Syncing music error/warning

I have an iPod and iPhone - I have so far kept my music on my very ancient iPod and not on my iPhone. I would now like to sync my music to my iPhone (as well if possible) but when I connect my iPhone to iTunes on my iMac and try to tick the Sync Music box I get the following warning:-
Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing content on the iPhone “Pat Schafer’s iPhone” will be removed and replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library.
To me this means that it will sync my music but all my apps will be removed.  Can anyone help explain this to me.

Whenever you sync with an iTunes library for the first time it will remove any iTunes media from the phone and replace it with the media in the iTunes library you are syncing with.  You can, however, take steps to transfer purchased content such as music purchased from the iTunes store and apps purchased from the app store to your iTunes library prior to this so it is simply synced back to your phone.  This article will explain the steps you can take to minimize or avoid data loss:  https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

  • Sync music error msg/ new iPhone

just got a new iPhone 4; trying to sync music from iTunes and receive message that it is already synced with another library; how can it be synced with any other library when it is new
note: bought first one and had a problem, had to return; this is the replacement; had no trouble syncing apps and music to the first one.  what am I doing wrong?  something to do with the sync to first phone?

i read lots of suggestions and tried a few things but what seemed to work for me was clicking on Autofill on the iTunes [this iPhone] sync page.

  • 1.Can't sync music error. 2. When trying to update: 1403 corrupted error?

For some reason, my iPhone was "freaking out" when I was trying to access its music library earlier today (constant flickering back forth between different songs by a single artist). In the end, all the music from my phone was deleted . Then when I was trying to transfer music, I got an error from iTunes when I try manually "drag n drop" to sync new music: "the iphone cannot be synced. an internal device error occurred". Any advice? I'm running iOS 6.1.3, when I try to restore, I got error: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (-1)".

I recently updated to 4.2.1 on my iphone4. I tried to add a new album which caused me to delete all of my music on my iphone 4. Now everytime I try synching my music back to my phone itunes stops working. Please help!

If it is still not working after the reset you will need to backup & restore the device within iTunes to try again.

i am unable to sync music from my computer to my iphone 4S i receive an error message stating that it requires 11.1 or later and that i need to go to the itunes website to download that, ive done that and still am unable to proceed.

Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.

  • ITunes (unknown error -54) when syncing music to iPhone 4s. Help!

I just got a 64 GB iPhone 4s and I'm having trouble syncing my music library. A few artist into syncing and get an error message saying a certain song could not sync (unknown error -54). Then the rest of my library does not sync to my iPhone. I deleted all the songs that made it into my iPhone and I tried syncing my library again. I got the same unknown error -54 message again but it's another song that won't sync. The funny thing is that the previous song that wouldn't sync made it into my iPhone. Because of that I think it's an iTunes problem and not the file. Please help! Very frustrating!

I stopped using iCloud and started to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. I had also done a restore just to make sure it was being ungunked. Everything works perfectly now. I'm back to using my laptop iTunes for backing up my iPhone 4S

  • Error 13019 w/o synced music/v-notes/etc

I am getting the 13019 error when I connect my iPod to my computer. Here is the issue, I have tried the steps on the support page (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2830) but I don't actually have any synced content. I manually move everything over (no synced music, pictures, videos, apps, voice notes, podcasts, tv shows, etc). I am at a loss for what to do at this point. I can't drag music to it because it just shoots back the 13019 error.
    Any ideas?

Thank you! IATechGuy's post worked. I was digging through that thread for a while before posting here and gave up too soon I guess.

    What computer operating system?
And, where is the music coming from, iTunes? If so, that is a known problem with Premiere Elements (just about any version).
The answer has been to convert the iTunes music to the wav version in iTunes.

  • Error 13019 when trying to sync music on iPod nano

I've had my iPod nano for over a year, and just a few days ago, it has started to show me this error message
whenever I try to add or remove music from my iPod.. Althought I've looked and it seems to be a somewhat common problem among Apple users, the instructions many have posted and the instructions in the Apple support section are not help to me. According to Apple support, to fix this problem you must:
Select the device name  in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Music tab and under the Sync music option, choose Selected playlists.
    Deselect the Voice Memos playlist.
Click Apply and then click Sync.
However, I do not have the "sync music" option checked,
and I control my music manually. By checking this box and re-syncing my iPod, I would lose a lot of  the music on my iPod already. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section?
Does any one have another option or any ideas?

Some have been able to resolve it by removing podcasts and/or rebuilding their iTunes library.

  • TS4062 How do I get music on iPhone w/out downloading from Cloud? Error "sync will resume when "computer" is available." Tried syncing music w/ cord, w/out cord; only purchased music, only a few songs. Restarted devices & both are updated w/ latest softwa

How do I get music onto my iPhone without having to download it from the Cloud? My iPhone gives the error "sync will resume when "computer" is available" on the final step of synching. The computer says "waiting for changes to be applied" but the phone doesn't have the two little sync arrows anymore. Seems it will stay like that for hours if I don't cancel it. I've tried syncing the songs with the cord & without the cord; using only purchased music or only a few songs. I've restarted both devices & both are updated with the latest software. My phone says it hasn't synced in 5 months, even though I've tried. WiFi is working. I've tried checking and unchecking the box in iTunes. I've turned Windows Firewall on/off. Ran the diagnostics in iTunes. Nothing seems to work. Help!

    Hello Megurine Lockhart,
I would recommend re syncing the music to the phone from iTunes by unchecking the sync music checkbox in iTunes, sync, then re check it and sync again.
For reference this is what I mean:
    Syncing music
Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
Select your your iPod in the Devices section on the left side of the iTunes window.
In the main iTunes browser window, select Music.
Select the option to Sync Music. You may also select "Include Music videos" if you would like to sync Music videos to a device.
From: iTunes: Syncing media content to iPod
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1351
The article references an iPod but its the same for an iPhone.
    All the best,
    Sterling
