Table Maintenance - Field Names not appearing

Hi,
   I given table maintenace for 'Z' table.
   When i went to SM30 transcation, the fields which are taken as Built-in type instead of Data elements are not having caption( Field names ) . It is showing '+' in the place of Fieldname .
   What may be the reason. In table i given short description of the field . Even though it is not displaying.
Please suggest me.

Hi Pavan,
If you used the built-in types, then that is how it appears in SM30. It will not take the field short descriptions you entered in the table.
Only way to get around it is to go to the screen of the table maintenance and change the field lables there. Caution though, is that whenever you change the table maintenance, you need to do this screen change again.

How can I access same information using an ABP Program? I have a third party tool which connects to SAP; it can pull data from any SAP Table or view. I do not know which table or view stores information displayed in SE11.

The field names and their description are strored in table DD03L and DD03T.
SAP DDIC dictionary informations are generally store in DD* tables. You can search this kinds of DD* tables in SE11 using F4 search help.

Field name not known   in old existing report.

We have a report that we have used for a long time and has always been fine. Today when we open it it says data will be lost because "Field name not known".   So you click ok and look at the report in design and the report is missing a bunch of fields. You look at the Field Explorer and it only shows the first field in the table. This report links 2 tables. The linking field is the first field in both tables.
I try to re-map datasource and no luck.   I close Crystal, open Crystal and create a new report, look at the same tables and all of the fields are there. Create similar report looking at same datasource, same tables, some of the same fields, and it works fine.
What is wrong with the original report and why won't it connect or show fields?

It may be that the report file became corrupted. Do you have a back up of that report anywhere? If not you could create a new report using the same tables and links and then have both new and old reports open and copy objects from the old report to the new report. Save it and then verify it all works as it should and replace the old report with then new report. Copy the old report somewhere safe also.

Table maintenance generator is not saving entries.

Hi All,
I am facing problem in table maintenance generator.
I created a table maintenance for Z-Table.
In my table last 2 fields are a checkbox.
When we go to Sm30 and check/uncheck the boxes then save , message comes tht data saved , but when we come out and go back to maintenance generator , it's not saved.
while table maintenance in 2 step , then on detail screen it is working perfectly but on primary screen it's not.
when TM is single step , it's show entries saved but not saving in data.
I tried to delete and regenerate table maintenance but still not working .
Please guide me to ractify this.

Hello Friend,
Check with th etechnical settings of the ztable:
see if your buffereing is allowed, and log data chnages is checked.
If so :
Then select buffereing is not allowed and uncheck the Log Data Changes:
Also go to TMG:
Check if standard recording routine is selected, then select the no, or user recording routine.
After making these changes, delete the TMG and create a new one once again. You can check it will work fine now.

Tax classification fields are not appeared in master data

Dear Experts,
I searched the forum about my issue but i did not get any solution.
I am not able to see the tax classification fields in customer master and material master.Even i assigned Country IN to JLST and JCST condition types by T-code OVK1.
FYI
I have copied the org elements from standard (which are already given by default).Initially i was able to see 2 different countries with tax MWST in both customer master and material master.
EX:
AT MWST
DE MWST
But i do not wanted these. so i deleted these assignment from OVK1 and assigned country IN to JLST and JCST,and i went to customer master and material master but those fields are not appeared.
Note:Country of plant,company code and sales organizations is IN
Help me to view tax classification fields in Master data.

Then how system knows this customer is liable for JLST.
In customer master, under the Taxes tab, it would be like
Country::::Name:::::Tax Cat.::::Description::::Tax Classification
While creating customer master, if your configuration is in line with standard, then under the tab Tax category, you can see MWST flowing automatically. You just have to input tax classification as 1, 2 etc.,
Also since as you said above, you are maintaining the combination of country/plant region/customer region/customer tax classification/material tax classification, you can very well differentiate VAT & CST.
Wherever customer region comes as your plant region, assign VAT tax code and wherever, customer region differs from plant region, assign CST tax code in VK11.

Iam configuring Cross Company Scenario to my client for the version SAP 4.6C as they implemented a new company code and want to transport the material from one company code to another company code.
I made all the required customizations in the system
while creation a vendor code in the reciving plant in Pur.Org.Data screen->Extras--> Add.Pur.data i am unbale to view plant field where we maintail supplying plant
In OMSG at purchasing data at add purchasing data PLANT, vsr relevacne & plant relevance made optiional
but while creation of vedor code the other two VSR relevance and Plant relevance indicators are populating but the PLANT field is not appearing.
without this assignment while creating a STO, shipping data tab is not appearing
Please Provide me input in solving this error.

The field selection is controled at Vendor accounting group.
For Vendor account group (std 0001) , the field Plant in additional Pur data is supressed whereas for accounting group 0007 this field is activated.
Please rfer the following path to activate the field
SPRO--> Financial accounting --> Account receible and Payable --> vendor accounts --> Master data --> Prepataions for creating vendor master data --> Define account groups with screen layout
Select the Vendor account group and go to Purchase org data and change the Plant filed option.
Or create teh Vendor under accounting group Plant (0007 std)

Custom fields are not appearing in BP

Hi Friends,
My requirement is to add a new fields in Business partner(TCode:BP). For this I have created a new tab using Business data tool set by following every step. I have regenerated the screens also(using Tcode:BUSP). But after executing the transaction I am able to see the tab but not the fields. Fields are not appearing in the tab. What might be the reason?? Kindly clarify me.

