Table Maintenance : display only in testing environment

Hi All,
I have a Z table , for which I have created a maintenenace dialog screen and finally assigned this to a transaction code.
The transaction code calls the maintenenace screen in a proper manner. My requirement is that in testing environment, the transaction code should only display the records. It should not allow to change or add new entries.
How can I achieve this ?

You can change the table maintenance attributes to be 'Standard Recording Routine' this will ask the user for a transport if the client is open for modifications, if the client is closed then it will allow display access only.
Or
You could control this via authorisations. Allocate your table an authorisation group and then only give users display access only to this authorisation group.

Table Maintanance Generator is used to create/change/delete table entries in a particular table.
In the production system, end-users will not be having access to transaction codes like SE11 and SE16. Developers will not be having access to many transaction codes including the above two.To view the contents of the database table, we will use SE16n in Production system. All these authorizations will be maintained by BASIS team, by creating access profiles.So in order to edit or create the contents of a database table, we should go for table maintenance generator. In real time, authorizations will be maintained in production system.
The second reason is, we can edit or create multiple entries at a time, using tablemaintenance generator.
Apart from that we have options like 'Enter conditions' in table maintenance screen SM30.

Table contents displayed only on the 1st page

I have a table in the context and layout....this table is containing 50 rows but only 15 rows are getting displayed on the 1st page..
2nd page is not getting dipslayed...
I am not using subforms but a internal table from context

Check the content type for your body page and also for the subform into which your table is there.
It should be of type "Flowed".

I have created ZTable and also created Table maintenace for that. I assign Tcode.
Requirement: When user Execute Tcode, only he can change or displays todays date records.
I check all events but my issue is not resolved. can i call variable through my Tcode?

Final Solution which I applied on my object: I craeted half recording through SHDB for Tcode SM30. And I use Enter condition and I passed DATE = SY-DATUM. Then Use Event 13(Exit editing (exit main function module)) write code IF back or Cancel or Exit Leave to screen 0.

RZ11 - Profile Parameter Maintenance DISPLAY only?

Hi
I need to change parameter 'rec/client' value to 'ALL' to activate Table logging in all clients.
However when I run RZ11 and enter the parameter name, there is only the option/pushbutton to DISPLAY the values.
Nowhere is there the option to change the values. They are fixed to 'OFF' and greyed out?
Please assist.

Hi,
In RZ11 you can only change value for parameters that have set checkbox DynamicallySwitchable (after displaying parameter choose from menu edit->change value), but this will work only tll next AS restart.
If you want to do it permanently you should set it in one of profiles in RZ10 as was mentioned above and restart all affected AS.

"This field name is not known" error, for one user only, in test environment only.

Crystal Report 11 being called from BOXIR2 Infoview.
The field name is included in two formulae in the report - no errors in Dev or Production, just in test.
Any ideas why this is occurring?

Hi Helen,
The best way to test this will be to open the report in question in Crystal Reports designer on the test BOE server.
In Crystal Reports, verify the report is using the desired connection then do a Database|Verify database. If the report errors then we know there is a difference in the table/fields it's reporting off of.

Maintenance view Vs Table maintenance

Hi,
I would like to know the dif between T.Maintanance And Maintenance view.
As we know as per the def we know Maintenance view will be used to maintain a table. But I have never created any M.view for the same.
However we use Table maintenance generator and SM30 for the same. How these 2 concepts are differnet?
Which one is the best method 2 use?
what one step and two setp process? Advantage and usage of 2step process?

These two are different concepts altogether but they have some connection.
1. Table Maintenance: To facilitate the Updation / Viewing the Records of a Table thru a Tcode We have to Generate the Table maintenance (program and screens) in Tcode SE54.
This will generate the Function Groups and Screens required to Maintain the Entries in table.
Then only we can maintain this Table in Tcode SM30.
2. Maintenance view: It is one type of View which can be used to update/view the data from multiple tables at a time.
But after creating a Maintenance view, We must generate the Table maintenance .
Only then we can maintain the entries using a Maintenance view.

Bex filters not displayed in Testing environment

Hi, experts,
We transported Query BEX Reports from Development to Testing environment.
When we run the BEX reports in Testing, the filters are not displayed.
Any ideas on how to solve this?

We have already transported all the components (BEX, Multipprovider, infoobjects, etc.)
We did a trace, and the missing authorization is S_USR_AGR, which is used for:
"User master maintenance: User groups. The authorization object is used in role administration when assigning users to roles and during the user master comparison. You can divide user administration between several administrators with this authorization object, by assigning only a certain user group to an administrator. You can use the activities to specify the administrator’s processing types for the group (such as creating, deleting, and archiving)."
But this has nothing to do with the bex reports, so we think it's another thing what we're missing.

