Sync from OVI Nokia Suite 3.8.48

My Nokia phone broke with all contacts on it, non on the SIM.
I have it dayly syncroniezed (bluetooth) with OVI but my last backup .nbu is from January this year.
Is there any way to get the contacts stored in the OVI suite back on my new phone?
Thank you very much
Matthias

My phone, a simple C2-1 is synced only with the OVI suite. All I care about are the contacts, about 430 and 40-50 added in the last half year.
Thanks for helping
Matthias

how can i import my contact list from the Nokia Suite to my I phone?

Oscar, keep in mind that my suggestion could not be the best one.
I have a copy of Nokia suite on my Windows XP partition on my Mac, just to test it.
The second icon on the upper row explains as a syncronisation with Outlook.
Try to do it and later you should use the iClod manager from Apple and Sync Outlook to ìiClod and to any iPhone iPod and so on.

  • Message from OVI Nokia App everyday at 130am How d...

I am getting a message from OVI Nokia App everyday at 130am How do I turn it off? It's driving me crazy.  It seems to be an internally generated message as I cannot respond to stop it or anything.  It says "Cool app on Nokia's Ovi Store" and has a different app everyday.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,
Some content items in Ovi Store have been sending out unwanted sms messages. So far seems like they are all from the publisher ‘CareMe’. The applications have a function that simulates a SMS being sent to the consumer. Many of these applications are actually “hidden” from the applications menu. Therefore to remove the “sms” and the application, please delete the application from the “installed applications” menu.
The SMS “feature” is now removed from updated versions of CareMe applications available at Ovi Store so if you still want to use those applications, please re-download the affected application(s) from Ovi Store.
If you notice some other than CareMe application sending SMS, please let us know preferably via Report abuse feature available at Ovi Store.

As Hub already posted, you need to copy tnsnames.ora from database E:\product\oracle\10.0.2\db_1 dir\network\admin into in E:\Datasuite_home1 dir\network\admin

    Hi,

When i wanted to change the sync options in nokia suite, the contacts, calender,...
i can select the folder, but it gives an error on it 83860036, before i can complete this action.
Anyone has a id how do i synchronize contacts, calenders, tasks,... from iCloud to my phone

    Office 2013
    Nokia E72

Yuppi!! Removing the Sync to Ovi.com solved it for me. I hav wondered if syncing OviSuite, Ovi.com and Outlook might be at bit too much to handle. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't.From now on I will do a Ovi.com sync separately as an extra backup only.

  • Nokia Suite Sync but it does'nt

    synchronize =
    1. To occur at the same time; be simultaneous.
    2. To operate in unison.
So why describe Nokia Suite as having a SYNC function?
All it does is copy mesages on the phone to the PC, to 'Sync' it should make what is held on the PC within Nokia Suite THE SAME as what is on the phone and viz versa.
For instance if I delete old messages from within Nokia Suite it should ALSO delete them from my phone, if I delete message from my phone it should also delte them from PC Suite.
I've just deleted a whole load of messages from Nokia Suite re-run the SYNC Messages and it does nothing all the messages I deleted on the Nokia Suite are still on the phone.
Why call it a SYNC funstion when it is not, or am I missing something?
When I SYNC Outlook Contacts this is exactly what it does and if for instance the same entry has been changed on both Outlook and the phone it will identify the conflict and ask me which one to kepp, THIS IS SYNCING.
Why can't it do the same with messages?

I'm not sure what it matters what phone, this is surely a Nokia Suite shortcoming, rather than a phone model based limitation?
But in answer to your question; my main concern is SMS's rather than MMS's and the phone models I've tried to Sync are from Nokia N96 through N8 and finally Lumia 920

  • Nokia suite wont sync messages after phone update

Nokia suite recommended me to upgrade my Nokia C2-01 phone, and after this was done it no longer sync new messages to the Nokia Suite application. I am disabled and purchased a Nokia phone just to be able reading my messages in my computer (since I can’t hold the phone in my hands) so this is now downright chaotic for me!
The pop-up box at the bottom right of Windows still announce when a new messages/SMS is received, but they never appear in the Nokia suite after the upgrade.
Edit: Just discovered some messages sent by friends are synced, but not all SMS I receive.

