Hi Tina,
You can sort the table as already mentioned, or if you want it always kept in a key sequence you could define it as a sorted table something like this:
types:
begin of itabline,
field1 type c,
field2 type n,
field3 ....
end of itabline.
DATA itab TYPE sorted table of itabline WITH UNIQUE key field1.
You can then insert and read entries by the key fields.

ABAP - Saving data to a table after pressing 'TAB' on a specific field?

In ABAP programming for a custom SAP program, I was wondering if it is possible to trigger a SAVE action to occur when pressing the TAB key instead of the ENTER key.
For example, I have 3 input fields -- Material, Serial Number, and Quantity. I enter a Material, press TAB to get to the next field, enter a Serial Number, press TAB to get to the Quantity field, then I enter a Quantity and I must press ENTER in order for the input Material, Serial Number and Quantity to be written to the custom table.
What I need is to be able to press a "TAB" on the Quantity field instead of an "ENTER", and therefore override the normal TAB behavior only on that 'Quantity' field so that I get an "ENTER" behavior, and my record is saved. Is this possible in ABAP?
The reason I need that TAB to behave like and ENTER on the Quantity field is because we have barcode scanners with a keypad. These barcode scanners have a design flaw in that sending a specific command after keypad entry is extremely limited. For my company's specific requirements, the scanner will only allow the TAB command to be sent from the scanner after entering a Quantity. Since only a TAB can be sent, I need the TAB command to be able to write the record to the table, and return me to then next "Material" input field.

Ideally, I would like the TAB on the last Quantity field to be able to save the record and return back to the first Material input field. But instead, I will have to keep the TAB on the Quantity field, and then scan an extra code that sends a Control S, and that will save the record. It is not the most elegant solution, but it will work.

Xfa.resolvenode returns null on one field whereas returns a node on the event of the specific field

I have a requirement wherein I need to populate values in my Table row depending upon the value of another text field.
The problem is when I use this line of code var rsize = xfa.resolvenode("MyForm.SubForm1.Table1.Row1[*].UOM") in the change event of say Field1, it returns 0 on accessing rsize.length whereas the same line returns 5 which is the desired value on initialize event of Table1.Row1.UOM.
How to get this thing working? I need to use similar lines of code in 5 fields i.e. need to access and assign values to table rows dependimg upon change events in 5 different fields.
I am new to Adobe forms and stuck up with this since a long time. Let me know what is the ideal way to get this thing working. And where do I put my javascript code if the dependency to fill the row values is on some other field.

Thanks for your reply. And sorry for my typo.
I have used resolveNodes() in my code to get the length. But as I said the length is 0 when the code is written in change event of say Field1 and the same returns 5 which is the desired value when the code is writtenon any event of the UOM field.
What exactly I want to achieve is to set the rawValue of MyForm.SubForm1.Table1.Row1[*].UOM whenever we enter value in Field1 the hierarchy for which is MyForm.SubForm2.Field1.

Field status of a specific field in different FSGs

Hi experts
This refers to filed stutus of a specific field in PO item, how it is set (Mandatory/Optiona/Display) in different field status groups.
Is this can be read from any table. I would like to see which FSGs set with Optiona/Mandatory for the given field (ex: storage location)

Print just what is typed in the text field without printing the text fields

I'm trying to print a form after I filled in the text fields, but would like it to print just what I typed in the field, not the text field and the color in the text field. I use CS3.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hello Teddy and wellcome to the group!
If you want to change fonts or other things then you might need to use the PrePrint method. What I normally do is select PrePrint from the "Show" section in the Script Editor (If you do not have it go to the toolbar at the top, Windows, and select Script Editor). After you select PrePrint you can now either type the name of the subform and field you want to change (or you can put your cursor in the Scripting Dialog box, hold CTRL and then select the field with your mouse) and then type in the JS to change the font. it is something like TextField1.fillcolor = "255, 255, 255"; (that changes the background fill to white). You can also replace fillcolor with font or border to change the color of the font or the border. I put a link to an Adobe website that goes over JS color changes below. You just need to add a PrePrint method for each field that you wish to remove the necessary highlighting on. Then once the user either hits a Print button that you have on the form or uses CTRL+P to print the form it will remove any highlighting.
Now On the Text Field not printing itself that I am not sure what you are asking for. Are you asking for the caption not to print or for there not to be a box around the data that is entered? If you do not want to have a box surround the text field that is in the Object section of the field (see image below). You just need to select None if you just want the text. If you want to change that with JS I put another link below that has the code to change the border color to white and the user cannot see it. If you do not want the caption to print the only method is to delete the caption from the text field and replace it with static text that can be hidden, but I am assuming that is not what you are talking about (correct me if I am wrong though).

