Systemd service and root script

I have simple "regroup.service" for systemd, it excue on start "script.sh". Systemd excue "regroup.service" on start but command in script requires root permission.
-rwxr--r-- 1 root root 316 05-31 21:24 /usr/lib/systemd/scripts/script.sh
Which way is the best for excue script via systemd?

Script do:
#!/bin/sh
exist=false
start(){
fil=$(ls /dev/nvidia* | wc -l)
if [ $fil != "0" ]
then
exist=true
chgrp video /dev/nvidia*
fi
stop(){
if [ $exist ]
then
chgrp root /dev/nvidia*
fi
case $1 in
start|stop) "$1" ;;
*) echo "You should pass correct options like start or stop" ;;
esac
When I call service "#systemctl start regroup" group is changed.

  • Help with Web Service and Action Script

    Hi! I have a Web Service to which I should pass multiple
    parameters. I would like to implement it completely in Action
    Script for studing. What's happening is that in the call I pass 3
    parameters and the soap message created is repeating the first
    parameter. Let me explain better:
    Here is the declaration of the webService:
    quote:
    <mx:WebService
    id="ws"
    wsdl="
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/WS1/pessoaService/pessoa.wsdl">
    <mx:operation name="PesquisarPessoa">
    <mx:request>
    <PesquisarPessoaRequest>
    <id>{fieldId0.text}</id>
    <nome>{fieldNome0.text}</nome>
    <endereco>{fieldEndereco0.text}</endereco>
    </PesquisarPessoaRequest>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>
    Here is my action script which invokes the PesquisarPessoa
    operation:
    quote:
    private function exibirAlterarRegistro():void {
    ws.PesquisarPessoa(fieldId0.text, fieldNome0.text,
    fieldEndereco0.text);
    Here is the message catched by the web service (It repeats
    the first parameter):
    quote:
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>
    <schema:PesquisarPessoaRequest xmlns:schema="
    http://www.example.org/Pessoa">
    <schema:id>3</schema:id>
    <schema:nome>3</schema:nome>
    <schema:endereco>3</schema:endereco>
    </schema:PesquisarPessoaRequest>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    Thanks!

    check the names of parameters published to the wsdl
    file.

  • How to make a systemd service for a bash script with pipes?

    I haven't been able to make a successful systemd service from this script.
    The script itself works (in terminal and xdg autostart), but systemd doesn't run anything after the first pipe (neither sed nor spd-say execute).
    Here's my service:
    [Unit]
    Description=Speak kernel and userspace messages
    [Service]
    Type=simple
    ExecStart=/usr/local/sbin/dmesg-speak
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    Systemd says the script starts successfully, but only dmesg is started; it's output is not piped through sed or spd-say.
    I've also tried Type=forking without much success.
    Is there something I can do other than switching to sysv-init?
    Do I need IgnoreSIGPIPE=false?

    fsckd wrote:The linked script appears to lack a hashbang. No hashbang = arbitrary interpretor.
    Yeah, that should probably be there. Since last post I've employed /usr/bin/bash in the service and added a hasbang, but sdp-say still does not run as a systemd service.
    I didn't test either option individually; the key seems to be finding an audio output accessible before user login. I am not certain:
    ccoffey wrote:If a pulseaudio session exists at all
    I am curious to try this:
    ccoffey wrote:run pulseaudio and dbus via XVFB.
    Setting DISPLAY as root would then allow you play audio.
    Still, it seems to me that ALSA would be available at some stage during boot, as is speech-dispatcher (for working with speakup!). If espeak were configured to play audio for root to ALSA, there would be a sound outlet for it (espeak can be used in pipeline mode without speech-dispatcher if need be), and pulseaudio would be probably be OK with that whenever it got around to starting (audio passed through alsa gets piped through, regardless of its source right?).
    I have tried the script with espeak instead of spd-say without success.

