Sync iPad with an internal network via WIFI and file exchange?

Hi all,
Our architects firm is currently trying to cut down on its paper waste. One sollution we are exploring is a system by which Ipad's can be synced with our internal file network (via wifi), we can download onto an Ipad PDF files which can be viewed, annotated and reuploaded via the network. It would be essential that the network is internal and isn't an icloud type of thing. Is such a system possible?
Thanks

Look in the app store for accessing Windows File servers.
for example:

I don't know about upload though.

  • Wired Connection to An AE that is extending network via wifi

I have 2 Airport Extremes. The first is a 2nd Gen model the other is a 4th Gen.
The 2nd Gen model is connected to our modem and has made a working home network for a number of wired and wireless devices.
I also have an older mac pro with no wi-fi card installed. What I'd like to do is use the 4th gen Extreme to connect to the Mac Pro via ethernet to get the mac pro on the network via the wifi Capability of the Extreme.
Using one of the other computers I have been able to configure the 4th Gen to extend the network via wifi and other wifi macs can see it on the network and it appears to be working as expected but when I connect the old mac pro I get no networking or internet through it.
The mac pro's network control panel shows it as being connected through wi-fi even though it is actually an ethernet cable into the 4th gen AE. Selecting ethernet gets me nothing.  The mac pro also doesn't seem to be getting the correct IP addresses.
Is there an incompatibility between the 2nd and 4th gen models that I'm unaware of that won't let them do this?
Just to reiterate I'm trying to go:
    Modem---> 2nd Gen Extreme---> Via WiFi to ---> 4th Gen Extreme ---> Mac Pro's Ethernet.
    Can it be done?
    Thanks

In order to enable the Ethernet ports on the 4G Extreme for the Mac Pro, both AirPorts need to be configured for an extended network. Please read through the steps provided in the link to see if you may have missed any steps.

I'm having the same problem with my 4S. I have to constantly reboot my iMac or turn off my phone a few times to get it to sync. Before when I had 5.1.1 everything seemed to work just fine. I'm sure its a bug......
Both my ipads running 5.1.1 have zero issues syncing via wifi or directly plugged in.

  • Hello my iphone 3g can not connect to home network via wifi

Hello to all, with my iphone 3g can not connect to home network via wifi. This only happens if I apply protection to the network. Unprotected my Iphone connects fine. Obviously the password to write error-free. I can not figure out what depends on this factor, however, another iphone connects fine. Help me please.

I have a similar, but slightly different problem. My iphone 4 recgonizes my home wifi and shows it under Settings, but will not access it, no signal shown, just 3G.  It will access other wifi signals.  My wife's iphone works fine, as does an ipad and macbook.  This is new for my iphone, about 2-3 days.
Help!  I reset network settings and rebooted the router (Apple), no avail

  • Use of MapTool on environment with no internal network

Is it possible to use MapTool on an environment with no internal network? All nodes are directly linked to the internet

If you have access to a FireWire equipped Mac that is capable of running 10.2, then you can do it. The iBook G4 can't run 10.2, though.
If you do manage to get access to one, here's how to do it:
    1. Start the PowerBook G3 in Target Disk Mode (hold down 't' on boot.)
    2. Connect the PowerBook G3 via FireWire to the 'host' computer. (I'll call it an iBook, just for ease of talking.)
    3. Start the host iBook up off the 10.2 CD.
    4. Install to the 'external FireWire drive' that is really the PowerBook G3.
    5. Reboot the PowerBook G3, it will be running 10.2
I used a similar method to get Tiger onto a Lombard (USB, no FireWire) G3. I installed to a hard drive that was in a combo FireWire/USB hard drive, then 'Carbon Copy'ed that drive via USB onto the Lombard's internal drive.
But, since your iBook requires 10.3 or newer, I don't think you can use that method with your setup. The only way you could do it is with an external FireWire CD drive. (Which IS bootable on that model.)
Unfortunately, I know of no way of convincing the computer that an external hard drive is really a CD drive, and no way of convincing your iBook to install 10.2 onto any drive. (I just tried rebooting my 10.3+ eMac with a 10.2 install CD, no go.) Of course, if you had a legal 10.3 or 10.4 install CD/DVD, you could install one of those onto the PowerBook using the method above, since the iBook is happy to install them.

i try to connect to my windows shared network via wifi, but it doesn't work.
    here's the error message
please help me to solve this problem
    thank you.

Check the settings on your iPad for automatic downloads.....
Settings>Store>Automatic Downloads>Apps. If it is enabled, turn it off. The apps shouldn't download again as far as I know, but this is a good a place as any to start.

  • HT1535 I own an iPhone4, an iPod 3rd generation and an iPad 2. I use the same iTunes library but unfortunately synced iPad with a different computer before syncing to my own. Do I risk losing the films/apps I've downloaded onto my iPad if I sync with my i

I don't want to sync what is on my iPod to my iPad. (I have a 32gb iPod but only 16gb on iPad. The iPod I use mostly for music.) I can't seem to add the films I have downloaded onto iPad to iTunes. If I could do that, I could erase them from iPad to create more storage.
    This is intensely confusing, sorry.

    Question.....
"I own an iPhone4, an iPod 3rd generation and an iPad 2. I use the same iTunes library but unfortunately synced iPad with a different computer before syncing to my own. Do I risk losing the films/apps I've downloaded onto my iPad if I sync with my iPod?"
    Answer.....
Yes you will lose the films that you downloaded to the iPad when you sync with your own iTunes unless you transfer the purchases into your own iTunes library. Were these movies that you purchased? If so, you might be able to download them again for free. Do you have multiple computers that you sync from or is this someone else's purchased content?
You can select whatever you want to sync to all of your devices in iTunes, you do not have to sync the same content to all device.

while syncing iPad with my computer, i get an error message: cannot back-up to this computer. I'd like to know why?  Is it safe to download IOS6 if the ipad is not backed up?

  • Lost my apps when sync iPad with iTunes

when sync iPad with iTunes, apps purchased in iPad by another account were lost, and the apps can't be seen when check for available downloads. How to get back the purchased apps? thanks.

If you lost all your apps on both the iPad and the computer, you can download the apps again at no cost. You can search your emails for app store purchases if you can't remember all the apps that you have downloaded.

  • I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred?

I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred before I can run the iOS update or I will lose them.  What should I do?  How do I figure out what purchases have not been transferred?   I went into iTunes on my Mac and ran "Check for available downloads" and I still get same message.

The 'cehck for available downloads' checks if there is anything in the store that you haven't yet downloaded, it won't copy anything from the iPad. Have you tried doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ?