When duplicating a field, even when the original field is locked, the duplicated fields appear at different positions on pages that are the same size. How do I make them uniform?

I'm trying to put a hidden time stamp field on the bottom of all pages of a thousand page document, yet when I duplicate the field, the reproduced fields appear at different positions on different pages. Is there a way to make them all appear uniformly on each page. I've tried using the Lock function in the Properties menu before duplicating but to no avail. Please help.

I go to Tools>Forms> Edit...Do you want to detect...No. Add New Field>Text Field. I lay out my field at the bottom of the page, adjust the Properties (Hidden but printable, read only, font, alignment), Lock the Properties. Then I right-click and hit Duplicate.

I don't have my search field anymore, only the url field. I know I can seach in it, but I want my separate search field back. How do I do that?

Not sure when it happened and I am sure it is just a setting or something, but I can't find where I get the search field back. I see it when I open the customize the tool bar, but it disappears when I close it. I want to search from Google and the URL search bar does not give me that option, only Google Maps & places.
How do I get back that separate search field?

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

Field Length of the text field on the screen

I have field with its label on the screen. Now the label text is picked up from data dictionary as defined.
Data element       J_3ARQDA                       Active

Now the text in different laguage say russian is quite bigger in length as compared to english ones. Now on the sales order screen i have the text 'Dldat', but the russian user needs a bigger word than just 'Dldat'.
Approach : I changed the heading length to some '25' from '5' to accomedate the russian text in DDIC for data element. But if i have to adjust the same on the screen with new text length i have to extend the screen border as well.
Is this right approach ? If not how do we actually accomedate the other language texts on the screen with out altering the screen borders ( length and breadth).

I tried doing that with a couple of invoices but I dont see the Long text printed on the check after the automatic payment run. Can you please suggest me if I am missing on anything. I inserted a long text and a '*" before this to have it printed on the check which does not seem to work. Can you please suggest me alternative solution.

Need to compare two fields and populate the other fields.

Now I need to compare text1 and text2 and populate text_A, text_B and text_C as follows.
text_A = SHORT DUMP
text_B = PRE
text_C = Date :09.07.2007. Time :13:08:33.
Basically I need to fill text_A, text_A and text_A with the values in text1 which are replaced by '&'.
Can anyone suggest me a code snippet to do it?

Sorry for slow response - I'm in a different timezone I think... Well it's not a short algorithm, but you could try something like the following (there's probably a sweeter algorithm, but this is what occured to me overnight)... I realise that it's not foolproof as you could have words substituted in for the "&" that also appear in the original message text and that would skew the results...

I want name of the table where I can get the two fields Valid-From and Valid-To and their relation ship with the header table in BOM

You can only get the Valid from date from the table STKO.
To get the valid to date, you have to take one day less than the valid-from date of the next record for the same BOM.
Alternatively use the Function module:
CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ
It will give both valid from and valid to dates in the tables parameter: T_STKO

How to capture the field name on a form when it's double-clicked?

Hello,
I plan to create a two field Help table that uses the thirty or so unique field names on the user form in field one. The second field is a Memo type field that contains the Help information for each field.
Once I know the field name clicked, I will probably use a query to retrieve the help information. I'm planning to use the Double-Click event so the users can double-click any field on the form to be presented the specific field related information
from the Help table.
How can I capture the name of the field that was double-clicked, so I can proceed with this project? Thank you.

Output Technical Field Names in the SAP query Output

Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP Query/ABAP Query or Quick Viewer. Just would like to know if there is a way whereby I can print the technical field names as opposed to the English field headers. For example I want to print BUKRS in the place of CoCode.
I have a vague feeling this could be possible through custom coding in SQ02 but have no idea which code section to choose.Any inputs greatly appreciated.

Open your infoset in SQ02, by default in the left hand side you'll be having the tables that you have selected, double click the field name which you want change the long text, it will open a attributes window below your field group. Change the header data text as you wish.

How to get my Name in the From Field instead of email address?

For an Exchange Activesync account, how do you get your friendly "Name" to show in the From: field rather than email address ([email protected])?
I seem to be able to do this fro IMAP/POP accounts but not Exchange Activesync.
All the discussions I've found about gmail and Activesync seem to be centered on getting your messages to show a different return email address than your exchange account. I'm not looking for this, just to show the Name.

If you add a contact ("Contacts app>> "+">> enter info) with that email address, it will appear in mail with whatever name you set in the email address' contact.