  • [SOLVED] systemd service not starting

    Hi,
    Been using Arch for just over a week now moving from Ubuntu and loving it. Achieved so much more on Arch in this short time until this evening.
    I am trying to run a shell script at startup. I added the service file under /etc/systemd/system/myapp.service
    With the following content:
    [Unit]
    Description=Notification
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/myscript
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    As it is I can run "systemctl restart myapp.service" and the script execute flawlessly however on reboot it does nothing and I get this error when I run systemctl status myapp.service:
    systemctl status myapp.service
    myapp.service - Notification
       Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/myapp.service; enabled)
       Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Thu 1970-01-01 10:00:08 EST; 14s ago
      Process: 116 ExecStart=/usr/bin/myscript (code=exited, status=6)
    Other info:
    Script starts with #!/bin/sh
    Script permissions 755
    Tried adding After=network.target under unit.
    Tried Type=oneshot and forking
    O yes /var/log/messages.log | grep myapp

    Reaching the network.target does not necessarily mean that an active connection has been reached.  For example, if you use wicd or netctl-auto, it will report the stating of the service as successful after the daemon itself has started, but starting the daemon simply means that it is ready to start scanning for wireless networks and then connect.
    If you want to be absolutely sure that there is a network connection before the service starts, you should use NetworkManager.service.  That will also pull in the NetworkManager-wait-online.service which will not complete until a full connection has been reached.  At that point the startup will have reached the network-online.target.  So you should order the service after that instead.  In reality, you should order it after that anyway, no matter what netowrk connection service you use, as that is a built in target to systemd.
    Even though you have the RestartSec=35 and Restart=on-failure (which is a sane thing to do IMO), it is probably a good idea to order it After=netowrk-online.target anyway, as that will cause the service to start a bit later and at least attempt to order itself correctly.  That way it will also ensure that the service is stopped before the network is taken down as well, hopefully ensuring a clean disconnect as well.

  • [Solved] Systemd user service and timer dbus error

    I have installed arch recently and added a few of my own services, for example the acpi_call commands and such. Now I want to create a systemd service that runs every 5 minutes and execute a script.
    I searched a lot and I found that I must use timers. I got the thing with the timers working, but because my script has to do with a specific user, I want it to run only every 5 minutes when i am logged in as that user.
    I tried to put the files in /etc/systemd/users, .config/local/users and all the possibilities but everytime i want to enable it, it says dbus connection refused.
    Can somebody please provide me a way to execute a systemd service every 5 minutes while I am logged in as a specific user?
    I did follow the wiki and created a dbus service and all. Everything works on that side but i can't enable my user service.
    thanks!

    The error says "Failed to get D-Bus connection: Connection refused".
    I did what the wiki said: Create the dbus files, enable them and such.
    No i put my service files + timer in the places mentioned by the wiki but everytime i try to enable them, that error shows up.

  • [SOLVED] Launching systemd service as non-root user

    I need to launch a systemd service as a non-root user. I've looked at this but I'm fairly confused. I don't have xorg or any desktop environment installed (this is a remote server I SSH into) but when I run
    systemctl --user status
    I get
    Failed to get D-Bus connection: Unable to autolaunch a dbus-daemon without a $DISPLAY for X11
    What am I doing wrong?

    I was going in the wrong direction. All I had to do was add 'User=username' and 'Group=groupname' in the [Service] section.

  • [SOLVED] Help with systemd .service script

    Hello,
    I have been using ArchLinux (ARM version) on some “plug computers” for over a year and love it.  Recently I forced myself to move to systemd by upgrading all my computers from scratch.  I migrated all my applications and learned new ways of doing things but am having trouble with one last migration.  I run a c++ communication program that monitors a TCP port for traffic.  In the past I started this program (daemon) from an entry in rc.conf.  I have read all I can about systemd’s new approach to starting daemons (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Systemd/Services)
    So far I created what I thought is the correct systemd .service file listed below.
    [Unit]
    Description=EQBCS
    After=network.target
    [Service]
    Type=simple
    ExecStart=/home/public/EQBCS/eqbcs -p 12947 -d &> /dev/null
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    I put this file in /usr/lib/systemd/system/eqbcs.service.  I then ran the following commands in the following order:
    systemctl daemon-reload
    systemctl enable eqbcs.service (created a link in /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants)
    systemctl start eqbcs.service
    Here is output from systemctl (status)
    eqbcs.service                                 loaded failed failed    EQBCS
    I thought this would start the service but no luck.  I also thought maybe a reboot would work but no luck.  I verified I can start the daemon manually if I run /home/public/EQBCS/eqbcs -p 12947 -d &> /dev/null from the command line.
    I think I am close, but after several hours of looking at examples of .service files and other posts, I am at a loss.  I am not one of those types who posts a question without taking the time to read the wealth of information on these boards, but I am truly out of ideas and can’t figure out what to do next.  I sincerely could use some help/advice.

