Hi.
I have satellite A665-S6094 (US Version). I created system image and used it before.
After that HDD broken and changed.
But service installed windows7 Turkish version. But my original windows7 is US.
Now when i want to use my system image, it doesnt work.
But as i said before, i use my system image on my old hdd. So dvd has not error.
What can i do now, how to load my system image to new hdd?
Sorry, your image won't work even if they had installed usa version it would not work! cause when you create a image in the background it puts exclussive system rights codes to the image [ like a passcode ] and only the origanator windows can access the image! Microsoft done this on purpose to hold their rights, so users could not replicate to other systems!

Satellite A665-S6094 BIOS Instability with 4GB of RAM
I recently upgraded the RAM in my Sattelite A665-S6094 laptop to 8GB, and I was cheerfully greeted with frequent memory-related bluescreens and an inability to use the sleep function.
The laptop works perfectly with the original 2x 2Gb modules installed, but problems show up if I add any more.
When trying to wake the computer from sleep, it gets to the login screen and promptly shuts down as if I pulled the power. This crash is not logged in the system anywhere.
While in Windows, I periodically get a stop error classified as "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" with no apparent direct cause.
These problems only exist when the installed RAM exceeds the original 4GB size.
I am running the most recent BIOS revision; version 2.20.Hi sanremo,
I saw the document you suggest and I think it was quite useful. I realized that my processor, my chipset and the system supports 64-bit edition of Windows, so I think I will try to install it. I would like to try Windows XP Pro 64-bit and not Vista, but Toshiba do not supply drivers for XP 64-bit. They have available XP 32-bit and Vista 32-bit & 64-bit. So I will try the Vista Business 64-bit.

System Image Restore in Window 8.1
I have not been able to find a data migration application that works at cloning a Windows 8.1 hard drive to a new SSD. With that in mind I want to go about moving the contents, data and operating system from my working C: to a new SSD. I want
to go about it as if I have backed up my system, my C: drive has failed so I need to install a new drive and restore my data and operating system to the new drive. I can't seem to find any simple (this should be simple) straight forward way to do this
nor can I find any form of written instruction on how to go about this.
I would love to have someone articulate this. As it stands I have a fully operational intact C drive. I have completed a disk image to a second separate hard drive. I now want to restore that content to a third (SSD ) drive.
Where do I begin?There is a system backup tool called System Image Backup, follow these steps to conduct this:
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)
Enter File History in the search box, tap or click File History, and then click System Image Backup at the left part.
See the screenshot as below, you can backup it on local machine or a DVD or a network share folder:
Besides, I need to point out that this backup method will generate a vhd file, if you want to restore the system you need an DVD installation midia.
You cannot just restore a vhd file directly to the hard drive.