Check whether the latest Beta version of Nokia Suite makes any difference. You may download it from here . For downloading the installer, you need to log-in using the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum ...
...also, have you set Auto Sync in the Nokia Suite ? If so, try manual sync ..after connecting the phone to PC, in Nokia Suite -->Messaging .. click on SYNC at the bottom next to the phone icon and see if it works ...

  • Nokia Suite no longer recognises N9 after upgradin...

I have been regularly using Nokia Suite 3.2 with my N9, and so I recently upgraded to Nokia Suite 3.5. After some initial problems getting ownership of the Nokia file in the ProgramData folder, the install worked however now when I connect using 'Sync and Connect', Nokia Suite doesn't recognise my N9 - I can hear the sound notification of the phone connecting with the computer, followed almost immediately by the same sound notification of the phone disconnecting from the PC.
I'm running Windows Vista 32bit and having used system restore to roll back the install to version 3.2, I now cannot connect my N9 via Nokia Suite 3.2 either.
I've tried different cables to no avail. I do not have Bluetooth on my PC to try. I now cannot connect my N9 and my PC.
    How do I fix this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I seem to have had some success. After getting over the usual language and accent barriers with Nokia Customer Care, and after convincing them that Nokia Suite 3.5 was actually compatible with the N9, they suggested I repair both the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and also the PC Connectivity Solution file.
After doing this, Nokia Suite 3.5 still wasn't  recognising my N9. Re-installing Nokia Suite wasn't an option as it would mean deleting all the info stored in it (texts, contacts, etc), some of which are not stored in duplicate on the phone.
I decided instead to try repairing Nokia Suite via Windows, and to my thanks, this seems to have worked. At present all is well and Nokia Suite is now talking and recognising my N9 as it did in v3.2.
What is probably the most puzzling thing to come out of this is that in searching the web for a fix, it became very clear that Nokia have a lot of issues across the board in getting their phones to connect and talk to their UI's on computers.
The fact that they have maybe three to four separate UI's (PC Suite, Nokia Link, Nokia Suite, Ovi Suite) which only seem to be suitable for certain phones is archaic in my opinion. Surely it's time for Nokia to pool their resources and R and D into one UI that is functional across the board and across their phone range?
I think that would make the user experience a more friendly and enjoyable one.

  • Nokia Suite 3.3.86 connection with E7 lost via USB...

    Hi,
    I am having a Windows 7 64Bit system.
I updated 2 days ago from previous Nokia Suite (don't know the exact previous version) to the latest version 3.3.86.
After rebooting my system, no connection could be made anylonger to my smartphone Nokia E7-00.
I did everything available in the help, rebooting Phone, rebooting PC again. The bluetooth has gone, Nokia Suite says "no phone found (tried with my old E65 also), and if the USB cable is connected, nothing happens.
Though Windows 7 sees the phone, in the bluetooth and also using the USB Cable. I do have 1 error in the device manager "bluetooth periheral device driver", and I can't install it separately, it is not found.
I do hope someone here can help mé out, Since I lost all connection, no sync with calendar is possible, no installation of apps, no installation of maps, no backup.....you get my drift?????
My smartphone is now a normal Cell phone, only avaible for calls!!!
    Thanks
    Gerrit

    Hi GerritBeylemans,
Could you please try out these steps:
Exit Nokia Suite (File -> Exit ) and Disconnect you device from your PC
Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers
See if your device is listed there. Right click you device and delete it.
    Now connect you device
A bubble notification, "Installing device drivers for your device will appear up", click that bubble
See if all the things go successfully
If it is all OK then start Nokia Suite (If not, then take a screenshot of that and upload it in reply to this post)
Start Nokia Suite and see if your device is shown as connected
Now try out updating your phone software
I hope it will help you to connect your phone via USB.
If you still encounter the error, we would need logs as a next step to investigate it further.
For your bluetooth device, I would recommend you to check which bluetooth hardware is in your PC (Check the user manual of your PC). Then download the exact same drivers for your device.
When your bluetooth device is working properly, then you will be able to connect your phone to Nokia Suite using bluetooth.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Nokia Suite Team.

