Sync Mediator calling Async BPEL

Hi,
I have an Synchronous mediator which will invoke an Async BPEL. Aync BPEL will do some processing and need to send the response back to the mediator which is not happening.
Any ideas on how to get the response from the Async BPEL pass on to the Sync Mediator which is calling the Async BPEL.

Its async. It would not synchronize with a response. it doesnt matter if you link sync to async. In case, if you really want a response , please change your async to sync.

  • Mediator calling two BPELs problem.

    We have a composite containing a mediator that calls to two different BPELs. It works fine on two environments but on the third when it calls to one of the BPELs nothing happens. It just sits there in Running status, no faults or errros. Any general advice on what we may have done wrong and could possiblty look for or SOA limitations.

    Is binding location of the BPEL reference is from the same environment where your mediator is deployed?
    It once happened to me that my BPEL composite deployed on server1 by mistakenly was pointed to another BPEL process deployed on server2. So i was not able to view the flow trace in EM console. The status showed running in server1, and ended in server2.

  • How to return fault from Async BPEL

    Hi,
    I have ESB that has input,output and fault, This ESB calls Async BPEL that takes only input. Now i want to return fault from BPEL to ESB. How do i do it?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    My use case is i am implementing AIA. So my enterprise layer is ESB and my ABCS provider is BPEL. As provider takes lot of time to complete the instance, to avoid timeout issue i just created Async BPEL with two ports one for input another for fault. I am able to send back my fault back to this call back port. But how i can receive the fault to the same ESB which called the BPEL?
    I am not able to implement it. I can not go for any workaround like creating one more BPEL and then make it as sync, put pick activity and receive the fault then send back to ESB.
    Thats the reason i am very specific. If you find some solution please let me know.

  • Sync and async bpel process

    Hi,
    I was reading about the synchronous and asynchronous process in the forum, I have also some similar problem.
    some of my questions are:
    If suppose my BPEL process is going to take around 2 mins or more to finish , then I cannot chose synchronous BPEL process as the default timeout is 45sec and not recomend to increase the time.
    As the above is true, I have created a asynchronous BPEL process, now I want the reply back from asynchronous, is this is possible? even I found that when I invoke the partner link of asynchronous BPEL process it doesn't ask for the output variable. SO if any process going to take longer time and need response from that, whats the solution.
    Regards,
    Sreejit

    Hi James,
    Thanks, yes you are correct that receive is required for the response from async process.
    Do you have any idea how we can get the response back if we are calling the asyn process outside the SOA server, say from PL/SQL or Java API. PL/SQL can call the sync process and get the response back but in case of async process it returns null as the callback response of async not send the response to database. Is this possible with java api, any link or sample which illustrate this or any step suggestion. Actually I am trying to call the BPEL process from Oracle Apps R12 E-Business suite.

  • BPEL Sync process vs Async process

    Hi All,
    I am bit confusing with Sync and Async BPEL processes
    Can I invoke another BPEL process in whatever way(Sync/Async) I want without considering whether invoked process is Sync or Async
    or
    Invoking remote BPEL processes( Sync / Async ) depends on our BPEL process deign
    Thanks
    -Praveen

    Within the SOA world, you have two types of processes, sync and a-sync. Calling a process is different. By a sync-call there is immediate response, while an a-sync does not have an immediate reponse.
    So it depends how you call the WS.

  • Call sync BPM from Async BPM - issue

    Hi,
    Outline: I'm trying to call a synchronous BPM from an asynchronous BPM in a PI 7.0 SP 14 system.
    When doing so i get the following error: Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed.
    Now this is an oldie when searching the forums for this error message. I do however fail to see a solution to the problem.
    Note that the following notes (referred to in similar posts)
    - 710445
    - 718734
    - 830803
    are implemented since theese refer to older versions of PI.
    My scenario is very simple at present since i've startet from scratch again after getting the error. So what i do is:
    1) send async message to async BPM
    2) async BPM receives request
    3) async bpm transform request til sync_request.
    4) async BPM calls synchronous BPM
    5) sync BPM receives request and opens a async/sync bridge
    6) sync BPM maps request to response
    7) sync BPM sends response and closes async/sync bridge
    8) async BPM reveices sync_response
    9) async BPM sends sync_response to some application
    Now step 8 i never succesfully executed. Instead the error earlier described is triggered.
    For simplicity i use 1 and only 1 message type in all message interfaces. I have mapping between my synchronous interfaces outside of BPM.
    The synchronus BPM is executed just fine. The only issue is getting the reponse back to the asynchronous BPM.
    I am familiar with the following similar posts:
    - Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed
    - Problem in posting the data in the syncronous mode
    but find them to be of no use.
    Hope someone can help.
    Best Regards,
    Daniel