    Thank you for the suggestions, I believe I am getting closer to success. When I run systemctl start eqbcs.servcie it starts the service but the only way I can get out of systemctl is to ^c out.
    Here is my current .service file:
    [Unit]
    Description=EQBCS
    After=network.target
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/home/public/EQBCS/eqbcs -p 12947
    Type=forking
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    Output from systemctl status eqbcs:

      Process: 427 ExecStart=/home/public/EQBCS/eqbcs -p 12947 (code=killed, signal=TERM)

    Are there any other suggestions for settings in my .service file?

  • Systemd service conventions on package installation and removal

    If a package contains systemd service files, is there an expectation that the services are started/enabled during install and stopped/disabled during removal?

    No. Leave that to the user. The only thing that you may want to do is add a message to the install script's post_install function to remind the user.

  • Enhancing web service tool to have further business objects and roots

    Hi Gurus,
    is it possible to enhance the web service tool in CRM 6.0, to have further business objects and root objects during the creation of a web service.
    Currently, there are specific entries, but I want to have additional data in here to create a customer specific word template.
    I have found out some tables, but I really do not know how to enhance them and if this is the correct way of adding additional business objects in the web service tool.
    Mentioned tables are CRMV_WS_METHODS and CRMV_WS_OBJ_REL.
    Has someone of you already did this? Helpful answers will be awarded.
    ThanX
      AleX

    Does nobody have an idea? According to help.sap, only these objects are web service enabled:
    -Business Transaction
    -Business Partner
    -Campaigns
    -Case
    -Counter
    -Installed Base
    -Marketing Segments
    -Marketing Attributes
    -Product
    source: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm60/helpdata/en/71/365da2ab81488c8fc9b82fd8eb6f0f/content.htm
    But what about other components, such as BuAg (Business Agreement) or ISUMD (IS-U Master Data and further data from the ERP system). These components are in the GenIL, e.g.
    BUAG with implementation class CL_CRM_BUAG_IL1 or
    ISUMD with implementation class CL_CRM_ISU_IL_MD
    Is it necessary to use the Web Service Consumption Tool for creating BOL Objects, although the BUAG/ISUMD are already available in CRM?
    If so, what must be exactly done with this Tool. Does anyone have experiences here and can provide me further information?
    Thanx and regards

  • Systemd socket launching service and failing

    I'm creating an AUR package for poppassd (POP3 Password Changing Service). The application runs in command line using stdin/stdout but is intended to be run using xinetd and pipe the socket as I/O. The code works fine when I run via command line
    $ sudo /usr/bin/poppassd
    200 poppassd
    QUIT
    500 Username required
    $
    When I start the socket
    systemctl start poppassd.socket
    the socket opens and when I try to use telnet to connect I get a disconnect right away and journalctl reports the service exited with a status of 1/FAILURE
    Any ideas why the following service and socket files are not working?
    poppassd.service
    [Unit]
    Description=POP3 Password Change Service
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/poppassd
    StandardInput=socket
    StandardOutput=inherit
    StandardError=journal
    poppassd.socket
    [Socket]
    ListenStream=0.0.0.0:106
    [Install]
    WantedBy=sockets.target

    Note: i've never used poppassd and have not tested what i am about to suggest.
    Since poppassd is written to be invoked by inetd with the nowait flag, it probably wants to be started with an accepted socket, not a listening socket. To do this in systemd, first add the following to the [Socket] section of poppassd.socket:
    Accept=true
    Then change the name of poppassd.service to [email protected]
    Some socket activated template services (ie. [email protected]) also prepend '-' to the ExecStart value to prevent a single failed instance from throwing the service into a failed state.

  • [PowerShell] Script to restart a service and its dependents (and their dependents)

