Table relationship between Profit Center and G/L account.

Hi,
I have an issue related to wrong profit centers. We have a workflow that updating the profit center to a G/L account regarding the business of Reverse Logistic. In that business, we shift from a G/L account to another G/L account.
Now I have to find the tables relationship between Profit center and G/L account, which contains the correct relationship between a profit center and a G/L account, so that I can profit centers related to the moved G/L account and the original G/L account.

Profit Centre: Organizational unit in Accounting that reflects a management-oriented
structure of the organization for the purpose of internal control.
Work Centre: An organizational unit that defines where and when an operation should

Table relationship between hierarchy level and merchandise category

1) Want to find Merchadise Category from Merchandise Hierarchy level which is attached with same Merchandise category.
I am having data/TABLE as below.
my input: M_WWG1C_class
i want to fetch data matkl in T023 or matkl in MARA for the same article within same merchandise category.
How i can have link?
2) i am having input CAWN_atwrt(Characteristic Value) and how i can reach matkl in T023 or matkl in MARA for the same article within same merchandise category.

Oracle does not support REPEATABLE READ transaction isolation level. It only supports SERIALIZABLE, READ COMMITED and READ ONLY isolation levels.
The default is READ COMMITED.
While the READ COMMITED can access all the committed data till the point of execution in transaction, READ SERIALIZABLE can access committed data till the point of start of transaction.
Another difference between two with respect to ROW LEVEL LOCKING is
Both read committed and serializable transactions use row-level locking, and both will wait if they try to change a row updated by an uncommitted concurrent transaction. The second transaction that tries to update a given row waits for the other transaction to commit or roll back and release its lock. If that other transaction rolls back, the waiting transaction, regardless of its isolation mode, can proceed to change the previously locked row as if the other transaction had not existed.
However, if the other blocking transaction commits and releases its locks, a read committed transaction proceeds with its intended update. A serializable transaction, however, fails with the error "Cannot serialize access", because the other transaction has committed a change that was made since the serializable transaction began.

Relation Between Profit Center & Group

I know the profit center in which my recs are there.
But I need to know to which profit center group this particular profit center is assigned to it.
Pl share your thoughts.

Refer the SETCLS table to get the class name for PRofit center group.Here, use the description 'Profit center Group' to get the SETCLASS field.
Now use the table SETLEAF to get the relationship between Profit center and Profit center groups.
SETNAME field is for Profit centet group and
VALFROM and VALTO fields to get the Profit center range
SETHEADERT table contains the list of Profit center group names.
BAPI_PROFITCENTERGRP_GETLIST to get Profitcenter group list.
BAPI_PROFITCENTERGRP_GETDETAILS to get PRofit center based on group name

Profit center and Distrbution Rule

Is there any difference between profit center and distribution rule, or they are the same thing?

This question belongs to main forum. These two concepts are different. Distribution Rule is only a rule to distribute costs or revenues. You may find the online help as follows:
A profit center is a company unit or division that performs a specific business function.
For costs and revenues that can be assigned directly to a profit center, you define a direct distribution rule. When you create a profit center, SAP Business One automatically defines a distribution rule with the same name and code as the profit center. This distribution rule cannot be changed. The default values of the rule are: direct debit, and factor 100 for a total value of 100.
When it is not possible to determine the profit center to which to assign the costs and revenues, you can define an indirect distribution rule.
If it is not practical or possible to distribute indirect costs as soon as they are incurred, you can assign the costs to a "zero profit center" and then distribute them by running reports and evaluations at regular intervals.

Hi Lilan,
Profit Centre's Data element is PRCTR. You can just press Where used button by going into SE11 and see in what scenario you need this field.
Because PRCTR field is maintained for Sales Order, Production Order tables and many other tables.
You need to look into ur requirement that what scenrio u are working in.

How to create the relationship between ESSBASE 11 and DM in OBIEE11

Hi Experts,
I have one requirement that there is one property table named 'Store Master' in DW,and it contains a lot of attribute, such as Open Date, Close Date, IS 24 Hour etc.
But another data source is essbase and based on this source, I create all reports.
In ESSBASE, it has one dimension and hierarchy Location, and it has four level, Country(L1),Region (L2),Province(L3),Store(L4)
So I want to know how to create the relationship between Location (ESSBASE) and Store Master (DM).
I try to create one relationship in physical layer between Gen4,Location and Store, then drag the open date and close date into Location Dimension in BMM,then Presentation Layer.
When I drag column 'Open Date' ,'Gen4,Location ' and 'Sales' into reports, it will generate the following error message:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 43119] Query Failed: [nQSError: 14020] None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request Dim Region.Store Open Date. (HY000)
However, when I remove the column 'Open Date'. it will be ok.
So what I missing the steps? Please help me. Thanks.

