Synchronous RFC-XI-Web Service with no request method

Hello guys,
I'm trying to set up an RFC-XI-Web Service scneario. But with the particularitity that the WSDL does not have a request method. It only has a very simple response method.
How can I make this? How can XI call the Web Service, if I dont have any request method?

Matias, after some test I think that VJ is correct.
It is failing at the moment of delivering the message to the WS, I'm getting the followin error messages:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 302 Moved Temporarily
I tested the WS with XMLspy and works correctly.
I'm starting to believe that the best solution is to simply create a dummy request in the WS.
It would be great if someone else test in their own and see if we get the same result. Thanks,

I am able to consume a Domino R7 (Axis) web service with JAX-WS using Dispatch<SOAPMessage>. When I try using Dispatch<Object> however, JAXB throws an exception because it encounters an unexpected tag.
The XML from the web service looks like this:

I don't see this happening in other people's examples. Has the Return-element-within-Response-element design been eliminated in pure JAX-WS web services, or is this something that only IBM does?

Need JDeveloper Web Service with HTTP POST method

Hello all,
I am creating a Web Service from a java class using JDeveloper. The wsdl created uses a SOAP binding. When I test the web service, either through JDeveloper or by deploying to OAS, the HTTP request created uses the HTTP GET protocol. I am assuming that this would be the same for anybody doing this.
I need to know how to change it to be an HTTP POST protocol instead.
The reason that I need to try and use the POST method is that the xml needed by the service holds a lot of data and the http server is giving me a "URI too long" error. I have read and been told that using POST instead of GET would help this, but I can't figure out what to change to make this happen. I am not sure if I have to make a change in the generated wsdl or somewhere else. Or if it just won't work that way.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Call ABAP Web Service with Java code only

Hi all,
First of all, I am writing script in Adobe form but am not using the one in SAP.
I am trying to call the web service and process the result with script open (i.e. no dataconnection created), because I am trying to do that in a dialog.
I can call a non-SAP web service without problem, but I am not able to call a simple web service with only a single string input, anyone have any example?

in the second option, if I make the field ILifnr optional the call is succesfully performed but the parameter is not passed to the WS. So the call is working.

Calling Web Service with SOAP header from BPEL

Hi,
I am calling a web service (with header information) from BPEL. In the Invoke activity, i created a header variable to pass the header information.
But, when i test the BPEL service, invoke activity fails because the header information is not being passed.
Below is the error message (copied from clipboard).

     I am facing a deployment issue with Oracle ESB. I am trying to call an external Web Service with authentication from ESB SOAP Service. Gettinfg error in RFC to Web Service scenario

I am getting the following error while configuring RFC to Web Service scenario.
I have used the ws :http://webservices.imacination.com/distance/Distance.jwsPlease help me out.

Calling web service with basic authentication from EP "unauthorized"

Hello,
I need to call a .NET web service with basic authentication on the IIS from my portal application (no http proxy between portal and IIS). But always I get the following exception:
com.sap.engine. services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor. NestedSOAPException:
Problem in server response: [Unauthorized].
I'm using the following code for calling the .NET web service:

Authentication Method : Basic Authentication

User Mapping Type : admin,user
The user mapping is also personalized for this system!
What's wrong? Please help! This is really urgent!

RFC- XI- Web services

Hi All,
We are configuring RFC->XI->Web Services scenario.
We are using SOAP adapter in the receiver side. We are getting the following error message.
soap fault: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: ConversionRate. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.Soap11ServerProtocolHelper.RouteRequest() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapServerProtocol.Initialize() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.ServerProtocolFactory.Create(Type type, HttpContext context, HttpRequest request, HttpResponse response, Boolean& abortProcessing).
Kindly help.

1) Reciever SOAP Adapter configuration
2) Check the Target URL - it should be wsdl URL
3) Transport protocol used (HTTP)

Connect to Secure web service with certificate from SAP EP

Here is the current situation:
1. Our business requirement is to connect 3rd party RESTful web service which requires secure connection with private client certificate attached
2. I've tested in my Java test application and successfully attached private certificate to HttpsURLConection request to the web service and made a connection. No problem at all.

Could you please help me what this error message means?
Do you think do I need to to do some other configuration to make connection to web service with client certificate?
This is our first approach. Please help...