When HP Recovery isn't available... system image using Windows 8 as backup?
Would like to start out with a big shout out to Paul T for his VERY useful thread here ! http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/Windows-8-Product-Key-for-Pavilion-G6/m-p/3882966/highlight/false#M205987 A friend's family asked me to work on their laptop since I know more about computers than they do ... they're very good people, was happy to help them out but true to form like a lot of PC users they didn't bother keeping ANY of the documentation that came with the laptop (HP Pavilion g6-2298nr ), nor did they bother to burn recovery DVD's using HP's built in recovery software program that comes standard on the laptops... if I'm interpreting what HP's website had to say about the laptop , model HP Pavilion g6-2298nr, correctly, according to it's serial number it no longer qualifies for free tech support and I'd have to pay HP a fee just to talk to someone and order the recovery DVD's (friend's family bought it back in Dec 2014 so to me it seems REALLY strange that I wouldn't be able to just order the recovery DVD's without having to pay tech support a fee just to ask to order the recover DVD's ! .. but anyways...)... This is where having the product key "built into" the BIOS really comes in handy ! I crossed my fingers, used the method mentioned in the thread linked above, and it worked ! ... have to admit it was a bit strange at first not using the product key sticker like the old days but I can see how this works better in the long run - helps to prevent piracy, you don't have to worry if someone who doesn't realize the importance of the product key sticker peels it off and throws it away ... Unfortunately it looks like when you reinstall Windows this way you lose the HP Backup and Recovery Program ... in this case my friend's family had the misfortune of paying someone to repair this laptop who didn't bother to tell them " Hey, I replaced the hard drive that's going bad but if you don't get a laptop cooler for this sucker the laptop's just going to overheat again ! " ... sure enough, the money they paid this so called "tech repair" person went down the drain when the laptop fried a second hard drive, or maybe the tech saddled them with a bad hard drive who knows? (the tech bought an OEM hard drive off ebay) ... ... sorry to sound harsh about this tech guy, I will admit I only worked in the PC repair field for a few months over a decade ago before leaving it to be a stay-at-home-dad (wife is a pharmacist so I'm lucky enough to be able to stay home) so my experience is VERY limited compared to other people .. but back then I always treated my customers the way I'd treat a friend, and if it's a friend you offer advice on how to prevent problems like this in the future... this laptop gets HOT like you wouldn't believe , I have it sitting on a very reliable laptop cooler (thick slab of aluminum that does a great job as a heatsink with fans, this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834953038 and I've let my friend's family know in no uncertain terms they need to order this laptop cooler if they're going to use this laptop) ... The hard drive replacement I installed seems to be working fine but of course it's not an "official WD hard drive" .... when I tried to install the photolink cyberdirector software for example at the link below got a " this isn't a WD hard drive so can't install this software" error message... http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-g6-2200-notebook-pc-series/5296082/model/5333338#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2 which is fine I really don't think my friend's family will care about that program... but it makes me wonder, even if I trusted the download at this link below http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5190-hp-backup-and-recovery-manager.html if the HP Backup and Recovery manager program would even work to begin with since it's not an official WD hard drive (I also ordered an OEM hard drive off ebay .. but not charging my friend's family for the hard drive since they've been good to my munchkins and didn't want them to pay through the nose for a more expensive hard drive so of course I wanted to minimize my own expenses...)... also I think that sort of program relies on a " C " and " D " drive being set up like it was when the laptop shipped with the original hard drive and saves a backup copy on the " D " drive.. I suppose I could use disk management to create a different partition, label it " D " and see if HP Backup and Recovery worked but it seems a bit.. iffy... not to mention that I feel uncomfortable downloading something that isn't directly on HP's website as an "official" download... I know that Windows 8 has a "system image" utility built into it that lets you make just that.. a system image.. like I said my friend's family are good people but I'm guessing sooner or later they're going to screw this laptop up again like a lot of computer users do .. it would be nice if I could burn a system image of what's on the laptop right now onto DVD and hang onto it so when they come back to me in the future hollering "Help , laptop isn't working again ! " I can just restore from the system image on DVD rather than having to go through the hassle of reinstalling Windows, graphics/audio/et cetera drivers, zillion and one Windows updates et cetera all over again. What I'm wondering is... would this even work? I've never tried to use system image in a situation like this with the product key being "built into" the BIOS , that sort of thing is brand new to me... is it worth burning the DVD's and hanging onto them just in case? Thanks man it's really helpful to know that someone else has used this exact same method successfully to back up their HP computers ! Will do just that... yep, yep I know it'll be at least 10 DVD's or something crazy like that after all those windows updates download ... problem with using an external hard drive is I can't convince my friend's family to buy one no matter how many times I warn them it's not "if" your PC gets messed up it's " when " ..... and my external hard drives are all in use with system image backups of my own PC's ... so will burn the DVD's for 'em then just hang on to them and wait for the inevitable And thanks for the kind words about my work for them too ! .. it's a lot of effort but they've been super nice to me so it's the least I can do ... they're actually parents of one of my daughter's best friends and they've taken my munchkin out to various places and flat out refused to let me pay them back for it so it feels good to be able to help them out this way... though I wish they'd come to me first instead of letting themselves get ripped off by the so called PC tech I mentioned earlier (would it have killed the guy to burn them a set of recovery DVD's? Heck if he wanted to be selfish and greedy he could have just offered it to them for an "additional fee" but it would have saved them and me a lot of trouble ! Though I'm not sure if the recovery DVD's would cooperate given that it's not an "official HP hard drive" I put in there? ) It occured to me that if I call tech support they probably can't charge me if I don't give them a credit card number .. so I did (1-888-698-3762).. they said the warranty on this laptop expired Dec 2013 ! Friend's family said they bought it in Dec 2014 from QVC, hope QVC didn't sell them a used laptop ! ... HP wanted over a hundred dollars for an "official" HP hard drive said no thanks to that... HP says despite me putting in a non-HP hard drive that recovery DVD's should work ... HP wanted $ for recovery DVD's (tried to help me order recovery DVD's off HP website, they couldn't find the link on there to them either for some reason... maybe 'cause laptop is an older model??? ) ... HP asked for thirty dollars (cheapest option!) for recovery DVD's ... but mentioned that if the laptop really was purchased Dec 2014 and if I e-mail them proof of purchase they'll ship out recovery DVD's for free instead since it would be within it's one year warranty period.. I'm waiting on the friend's family to give me the proof of purchase for me to scan and e-mail to HP ... though I think I'm going to go ahead and use system image to burn the DVD's first THEN run the HP recovery DVD's (if they do in fact turn out ot be free) in case the HP rep made a mistake and the HP recovery DVD's don't like the "unofficial" HP hard drive on this laptop...