    I am trying to write a PowerShell script that will restart the SNMP Service on a server.  The server in question is an HP server that has the various HP Insight agents installed, and some of these depend on the SNMP Service.  One of these services
    also depends on one of the other HP Insight services (that in turn depends on SNMP Service).
    I can easily write a script that stops and starts the specific services in order, but I don't want to do that.  I like to create scripts that are as flexible as possible.  In this case, I'd like to write a script that takes a service name as input
    and can restart that service, including any dependents (and dependents of those dependents, and dependents of those dependents).  They way to do this seems to be recursion, but I simply cannot get it to work correctly.  Here is what I have so far
    (just trying to get the services to stop in the correct order):
    $MainServiceName = "SNMP"
    $ServiceInput = ""
    $CurrentService = ""
    $Service = ""
    function Custom-Stop-Service ($ServiceInput)
    Write-Host "Name of `$ServiceInput: $($ServiceInput.Name)"
    Write-Host "Number of dependents: $($ServiceInput.DependentServices.Count)"
    If ($ServiceInput.DependentServices.Count -gt 0)
    ForEach ($Service in $ServiceInput.DependentServices)
    Write-Host "Dependent of $($ServiceInput.Name): $($Service.Name)"
    If ($Service.Status -eq "Running")
    Write-Host "$($Service.Name) is running."
    $CurrentService = Get-Service -Name $Service.Name
    Custom-Stop-Service $CurrentService
    Write-Host "Stopping service $($CurrentService.Name)"
    Stop-Service -Name $CurrentService.Name -Force
    Else
    Write-Host "$($Service.Name) is stopped."
    Else
    Write-Host "Stopping service $($ServiceInput.Name)"
    Stop-Service -Name $ServiceInput.Name
    $MainService = Get-Service -Name $MainServiceName
    If ($MainService.Status -eq "Stopped")
    Write-Host "Service $($MainService.Name) is already stopped."
    Else
    Custom-Stop-Service $MainService
    However, it doesn't work like I expect.  Firstly, it never attempts to stop the SNMP service itself.  Secondly while it does seem to stop all the dependents of SNMP correctly, it tries to stop CqMgHost twice.  Here is the output:
    PS C:\Scripts> .\restart_service.ps1

    Can someone suggest a different script or changes to my script so that it will do what I want?  I know that "Stop-Service -Name SNMP -Force" will work but there are two problems with this: 1) it doesn't record the stop events for the dependents in the
    Event Viewer and 2) it doesn't work in reverse ("Start-Service -Name SNMP -Force" nor "Restart-Service -Name SNMP -Force" restart the main service and the other services that depend on SNMP that were stopped).
    I'm a little surprised that Restart-Service doesn't behave like the restart function in the Services MMC does, where it easily and reliably handles the stops and starts of not only the service itself, but dependent services and also properly does event logging.

    I decided to try to understand why you see layers of dependencies.  I found that on WS2008 R2 HP managemnet does have a second layer.  It does not incluse anything but subservices from HP>  VSC is not  a dependency and, from my research,
    should not ever be a dependency.  Of course this does not stop someone from making it a dependency which could create issues.
    Here is a recursive function that will display all dependencies of any service or all services,
    The code returns the service names in order and can be used to restart all services in dependent order.
    function Get-Depends{
    [CmdLetBinding()]
    Param(
    $servicename='SNMP',
    $level = 0,
    [switch]$infoonly
    try{
    Write-Verbose $($("`t" * $level)+$servicename)
    $servicename
    $services=get-service $servicename -ea stop | where{$_.dependentservices}|select -expand dependentservices
    if($services){
    $services | %{Get-Depends $($_.Name) ($level+1) }
    catch{
    $_
    $depends=Get-Depends -v

  • Service start stop scripts and Nagios scripts

    Hello. Are there some "official" service start stop scripts somewhere? And: Has somebody already written a Nagios monitoring script for Oracle NoSQL? Thanks, Jesus.

    Hi. Yes, but I mean something like service kvclient start / stop / restart / status, and using e.g. daemon without nohup. Of course one can be written, e.g. I have a simple one based on a script I found in internet long time ago for Cassandra, but then by Murphy's Law you will probably have an "official" one in the .124 version : - ).

  • Flex mobile project: web root and root path for a remote web service?

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to set up the testdrive tutorial for flex mobile project, with flash builder 4.5
    and php data.
    I've uploaded the files on my remote web space (e.g. http://mywebsite.org, and the
    test file is http://mywebsite.org/TestDrive/test/test.php... and it works
    correctly)... But when i'm setting properties of the project, i don't know what
    to write into the web root and root path fields... I thing root path is simply
    http://mywebsite.org... and whatever i write in the other fields (output folder
    too) i have errors when i click on "validate configuration"...
    What should i put into those fields? is zend framework (and gateway.php)
    strictly necessary?
    As you can see... i'm a bit confused....
    Many thanks for any help
    Bye
    Alex

    I thought it was a simple question...
    No advice?

    I just noticed the exact same thing. It turns out that the httpd-ssl.conf file on my system is still the old v2.2 syntax, which means that the SSLMutex directive is still in there. This is an invalid directive after 2.2.
    This is where things get interesting. At first, I simply thought I had forgotten to merge httpd-ssl.conf.pacnew after apache had been upgraded to 2.4. However, when I check my pacman.log, it appears that httpd-ssl.conf was never upgraded when apache went to 2.4 - (2.2.26-1 -> 2.4.7-1). There was never a pacnew file generated to be merged.
    I took a look at the apache package via the abs and the "proper" httpd-ssl.conf is certainly in there, so why pacman never created a pacnew file is a mystery.
    Anyway, to fix this: pull the httpd-ssl.conf from the apache package, either from your cache, using the abs and building it, or (I think) pacman may re-install it if you move the file to a backup location (not sure about this). Then merge your original httpd-ssl-conf with the new one.

  • Re-write 32bit chroot daemon in systemd service format?

I just switched over fully to systemd (at least I think so) and no longer have the ability to start it since rc.conf no longer exists in the 64bit system (and gets copied in the 32bit chroot daemon script).
    Systemd is quite foreign and I find it a bit overwhelming at the moment, not having had time to digest it yet -- I was sort of forced in due to a recent upgrade.
    In any case, are there suggestions of how to re-write this in systemd language and enable as a service?
    #!/bin/bash
    . /etc/rc.conf
    . /etc/rc.d/functions
    # Add '/var/run /var/lib/dbus' to the list to enable pulseaudio.
    dirs=(/dev /dev/pts /dev/shm /tmp /home)
    case $1 in
    start)
    stat_busy "Starting Arch32 chroot"
    for d in "${dirs[@]}"; do
    mount -o bind $d /opt/arch32$d
    done
    mount -t proc none /opt/arch32/proc
    mount -t sysfs none /opt/arch32/sys
    add_daemon arch32
    stat_done
    stop)
    stat_busy "Stopping Arch32 chroot"
    for (( i = ${#dirs[@]} - 1; i >= 0; i-- )); do
    umount "/opt/arch32${dirs[i]}"
    done
    umount /opt/arch32/{proc,sys}
    rm_daemon arch32
    stat_done
    restart)
    $0 stop
    sleep 1
    $0 start
    echo "usage: $0 {start|stop|restart}"
    esac
    exit 0
    It looks like most of it is just bash code, but things like stat_busy and rm_daemon are no longer commands on my system (perhaps provided by initscripts or sysvinit?).
    I can add this to the wiki page for other services once I have it figured out, as I'm guessing some others use it and will stumble into the same issue. I don't know what stat_done and others do; like I said, most of it would just be storing this somewhere and having systemd call it on boot, but I don't want to break something by missing an important step because I don't know any better (properly unmounting a drive on service shutdown, for instance).
    Thanks for any suggestions/assistance.

    Do you think that would affect my Lotus Notes issue? After following the script commands manually, here is the relevant info:
    $ mount
    dev on /opt/arch32/dev type devtmpfs (rw,nosuid,relatime,size=1986024k,nr_inodes=496506,mode=755)
    devpts on /opt/arch32/dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000)
    devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000)
    tmpfs on /opt/arch32/dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev)
    tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev)
    tmpfs on /opt/arch32/tmp type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime)
    /dev/mapper/root on /opt/arch32/home type ext4 (rw,noatime,commit=600,data=ordered)
    none on /opt/arch32/proc type proc (rw,relatime)
    none on /opt/arch32/sys type sysfs (rw,relatime)
    It looks like I hit the necessary files?
    The one that stands out is /dev/mapper/root on /opt/arch32/home, but that's what results with:
    $ sudo mount -o bind /home /opt/arch32/home
    I'm a bit puzzled about that one... Doing `ls /opt/arch32/home` after mounting, however, does show my user folder in there, and `ls -l` shows they're my permissions (jwhendy:users).
    I do appreciate the help!
    The mount bind for home is actually the way it is supposed to be.  This is the intended behaviour.  It gives you verbatim access to whatever it is bound to.
    Are you actually in the chroot when you start Lotus Notes?  Even though the host architecture shouldn't matter, running 32-bit applications in the chroot should behave correctly.  In the past 32-bit chroot's there was another bash binary called arch32 that did your chroot /opt/arch32, but you can still do that manually.