I am not sure if you are talking about the length(as in varchar(128)) of the member value being different in different sources, or the member itself is different in both the sources.
I am still assuming, that you are referring to the members not same in both the sources.If it is, the whole concept of federation is based on conforming dimensions. So, it needs that the same dimension information is present in both the sources and then only, you know we can analyze the numbers based on this dimension. So, either the dimension being different in both sources, or the members not present in both the dimensions might lead to incorrect numbers.
So I select Store Attributes in relation DB and Location in ESSBASE in physical layer, then create the physical join, such as right("Hour Sales"."H_Sales".""."H_Sales"."Gen6,Location",4) = "Authorization".""."EDW"."T_EDW_MDM_STORE"."US_CODE", then drag the OPEN_DATE and CLOSE_DATE in relation DB to Location in ESSBASE in BMM,finially drag them into presentation layer.We create physical layer relationships, to send over the same relation to the underlying database during querying. So, creating a physical relationship between essbase cube and relation database would not help here.
When you set up this federation, BI Server sends individual queries to each source and maps the conforming dimension members internally.

Thanks for the help but in my case I found some sets of series of OBD4 from
the table stated as follows
GLPCA - Line item PCA
GLPCT - Totals Table PCA
GLT0 - Line items totals
BKPF - Header data GL Account (nothing relevant to profit center)
BSEG - Line Item data GL.
but facing difficulties for some series which could not be found in the above table.

Functionality of Profit Center and Cost Center

Hi,
I am unable to understand the functionality of Profit center and cost center, I know that cost center represents area within an organization for which you will like to see the expenses for a particular time period. for example in an organisation we have three cos centers Accounts, HR and Admin. whenever you post an accounting document in FI you will specify the cost center to which the expense relates. but in some cases when you post an expense and give the relative cost center the profit center is also driven by the system. why is this behavior? i mean i have posted an expense not an income then why is system driving the profit center as well?
Profit centers are used if you want to see the profit of different area of your organisation. in what kind of postings we use profit center? and if we could use profit center to draw income and loss for a specific area why do we need segment reporting? and what is the difference between Segment and Business area. what i understood from their definition is that they are both same and use for same purpose.
I am totally lost in these concepts. please some one help me out with an example. i am stuck at this point. some one please clarify my concept of Profit Center, Cost Center, Segments and business area please.

Cost center & Profit Center are organizational units within the enterprise structure , created for better internal control.
As the name suggests Cost Center is the lowest level of the organizational unit representing a defined location of cost incurrence or otherwise to which you can meaningfully assign the cost(both direct & Indirect).
Profit Center is an organizational unit in accounting ,where management would require to see the profitability & fix the responsibility. It may be each plant/division of the company .
If you consider the Plant is the Profit center, you can take the various deptts in the Plant as cost centers. you can draw a balance sheet & profit & loss account statement at profit center level but this will be for your internal use.From this you can know the ROI on particular area. Profit centers are assigned inside the cost center so when you update cost center, profit centers are updated automatically.
Where as Segments are used for legal reporting of your accounting standard as per IFRS. Both Business Area & Segments are more or less same with some technical difference.
Business area is a free organizational unit. It can be derived through cost center or can be entered manually.
But segment is a dependent organizational unit. It is defined & attached inside the profit center master data. It can’t be entered manually.
SAP suggest to use the Segment concept.

Historical profit center and current profit center

One of my senior developer said me out of two cubes, one is storing historical truth about profit center and other is storing current truth. How can I tell he difference. How do you make a cube to store historical and other to store current profit center.

Your statements imply that the major difference between the two cubes is that one has history or trail of Profit Center changes and the other has current data. Now, if you want to analyze current data, you could report off the cube with current data. But then, if you want to include some data in the cube with history in this analysis, it then one would require more information about the cubes to make any suggestion.
