Syncing pc to ipad 2
I have purchased an Ipad 2 and want to copy my itunes from pc to ipad. I have looked on internet and it suggests syncing but dont know how to do this
You've got iTunes installed on your computer ? If not then you can download it from here. If you have then connect your iPad to your computer and selected the iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes - you should then be able to use the tabs on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select which of your iTunes content to sync to the iPad i.e. music, films, tv shows etc. Your slected music should then sync to the Music app on the iPad, and films and tv shows to the Videos app.

If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, you need to use these instructions and/or iTunes Match to put content on the iPad.

I downloaded the entire Beatles collection from iTunes in 2011. Some songs skip and won't play. Some albums won't sync to the phone but they sync to my iPad. I've deleted the entire music library from my iPhone, shut the phone down, turned the phone on and synced again to add the music but now 2 albums won't even sync (Rubber Soul and Revolver). I've tried dragging the songs to the iPhone, no luck. Any thoughts?
Sounds like you may need to re-download the entire albums from iTunes. See this KB article for how to download past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
I'd suggest doing it one album at a time. Delete one, download it from your purchase histor, then the next, etc. -
Syncing iPhone and iPad with iTunes
I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 which I sync to the same iTunes on my home PC. Every time I connect my iPhone to my iTunes, it invariably gets synced with whatever apps, music, movies and books which I synced to my iPad 2. How do I configure my iTunes in such a way that I sync different sets of apps, movies, music, etc. to both my iPhone and iPad? Thank you.

I have purchased many songs on Itunes and then I sync to my Ipad. Then it tells me so many songs cannot be synced. Why? I also attach my connection and it is now saying this iphone is not connected when it is an Ipad connected to my MacBook Air. I also think that when you have an account with Apple they should honour your email to all your music and not just your laptop as I now have to use my old laptop which is about to die so what happens then.
What is the exact wording of the error message?
Were all songs purchased by the same iTunes account?
What did iTunes say when you contacted them?

how do i find which Apple ID is associated with music in my iTunes? When I sync with my iPad and iPhone it tells me I have music, apps etc from more than five IDs. I am asked for PW for a number of now extinct accounts.
Go to Settings/icloud. The Apple ID at the top of the screen is the only one you need to be concerned about. That one MUST be a working ID, and you must know the password for it, or you will be unable to use the phone if it ever crashes, you want to update it, or you want to sell it.

Simply select only the apps that you want to sync to your iPad and then sync. You can control what syncs to the iPad. You may be best served by turning off auto sync.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says - Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. Click OK.
Connect your iPad to the computer.
Launch iTunes
Click on the iPad name on the left side under the Devices heading.
Click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right.
Click on only the apps that you want to sync in the list of apps under the Sync Apps heading.
Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked.
Click on Apply in the lower corner of iTunes. -

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

I am working in a school. Last year we had one ipad cart which holds 30 ipads and one macbook for syncing. This year we bought another cart of 30 ipads, but not an extra macbook. Can I sync all 60 ipads to the one macbook computer?
In theory everything that you are saying sounds right to me.
I am not sure at all what the limitations are when using the iPad in education as far as how many iPads can sync to one iTunes account. I am going to take a stab in the dark here and guess that you can sync up to 49 iPads with one Mac and one iTunes account since the device that I found has 49 ports. How's that for an obvious guess?
But seriously, I don't how Apple treats volume licensing with a single iTunes account in education. You were using 30 iPads this past school year so we know that's not a problem. The device that I found has 49 ports so we assume that 49 iPads are OK as well. You would have to check with Apple as to what the limitations/rules arefor using a single iTunes account.
There has to be a way to sync as many iPads as you have students in those classes or the iPad in education would not be a viable option. What I don't know about is how you go about paying for that volume license or how it is implemented.
For personal use, you can use up to 10 devices with a single Apple ID/iTunes account. No more than 5 of those devices can be computers. -
How do I sync both an iPad and iPhone 4 to the same iMac?
I am combining the functions of a PC desktop and PC Laptop onto a new iMac. I do have VMware's Fusion to run Windows 7 Home Premium, but I'd really like to sync both my iPad (first generation) and iPhone 4 to the Mac and move away from the Windows platform. I used to sync each device to a separate PC. How can I sync both devices to the iMac? In addition, with iCloud, can I determine which apps are synced to each device since some apps are designed for the iPhone and don't have corresponding iPad versions (with full screen size). There are apps for the iPad only that shouldn't be synced to the iPhone. I'd appreciate any advice from folks who sync two portable devices to one Mac system.
Just plug the two devices into the Mac, as if the other one didn't exist. iTunes will keep them separate and allow you control sync of apps and media content as you wish.
As to iCloud, for the iTunes in the Cloud feature, if you use the same iTunes Store account on both the iPad and the iPhone, you'll want to turn off the automatic download option in the Settings -> Store preference pane on your devices. Then you can sync, download and update as you wish on each device.

Right click on your iPad's name in the iTunes app on your computer and choose to transfer purchases. That should transfer anything that you have bought with the App Store app on the iPad to the iTunes app on your computer.

If you synced it many times, you have to have a backup. It's just a question of how old that backup is now. When did you last sync?
First of all launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. Do you see any backups for you iPad in that window? If so, how new is the newest backup? That will be the backup that you will want to use. But remember that if you use that backup and it is one month old, you can only restore from that date back in time. Anything that you did on the iPad in the past month will not be in that backup.
Turn on the new iPad Minin and start activating OTA via WiFi. You will get to a certain point in the process where you will be given the choice to Set up as new, Restore from iCloud - or Restore from iTunes. You will want to select Restore from iTunes.
That is the short and sweet version. There are step by step instructions in this article. This applies to the mini as well as the iPad 4 or the iPad 3 for that matter.

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -
My whole family shares the same MacBook and itunes library.
For awhile my ipad has been syncing other peoples music to my ipad, and when I check on itunes these albums aren't even selected.
Someone please help me!!!! How do I stop the unselected music from being synced to my ipad? (and for specific music, my ipad won't let me delete some music right from my music app)My wife, daughter and I all shared one iTunes library on one Mac and synced 6 different devices and never had problems selecting exactly what we want to sync to each device.
Even though you do not have these particular songs or bums selected to sync, do you have "Sync only checked songs and Videos" in the Summary Tab of iTune? If you don't have that option selected, makes sure that you so check it before you sync again.
You should be able to swipe across songs in the songs tab of the music app - Swiping from Right to Left - and that will bring up the Red Delete Button. You cannot delete entire albums but holding down on the icon to bring up the X on the album icon. That doesn't work in iOS. 7.
If you are seeing songs in the Music app with the cloud icon on the right hand side, those songs are not on your iPad but are in iCloud and can be downloaded if you want to do so. If you do not want to see those songs, go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Show All>Music>Off. -

Do this for each device. You can do this with all iTunes content as well. Apps, music, photos, books, movies - everything. You can have unique content on all of your devices.
You may also want to turn off auto sync so that you do not have to wait for the iPad to sync and then go back and make these changes.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices - check the box at the bottom.... Prevent iPods, iPhones ....
Then set up your sync preferences like this using Apps as the example.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on all of the apps that you want to sync to that iPad
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
You may want to uncheck Automatically Sync New Apps under the Sync Apps list
