System copy - BSP applications launching with old host name
Hi
After system copy, when we test any bsp application, a new window is opened in the internet explorer with the old Web server hostname. These bsp applications are not launching with the new server name.
I checked all the ICM settings and they all fine.
Is there any database table which has the old web server entries?

Resolved by ourselves. Deleting the contents in table HTTPURLLOC fixed the issue.

I am setting up a home server for my family (4 users) running a late 2010 Mac mini server with OSX Server 3.0.1
I am computer literate but am new to server hosting. I have successfully navigated setting up DNS properlly the way I want it, but am now running into a problem setting up a family mail server.
When I first got the machine I just played around with the server settings under Snow Leopard and turned on some services without really intending to use them as we were all using Google services at the time. I now want to get off those services, such as mail, etc. and host them myself.
Anyway, I've registered a domain and pointed it to my machine, and everything appears to be working properly. I used GoDaddy.com to register the domain.
But after setup of the Mail server, getting my ISPs mail relay server configured, etc. I get the following when I test using telnet to connect to port 25:

You'll notice I then double checked that my DNS was set up correctly, and then checked the host name again for good measure. However, Postfix is calling my outgoing SMTP by the old and never really used host name still.
I would really appreciate any help you knowledgable people could give me! Is there a library file that needs updating and if so how do I do that? I found a similar problem here but this is on a linux box, which I have no experience with whatsoever, and can't figure out how to do what he did.

SAP SQL System Copy backup restore method with ADS(Adobe document services)

i´m preparing a system copy with ERP 6.0 in windows and SQL server with ADS.
I have a doubt, can i do the System Copy backup/restore method with ADS??
or the only method that works is with system export/import in all instances??

Is your ADS system separate from your ERP system, or are they on the same server?
In any case, you can use backup/restore to copy a Java system, but you must also make a system export/import for the Java server components. The two work in conjunction, so that the export tool doesn't export your whole database, only the components maintained in the filesystem. If you select the database detach/attach or backup/restore method in the tool when going against the Java system, it will prompt you at the right point in the process to make your Java export as well.
The caveat is that the Java export requires downtime, so it isn't possible to copy a Java system without impacting system availability, as it is with a pure ABAP system.

The first page works fine but when I submit my form it fails. I debugged and the request object doesn't look right.

there is an issue with Internet Explorer that causes this problem when you launch the BSP applicaiton using the test menu in SE80. The issue does not occur with Firefox...very strange I know.
Anyway, to get around this you just copy the BSP application URL and open a browser and paste the URL in...so essentially do not use the "Test" in SE80 to launch your application.

I set system debugging for my BSP application going thru SICF. I have external breakpoint set at do_init method of my controller class. If I execute the BSP from portal, it doesn't stop at the breakpoint in my controller class. Any help is appreciated.Hi,

Choose Utilities -> Settings. On the following dialog box for the user-specific settings, on the tab ABAP Editor choose the embedded tabstrip HTTP Debugging and activate HTTP debugging globally for your user.
In the Web Application Builder of the development workbench, you can also activate or deactivate HTTP debugging:
Choose Utilities -> Breakpoints ®(De)activate for HTTP user.
Ensure that deleting all breakpoints does not automatically deactivate HTTP debugging.

I have a user name on my computer that was tied in with the domain name of the server at my workplace. I would access Firefox under this user name. I have now changed jobs, and for good and obvious reasons can no longer utilize my previous company associated username.
I have set up a new username on the same computer. When I access Firefox, all of my old bookmarks are gone, because Firefox does not recognize me under the new username as the same person. In the meantime, I have established new bookmarks under the new username.
I have copied my profile from Firefox under my old username. Can I have two profiles under my new username and pick which one I want to use at that time when accessing Firefox?
I am running Windows 7 Professional, with 4 gig ram, Intel i3 CPU, 2.13 GHz, 64 bit operating system, Firefox 7.0.1

2. Select Local Net Service Name Configuration the click the Next button
3. Check Add then click the Next button
4. Type the Service Name of the database you want to connect to, then click the Next button
5. On the next screen, select TCP and click the Next button
6. On the next screen, enter the full name for the Host name using a fully qualified domain name and then tell the system which Port the database is using. Click the Next button
7. If you know a username and password on the database select Yes, perform a test and then click the Next button. While this is not a mandatory step it is well worth doing as it will show whether you can connect to the database.
8. On the next screen, the test will either succeed or fail. If it says Invalid username / password click the Change Login button and enter a known username / password combination
9. When informed Connecting... Test successful click the Next button
10. Provide a name that you want to know this connection by then click the Next button
11. When asked if you would like to configure another service name, select No and click the Next button
12. Click the Next button again
13. Click the Finish button

Bridge copy and paste folders with the same name question
I just copied and pasted a folder named, as an example, "concerts" with a bunch of pictures to another drive with a folder with the same name.
I choosed "substitute" when prompted and all the pics existing in old "concerts" folder have been deleted and replaced with just the new ones.
So pasting a folder can't add files to the folder with the same name, but it completely replaces it. The other prompted option creates a "concerts (1)" new folder.
Luckyly before moving files I always do a backup, so it's not a big issue, but I'm amazed by such behaviour. Also deleted pictures don't appear in the recycle bin. Are you on Windows? don't know the options you tell, I have three options (Mac) called: 'cancel', 'replace' and 'auto resolve' when dealing with one file and for multiple files it adds 'skip' to the list and has the option for 'apply all'
Replace does what it says, it replaces files and folders with the same name, auto resolve adds a (1) to the files or other number if more with same name are added.
So pasting a folder can't add files to the folder with the same name, but it completely replaces it. The other prompted option creates a "concerts (1)" new folder.
This is normal and wished behavior, you get a warning if names are the same and a choice to either overwrite them or add them with a new (different) filename.
Luckyly before moving files I always do a backup, so it's not a big issue, but I'm amazed by such behaviour. Also deleted pictures don't appear in the recycle bin. Completely lost!