Fieldname in not being displayed in the table maintenance

Hi Experts,
I have created a table maintenance for a custom table.The table contains 10 fields out of which first 3 are key fields.
on the 3rd key field i have supplied F4 help so as to populate the 4th field automatically based on the selection of 3rd field.
everything is working fine but last 6 'fieldname' is not being displayed on the column bar.instead of fieldname there is '+' sign on the column. And i have checked in layout(screen) also only first four fields being displayed.
plz help.

Hello Mukesh,
As you know, data element or pre-defined data type will be assigned as field type to the fields in a table. If you are assigning the data element, then the data element has the option to give the field label.
If you are assigning the data element and the field label is empty, then + sign will come. In other case - if you assigning the pre-defined data type also, the screeen column header will be shown as + sign.
In both the above cases, you can change the column header manually in the layout.

SE93. Enter a transaction name. Create. In the pop up enter a title and select 'Transaction with parameters'.
Next screen fill the following;
Transaction 'SM30'
Check 'Skip first screen'
In the table control at the bottom of the screen
Name of screen field 'VIEWNAME'
Value <your table name>
Name of screen field 'SHOW'
Value 'X'
Save.
Job done.

Table Maintenance - Add field not in table for display

I have a Z table which has five fields of which one of them is the GL account field. I need to display the description of the account from SKAT-TXT20 also in SM30 so that In SM30 when the user looks at the table, they should be able to see six fields. I can code the PBO / PAI to pull data from the table, but am not sure how to enhance the table control that SAP generates automatically when you generate table maintenance from SE11's Table Maintenance generator so that the sixth field can be displayed.

to update field based on other fields of the same table follow below path and create a routine.
go to se11 open the Z-table in change mode > utilities> table maintenece generator- and then
environment> modification> events....
then creat routine based on your requirement.

Restrict table maintenance for a Z Table in SM30 in Test systems

Hello,
I have 2 Z tables ZTAB1 & ZTAB2 which has table maintenance created. Both tables should be non modifiable in Test systems but should be able to make entries in DEV system.
This means any entry that needs to be present in PROD or TEST systems for these tables should be moved through transports from DEV only.
The Tables are defined as follows:
The Delivery Class in Both Tables is 'C' and both table. In the table maintenance screen, the authorization group for ZTAB1 is ZT1 & for ZTAB2 is ZT2. The Authorization object is S_TABU_DIS for Both tables.
ZTAB1 has 2 screens for maintenance and ZTAB2 has 1 screen for maintenance.
The recording routine is "Standard recording routine" for both tables.
The Problem is as follows:
In TEST system, In SM30 for table ZTAB2, when I click Maintain I get an error message "Client XXX status is 'not modifiable' " which is correct. That means we cannot modify the entries for this table in TEST system.
However for table ZTAB1, I am able to change the table entries through SM30.
Could anyone suggest how to restrict for making entries in table ZTAB1 in SM30.
I debugged SM30 for both tables & found that the SM30 program checks for an entry in OBJH table with the table name as OBJECTNAME and if the OBJCATEGORY in OBJH is equals 'CUST', it throws error message "Client XXX status is 'not modifiable' ".
For the problematic table ZTAB1, the OBJH entry has 'APPL' and that is why we dont get the error message and the table entries are editable in SM30.
(The transaction SOBJ can be used to changes OBJH entries. I haven't used this before. Not sure if I can use it to correct the problem.)
Can anybody tell me how this OBJH gets populated when we create a Z table?
Could anyone suggest how to restrict for making entries in table ZTAB1 in SM30.

APPL stands for the Delivery Class A (Application Table)
CUST stands for the Delivery Class C (Customizing Table) in table OBJH.
It seems, the delivery class for the ZTAB1 has been changed from A (Application) to C(Customization). Try to delete the Table maintenance and regenerate it again.

From se11's Delivery and Maintenance tab check out Data Browser/Table View Maint property. Make it without any restrictions.

When I want to displaying for V_T682 table from SM30 tr.code , it gives me about error " View/table V_T682 can only be displayed and maintained with restrictions". I think ,this table's maintenance status is marked as display/maintenance allowed with restrictions on SE11. So, how I can display the this table from sm30 tr.code.(Note: I have only displaying authorization)
