Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
1. Create a Gmail Account.
2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything!

Vista + Outlook 2007 + Icloud : Lost all contacts and calendar in outlook when installing/Synchronizing iCloud. Both still available on iphone and iCloud.
How to get them back in Outlook? Understand iCloud erased them and transferred them in an other outlook account. In Outlook 2007, I can see a folder called "iCloud" but get an error message ("The set of folders cannot be opened...") when clicking on it. I suspect all is there, but no access possible. I assume some Outlook settings are uncorrect, but wonder which settings...?Well. Working just fine now, since uninstalling and re-installing icloud and syncing.

IPhone will not synch contacts and calendar with Outlook after upgrade to 4
I have been using an ACT! database on a PC for years, synching to Outlook with CompanionLink, and synching my iPhone to Outlook. After upgrading my iPhone to 4.0, I can no longer synch my contacts and calendar from Outlook. It "goes through the motions," appearing to be synching. But in the end, nothing changes. I have reloaded iTunes. The problem is between Outlook and the phone (the synch from ACT! to Outlook is fine).
I'm having the same issue. Upgraded my 3G to OS4 which wiped out my contacts from the phone. I also use CompanionLink (Express) to sync ATC with Outlook and iTunes and the phone. Have spent hours/days on the phone with second level Apple tech support to no avail. CompanionLink IS syncing with Outlook but Outlook isn't syncing with the phone. Have tried syncing to Outlook directly (without CompanionLink) but no good result. Tried syncing through MobilMe. Can sync all Outlook contacts from my computer to me.com through MobileMe but does not sync with the phone. Tech support suggested trying to sync fewer contacts at a time as their might be a problem with the contacts file. DID manage to get 4000 of my 5600 contacts back in but can't get any more in. Previously had NO problem syncin all contacts directly and through CompanionLink. VERY frustrating.
Also, I use Outlook Express for email. Since installing MobileMe I get an error message saying that Outlook isn't my default mail handler and I need to change the settings to make it the default mail handler. I DO NOT have "sync mail" checked as I'm not trying to sync my email accounts...only contacts and calendars. Made Outlook the default mail handler which stops the error message but still can't sync the contacts and I want to keep Outlook Express for email. -

Hello. I am having difficulties syncing my iPhone 4S Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 2007. It used to work perfectly with my iPhone 4, but now I am having difficulties both ways. That is, I add something to my Outlook 2007 Calendar, sync in iTunes, but it doesn't appear in my iPhone. Or, I add a Contact to my iPhone, sync in iTunes, but it doesn't appear in Outlook 2007. I believe I have the iTunes settings correct.
Me too. Think it is since 6.1.3.
Interesting other quirk is that as well as NOT syncing my calendar, it also unticks my calendar from pc on the iphone.
When ii retick it, i get the calendar back, but as it was before the sync, ie, it does not have the bnew events from my pc in it.
This is a 2 way problem.
New events on my iphone wont sync to my pc, and new events on my pc wont sync to my iphone. -

I work in IT and several of our clients are have trouble syncing contacts and calendar to outlook 2010 or iphones.
I have uninstall itunes completely from the computer, deleted the backup and clear the sync history nothing seems to be working.
Is there are problem with the latest itunes and if so when will the fix be release???This is exactly what I am dealing with. Blackberry Link will work great for awhile and then something happens and I can not sync my contacts. I have spent many hours and days trying to fix this to no avail. BB support has been great but I still go through a long process each time. This week I finally gave up and started using the Microsoft Hotmail Outlook Connector since my company does not offer Active Sync or Exchange. It works flawlessly. I would dedfinitely check it out. If you swith to a Widows Phone or Android this is one of the options they recommend you use.
In a nutshell Link is awful and BB should be ashamed of the product they put on the market. I will only use it for syncing pictures and documents. Good luck! -
I was trying to get my personal computer contacts and calendar in outlook on my iphone and ipad. I was told to use icloud. I went to control panel and then icloud and selected my contacts and calendar. Now ALL MY DATA IS DELETED FROM OUTLOOK. Help!!
I was just on the line with Apple Tech support. First of all, I learned that when you link contacts to iCloud, it moves all your contacts to another/new address book...look for aother address books and you will see it. But I found the new address book dies weird things and changes the "Display Names" format. Evidently (per Apple support tech) there is no way to avoid this problem...so I just delinked the iCloud from my contacts. The contacts stayed in the iCloud address book...so I exported them to a CSV (comma separated value) file and saved it on my desktop and then imported that list into my original contacts folder. Now everything is back the way it was...being able to use my contact address book the way I did before. I was surprised that they never considered or realized this problem...but then the tech guy admitted that they really don't have A LOT of experience using Windows PC's.

1 Connect your phone to your PC, open iTunes and sync the contacts from there.
2 Open an iCloud account, connect your PC and your phone to it, select contacts (and any other services you want) -

I have just acquired an iphone 4s. When I try to sync contacts and calendar with my PC Outlook contents, itunes does NOT offer Outlook as an option. Yet when this phone is connected to vodaphone's computer at one of its retail outlets, outlook is pffered.
As suggested by others, I reloaded my copy of MS Outlook. Itunes now offers Outlook as a sync option, and has done the job!

My hard drive crashed. I have all my contacts and calendar in my IPhone. I now have a new hard drive and am trying to get my contacts and calendar into the reinstalled outlook on my desktop but can't sync. Suggestions? Thanks
Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty. -
Transfer iphone contacts and calendar from pc to to new macbook pro
I have my iphone synced to a pc. Just bought a macbook pro and want to transfer my contacts and calendar to macbook. Will now exclusively use Macbook. I know from past experience that you cant sync iphone to 2 computers so what is the best way to transfer my contacts and calendar plus anything else that can be transferred over to my new macbook? I have already burned a DVD with all my purchases so I guess I can import all the apps from this backup.
Did you get a subscription to MobileMe?
If so, Sync your iPhone contacts & Calendar to MobileMe then Sync MobileMe to your new MBP.
If not, I don't know if Apple has an easy way to send your Pc stuff to your new MBP but I think that you can sync your PC contacts and calendar to a Google account then sync google to your new MBP.
There might be an easier way to do this.

How can I sync my contacts and calendars from my iPhone?
I know it seems like it should be a simple thing to do but I just got my iPad today and was trying to get my contacts and calendar that I have on my iPhone over to the iPad. I then realized that none of my contacts and calendars that I have created on my phone are on my computer... So I went to iTunes>Devices>Info and checked to sync my calendars and contacts and also made sure the replaceinfo my my iphone with content on this computer was UNchecked... but nothing has shown up in my iCal or Contacts on the computer... I am unsure of what to do!
I don't mean to sound silly, but after you checked to sync the info, did you do a sync?
you do have the option to sync between devices via iCloud. however you may wish to back up the info if you can because iCloud ate all my contacts.
Another more tedious way is to e-mail your contacts, one at a time, and open the e-mail on your iPad and computer and save it.
