Hi,
I was using my computer, a black Macbook bought in summer 2006, and suddenly the "tab" button and the number "four" button stopped working. Don't think I pressed anything unusual, was just on safari, and all the other numbers work, and num lock is not on. help... plz?!

Hi, I ran software update and then restarted, that seemed to do the trick! I was in a a panic for a little while there tho, things have been going wrong pretty often with this computer so i was thinking it was done for... anyways, thanks for the quick reply and suggestions!!!

What makes the Print Screen and End Buttons stop working?

I am 3 weeks into the trial period. Twice before, the Print Screen (manual capture) and End buttons stopped working. The only way I found to correct this is to uninstall and reinstall the application. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

More information on this issue: When I start recording in any mode, one screen is captured. No other screens are captured during execution on program functions, menu selection, navigation, etc. Once again I removed and re-installed the application. This time it made no difference.

For no apparent reason, the on/off button and volume buttons stopped working. iPod touch 4th gen with 4.3.3 installed.

You can try a couple of things.
First a hard reboot: hold the sleep/wake and home button down until the unit shuts off and boots back up to the Apple screen.
Second restore the device py plugging it into iTunes and under the device summary screen click restore. You want to restore from backup to make sure all your info is synced back to the iPod at the end. Depending on how much stuff is on there this can take a while.
Thrid, take it to the Apple Store and have a Genius look at it. Depending you how bussy your local Apple store is you probably want to make a reservation first.

IPhone 4 home and lock button stopped working

I have an iPhone 4 and my home and lock button stopped working today randomly at the same time. I have had assistive touch set up for a while but that also won't work. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I only got it Febuary/March this year.

After I updated my ipod with the iOS 4.3, the volume and lock buttons stopped working.
This has happened before and it'sprobably one of the most annoying problems ever.
The lock button tends to stop working but then works again only when it wants to, but the volume buttons dont work at all.
When the locked button worked again I turned it off and turned it on again, but it didnt fix the problem.
I've pretty much tried everything that I've read and nothing seems to work.
So now, I don't know what to do.
Should I take it to a random apple store or to where I bought it from?
It seems that it's happening to almost everyone, so at least I'm not the only one and maybe someone can help me out

If you have restored in iTunes on a computer and the problem remains then it's a hardware fault and it needs to be repaired. When you update the iOS version on an iOS device it checks the hardware components, this is when it'll detect un-diagnosed hardware faults and the components will stop working... even if they were working previously

My profile only- Brightness and volume buttons stop working (+)

I am having intermittent problems with my profile in OS X. It's the latest update, which I can't check (More on that in a minute).
At random intervals of more than one week, my MBP's brightness and volume buttons stop responding. As soon as I notice that, I try to open system prefs. One bounce on the dock, then nothing. Console: one bounce, then nothing. Terminal: same thing.
This only applies to Apple software, and only some Apple software. "About this mac" doesn't work. Same applies to Safari, Disk Utility, App Store, Activity Monitor, Quicktime, etc. Chrome, Firefox, Pandora, Adium, et al function normally. For some reason, iPhoto and Garageband do start and run normally.
I just tried restarting Finder (shift + Apple menu, selected 'Force quit Finder' with Finder in the foreground). Now Finder won't start. Spotlight runs, but you can't use it to open anything that won't open via the dock or Finder.
My trackpad settings have changed as well- it no longer recognizes 'tap to select'.
I tried logging into my 'safe' troubleshooting account (untouched settings, nothing installed). Everything works fine under the safe account; the only trouble I could spot was that the cursor wouldn't change from an unmoving pinwheel. I could still click on things, open apps, etc.
I'm 99% sure that a simple restart will cure everything but I'd like to solve the problem. It's kind of a big deal when my primary machine gorps up for no reason.

Apparently, part of an old install of Little Snitch persisted when I upgraded machines. The above example repeats itself over and over in my console messages, hundreds of times.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I just did a clean uninstall using the latest Little Snitch installer- no more console messages about it.