System Image Restore Fails "No disk that can be used for recovering the system disk can be found"

- Our critical server image backup Fails on one
server -
Two 2008 R2 servers. Both do a nightly "Windows Server Backup" of Bare Metal Recovery, System State, C:, System Reserved partition, to another storage hard drive on the same machine as the source. Active Directory is on the C: The much larger D: data
partition on each source hard drive is not included.
Test recovery by disconnecting 500G System drive, booting from 2008R2 Install DVD, recovering to a new 500G SATA hard drive.
Server A good.
Server B fails. It finds the backed-up image, & then we can select the date we want. As soon as the image restore is beginning and the timeline appears, it bombs with "The system image restore failed. No disk that can be used for recovering the system
disk can be found." There is a wordy Details message but none of it seems relevant (we are not using USB etc).
At some point after this, in one (or two?) of the scenarios below, (I forget exactly where) we also got :
"The system image restore failed. (0x80042403)"
The destination drive is Not "Excluded".
Used diskpart clean to remove volumes from destination drive. Recovery still errored.
Tried a second restore-to drive, same make/model Seagate ST3500418AS, fails.
Tried the earliest dated B image rather than the most recent, fail.
The Server B backups show as "Success" each night.
Copied image from B to the same storage drive on A where the A backup image is kept, and used the A hardware to attempt restore. Now only the latest backup date is available (as would occur normally if we had originally saved the backup to a network location).
Restore still fails. It looks like its to do with the image rather than with the hardware.
Tried unticking "automatically check and update disk error info", still fail.
Server A SRP 100MB C: 50.6GB on Seagate ST3500418AS 465.76GB Microsoft driver 6.1.7600.16385 write cache off
Server B SRP 100MB C: 102GB on Seagate ST3500418AS 465.76GB Microsoft driver 6.1.7600.16385 write cache off
Restore-to hard drive is also Seagate ST3500418AS.

1. While recovering the OS to the new Hard disk, please don't keep the original boot disk attached to the System. There is a Disk signature for each hard disk. The signature will collide if the original boot disk signature is assigned to the new disk.
You may attach the older disk after recovering the OS. If you want to recover data to the older disk then they should be attached as they were during backup.
2. Make sure that the new boot disk is attached as the First Boot disk in hardware (IDE/SATA port 0/master) and is the first disk in boot order priority.
3. In Windows Recovery Env (WinRE) check the Boot disk using: Cmd prompt -> Diskpart.exe -> Select Disk = System. This will show the disk where OS restore will be attempted. If the disk is different than the intended 2 TB disk then swap the disks in
correct order in the hardware.
4. Please make sure that the OS is always recovered to the System disk. (Due to an issue: BMR might recover the OS to some other disk if System disk is small in size. Here the OS won't boot. If you belive this is the case, then you should attach the
bigger sized disk as System disk and/or exclude other disks from recovery). Disk exclusion is provided in System Image Restore/Complete PC Restore UI/cmdline.
5. Make sure that Number and Size of disks during restore match the backup config. Apart from boot volumes, some other volumes are also considered critical if there are services/roles installed on them. These disks will be marked critical for recovery and
should be present with minimum size requirement.

Restore System Image in Win 8.1
I've created a system image and the recovery media disks.
Now, I want to restore the system image. I've booted from the DVD but which option do I choose: TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard or System recovery Options
Thank youl ran my business for 14 years using two TRS-80 Model II machines. We used CP/M for the operating system instead of TRSDOS. Had altogether four of those 8-inch floppy drives for each computer.

[Forum FAQ] Schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup in Windows 8.1
As we known that there is no UI for user to configure Image backup in Windows 8.1, this is a guide for your to schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup.
Step 1: Create a task to schedule an image backup with following command:
SCHTASKS /Create /SC WEEKLY /D MON /TN WeeklyFullBackup /RL HIGHEST /ST 13:00 /TR “wbAdmin Start Backup -backupTarget:F: -include:C: -allCritical -quiet”
Step 2: Schedule a robocopy to backup the saved image with BAT file:
Please create a new folder (in this example, the new folder is e:\test2) to save your multiple copies of image backup:
Write following batch file to copy backup and rename with backup date:

robocopy e:\test1\ e:\test2\ test.wim
ren e:\test2\test.wim test_%date:~10,4%%date:~7,2%%date:~4,2%_%time:~0,2%%time:~3,2%.wim
NOTE: e:\test2 is my location to save multiple copies of image backup; e:\test1 is the location I create the system image backup.
This BAT can also help to rename the copy of image backup with date and time like below:
3. Set up a basic task in Task schedule:
Note: please make sure the time you configured follows the time you set for image backup in Step 1.
Action -> Create basic task (Name you task) -> Trigger (Set how often this task should be run) -> Action (Start a program) -> Under Program/script, point to your bat file you create in Step 2.b -> Finish

