Sync looks hanging in download phase in C$ALL_SNAPSHOTS (last item)

The synchronizations are “hanged” for a long period on time in the download phase on the last 2 items:
PI_APP_PUB_PROPERTIES
C$ALL_SNAPSHOTS
The time is bigger if the number of clients synchronizing at the same time is bigger as well.
I have taken some detailed cycles and the Total Sync Time does not fit at all with the sum of the time used for all the items during upload plus download… this difference is very high!
Did anybody faced a similar problem?
Below some examples:
session_id = 1106
SYNC_SECS = 428
UPLOAD_SECS = 3
DOWNLOAD_SECS = 425
SUM( UPLOAD_ITEMS_SECS) = 2
SUM( DOWNLOAD_ITEMS_SECS) = 279
Where are the 147 seconds of diff used for?!!
session_id = 1135
SYNC_SECS = 664
UPLOAD_SECS = 5
DOWNLOAD_SECS = 659
SUM( UPLOAD_ITEMS_SECS) = 4
SUM( DOWNLOAD_ITEMS_SECS) = 407
Where are the 253 seconds of diff used for?!!
Thanks everybody in advance.

Hey Tomeu
Try the following:
On the new associated CMP$ table, insert about 5000 or 10000 bogus rows. Run stats and then delete the rows.
I will try to sum up what the problem is, it isn't actually related to Oracle Mobile but with the database engine itself. You have a table CMP$ size 0 rows, mobile server inerts N amount of rows. When the download is complete, there is a cleanup process that run individual update statements in a batch/cursor scenario. The update statements actually use ROWID to update each row... and you would think the explain plan at this point uses the pk index to get the row required for update, it actually does a Full Table Scan on the N number of rows. If stats are collected when there is some data in the table, it will for the update statement to use a better explain plan to perform the update.
Now, if MGP is timing out, then there are a couple of issue that are happening... the C$ALL_SNAPSHOT issue could and should cause a timeout issue of MGP. A correction to this would be to convert the table that is causing this issue to Queue based refresh. Another issue could just be the type of SQL query that you are running in that snapshot isn't effecient with MGP/Sync and may need to be altered to perform better. Use of query caching can help, I would attempt that before queue based refresh though. So in this order, your performance tuning technique should be this:
1. Check the SQL and see if it can't be tuned to get better results.
2. Enable Query Cache for the snapshot
3. Queue-based refresh.
Let me know if you have questions.

  • TS1702 I was notified that I had two aps that needed update.  I tried to update the two and they froze for over a week in the downloading phase!  So I removed both and tried to download as e aps...new.  Same problem.  They froze in the installing phase.

    I was notified that I needed to update two of my current apps.  I tried to do so and they both froze in the install-update phase.  So I discontinued them and tried to download as new.  they froze again During the install phase.  So to test the apps in general I tried to install a completely new app.  It also froze in the installing phase also!  Please help me.  Thanks.

    Once one app stalls in the downloading phase, every other app behind it will probably stall as well. Do not try to downloads any other apps until you get this resolved.
    If the Apps are showing the "waiting" icons, try some of theses suggestions and see if one of them will get you out of this predicament.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Sync manager hangs without Outlo

    Hey, folks!
    I'm new. Joined up because I'm having a problem and so far Tech Support is not helping.
    I have a ZEN Vision:M 30Gb. My comp runs Windows XP. I don't have Outlook. When I try to run the Sync Manager, it opens a dialog to set up Outlook even though I configured the Sync Manager not to synchronize with Outlook. When I click Cancel to get out of the Outlook dialog, I get an alarm box complaining that Outlook couldn't be opened. I click its OK button, and then Sync Manager hangs until I reboot.
    Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a good fix? Tech Support suggests I download the newest version of the sync manager, but I can't find it on the downloads page. (there's nothing mentioning it under MP3 Players>ZEN>ZEN Vision:M.)
    Thanks in advance for any info/advice!!

    I don't understand what you're getting at with your question, but I am having the same issue. When syncing music, I will get an error message, the kind that wants me to send an error report to Microsoft. Then it shuts sync down.
    TTT for ya.

  • TS3276 Is there a way to sync POP subfolders and download them for backup in Mail on my MBP? I tried syncing the account with Mail and only the Inbox downloads onto my computer.

    Is there a way to sync POP subfolders and download them for backup in Mail on my MBP? I tried syncing the account with Mail and only the Inbox downloads onto my computer. I have Googled enough to find out that the answer is no, but no official answer or recent answer and I am hopeful that there has been a change.

    Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac.  You should be able to set a password for it. Save it.  Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer,  I suppose,  back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity.  As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
    you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
    This handy article from Apple explains how
    How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
    don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
    and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
    time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine  and go for it.  You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups  of your stuff.

  • All apps hang when downloading

    Since my Macbook Air ran empty on batterie (and crashed), no application can download anything any more.
    Safari, Mail attachments, software updates, you name it: every application hangs when trying to download anything.
    I emptied Safari caches, looked at the Downloads folder, checked available disk space - no idea.
    Does someone have a hint ?

    I have checked 'deleting apps' under settings, but it doesn't work.
    I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. "Deleting apps" is a setting that you can enable in restrictions that prevents someone from deleting apps.
    Or do you mean that you cannot delete apps in Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Show all apps. Tap the app that you want to delete and then tap Delete App in the next screen. If you haven't tried that, give it a whirl and see If that works.
    There are two basic troubleshooting steps that you can perform that might help. Reset all settings and reset your iPad.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. No data will be lost but all of your device settings will have to be entered again.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.

  • Hi want to sync an app I downloaded on my iPad to my iphone4?

    Hi want to sync an app I downloaded on my iPad to my iphone4?

    Sync-ing as in having the app on both iGadgets? Either sync the iPad onto iTunes on a computer (which will cause a local backup copy to be stored there) then plug in the iPhone and instruct iTunes to copy the app over (look in the Apps tab in the iPhone's main window in iTunes).
    Or open the App Store in the iPhone and look in the Updates / Purchased screen. From there you can download the app onto the phone.

  • Rt2860 wifi network hangs on downloading big files.

    After upgrade to 3.2 kernel now my rt2860 pci card is not working properly. Wifi connects fine, and i can browse the internet and download small files. But if i try to download a big file (> 1 gb) over the LAN, it starts and then hangs after downloading 8-10 mb. I have to disconnect the network, and connect again.
    I fixed it by installing rt2860 package from aur: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14557 and blacklisting 2800pci.
    I would be happy with this solution, but now every time a kernel is updated i loose rt2860 after restart, and i have to manually recompile and instal the aur rt2860 package again.
    Are there any tweaks or config to fix the rt2800pci hanging problem ? or how can i make it not to loose aur package after every kernel upgrade ?

    I do not use rt2800pci on either Arch or Ubuntu. For me, it just doesn't work. You are doing better than I, because I can't get a connection at all with it.
    I put up with the effort of recompiling rt2860 after every kernel update, because it works. Besides, it helps me keep up my chops on compiling and installing kernel modules.

  • My macbook wont sync the music i downloaded onto a flash drive and onto the mac book what do i do?

    My macbook wont sync the music i downloaded onto a flash drive and onto the mac book what do i do?

    If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc.  you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
    You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
    You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
    If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod.  I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard.

  • I have a dial up connection and I'm looking for a download accerator that will automatically start when the download(update) starts.

    I have a dial up connection. When I get a program update that
    may be 100M in size it can take a lot of time. I'm looking for a
    download accelerator program that will automatically start in
    this kind of situation. I know there are programs that if you
    know the site and the name of the download you want, you put
    this info in and the accelerator program works. But there is
    no way that I can figure to put this info in when a program
    tells me an update is available and then starts a 7hr download.

    That's the size of Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe, which I started to download but figured there had to be more.
    So, you're saying that once that downloads and you run it, there's nothing else to get online? I could run Firefox Setup 6.0.2.exe successfully while not connected to the Internet?

  • I synced my iphone before downloading newest update and now I've lost my purchased ringtones.  How do I retrive them?

    I synced my Iphone before downloading the newest update and lost all my purchased ringtones.  How do I get them back and what do I do differently next time so it doesn't happen again?

    I'm having the same problem.  Mine do not show up in the purchased apps.  It seems like I had this problem before with a different upgrade & was able to resolve it by emailing the question to Apple directly.  Now I can't seem to find how to do that on their website or if it's even an option.  I guess we're just supposed to solve these problems ourselves.

    When I sync my iPad to download new pictures to my library, my existing library gets deleted. How can I stop this from happening?

    The way I sync mine is to have an 'master' folder on my computer, and underneath it I have separate folders for the photos that I want to sync to the iPad - I then select the master folder in iTunes and the folders underneath it are synced to the iPad, each getting their own album.
    There is some info on syncing folders on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
