System Configuration - SAP Web AS Connection - connection tests error

hi
I have a SAP ECC 6.04 and sap portal 7.01
When I entered in option System Administration / System Configuration / System Landscape / Portal Content Tree / Systems / SAP_ECC (System created by me)
I founded the following error (in  SAP Web AS Connection / Tests the connection to an SAP Web Application Server  )
SAP Web AS Connection
  Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
6. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
7. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
  Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. The system was retrieved.
3. The system object represents an SAP system
4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (htc-svr-erp.humantech.es:4200)
5. The host name htc-svr-erp.humantech.es was resolved successfully.
6. The Web AS ping service http://htc-svr-erp.humantech.es:4200/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the Web AS, you can try to call the ping service manually.
7. An HTTP/S connection to http://htc-svr-erp.humantech.es:4200 was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.

I have other system (old system). It dont have the last error, I show the properties of  the "old system"(without error) and the "new system" (with error)  for your analisys
In "old sap system",  stack java + abap

In "new sap system", stack java separated abap

In "old system", I created "SAP_HCM" System
In "new system", I created "SAP_ECC" System

My question of this view is: Is correct the Server port "4200" in New System? or Is correct the Server port "80+instance" in Old System?
I run tcode RZ10 in backend after "Extended Maintenance"
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8711/oldsysrz10.jpg (Old System)  (Here do not exist parameter icm/server_port_1 )
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/9268/newsysrz10.jpg (New System)  (Here do not exist parameter icm/HTTP/j2ee_0 ,  is it correct?)
<i>Which of these two syntax is correct? 80 + instance or 4200 (any number of port)</i>
also in SAP Systems, I run tcode SICF and enter in "Port Information"

  • SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 - Error on installation (JC00 startup)

    Hi,
I am trying to install SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 on a Solaris 5.8 64 Bits machine.
I got the necessary packages from SWDC (see topic Web AS SR1 required software from SWDC) and started the process. Everything went fine until I got the penultimate step, when SAPInst tries to restart the Java Engine and synchronize something... After 20 minutes waiting, I am finally getting an error like this (sapinst_dev.log):

    Hi Fernando,
to track the problem, you can have a look at the traces in the dev_jcontrol and dev_jcmon trace files located under the /usr/sap/GBS/JC00/work directory of your installation. If the dev_jcontrol file indicates an error in any of the bootstrap processes (bootstrap_<someID>), you can then further track the issue by having a look at the corresponding dev_boostrap_<ID> file in the same directory.
It is likely that the server does not start due to memory problems. If this is the case, have a look at this thread dealing with such a problem: jcontrol.exe J2EE Server stopped
    Hope that helps!

  • SAP Web Application Server 6.40 Error

Hi. I am trying to install the SAP Web Application Server 6.40 but have encountered this error when extracting this file SCS.SAR with the SAPCAR.exe
    Error Message:
SAPCAR: could not open for writing SAPCAR.exe <error 28>. The process cannot access the file because it is used by another proccess.
I have checked this proccess is not running at all. Or is it used by some other programs. Please advise.
Edited by: pong pong on Jul 30, 2008 3:58 AM

    Hi,
If you are trying to uncar the SAR file try to do it with -R option
with target directory to extract files.
    sapcar -xvf <SAR File> -R <drive>:\<DIR>\<DIR> .
I hope sapcar is trying to open a new sapcar file to throw the above error.
    Hope it helps you out.

  • SAP Web Dispatcher does not start as windows service

    Hi,
I have successfully installed and configured SAP Web Dispatcher. When I start the web dispatcher from command prompt, it works fine. I created a windows service for web dispatcher using the command
    ntscmgr install sapwebdisp -b "c:\program files\sap\sapwebdisp\sapwebdisp.exe"
    -p "service pf=sapwebdisp.pfl -cleanup -auto_restart"
The command successfully created sapwebdisp service. The service also starts fine, but web dispatcher does not get started.
    Any ideas experts?