SunJSSE implement SSL server CertificateRequest in a strict mode, if client failed to find a proper certificate corresponding the server request, it does not guess what's the proper certificate and send to the server. In your case, because there is no intermediate certificate in the client context, so there is no way to make the decision which certificate would be acceptable by server, so client does not send any cert to server. That's why you got a handshaking error.
I guess your client key store does not contains a full certificate path from the client end-entity certificate to the root CA. Please import the full certificate path into the key store.
BTW, these approaches should work, but I found no reason why one does not adopt #1:
1. import the full certification path of client certificate into client key store.
2. as a workaround, configure the server to send a list including the intermediate certificates;
3. as a workaround, you will have to customize the client KeyManager if you don't want to or are not able to configure the server to send a list including the intermediate certificates.

ABAP Web Service with tables

We need to build a web service with a predefined message in our ERP (ABAP), without PI or WebAS JAVA.
 
 
We thought it should be a simple task, because we had no problem with many other applications and systems when building the same service, but were not able to build it with SAP ABAP, probably as a consequence of our lack of knowledge on ABAP SOAP runtime.
 
 
We have an external asynchronous process that delivers information to many other systems using web services (information diffusion). Concecuently, the web service call's structure is determined by the caller, so we have to fulfill this structure if we want to receive the info.
 
 
The owner of the process defined a very simple service call, in which one kind of "record" can be repeated 1 to n times:

We tried to build a RFC function call and create a web service with the wizard and it resulted in a web service with the following WSDL:

We found two main problems:
 
 
1.- When "wrapping" the RFC as a WS with the wizard, for a table datatype it automatically includes the <item></item> tag, so we break the predefined calling rules.
 
 
2.- The namespace is fixed by the wizard, and we would like to use a common namespace for all the "susbscribers", logically, the namespace fixed by the information diffusion service.
 
 
We also tried to find info on the outside-in approach for building a web service from the WSDL, but all the info we found required the ESR and we have no PI, just the ERP.
 
 
Any ideas on how to proceed?

I've recently had to "zap" some namespaces in an ECC5 system because the calling (TIBCO) system didn't appreciate the default SAP "urn" default - something to do with multiple colons in the address. There were, I think, just three table this affected, all VEP* ones. I think I should have been able to change these via the virtual interface in SE80 except that the ECC5 code was a bit "light" in this respect, so you may be able to do this now in SOAMANAGER in ECC6 (btw, I also had to re-save the WS definition within WSCONFIG and re-activate the virtual interfaces after this "zap" to generated the associated handler class again).
#1. Given your "name / value" pairs represent a complex type, then it might be better practice to have them as "item" which is probably why SAP proposes it this way... what does your custom function module parameter list look like?

Exporting to Microsoft Excel from a DataView Web Part consuming a Web Service with Parameters

In Sharepoint Designer, I've developed a page displaying a DataView Web Part which consumes an XML Web Service with three parameters. These parameters are passed in from a simple Form Web Part containing three input fields. I am able to provide default values for the web service so the dataview is initially populated, and when I enter in new parameters, the web service goes back, grabs the requested data and displays in the dataview nice and slick.
The problem I'm having is this: In Internet Explorer 7, when I right-click on the DataView Web Part and select Export to Microsoft Excel, Excel opens up, says "ExternalData_1: Getting Data..." and returns the data from the web service which applies to the default parameter values each and every time, regardless of whether I have changed the parameters on the web page, and contrary to what the DataView Web Part displays on the screen.
Has anyone else run into this, and is there a solution to the problem?

RFC - XI - Web service

I have a RFC -> XI -> Web service synchronous scenario.
After setting up scenario in XI, I execute RFC. When I check sxmb_moni, it shows me error.

How are you doing the communication from FRC ==> XI ??
1. Are you using Outbound(sender)RFC Adapter, if so did you create a registered program for communication from r3 to XI (rfc destination
sm59->tcpip)
2. Are you using an outbound(Sender) Client abap proxy??
3. Are you calling an external webservice(not in XI)if
so make sure the soap action is correct

Web Services with REST, SOAP and JAX-RPC

Can somebody who has developed web services extensively comment/suggest a java development environment that works best for developing web services mainly with REST. I've found that Eclipse with Axis2 and Tomcat works well. But I would like to get your opinion on it and some other alternatives.

Thanks in advance.You can do this in many ways. It depends on how heavy your service is. You can write a simple servlet that will take a REST (I'm assuming you know what REST is) request and parses it out, calls a server-side method and generates a REST response.
Another way is to use a web-service container such as AXIS. You can read some examples and documentation on their website. AXIS2 has REST support as well.