Hi,
While accessing the portal with a domain name with one dot like .com
or .net, it gives javasctipt error in the login page and the subsequent
page after login. User is not able to browse anything in the portal
after this.
But when the domain name has more than 1 dot like .ngn.com or .ngn.net
or .ngn.fomsa.com, it works abosolutely fine.
Going forward for production, our portal url is http://ngnportal.com
which has domain with one dot. Please suggest the solution for this.
Environment Details are as below-
Operating System:- Solaris 5.9
Database :- Oracle 9.2.0.6
Portal:- EP6.0 SP9

I was going to say that you should use fully qualified domain names. However, I guess you are, you just don't have a very long domain name!
This is probably a bug. You are currently only on SP9, SP16 is now out, so that would probably fix it (just don't use SP13 - it was crap!!).
If that doesn't fix it another possiblity would be to have ngnportal.com redirect to ngnportal.xxx.com just using a standard DNS redirecto or website redirect. A bit of a workaround I know, but it should work.
If patching the portal does not work - raise an OSS message, it is what you pay your licence fee for.

Deploying a copy of existing database with a different name on the same server
I am a developer(an inexperienced one) trying to understand what is the best way to deploy a brand new database with
the exact same schema as an existing DB on the same server, but with a different name. I want to preserve the data in all reference tables which I can do by having the relevant post-deployment scripts run after the deployment.
What I can't understand is how the project should be set up to deploy database Customer_2 if database Customer_1 exists on
this server - the Visual Studio project contains DB Customer and I need to find a way to be able to deploy Customer_N (but without creating N identical DB's in the project). I checked a ton of articles and blogs, and feel dumb asking this question but haven't

Need to copy my application settings from old profile to a new one

Somewhere in my last 15 months of computer usage I have somehow tweaked OS X in such a way that my mouse pointer doesn't let me click multiple times in one particular spot. I have no idea where to look to fix something like this, but just out of curiosity I created a new user profile to see if the same problem would occur. It didn't.
So, in order to get rid of the problem, I thought I would just transfer my key application settings (Thunderbird email, Firefox, and other key apps) into a new profile that did not have this pointer clicking problem on it.
Is there an application that will automate this process? I would need to have the ability to move all the user data from only the apps I want, so that I don't "copy" the settings that are causing my system to give me these pointer problems.

I think "shift" only works with contiguous files while command = Apple" will allow one to click on arbitrary files. I know it works that way in "Mail."

Have tried to get Apple Tech Support and local Apple techs to deal with this problem to no avail. Apple store "genius" throws up hands and says nothing can be done. Root of the problem seems to be that the old non-email AppleID is stuck in their system creating a catch22 that it appears as the account purchasing Apps, then is not recognized as a valid ID, and then disallows any attempt to change it to a recognized email address.
Consequence is that Apps appropriately purchased can not be updated. Apple store advises us to delete them and repurchase, but this seems more Windowsian than Applian. Any Ideas??Hello J_DougBC,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I found an article that addresses Apple IDs that are different than the Primary Email Address on the account. You will need to go to https://appleid.apple.com/ to "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same."
If your Apple ID and primary email address do not match, or they match but the email address is unverified, you can edit them.
1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
2. If you want to add and verify an email address that matches your Apple ID, follow the dialog box that says "Make your Apple ID and email address one and the same." This will automatically unverify that email address from any other Apple ID for which it was previously verified.
3. If you want to change your email address to one that does not match your Apple ID, click Edit next to your Primary Email Address. If this email address is already associated with another Apple ID, you will need to sign in with that Apple ID and delete it before you can add it to your preferred Apple ID.
Note: If you have an @me.com or @mac.com Apple ID and primary email address, you cannot edit your primary email address once it has been verified. To change your @me.com or @mac.com primary email address to another email address, contact Apple Support for assistance.

PDF files keep coming with old file name not as current file name
Hi,
I have a problem when exporting InDesign docs to PDF with some documnets. If I change the name in the export dialog box, then every time I export this doc to PDF in the future this name keep coming, even when I change the name of the document or save it in a new name. This causes confusion, since sometimes the name is completely different from the InDesign file name. What can be done to tell InDesign to save the exported PDF file according to the current file name and don’t remember the old PDF file name?
I was thinking of a script, is there a ready one to use?

Though it is bit hard to have everyone in the studio follow them as a routine. I way I used to do this is to go to Save as command, with right mouse I choose copy the highlighted document name, then I choose cancel, then when I choose to export I'll paste the the name which is the current file name, this is good for me, but I wouldn't dream of having this as a routine for everyone in the studio.
I was thinking it would be easy if I can find a script, since I don't know scripting, to do just that, i.e. have Indesign to copy the current filename of the document (whether by doing the same trick as I am doing or if there is a direct command to do that in the script), then the script will go to the export dialog box, paste that name, then I will go on with the normal export dialog box options.
This script will be easier to have everybody in the studio to follow.