    Hi,
    Ok. Few suggestions.
    1. Can you review the SAP note:
552286  Troubleshooting for the SAP Web Dispatcher
    2. When you said: "web dispatcher does not get started ", what error you got ? Can you be more details here ?
    3. Please check the trace file dev_webdisp" that generated in the work directory. If the log entries is not abvious, increase the trace level to 2 or 3, and reproduce and re-check the trace file.
    4. What is the output of the command "sapwebdisp -v"
    5. How about sapwebdisp.pfl ? Are those settings correct ?
    Hope this helps.

    Vincent

  • Doubt  regarding SAP WebAs

    hi frds,
          1) what is the use of WebAs?
          2) All SAP Components can run in SAP WebAs?
          3) SAP System means SAP WebAS ?
          4) XI Components like IR,IDand SLD..etc reside on SAP WebAS...like this     other SAP Netweaver Components like EP Components also reside in 2 stacks of SAP WebAS?
5)How the XI Message flows from sender  Business system to Receiver Business system via WebAS ? plz give example?
          6) What is Difference between SAP System and SAP WebAS and 3rd Party Systems?

    hi Murali
<b>1)  WAS</b> : SAP Web Application Server is a scalable and reliable component platform. It supports the development and operation of J2EE-based and ABAP-based Web applications and Web services. SAP Web Application Server embraces native Web technologies while providing all the benefits of what has previously been referred to as SAP Basis – including the benefits of the proven and scalable data, system, and software lifecycle management capabilities that SAP is known for.
    2) The new release of SAP Web Application Server offers full compliance with J2EE 1.3 standard. A completely revamped load-balancing technique highly improves the scalability of the server. Internal persistent information that the system needs to access is now stored in a conventional relational database increasing the robustness and the reliability of the server.
    3) SAP System not means SAP WebAS but other parts are also involved
    4) yes XI Components like IR,IDand SLD..etc reside on SAP WebAS
5)To know about flow  you go through a scenario from TBIT
    TBIT40:
    https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~form/ehandler?_APP=00200682500000001337&_EVENT=DISPLAY&COURSE=TBIT40
    6) What is Difference between SAP System and SAP WebAS and 3rd Party Systems?
SAP Web Application Server adds business value because it
    &#9679;     Allows customers
&#9679;     to run any 3rd party J2EE 1.3 compliant application
&#9679;     to develop and run their own J2EE 1.3 compliant applications
&#9679;     to easily extend SAP solutions on the basis of ABAP and J2EE technology
&#9679;     Offers an highly improved load-balancing which results in much better performance and, even more important provides much better scalability
so third party business system is party's own system which is being integrated by SAP XI

  • Error in SAP Web AS Connection Test

Connection Test for Connectors is successful
    But
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
    2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
    3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
    5. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
    6. Pings the server to see if it is alive.
    7. Pings the WAS ping service; works only if the service is activated on the ABAP WAS.
    8. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. The system was retrieved.
    3. The system object represents an SAP system
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (semdev.suzlon.com:8000)
    5. The host name semdev.suzlon.com was resolved successfully.
    6. <b>The server semdev.suzlon.com could not be pinged successfully.</b>
What culd be the pblm ?

    Hi PK,
in R/3 go to SE37 and check the FM RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET it will show the details for WAS, I believe the details you gave for WAS are fine.
Now for the issue go to T.Code SICF navigate to the webas path and activate the ping service. This will resolve the issue.
    Hope This helps.

  • How to connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?