The drive checks out OK, permissions check was unremarkable. Tons of drive space available.
Right now, all I can do is wait for the problem to happen again.
The 'stuck spinning cursor' problem that I ran into in my backup account went away after a reboot, as predicted.

Touch screen and power button stopped working.

The power button has stopped working a long time and I've been using it as well. Now was the touch screen that stopped working without any crash. He was in my front pocket and then stopped working and returned after a while. It happened again for 3 days and then stopped permanently. What should I do ???

2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

My Ipod recently wheel and center button stopped working. Help?

I was putting music on my ipod, I ejected it then when i went to unlock it it unlcoked but the center button and wheel will not work. Yes, I have restored again and agian. i have also let it completely die. I know the button is not broken because it will go to home im i hom edown the ceter button and the menu. Helpp pleaseeeeeeee !?

Iphone in Recovery Mode + Lock and Home Buttons Stopped Working

Hello
Following an update to IOS7 my wifes Iphone 5 restarted and entered recovery mode. I performed a restore in itunes however the device reset and re-entered recovery mode. I performed this serval times.
After downloading a program online which exited the recovery mode for me, i was able to restore my wifes iphone backup with all settings restored etc. So its more or less working.
However i still have the following new problems:
1. Home Buttons not responsive
2. Lock Button not responsive
3. Silent and Volume Buttons Okay.
4. After powering off via the accessbility menu, the recovery mode apears again.
Can anyone help me resolve this fault? The phone keeps entering recovery

The place I bought it off said it was coming from Australia but I tracked the parcel and it actually got shipped from Hong Kong...
Do the 920's come with manufacturers warranty at all? I don't know how to check if I have warranty haha

Upgraded from FF4 Beta 2 to Beta 10. They were working fine in Beta 2.

Okay before my ipod power and volume buttons werent working but i never dropped it, then one day i was in a app and my ipod froze so i held the home button down and the screen went a bright green color and isnt showing up in itunes

okay I just recently bought a ipod touch 4thG and im already having issues. recently the power and volume buttons stopped working after i syncd my ipod, i shrugged it off figuring it would come back i could live without it. but today I was on my ipod while it was charging and the screen just froze so i pressed and held the home button (being that's the only button that actually works) then the screen turned this bright yellowish lime green color and its not responding to ANYTHING! my computer isnt even reading it when i plug it up into itunes! so what should i do? can anyone help me? i feel like i just wasted $200...

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Clickwheel/Menu buttons stopped working + ASP/Warranty question

Today, my year old 2nd gen nano's clickwheel and menu button stopped working. The hold button works, Itunes sees the thing, disconnecting the headphones does what it supposed to do and everything appears to be in order, except for the buttons. Neither resetting, nor restoring the software did resolve the issue and I am left with a small, elegant, brushed aluminium finished brick with music in it.
Luckily, an Apple ASP isn't particulary far from where I live and I could and probably should bring it there. However, I am currently in a country that is not the one I bought the Ipod in and my purchase receipt and anything else that might have came with it is some 3000 km away.
Does anyone know if bringing just the player to an ASP (it does have a serial number) has any remote chance of getting a warranty repair? And, if not, is it worth it even bothering with the repair, in terms of cost?

Down and menu button stopped workin !

Hi i was using my phone the other day and all of a sudden the menu button and down button stopped working ! i dont have a clue whats going on ! i have a n80, ive tried reinstalled my firmware but there seems to be a problem with the nokia updater it keeps saying network connection lost but i used it last night and the program worked prefectly ! Anyone got any idea's for why these 2 buttons would all of a sudden stop working?

i also have a very weird prblm.. wen ever i slide up or down the fone... the whole screen either goes completely white.. or completely blank.. for 3 secs.. and comes bak to normal...
my selections keys, directions keys... stop working.. and after lots of retries they start...
now my red button has completely stopped...
i thot its s/w issue.. formattd mem card...and reinstalled firmware.. but both prblms still persist...
tat button prblms may be coz of rust or dust below the keys.. but donno wats causing the whole screen to go white / blank wen slided up or down... will take it to nokia care.. hope they figure out sth..