Tax Code and Tax Amount Fields are not appearing

Hi to all,
While making Downpayment Request (F-47) Tax Code and Tax Amount Fields are not appearing in the screen.
for more clarity...
suppose PO is 1150 include all taxes ( Amount 1000+ Tax Amount 150)
as per agreement with vendor we need to raise DR for 1150 and based on DR we will make downpayment to vendor (F-48)
But in F-47 screen Tax Code and Tax Amount fields are not appearing.
Could any body help me on this??

why you are looking for tax code field, pay gross amount as per PO, same amount will update in PO history as well as Vendor account.
Even if you find the tax code field and check the tax code check box, system will not calculate tax at the time of down payment or down payment request.
Please remember that by default standard SAP provides the tax code field in f-47 or F-48.

In the F-02 T.Code we cannot find the profit centre for customer line item. We have to attach the profit centre for the other line item i.e income gl account. Due to document splitting system will derive the profit centre and we can see the profit centre for the both line items under General Ledger view.

Field Names Not Found in Item Table Properties

Please note that the following field names cannot be found in the Table Object properties but can be found in the database table for the Item table.
ItemType within Item Heading
ReorderQty within Inventory Data -
this is called Required Stock Level on Inventory scrn.
MinOrdrQty - Minimum Ordered Qty on Planning scrn.

The ItemType property is available for the Items Object. As far as the ReOrderQty ... this does not seem to be available as a property. If you must use these properties in your add-on, you could go to the Db directly as they are in the appropriate tables HOWEVER, this is not a recommended approach as data corruption could occur as well as SAP will not certify a solution that used direct table access to the Db. You could put in a request via SAP Support for these properties to be added in coming versions of the DI API.

Table Maintenance: Modified or not?

consider this situation: I appended a field to an existing customer DDIC table. There is an existing table maintenance. Before I just regenerate it to have the new field included i would like to check if there is any modification or extension of the maintenance dialogue.
What is the best way to find out?

Goto SM30 and give that table name. check whether ur new field reflects over there or not.
If not you need to regenerate table maintenance generater it seems.

Record set file names not appearing ?

Could anyone tell me why the file names for the record sets that I'm creating don't show up. The "lightning bolts" representing the data show up under the rs name and it appears within the code, but the file names are not next to the bolts as expected ?

Thanks for jumping in and trying to help. Sorry for my ignorance when
it comes to this as I am just diving into the world of data bases
using php and mysql. I believe I was referring to the created "table
set name" and the "fields" within them (see bottom) . In the bindings
panel the lightning bolts appear under the created table set, but the
name of the table set is not appearing and these highlighted file
names "fields" that should be next the lightning bolts to identify
them are not appearing. These names , and so on
appear in the code but not in the bindings panel next to the lightning
bolts to help me identify which one I am choosing .
The php page is working the way I want but I have to go through the
process of elimination to figure out which "field" e.g
I'm choosing when placing them in a table in my dreamweaver page. I
hope I am explaining myself properly and thank you very much again for
your efforts.

Fathers name not appearing in HR standard Reports

Dear All,
Currently we are in process of using the standard pension reports like Form4 P.S, Form5 P.S etc(Tcode : PC00_M40_EPN).
In the report output , we observe that the Father's name field is not getting populated.
On Analysing further, we understood that.
1.In the implementation stage, we had mapped the father subtype to '3' instead of the default '11'.
(Personal Management>Personal Administration>Personal data --> Family-> Define possible family members).
2.In all the standard pension reports ( tcode : PC00_M40_EPN , PC00_M40_PNY etc ),the select query in the ABAP programs hardcodes subtype '11' to fetch for father detail from infotype table PA0021(Family Member/Dependents).
3.We have a lot of data mainatined in the current production system with sybtype '3' mapped to father.Hence cannot change it at present.
Is there any way out to display the fathers name in the standard HR reports ?Possible alternatives..?

Dear John,
After considerable thought we decided not to change the config.We also have some custom developments which uses the father subtype.All these data would need to be deleted and corrected.
Hence we directly modified the relevant subroutine in the standard reports and changed the value from '11' to '3'.
The reports now work fine.

I created new view in the BP_HEAD component and view type is table view. In that view i created model context node and it is referring to BuilHeader bol object. these context node fields are not showing in the configuration tab. if i expand my context node folder in the configuartion , it is shoiwng empty. Hi Experts,
As i have to put radio buttons with 2 blocks in a report for Phys. Inventory. Please tel me the following fields:-
Block1. Table name and field ( flag field) that shows physical inventory completed & not completed. (so many indicator fields but i want exaact one) or any other way to no PI done or not.
