I am having trouble syncing microsoft outlook calendar with the ipod in itunes. Everytime I try to sync, a message comes up saying cannot be done, restart outlook and try again. Doesn't help though.

OK - I've found a way to get it to work. Went in to settings and did "create new settings", which effectively made it start from fresh.

Please can anyoe tell me how to sync my ipad2 and iphone 4s calendars with outlook and ical on macbook pro? All gone since last uograde (to Mavericks I think). Thia is a major isue for me and have already wasted hours on it. I now only have choce of "on my computer" in sync services drop down menu, no other accounts. And when syncing I now only have 4 steps not 6 as before. Have tried syncing with icloud - reluctantly but getting deperate. But that hasn't worked either. Tried changing categories of calendar entries, no joy.
This is a major issue for me - the whole point of multiple devices is the consistency between them. ANy help and advice gratefully recieved, though in plain English please, am no techie!

Yes, that’s all correct. A .Mac account (or any IMAP account, for that matter) allows you to keep synchronized only the mail stored on that account’s server. POP accounts and locally stored mailboxes cannot be synchronized, regardless of whether you have a .Mac account or not.
The closest you can get with a POP account is to set it up as follows:
1. Go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced and set Remove copy from server to something other than Right away (e.g. After one week), to give all the users and/or computers that access the account time to download all the messages before they are removed from the server.
2. Go to Preferences > Composing and check Automatically [Bcc:] myself, so all the users and/or computers that access the account receive a copy of every message sent. Note, however, that this is a global setting that applies to all your mail accounts. And if you do it, you may also want to erase copies of sent messages after a certain amount of time in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors to avoid having two copies of them.
The main disadvantage of this approach as compared to IMAP is that it merely ensures that all the messages are available to all users and/or computers that access the account. Read/unread status, mail organization, deletion, etc. cannot be synchronized for POP accounts and locally stored mailboxes.

I want to sync my claendars from my IPhone 3 G to my IMac which I have just upgraded to version 10.6.3
the IPhone doesn't show up on the left hand side of ITunes when I open it.
It opens in IPhoto though.
Do I have to upgrade my operating system even further on my computer or is it the phone.
Driving me crazy. Just don't want to lose my calendars that I have on my phone.

You need to update to 10.6.8 using Software Update.

Settings -- Calender -- Sync Option Missing | old appointments "lost"

I have a problem with my iPhone 4. In the past it was possible to adjust the time old appointments are "kept" in the calender. Unfortunately, I had to reset my iPhone and now (iOS 4.3.5) the option "Settings --> Calender --> Sync" in which I can adjust if and when my iPhone drops old appointments seem to be gone.
Does anyone know where Apple moved that option? I really need access to my old appointments.

Hi the same problem happened to me. If your have Icloud on your computer you can sign in and when you click oto your claendar they should still be there. Then plug in your Iphon with the usb cable and go to general, settingins then go into icloud and scroll down to storage and backup and click on that. it should restore what is on your computer.

I have no idea how to sync my iCloud calendar with gmail calendar. I keep getting two claendars, and the one under iCloud Home does not show up in gmail.

You can't sync an iCloud calendar with Gmail, you can view an iCloud calendar on Gmail's calendar service if you like, but they don't sync.

Try OS X: Resetting Sync Services - Apple Support.
Pay attention to this note: "Before resetting Sync Services, it is strongly recommended that you back up any important data that you sync regularly."
Then use the procedure listed for OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 and Later.

Ipod Calendar Syncs an hour out?

Hello All, Just started syncing my Ipod to my Outlook Calendar but after putting appointments throughout the year in I have noticed that some are shown starting and ending an hour early in my Ipod?
Any ideas??

I had the same thing only my claendar 3 hours out of sync. I did a "Reset All Settings" and it sync'd back correctly.

Syncing Calendar from Outlook to iPhone results in different times

Hi, I just got an iphone, but when i try to sync my calendar from Outlook, the events always show up as 6 hours later. For example:
In Outlook:
Band Rehearsal, 12:30 - 15:30
On the iPhone:
Band Rehearsal, 18:30 - 21:30
I've checked the time zones and they all match (Windows, Outlook and iPhone are all set to Amsterdam). Any suggestions? Thanks!