    Hello to all,
sorry, can someone help me? How can I connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
In previous link contain this info
This describes how to connect an SAP R/3 system to SAP NetWeaver Portal using an iView
    1)      Go to System Administration
    2)      Go to System Configuration
    3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.
    4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".
    5)      That will display a new view on right side, now select "SAP system using dedicated application server" from
the existing templates. (Other templates are possible - for example, load balanced or through a SAProuter connection string).
For this exercise, we'll use the simplest type.
    6)      Choose next
    7)      Give the System Name and System Id (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes
about the system then give them in the "Description" field.
    8)      Open the Newly Created System.
    9)      Now when you want to create a New System, you have to fill four Properties they are:
"Connector" - contains basic connectivty details
"Internet transaction Server (ITS) - if you wish to use SAPGUI for HTML and/or IACs",
"Web Application Server" - if you wish to access BSPs and/or Web Dynpro for ABAP and
    "User Management".
You also need at least one "System Alias" has to be defined from the Display drop down menu.
Make sure you have set end user access in the Permissions drop down menu to all users who need to access the system
    10)  Select "Connector" property, now fill the required fields such as:
    a)      Application Host (should be fully qualified hostname) - Give the R/3 "Application Name",
which can be obtained from the SAP Logon Pad (check what R/3 system you are using, right click on it , go to the properties,
it will open a window which has the Application Server Name.
    b)      Logical System Name - Give the logical name as defined in the backend system
    c)      SAP Client - Check the Client in the backend system and give the appropriate number (3 digits)
    d)      SAP System ID(SID)* - Check the R/3 properties and give the check for System ID
    e)      System Type* - Since we are connecting to R/3, select SAP_R3 system.
    f)       System Number - This is a two digit number that you can find in the SAP Logon Pad
    11)  Select "Internet transaction Server (ITS)" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      ITS Description à Give some Description
    b)      ITS Host Name - Same as "Application Host" of R/3 (when integrated ITS) and should be attached with the
port number of ITS Server (to get port number detailed description is given below). ex: hostname : port number
    c)      ITS Path - To get the path along with the port number you have to Log on to R/3 system. Use the
Transaction Code "SICF", it opens a new window go to:
          default_host -> sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui -> SAP GUI for HTML -> right click on
that and click "Test Service'. This will open a new window, on the address bar you will find the "port number", and
the path something like (/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui). Use the path after the port number.
    d)      ITS Protocol - There are two protocols "http" & "https", select the appropriate protocol which is
visible when you opened "Test Service" window.
    12)  Select "Web Application Server" property , now fill the required fields like
    a)      Web AS Description -> Give some Description
    b)      Web AS Host Name - same as ITS Host Name
    c)      Web AS Path - usually /sap/bc/bsp/sapd)*
Web AS Protocol - should be same as the ITS Protocol.
    13)   Select "User Management" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      Authentication Ticket Type - Since we are not using SSO leave the field
empty i.e. put in select mode. (Please note that longer term you will probably want to use SSO)
    b)      Logon Method - Select UIDPW.
    c)      User Mapping Type - In case you have administration rights then you choose "admin" or in case you
just have user rights then choose "user", better go for "admin/user".
    14)   Since all the required fields are filled appropriately now create a System Alias name, this can be done by following steps:
    a) go to Display -> Select "System Aliases" give some Alias Name, let's call it "SAP_R/3"
    15)  Now that System is created we have to create a iView which will display the given Transaction Code.
    16)  Go To "Content Administration".
    17)  Go To "Portal Content".
    18)  Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder
    19)  Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "New" -> iView
    20)  Select iView template, click next
    21)  Select "SAP Transaction iView" from the list of templates available. Click next.
    22)  Give the iView name and iView ID. Incase you want to give any brief notes about the iView then give it in "Description" field. Click next
    23)   Select "SAP GUI for HTML" radio button. Click next
    24)  Now select the system which you have create "SAP_R/3", give some Transaction Code, say SE12 (Dictionary Display). Click next and Finish.
    25)  Now Preview the iView
    26)  You will see a new Window where in SE12 Dictionary Display window is displayed.
    Regards,
    Senthil K.

From the iSaSiLk everything seems to be OK, but on the SAP WebAS the error "none of the PSEs registered with hSsl can suffice the negotiated SSL cipher suite" is really unclear, since the cipher chosen by the iSaSiLk is one of the ciphers sent by SAP WebAS...
Can anyone give me any suggestion?

    Hello Olivier,
    Thanks for your answer.
I've implemented note 800240 which facilitates the PSE analysis by implementing the report ZSSF_TEST_PSE. With this report I'm able to check all the PSE content, which are:
    Filename            SAPSSLSPHTID.pse

An iSaSiLk server "is a Java programming language implementation of the SSLv2 (client-side), SSLv3, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols. It supports all defined cipher suites (except for Fortezza), including all AES and PSK cipher suites. iSaSiLk implements all standard TLS extensions, comes with an easy to use API and operates on top of the IAIK-JCE Javau2122 Cryptography Extension. iSaSiLk is highly configurable and will work with any alternative JCE implementation supported by a proper provider for supplying the required cryptographic algorithms".
Once again thanks for your answer.

