Syncing iCal from two locations

Question

I have a mac at home and as a family we use iCal. I also use iCal at work and would like to be able to have both calendars synced to my IPad. Any idea how best to achieve this? Thank you wise forum people.

I use Gmail for syncing the Calender;
Google and Apple both offer popular calendar services, GMail Calendars and iCal. You can create entries in either program and then sync your dates. When you make changes to a calendar entry in one program, the changes will be "pushed" to the other so that both are always up to date. The program information will be refreshed every five minutes unless you change the interval in your iCal preferences.

Open the iCal "Preferences." With iCal open, click the iCal menu and select "Preferences." Click "Accounts."

Add an account. Click the "+" sign to add a new calendar account. Type a name for your calendar and then enter your GMail username and password in the appropriate boxes.

Enter the Server Options. Add the following URL: https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user, replacing "[email protected]" with the email address that you use to log in to GMail Calendar. As a GMail user, you would enter [email protected] Uncheck the "Use Kerberos v5 for Authentication" option if it is checked.

Add a new account. Click "Add." Select the calendars that you want to add to iCal under the "Delegation" tab by checking the appropriate boxes.

Add your email address to your address book by selecting "Add Email." If your email address is not in your address book, you will not be able to invite or email guests to GMail calendar events within iCal.