  • Nokia Suite and Nokia Software Updater problem

So I tried to synch my calendar and tasks this morning, as I usually do, from my office Windows XP laptop... and the synch failed.
The progress bar that should tell me how far along the synch has got just stayed empty.
After about ten minutes, I quit Nokia Suite, disconnected my phone, and reconnected it.
When I tried to restart Nokia Suite, I got a pop-up:
    Nokia Software Updater is running
Please close Nokia Software Updater , as it stops you from opening Nokia Suite. Then, click Try again.
I looked in Task Manager, and couldn't find Nokia Software Updater...
Any ideas what I can do, other than reboot?
    K.

    Hi Keith_Rhodes,
Sorry to hear about the situation. Please go to "Processes" sheet in Task Manager. Close the process Nokia Software Updater.
You can also go to Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Automatically download software updates > Disable it. Try to sync again.
If it still fails, please tick " Nokia Suite > Tools > Options > General > Start collecting logs, in case the issue does not get resolved and you have to contact Nokia Care line and they need them.
Please let me know how you get along!

  • Migrate Nokia Suite between windows accounts

I have recently changed my home pc so that each user has their own account, I now want to move my Nokia Suite settings to my personal windows account rather than the shared windows account.
My issue is that I have a lot of photographs stored on my N8, these have already been uploaded to windows (shared account) - but if I connect the N8 while logged in with my new windows account Nokia Suite tries to upload all the photos again, this would turn into a massive problem for me to sort out manually.
What can I do to migrate my Nokia Suite data from one account to another - I see there are hidden "Nokia" and "Nokia Account" folders in AppData/Local... would it be sufficient to copy these or is there other stuff that I would be missing?

    Hi dylanf,
You can see the help of Nokia Suite "Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer", the same applies to creating a new account or profile on your same computer.
If you had your Photos and Videos from your phone stored on your shared account on PC in the standard Windows Pictures and Videos folders. You just need to copy them those to your new account's Pictures and Videos. This way you will not need to copy those photos again from your phone to your new account.
I copied here the instructions from the Nokia Suite help. Nokia Suite -> Help -> Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer.
When you are switching to a new computer, it's easy to move your contacts, messages, media files, calendar information, bookmarks, and web feeds from Nokia Suite on your old computer to Nokia Suite on the new computer. All your files stay safe and you can continue using Nokia Suite just like before. See below for detailed instructions on how to move different content types to your new computer.
    Music, photos, and videos
The music, photos, and videos you see in Nokia Suite are stored on your computer just like any files and you can move them to the new computer with the help of Windows Explorer and an external hard drive, such as a USB memory stick. In the options of Nokia Suite, check if the program saves your media files to the standard Windows folders for music, photos, and videos (such as Music, Pictures, and Videos on Windows Vista and Windows 7 or My Music, My Pictures, and My Videos on Windows XP), or if you have chosen to save them in some other folders. To check your options, open the Tools menu, click Options, and then go to the Music and Gallery tabs.
Note that if you have created music playlists or photo albums in Nokia Suite on your old computer, you need to create them again when you start using Nokia Suite on your new computer.

  • Nokia Suite/Nokia Store finally working

I had not tried downloading/installing an app from the Nokia store from within Nokia Suite in quite a while, as it never seemed to work. On a lark, I decided to see whether anything had changed since installing the latest version of Nokia Suite. To my surprise, the selection of apps offered was correct for my phone; the selected apps were downloaded and installed in one step, and the 4 apps that I tried out all worked. I'm glad that Nokia has finally apparently gotten the kinks out of the procedure, as this is now on par with its equivalent through Apple/iOS or through Google/Android.

I think development of Nokia Suite has already stopped.

  • Nokia Suite 3.2.100 Contact backup

I am using Nokia Suite 3.2.100. Is there any way I can save my contacts from phone as csv file or as individual contacts (vcf) file? Earlier version, it was storing contacts in mdb file, now in which format and where the files are stored in the system ? I am not instrested to put my backup on internet.

Have u tried copying them to a notepad file from the Nokia Suite directly instead of the folders in ur installed files?

    Hi,
In order to backup onto my laptop, synch'd contacts using Nokia 3.2.100. Found that while contacts on memory card were synched successfully, SIM contacts weren't.
Is this a known issue with this version of Suite. Know that earlier Nokia PC Suite would backup SIM contacts also.
Also unable to login in to Nokia account from Nokia 3.2.100 as login tab keeps coming back. Use same login successfully on any web page.
Look  forward to responses on above issues.
    Cheers
