Sync iCloud with windows contacts

I am upgrading from MobileMe to iCloud in windows 7, w/ MobileMe I sync with my Windows contacts not with Outlook contacts (I can't stand bloated outlook app). I don't see this option in iCloud - does this mean Apple is not supporting syncing iCloud with Windows Contacts? If so I am very disappointed in Apple.

You're correct, Outlook is the only supported client for Windows, and I agree with your assesment of Outlook. There is an usupported alternative in eMClient, which does look a lot like Outlook but is simpler and snappier.
Setup is manual, mail is easy as are contacts and calendars, if you want to try it post back and I'll look for the server address information.

Syncing iCloud with Windows Outlook

I cannot get my iCloud calendar to sync properly with Outlook on my PC. I uninstalled/reinstalled iCloud control panel which did update the calendar in Outlook, but it won't regularly update appointments from iCloud to my PC - nor will appointments I put in Outlook update to iCloud. I don't want to have to install/reinstall everytime to get the two to talk to each other.
I have seen discussions about a 'iCloud refresh button' in Outlook, but I can't seem to find it.
I am running Windows 8, Outlook 2013, iPhone 4 and iPad Mini (both with iOS 7.0.4).

That is what it does. There is no sync, you have a new calendar.

Sync iCloud with gmail contacts

Hi, I need to sync my icloud contacts to gmail.
Means that my iPad's contacts and Google phone contatcs will be synchronized.
I have more contacts In icloud than in gmail...
I reviewd few comments but all were the other way around (from gmail to icloud).

Syncing iphone with windows 7 contacts - error message outlook.pst not foun

I have set set up ITunes to sync my Iphone GS with Windows Contacts. When I sync I get an error message :
The file c:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\Outlook.pst could not be found
Sometimes the error message comes up 2 or 3 times.
Secondly, my Iphone is syncing with something because an old version of my windows address book is now on my iphone. Of course if I add a new contact to Windows Contacts, it does not appear on my iphone.
I dont have Outlook installed on my PC. It was removed, but I guess I do have an old outlook.pst file from my old times with Windows XP.
So how does Itunes manage the sync and how can I stop it syncing with my old address book and use Windows Contacts? I have tried resetting my sync history but it did not work.
I am running Windows7 (upgrade from Vista).

I am also having issues with syncing my Iphone 3GS with the latest version on Itunes. I have for a long while now been doing just great. My contacts, phone numbers, emails have all synced very nicely, no problems. As soon as I downloaded the new Itunes 9.1 I can no longer sync contacts, and calendars, as usual.
I tried several things that were suggested to me in the troubleshooting but nothing has helped. It usually tells me that my computer is not set up for syncing, and after arranging that it still doesn't work. As well, it says it cannot find the requested services.
Please help.

An extra group 'on my iphone' appeared after i sync with windows contact via itunes

I am having this problem which appears to be happened after i sync with my computer. In the contact group, there is an extra group 'on my iphone' appeared after i sync with windows contact via itunes, and even though now i stop syncing already, the group is still there. Can anyone here give me some suggestion on how to remove this group permantly, i not just wanted to remove the contacts but the entire group form appearing on my iphone. Thanks.

Is the app compatible with the iPhone (e.g. it's not and iPad-only app), and do you have the relevant iOS version on the phone ? Or do you have Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps set 'off' on the phone which will stop new apps being installed ?

I synced icloud with outlook 2007 and now all emails that i had in inbox and all personally named folders( with emails in them) are gone, how do i retrieve them?

Options for Syncing Calendar with Windows without Outlook

How can I synchronise my iPhone calendar with my calendar on Windows Vista. I have Windows Mail, and understand that iTunes does not support synchronisation with Windows Mail. What are my options, other than buying Outlook? Windows Live Mail and/or Windows 7? Via Gmail?

Windows Mail is an email client only, which was a name change for Outlook Express with Vista. Windows Mail does not include a calendar.
The iPhone supports syncing contacts and calendar events with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.
If you are able to sync Gmail calendar events with the calendar application included with Windows, you can access a Gmail account with the iPhone's Mail client as an Exchange account via ActiveSync, which provides for over the air syncing for Gmail online contacts and calendar events.

Photo sync problem with Windows Vista?

I did some searching and was wondering if there is a solution to the photo sync problem with Windows Vista. I have gone the route of changing some of my photos to bitmap files but this is was way too much work just to view on ipod. I like to email Apple but could not find a link to do so. As far as I know I have all updates but still the iPod does not sync photos. Is there an update to this that I am missing or am I stuck changing all my photos to .bmp files?

Would it make a difference if I purchased Adobe Photo Album or would I still be stuck with changing and saving files to .bmp extensions? I have Adobe Photoshop album starter but still have to change file extensions.
If someone has a solution to this problem I would really be greatfull. I did contact Dell as this is a brand new computer and that was a wash. They did give me a number for Apple but of course I bought the iPod off of ebay and has no warranty on it so unless I pay a fee I'm not calling. It just blows my mind that Microsoft and Apple can't or won't come up with a fix. But I guess when Microsoft wants you to buy the Zune or Apple wants you to buy the overpriced Macintosh why would they waste time on having there products compatible with each other.

IPhone 3GS SYnc problems with Windows 7 64 Bit

I am having sync problems with windows 7 64 Bit.
The iPhone syncs a few tracks then hangs, a few minutes later itunes tells me the iphone has timed out.
Anyone have any ideas about this. I have tried different USB ports, cleaned the apple USB cable contacts with Servisol, restored the iPhone and reinstalled itunes.
iPhone and iTunes are latest versions.

Ok here's what I did:
1) Connect the iPhone (iTunes had been installed)
2) No MTP driver installation is happening as Windows detects iPhone successfully
3) Open Device Manager
4) There seems to be 2 drivers for iPhone that are active now, although I still can't see which one is the MPT driver you're referring to.
One of them sits under Portable Devices: "Apple iPhone". If I view the details of this driver, it lists the following files:
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\winusb.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\WUDFRd.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtp.dll
- C:\Windows\system32\WpdMtpUS.dll
The other one sits under Universal Serial Bus controllers: "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". And as indicated by Joe above, it lists the following files when I view the Details:
- C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\usbaapl64.sys
- C:\Windows\system32\usbaaplrc.dll

It sounds like an earlier version of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software installed on your PC may be conflicting with this installation.
I would advise uninstalling both versions of the BlackBerry Desktop Software then reinstalling the latest version.