With help from google and some other people that have had the same problem I found the answer to this.
There is 2 regional settings on a iPhone.... (almost)
If you:
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Scroll down to Claendar- Time Zone Support
Then there is a time zone aswell... and when I changed this one everything went fine....
You could also just diable this time zone support aswell....

Ipod no longer sync purchased material?

Nothing I have purchased will sync to my ipod for some reason. I bought them ages ago, they work fine in itunes on my computer, and up until recently they worked fine on my ipod also... I think it related to the fact that due to a fault with vista i was forced to 'reactivate' windows. But it was reactivated using the same key that came with the computer? weird
Any help appreciated.

Have you tried to de-authorize your computer, then to re-authorize again?
Make sure to use that ID that had been used for purchasing those 52 tracks.

Cannot sync, error message "could not be read" for an iPod no longer in use

I have two problems. I upgraded iTunes to 7.2 and the very next morning my iPod died. It is completely unresponsive. Maybe it's coincidental. So I bought a new 80 gig iPod and gave it a different name than the old dead iPod. Now when I try to sync the new iPod, it goes for about 10 minutes, then it fails with this message:
Attempting to copy to the disk "old iPod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
It is complaining that it can not read the old dead iPod that is NOT hooked up to the computer! Somehow, minutes into syncing, iTunes has forgotten which iPod it is looking at. I have seen the article about the "cannont be read" message and it is not relevant. I need to make iTunes forget about the old dead iPod so it will stop looking for it. I've tried removing the files from "Documents and Settings" but iTunes still remembers the old unit. Where else does it store information? Any recommendations?

Okay, that can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see the following document:

IPod Touch will no longer sync...error message.

For some reason my older iPod Touch without a camera on it will not sync any more and I am getting an error message saying this iPod cannot be synced. Now I had it set up to sync over Wi-Fi and I would occasionally hook up to the computer with the cable and got error messages on both. Now I read something about removing the SC Info Folder. If I do that will that mess things up with syncing my iPhone?

What is the exact wording of the error message?

Cannot send email from iPhone5--calendar syncing issues also

I have an iPhone 5 and am not currently using iCloud. I have 3 email accounts.
The first is a yahoo email account--and it both receives & sends emails just fine.
I use Outlook for the other two email accounts (one is an IMAP and the other is a POP). Both receive email, but I cannot send out emails from my iPhone. When I try to send an email from either account, I get this message:
"A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The sender address "[address I used]" was rejected by the server.
Also, I don't know if it is related, but my iPhone calendar isn't syncing with Outlook. I add an appointment on my iPhone or in Outlook, and it won't appear in the other location (Outlook/iPhone).

IPhone Voice Memos Won't Sync

I have an iPhone 3GS and an iMac operating on OS X 10.6.8. When I sync my iPhone to the iMac, all of my voice memos transfer, except key memos dated before a certain date or 5/4/11. I can't figure it out. I've looked through all my preferences in iTunes and on the iPhone but without any luck. Any clue what the problem may be and how to fix it?

I got a way around it. It's a bit long but works. Email the memo to yourself and then download it. Then open it on itunes and find it inside the Music folder (top left). Then copy and place it wheneve you want. It's the only way I could managed to move them from the memo library to my prefered playlist (despite ticking the include voice memos box). For some anowying reason memos are not allowed to be moved around!

Voice Memos (iPhone app) doesn't sync to iTunes

"Include voice memos" is checked in iTunes but they don't sync, no playlist is made. The files are too large to email. Is there another way to make this happen? I've only just begun using the application in the past few days. Other notes: I have a new MBP (one week old) which replaced a previous MBP to which the iPhone was a long-time pal. Since I linked the iPhone to my new MBP, each time they sync, the same 17 podcasts (1 each from 17 of the 26 to which I'm subscribed) and the same 92 songs (out of the 2000+ in playlists chosen to sync) are transferred to the iPhone. Another issue probably...??? Thanks in advance!