  • Extending ASYNC BPEL EXECUTION TIME

    Hi,
    I have a Async BPEL process that is calling same webservice several times and each invocation to that webservice results in wait time of 45 secs. so when i invoke the webservices as a partner link from BPEL, the service works fine till first 6 invocations but in case i increase my number of invocations to more than 6, my service moves in BPEL Message Recovery.
    What changes should i make in BPEL properties in order to make my BPEL process run for more than 6 invocations. I tried to change few properties in Soa Infra>Bpel Properties>More BPEL configurations and changed below properties :
    Sync Max wait Time : initially it was 240, i changed to 500
    Also, under recovery Config but the service is still going in reovery.
    How can i make my Aync BPEL process run for more duration without entering in Recovery Mode.
    Ideally, my service executed well for time duration starting 04:06:16 and ended at 04:10:48. If i add one more execution making it wait for another 45 sec, it moves in recovery.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Can you let us know the exact version of Server with patch details?

  • Callback activity not getting invoked in Async BPEL

    Hi
    I have an Async BPEL process which uses correlations.I have a receive activity in the middle using the correlation.
    When executed the BPEL gets invoked and waits during the receive activity and proceeds further when the service is hit with the required correlated data also but the problem is the process does not get into completed state.When viewed from the BPEL console it shows all the activites upto Call back client but not the call back activity.The other activities get executed properly without any error.
    One more point i would like to mention here is another Sync BPEL is invoking this process [The Sync BPEL just invokes and proceeds further without waiting for any result from the Async process.]
    Need Urgent help on this plss.
    Vamsi

    Hi Peter,
    Thanx for your reply. Actually i tried putting Java embedding activity [with checkpoint()] before and after the call back activity. When i execute the same it comes upto the java embedding which is before the call back and just hnags there. The status of the bpel is also shown as Active.
    Any more help pls..

    Hi i have followed the following steps which is specified in this thread
    You need to follow below steps...
    add a java parameter to the OSB server. Go to domains\osb_domain\bin folder and edit the setDomainEnv file and add this line to this file. set JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Dplatform.home=%WL_HOME% -Dwls.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dweblogic.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dcom.sun.xml.namespace.QName.useCompatibleSerialVersionUID=1.0
    Step 2 is to replace the bpel jars in the bpel transport ear. Go folder osb_10.3\lib\transports and open bpel10gtransport.ear and replace the following jar files orabpel.jar, orabpel-common.jar , xmlparserv2.jar and oc4jclient.jar with the ones you can find in the soa suite 10.1.3 home.
    But still i am getting the error.
    I am using WLS (10.0).Is it compatible with bpel-10g protocol, because i have already called a sync BPEL process with http protocol and it worked?This thread talks about WLS(9.2)

  • Calling a BPEL process from java (STRUTS)

    Hi,
    I´ve a workspace where I have all the deployed bpel processes, and I´ve other workspace with a Struts project. I deployed my Struts project in the OC4J Server where the BPEL processes are deployed.
    I´m trying to initialise Locator instance in a .java file. The Locator will search the bpel processes in the default domain. I get an exception when I run the project, dont know what I´m doing wrong. (can´t copy the exception from the Embedded OC4J Server)
    THE CODE:
    static Locator locator = null;
    static String bpelDomain = "default";
    static String bpelDomainPassword = "bpel";
    static String orabpelPlatform = "oc4j_10g";
    static String javaNamingFactoryInitial = "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory";
    static String javaNamingProviderUrl = "ormi://develc15:23791/orabpel";
    static String javaNamingSecurityPrincipal = "admin";
    static String javaNamingSecurityCredentials = "welcome";
    static String dedicatedRmiContext = "true";
    public static void invokeProcess(String processName, String operationName, String sXml)
    try
    Properties props = new java.util.Properties();
    props.setProperty("orabpel.platform",orabpelPlatform);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.factory.initial",javaNamingFactoryInitial);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.provider.url",javaNamingProviderUrl);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.principal",javaNamingSecurityPrincipal);
    props.setProperty("java.naming.security.credentials",javaNamingSecurityCredentials);
    props.setProperty("dedicated.rmicontext", dedicatedRmiContext);
    locator = new Locator(bpelDomain, bpelDomainPassword,props);
    } catch (Exception r)
    r.printStackTrace();

    I tried to call an async BPEL process from simple Java client. The only difference that I see in your code and mine is, that I haven't specified the "orabpelPlatform" and "dedicatedRMIContext" properties. Also, another diferenece is the ProviderURL used. I have copied the settings as found under "samples/tutorial/102.InvokeProcess/rmi/Context.Properties".
    While setting the properties use -
    Context.INITIAL_FACTORY
    Context.PROVIDER_URL
    Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL
    Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS
    instead of specifying java.naming.xxxxxx class names.
    Please check the file to see what are the Context properties set during installation for your BPEL PM. Use the same to define Properties to be passed as parameter in the Locator constructor.

  • Sync RFC call from XI

    Hi
    I've a requirement for a XI Inbound Order that I need to check for each MATNR on the Order Line it's associated Division (SPART).  Once I know the Division I'll then split up the Order per Division.
    Can I from my BPM collect the message, call a RFC via Send Sync Step to return the Divisions and then continue with my transformation ?
    I was looking for an example of how to call an RFC from a BPM.  NOT using Sync<>Async bridge.
    Does anybody have a link to a blog etc for that.?

    Hi,
    You can either use RFC lookup in mapping or use Sync RFC call in the BPM.
    Refer the Blog RFC Scenario using BPM --Starter Kit By Arpith Seth for Sync RFC call in BPM.
    Refer this document [Mapping Lookups: Remote Function Calls API|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a03e7b02-eea4-2910-089f-8214c6d1b439] for making RFC lokup from mapping.

  • Mapping between Sync sender and Async Receiver

    Hi Experts,
    How to do mapping between Sync sender and Async Receiver?
    Flow: Sync SOAP Sender Client -> First Async webservice call -> Second Sync webservice call
    1. I have to send some input/request details to first webservice call. It will just update the database.If I do mapping with SOAP Sender client and first Async webservice.. I am getting timeout, because it expects response mapping too.
    2. Only Second webservice call return the response back to SOAP Sender client.Here mapping between SOAP Sender client and Second Sync webservice call. I don't have any problem here.
    I have to pass the same request info to both webservice calls, Please tell me how to do the async mapping in BPM?

  • Correlation initiate in invoke in the Async BPEL

    Hello, All
    I need you help. Now I have a Async BPEL. and I need to use the Correlation waiting for message at a second Receive activity. So I need initial the Correlation. But I do not initial the Correlation in the first Receive, I want to initial the Correlation in the Invoke activity before the second Receive activity. But the BPEL can not receive the message. If I do the same operation in the Sync BPEL. It is ok. so I can not initial the Correlation in the invoke activity? but how can I resolve the problem. BPEL diagramm is :
    Receive

    Invoke(set Correlation and initial the Correlation)
    |
    Receive(Set Correlation)
    |
    Invoke

  • Testcase, how to split up an xml message and call a BPEL process.

    Another question.
    Considering the following XML message.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rows>
    <row>
    <id>10</id>
    <naam>A</naam>
    </row>
    <row>
    <id>20</id>
    <naam>B</naam>
    </row>
    </rows>
    An input message can consist of 1 to about 20000 <row></row> elements. I would like to split up this message into individual <row></row> and call a BPEL process for further processing.
    I've tried to use the file adapters feature "Files contain Multiple Messages" Publish Messages in batches of.." This did not work. ( root element expected exceptions ).
    I've also tried to invoke an extra async routing service with a mapping which removes the root element. This also doesn't work as it leaves the following ( incorrect ) xml message at the end.
    <row>
    <id>10</id>
    <naam>A</naam>
    </row>
    <row>
    <id>20</id>
    <naam>B</naam>
    </row>
    Which is logical considering how an XSL transformation works.
    Is there any way to achieve this?
    Any help is appreciated!

    You shoul create a while loop, that loops through XML payload for each row. Than you can process each individual row. See also example:
