T500, how do I disable "client security password manager" popups?

hello.
I have recently noticed an extremely invasive and irritating popup occur frequently upon opening random folders.

I honestly do not know what I have done to trigger this, but I absolutely need to disable it. When UAC appeared warning me about this application, I disallowed it because I did not know what this thing is or what it does. I found out it was from Lenovo but I cannot figure out how to disable it or uninstall it. I do not want this feature, it does not even function correctly. The installation fails becaue it is missing a critical file, but I do not care. I do not want to install anything, I want it GONE. I don't know how much of the thinkvantage suite I would have to remove to get rid of this, I just want it gone, I don't want unexpected popups every time I open a folder, I do not need this feature or whatever it provides. I want to remove it, I cannot find instructions on how to remove this. I saw a tutorial to remove this software but it involves bring up the Thinkvantage menu and selecting"Thinkvantage Technologies" but there is no "Thinkvantage Technologies" option presented on my T500.
If anyone can provide any insight on how to get rid of this extremely irritating piece of software I would greatly appreciate it. It doesn't even function correctly and is extemely frustrating to deal with. It is malware, I would like it gone. Thankyou for your time.
edit: I have not activated my "Security Device" so it appears I cannot access the Client Security Solution which seems to be required to disable this popup. I do NOT want to actiavte anything because I do not want to want the risk of rendering my computer inoperable due to buggy first party software.

I had run into a similar problem. I had windows 7 on a t500 which started giving all such popups every time you access control panel or explorer. I tried system restore it gave an error. I tried uninstalling client security from control panel, same popup. Finally I downloaded an uninstaller from download.com called "revo uninstaller". It removes the files and registry entries. Things seems to work on my end now. Will report is any problem comes up

My T61p system is fully updated, however I continue to get "Please with while windows configures Client Security Password - Manager." and then the computer trys to install

over and over again.
What is the problem here and how can I solve?
How can I contact Lenovo-Thinkpad to assist?
The problem has reoccured even after I did a system restore to an earlier date.
It seems to initiate when I first boot up and then open up "Pictures"

Well, I take everything back. After removing all password entries and re-installing/rebooting, it worked for a while. But now it is doing it all over again. I tried to call techincal support, but they then said I would have to pay for software support and they only support hardware, and to re-install the OS. Great, jeez, I couldn't have tried that myself, and that is so simple and takes no time at all (detecing sarcasm yet?)
I do a lot of work for large corporations that are watching the IBM=>Lenovo takeover very closely to see if they are going to drop Thinkpads altogether and go with another laptop vendor. This type of weak support does not bode well. The person I was on the phone with was rude, hard to understand, and even told me there was no place to escalate the call to.
There is no replacement for customer support. It is sad to see no Lenovo involvement in this forum, and don't make the mistake of thinking this is an isolated problem at this time. It is growing.
Though Thinkpads are great Laptops, Toshiba used to have the market, but their support or should I say lack of it led to their downfall and position of leadership loss.
It will be no different if Lenovo continues to act like a machine churner.

Problem with Client Security Password Manager won't let me open it?

Client Security Password Manager 8.30.0057.00
It allows me to save passwords.
It will not allow me to get into the program to check/edit/delete the password info.
Fingerprint software 3.3.2.43 is working correctly.
Also does not let it auto-fill.
Have tried un-installing and re-installing.
Please advise.

You could try the new password manager.

Or you could try to delete all the files,
Find Client Security Solution in user profile folder (Search hidden), and delete them all.
And restart system.
Before doing this, remember to export passwords

Client Security Password manager not working

Hi All,
Have a T500 (model 2081CTO) running Win 7 Prof, with fingerprint reader. Had installed and had working Enhanced Client Security, was web aspect of capturing / prompting userids and passwords just fine.
Needed to reset IE8 to default. That stopped Client Security Password web aspect.
Uninstalled then re-installed & setup Enhanced Client Security. Had backed up / reinput password list.
*** Web aspect of capturing / prompting userids and passwords is not working ***
Not being prompted to save a userid / password
A known userid / password is not being entered into what should be a known site.
Doesn't even seem as if enhanced client security is running - no icon in system tray. Yet Client Security Solution shows it enabled.
What / How do I get enhanced client security to again start, prompt to save userid/password and to reinput for a known site?
Obviously not keen to wipe machine and start again...
Am also really hissed that I cannot ring Lenovo Support and actually talk to someone about this!

open password manager in the set preferences make sure IE box is checked in IE 8 click on the tools option the lenovo password manager should be there & in the manage add ons make sure it is enabled

Lenova 3000 C100 (Reset the Pw for Client Security) Password Manager

Can any body help me to reset the pw for Lenova 3000 c100 's Client Security, I forgot the password as I did not use it for long time.

Hi,
in your situation I would check the box, that is in this window, that sais something like "My FPR is not working" so that you can type in the password.
This kind of situations might happen, if you changes some security configuratior, computer, or user name or similar.
Test this and let me know, how it work out.

Client security password manager has locked computer

Never setup password or forgot it . Now when log on. Client security screen pops up asking for password and locks computer. Can't close it or do anything on computer.

Client Security - Password Manager reinstalling

Hello all,
       For an unknown reason, I have been experiencing this problem over and over. Whenever I restart my computer and open a new explorer window, windows installer pops up with CSS trying to install the password manager. No matter how many times i let it install, it occurs every time. In addition, I keep receiving the 3 Chrome Registration Failed messages when starting firefox because the program continues to try and install the Think Vantage password manager, even when I try to cancle it. Appreciate any help.

I experienced the same issue with IE 7 on Vista Ultimate SP1 after installing the packages referred to in Microsoft KB950124 and KB950125.
The following procedure worked for me:
1.       Run IE7 as Administrator.
2.       After completion of the CSS-Password Manager installation, restart the PC.

How do I group entries to getter, so when I change password on one it knows it should update all in same group with the new password ?
I have tried to create a Folder and put the entries into the same Folder but that does not make any difference.

Fastest way is by contatcing support. This is because youc an't reset the questions on your end if you forgot the original answers.

Follow these steps:
All Products and Services > iTunes > iTunes Store > Account Management > iTunes Store account security
Answer the questions and if required sign in with your Apple ID and password - same one you used to log in on this support forum.
You will find an option to send an email to Apple on that page. Indicate that you forgot the answers to your security questions and wait for iTunes support to reply.

The only way to reliably protect data, especially on an external hard drive, is to encrypt it. Permissions don't have to be respected. One way to encrypt data is to create an encrypted sparse bundle disk image with Disk Utility. See:

Contact Apple through iTunes Store Support, and explain that you have forgotten your 3 security questions, that you can reset your password, but doing so doesn't reset your security questions.
Explain that after resetting your password, you are still asked for the answers you have forgotten, before you can gain access to My Apple ID > Manage your account > Password & security, which is where you need to be to change your answers.

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

Client Security Password

Hello to all. My name is Dave and I need a little help with a T60 Laptop. A friends son has a T60 laptop and recently purchased an Aircard for it. It has only been working for a few days and stopped working (the aircard). After trying the aircard on my laptop and it worked fine I was able to figure something was probably wrong with a setting in the registry of the T60. I made a set of recovery discs for the T60 and had a successful factory restore. Now everything works except on bootup I get a Client Security Setup Wizard and it gives me the following message. The embeded security chip is activated on this computer and is protected by a password or paraphase. Enter the password or paraphase associated with the embedded security chip. Now is there a standard password of phrase? If not is there a way to find out what it is? Thanks for any help. Dave

restoring to factory sittings won't put a password on the system have you tried to go to bios setup F1 at bootup you can disable css chip or x out of the ccs setup to see if it will boot to windows

How do you reset your security password?

I know what to do to reset the security password but I can't click on the "reset password...." button because apple wants me to verify to know its me. But i can't do that so i can't download music etc because i dont know my password. HELP!
