer groups in 11i apps ?

  • Switch tab groups shortcut not working on cyrilic keyboard

The "switch tab groups" shortcut, which is Ctrl+` is not working when I use cyrilic layout, because the ` corresponds to ч. Is there a way to make it always use the ` key no matter of the keyboard layout (the way Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V shortcuts work on Windows)

go to system preferences->keyboard->keyboard shortcuts->keyboard and text input and redefine this shortcut. I don't know what it's called in Italian but in English the shortcut is "move focus to next window in application".

  • When I use Tab Groups, can I have some tabs that are always open together with a group, and just switching the groups that are besides the "always showing" tabs?

I like to have some tabs always open, like for example the facebook page, while others I need only occasionally, like Ebay / Work / Fun (which I could put into Tab Groups). So I was wondering if it is possible to have the following configuration:
Always open Tabs (e.g. Facebook, Myspace) and then next to that ONE of the Tab Groups (e.g. Group Ebay Stuff and Group Work Stuff and Group Fun Stuff)
or alternatively have TWO Tab Groups open at the same time, like Group A and Group B, and then switch to Group A and Group C, then Group A and Group D, then Group A and Gourp B again.

Hmm, well you can right click a tab you want always open and click "Pin as App Tab". I personally don't have much experience with Tab Groups, I'm just learning how to use them.
    Hope this helps!

  • Address book won't let me switch between groups

OK, so I'm trying to send an email to a specific group "the guys", so I open a new message, hit address book to get my contacts and it's on all contacts. I try to switch to a different group, "the guys" and it won't. I tap on "the guys" and it just stays on all contacts. It also won't add anyone when I tap on all contacts.
I quit mail, open it again and try the same, this time I can switch groups. Now though, it only adds in the contact that was highlighted in all contacts. So I tap one of the contacts in "the guys" and try again, now it only adds him... not the other guys. So I highlight all the guys and tap them to add them in, this works.
That is, it works until I need to send another email... then it's the whole stupid process all over again.
I just moved up to snow leopard a few days ago... is there something I'm doing wrong? I don't get it...
Side note... I can switch between groups at will when I open the application for Address book. What a pain though!

Hmm, anyone have any ideas or similar experiences? I tried getting answers in another thread that seemed to have some similarities but it was suggested that I start my own thread. It looks like I've gotten a lot of views here but no answers.... Anyone? Help!
    Thanks for lookin!

    Hi Naveen,
Thanks for reporting this issue. We are taking a look at this issue.
    Questions:
Do you have multiple readers reading from this EventHub, or have you setup multiple Stream Analystics jobs reading from this event hub. You are hitting a limitation of how many readers are allowed per EH consumer group.
What is the serialization format of your input (JSON/CSV)? Could you please verify the serialization format setup in the streaming job and if it matches your data?
    Thanks

  • Add consumer group to System Plan

I am trying to write a SQL statement that will do the following:

Yes, you are correct. I misunderstood what I was reading. I thought in the example they were naming the plan. I will revise and see what happen.

  • Oracle consumer group

Hi, we are development one application with java and oracle. We have oracle 10G R2 SE. This application will be batch process in pl/sql every night, and some evenings. These proccess must be running in background, and we want priorize for online users. We don't want that plsql batch processes consum a high value of CPU and the online users can be slower. I read something about oracle consumer's group resources, but I don't understand very well.
Anyone, know which is the better way for do that? It's recommed the user of oracle consumers or another method?
    How can I use it?
    Thanks you very much!!

How can I use it?In simplest terms, a session is associated with a consumer group. The resource manager is used to define plans which describe the resources available to each consumer group. The resource manager is then used to activate one specific plan.
It is described in considerable detail in the DBA manual at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/dbrm.htm#i1010776
I am not sure whether this will help you in SE because according to the license manual the Resource Manager is only with EE. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/editions.htm#CIHDDBCG

  • Contacts app extremely slow switching between groups

After upgrading to Mavericks, my Contacts app is extremely slow loading contacts when switching between groups. Clicking on a group causes the beach ball to appear, and only after several about 10 seconds does the contacts in that group load. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

I had the same issue as you did -- for a few weeks now I've been suffering through agonizingly slow Contacts performance.
The way I resolved it was:
    1) Quit Contacts
    2) Go to system preferences and go into iCloud, then uncheck contacts -- choosing to delete from mac.
    3) Go into system preferences and to Internet Accounts and again uncheck contacts under any of the accounts it's enabled on (gmail, yahoo, etc).
    4) Go to your user's library folder (easiest way is to open a finder window, hold down the option key on the keyboard and from the Go menu, select Library).
    5) Delete anything referring to Address book or com.apple.address book....   -- check these folders in particular:
         - Address Book
         - Application Support
         - Caches
         - Preferences
    6) Restart your computer
    7) Go back into System preferences and enable contacts from wherever you want (iCloud, etc.)
    8) If it's not quite enabling (appears to enable, but checkbox doesn't show), then do one more restart of the computer.
    9) Now open Contacts and allow it to sync