  • DB Connect, BW on MSSQL, Oracle as external system(NON SAP)

    Hi,
    Requirement:
I want to connect and Extract data from Oracle database (non-sap).
    BI System Details:
    1. BI 7.0 (EHP 1) server is running on MSSQL 2005.
    2. I have WEB AS as ABAP only.
    3. Operating system Win 2003 server.
    Oracle Database (NON SAP) Details:
    1. OS : Win 2003
    2. Oracle 10g Release 2
    Activity:
    1. I have downloaded, unpacked and copied the Database Shared Library (DBSL) as mentioned on sap help link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/fdccb72aa95277e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    2. I have installed the oracle 8i client on BW server and configured the tnsnames.ora file. I am able to ping(tnsping sap.world) the oracle database through command prompt(cmd).
    3. RSA1 -> Source system -> DB Connect.
    4. Right Click on DB Connect -> Create.
    5. Entered following entries in screen: Create Source System
    Logical System Name : Oracon
Source System Name  : Oracle Connection
    6. Click on Enter icon.
    7. I make the following entries in the screen "Description Of Database Connections"
    DB Connection  : Oracon
    DBMS : ORA
User Name : username of oracle database with admin right
    DB password : database password
    Conn. info : sap.world
    Permanent : unticked
    Connection Limit: empty
    Optimum Conns : empty
    8. Click on SAVE Button
    9. Click on Back Button and again click on Back Button
    10. Now i got the Dialog box "Cannot Access Source System ORACON" with three button.
    System Log
    Correct
    Cancel
    11. I clicked on System Log and checked the log.
    12. I am getting the following error
No shared library found for the database with ID ORACON
Documentation for system log message BY G :
As well as the standard connection, an attempt was made to set up
another database connection, under the specified ID. The Shared Library
for this second database could not be found.
The Shared Library is usually found in the  Executable
directory (profile parameter DIR_LIBRARY) under the name dbs
<dbs>slib<os_ext>. <dbs> stands for the database type and <os_ext>
stands for the operating system-specific extension of the Shared
    Libraries.
The database type is determined from the entry that corresponds to the
specified DB ID in the table DBDCON. Check whether the data in this
    entry is correct.
Please Help me to rectify the error.
    Regards,
    Aslam Khan

    Hi,
    and thanks for the answers.
Now I have the oracle client installed on the BW server, and the dbsoraslib library has been copied to the BW run directory. But any attempt to connect to the system just gives me the error "No shared library found for the database with ID AGRESSO"
(I get ths error no matter what I input when trying to set up the connection, also if I intentionally gives wrong ID and/or IP)
I'm wondering if my input is the problem, and then, what would be correct.
    My tnsnames.ora looks like this
    AGRESSO =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)(Port = 1521))
          (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx))(Port = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = db06)
    (edited out ip adress)
When creating the connection I give
    Logical system name "AGRESSO",
source system name I assume I can give whatever here.
Type and release I leave blank.
    Next screen I give:
DB Connection: AGRESSO (Can not be edited)
    DBMS: ORA
Username/passord as given by the server admin
Conn. info I have tried many different inputs. AGRESSO, the IP adress, the SID (db06), but no luck.
Anyone have any knowledge about what to give as input? (if the tnsnames.ora is lacking information etc)
    Thanks for any input.
    Regards,
    Øystein

  • SAP Web AS Connection Problem

    Hi Gurus,
I am now facing one problem about creating a system in EP.
My system is Netweaver 04s with AS,EP and BI with SP13. All run in one single server.
I maintained the SAP Web AS, and tested the connection, got the following message:
    4. The following parameters are valid: Web AS Protocol (http) Web AS Host Name (192.168.2.62:50000)
    5. The host name 192.168.2.62 was resolved successfully.
    6. The server 192.168.2.62 could not be pinged successfully.
Strange that the ping fails, cause all the instances are running in the same server.
"Connection Test for Connectors" works fine for me by using SSO from portal to abap.
    Please give the solution.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
You mean to say you are using IP address to login to portal. Using IP address has caused many problems. I am not sure if this would solve your issue but it is always recommended to use fully qualified domain name as host while accesssing portal. You can check using that too.