Trying to make a system Image disc in windows 8.1 HP envy desktop 700-019
I have been trying to create a system Image on my desktop but I cannot do it, I have followed all the Instructions, tried Memorex discs, tried verbatim discs and tried nexXTECH discs but I always get an error message That there is not enough free space on the back up storage location to back up data error 0x80780048, no option to use a thumb drive and no option to format the disc, the other error code I get is 0x800704C8, File history is turned off and cannot turn it back on.
It tells me to create my own hard drive but when I click E drive to burn the disc to I am back to the error messages, I have next to nothing on this desktop, no pics, no videos, no games, perhaps 20 songs and thats it besides Norton and Microsoft office Home and Student. It has a 2 terabyte hard drive with 12GB of RAM and there is no way this could be full, I just do not understand what is going on.
Can anyone help please.

HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer, inside the battery compartment, or on the BIOS startup/setup screen. Please do not include the serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Please use Windows "System Image Backup" utility to create an exact image of the Windows 8.1 partition as it currently is, on an external hard drive. You may also need to create a Windows "repair" disc. If your computer developes issues or you need to replace the hard drive, all you have to do is "restore" the image to the computer. Please see Windows 8.1 Tip: Use System Image Backup for instructions on creating and restoring a "Windows - System Image Backup."
This process is not a system recovery and is different than using Window Restore or Refresh, or HP System Recovery.

System Image Backup in windows 8.1 not working

I am trying to take system image backup on windows 8.1 with USB drive attached and I am getting the following error which is given at the end of the post. It always says the backup location is invalid.When I tried with -allCritical it fails with
I tried to wbadmin enable backup, that also fails with "Warning: The ENABLE BACKUP command is not supported in this version of Windows. The operation ended before completion."
Can someone help with the wbadmin backup, please. It seems to be a red-herring.

Trying to Create a Catalog file using WSIM (Windows System Image Manager)
I have been looking online for a solution to htis problem for days and come up with nothing so any help would be amazingly helpful.
I have created a Windows 8.1 image which I would like to role out to all users within my company but when trying to create a catalog file I am getting an erorr message saying "Windows SIM was unable to generate a catalog." It says "Mounting
Windows Image file......This might take a few minutes" and then fails after 6-7mins.
When opening the log file I get this:

The one image that did work (LiteTouchPE_x64.wim) was from the OS I imported to Microsoft Workbench but the components are different to any that I have seen online when looking on how to do this.
I have made sure that the architecture is x64 and tried from ISO files I have on the system already but get the same error.
This is the first project I have been involved in and only ever done IT support before this.

System Image Backups fails after upgrading to Windows 8.1 with 0x80040154
Backed up a Windows 8.0 system to DVD with no issues. Upgraded the computer to 8.1, and now when we tried to backup the system to DVD, we are getting the error message "An error occurred, class not registered (0x80040154)"
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

According to your description,did you format the BD-R disc ?
Before you start system image backup, please format the BD-R disc.

System image utility fails "Unknown error has occurred"
Hi,
I can create disk images from 10.8.3 clients but when i'm putting them through system utility on the 10.8 server it fails after hours of running.
The log is set to debug and shows the image creates upto 83% then jumps to 100% and later shows unknown errors and failed to create image from restore souce.
I've created several disk images and saved them to different locations on the server as the source and final image.
Below i've put in the debug log. Someone please help!!

Gets to 84% and then shows the -1 progress and then just hangs until I cancel it (I haven't tried leaving it over night but left it that way for hours).
Did you ever figure out what was going on or have a workaround to create an image?

System Image for G5 (PPC) and iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo)
hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to create a common system image Mac OS X 10.4.10 that I can "deploy" in out two mac labs. One with G5 (PPC-based machines) and the other with iMac (Intel-based machines).
If yes, how can I do that ? with a script ?
I tried to boot a G5 with image made on IMac and it didn't boot...
Anybody can help me ?

As they are not comparable versions of Mac OS X, a dual boot configuration would be needed. One with a GUID (for Intel) formatting, and one with Apple Partition Map (for PowerPC). This Mac OS X hints page explains how to make a dual boot configuration:
