Synced my phone to my computer and lost my photos. HELP

please help! I linked my phone up to my computer because i needed to get a few photos off my phone. i clicked the option "USB only", but none of my photos showed up on my computer, so i unplugged my phone, and plugged it back in, then pressed the option "sync up to computer'... then my photos + videos started downloading onto my computer. half way through the cord was taken out by my brother, so everything stopped downloading. i was horrified because there are NO photos + videos + music on my phone. i tried to download everything again on my computer, but it only downloaded half my images on my phone. now i'm missing everything except for a few songs, photos, and videos on my computer. i thought it might be in the trash on my computer, or on my media card on my phone, but it's nowhere to be found. And ontop of all this, now when i take a photo it doesnt save into my 'camera pictures' album... i dont know where they're going?! somebody please help. i'm so useless when it comes to this stuff.

What version of the Mac OS X do you have on your computer? The version of iTunes that you can install is dependent on the operating system that you have. For example, the current version of iTunes requires OS X version 10.7.5 or later.

Wow I see from the other responses to similar questions that the phone may be jailbroken. I thought I was purchasing an unlocked phone that was legal to use with any system. What a disappointment, I will have to go back to where I purchased this phone and let them have an ear full.

If you deleted the music why are you syncing back apps from other user on your computer?
Have you tried deleting the music directly from your phone and then update over the air?

If you "had to" create a new user id, then you need to move your data so that that new user can access it.
What specifically is it that you are trying to accomplish and what specifically is happening. The more details you provide, the more likely we will be able to assist you.

You remove photos that were placed on your computer via an iTunes sync by syncing again. When you sync again, after connecting the phone to iTunes, remove the checkmark in front of "Sync Photos From" on the Photos page of iTunes if you want to remove all previously synced photos or change the selection of folders/albums to be synced if you only want to remove some. Everything should be on your computer.
You should be syncing contacts and calendars with your comptuer regularly.
You should be transferring all itunes purchases to your computer regularly.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly.
Most especially before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

Thanks for the link Eric - I guess I should have been more clear on my response. I also sync to two different computers, but for two different things - one is for photos, and the other is for everything else. I did not know, however, that you could actually sync music from two different computers....
I'm thinking that I have the Manually Manage option on so it does not automatically start syncing when I connect, but didn't know that one could drag and drop songs rather than just clicking on the Sync button when ready to sync....

If you have an iCloud backup, restore it to your phone as explained here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521. If you have a backup on your computer instead, restore it to your phone by connecting your phone to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Restore from Backup.

When you connect the iPhone to sync with the new computer, a number of things will happen. If the new computer/iTunes does not contain any music, then yes, you will receive a prompt saying this iPhone is synced to another library, and if you continue, you will lose your music. However, you risk losing a number of other things, such as apps, contacts and calendar data. When you ask about photos, any photos that you have on the iPhone that were synced from the previous computer would also be lost. You need to save the photo folder from the old laptop and transfer that to the new desktop. You also need to sync the contacts and calendar to the same supported application that you were using in the past, such as Outlook, unless you are using an outside web-based sync, such as Google. Also, when you first connect the iPhone, it will make a backup, or at least make sure that it does before you attempt to sync, or you will not have a backup of some of the other things, such as mail settings, SMS, and the contents of the Camera Roll. I would import the photos from the camera roll to the new computer before trying to do anything else in iTunes.

I enabled the backup, but when i went to use the backup, the phone recovered everything except the music.

Of course your music was lost - unless you uncheck sync music, you're syncing with another music library. You'll have to sync your phone with the other/original computer to the music back.
