Tables in Pages working properly.

Hello Apple Support Community. I need your help.
About the document: I've created the document in Pages 09 using Word Processing layout, and added a table with table headers and footers, used the Wrap inspector and ensured my table is set to "Inline".
I have two issues:
1. Issue: A table in my document does not extend on to a second page, instead the entire table moves to its own page. Desired Result: The table headers continue on to page two, and I can keep adding rows to my table where it uses the table footer to calculate the total at the end of my table.
2. Issue: The table "object placement" is set to inline, however I can not get the curser to move below the table, instead the table responds as if it's floating and I have to keep hitting enter to get the curser to move below the table. Desired Result:  I want my curser to move below the table without adding extra 'returns'
Hope you can help me resolve this. Thank you.

I really wish you would not have taken this offline and never come back. This is the exact issue I am having. My table is set to "inline" but all the text that should be below the table comes up and overprints on the table. If I set it to "floating" the text move down because of the text wrap on the table, but it makes editing the text a real pain in the butt.
If you could follow up here for the rest of us that are finding this thread as a top search on Google, it would be much appreciated.
What is the resolution?
Mike
The table when it is inline has all the attributes of text. In your case you need to change your line spacing and it would seem add a return after the table with maybe some space before.

  • ADF Faces EA15: table update not working properly after dialog return event

    Hi,
    in my application I have a table with read-only records and an edit button for each row.
    The button triggers a dialog where one field of of the record can be edited.
    The record is a bean which is put into processScope.
    After accepting the change in the dialog the bean makes an update in the database changing the order of the records in the table on the launching page.
    The return event triggers a re-rendering of the launching page (which I can see from the output of a phase listener) and the table model gets updated but the table output is not updated visually.
    However, if I call the dialog on another record I don't get the record I see in the table but instead I get the record which I'd expected if the table re-rendered properly.
    Do I have to trigger any kind of event on the table now so that the framework knows that a change has taken place and that the table has to be re-rendered? There is no difference whether I use PPR or not. It used to work in EA14.
    Thanks,
    Achim

    In EA14, the return from the dialog required a full-page refresh (whether the dialog was launched with PPR or not didn't matter). In EA15, it's done with PPR if possible. This avoids the flash (and re-scrolling, etc.), but means you do need to tell us what's going to get changed because of the return. You can use partialTriggers on the table with the "id" of the button to make this happen.

  • DB Toolbox List tables - does not work properly

    Hello All
    I have two databases: one "c:\a\aa.mdb" contains some tables inside
    second "c:\a\bb.mdb" contains no table.
    When I run the list tables command from DB toolbox SEPARATELLY the tables are listed in proper way, i.e. one has tables, second does not.
    But when I build a vi which returns the table list, and call it twice the result is wrong. Both database seems to have all tables, even though the second does not contain any tables.
    I attachment you will find the packed example.
    Two databases with udl files (change if unpacked to different directory than c:\a\).
    The vi "two vi tables.vi" shows the problem. It calls "find tables.vi" to return the tables in database.
    You can see th
    at when DB List tables is called in the main vi it works fine. But when it is called two times inside the loop it returns false results.
    Can anybody comment on this.
    For those who are afraid of unpacking zip files I enclose pictures.
    thank you in advance

    Pawel,
    I apologize for the delayed response to your first question. I am currently working on the problem in order to determine a more permanent solution. These forums are a very important resource for not only helping our customers but also for improving our products!
    With regards to your other question I believe the problem is one of data flow programming. Each table creation will take a certain amount of time to complete depending on the size and nature of the rows and columns being inserted. Unless you programmatically control the data flow, the DB Tools Execute Query.vi does not necessarily know when each table has been created. Since control is handed off to the database program, the DB Tools Create Table vi is forced to wait
    until the database program returns control.
    To programmatically control the flow of data you would need to use either a case structure with a while loop (suggested) or a sequence structure. These structures are critical in cases where execution of a previous section of code must be completed before subsequent code portions are to execute. I have attached an exaple that may prove useful.
    The wait method is actually a good way to time data flow but in this case may not be the best solution if you want your table creations to be dynamic over time (you may be forced to change the wait for larger table creations, for instance). If you know that your table creations will never change then using a wait method may be an acceptable solution.
    I hope this information helps out some. If not please post back with some sample code or more detail on your issue. Good Luck!

  • Numbers tables no longer work properly.

    Creat new record all alpha time date fields become standard number entry.  This used to work fin but not now. Please fix.

    After the latest update, I did have some issues with formatting. My date cells turned into Automatic format. I am nearly positive, the format "Automatic" did not exist on the iPad version before the last update.
    I don't use Forms much, so I didn't see your issue, but I suspect that is probably your issue. You used to have the cells formatted as Text, Date, Time, and Number and now they are formatted as Automatic, so the Form doesn't know what keyboard you want to show.
    I think you should check the format of the cells in the table. Select a cell and then tap on the little paint brush in the upper right corner. Then in the Format area, you'll probably see a checkmark next to Automatic.
    I would select the whole column that is suppose to be Text and set it to Text in the paint brush menu. And repeat for each column Date, Time and Number.
    Then go to your Form and see if it has returned to the pre-update behavior. If not, maybe you can post your file somewhere or send it to me (email address is in my profile) and I'll see if I get the same behavior you are seeing.

  • Filter on the same logical table source on two logical tables is not working properly

    Hi,
    In the RPD, assume that I have a physical table named Employee_fact, created an Alias called D0 Employee Fact
    In the BMM I've two logical tables called Employee_fact_Type1 and Employee_fact_Type2
    Each of these logical tables has the same Logical table source - D0 Employee
    But in each logical table source, I've a filter in where clause
    such as, for Employee_fact_Type1  employee_type = 'XXX'
                 for Employee_fact_Type2 employee_type='YYY'
    These two facts are present in the same BMM and each of them are connected to two dimensions
    such as
    Dept_type1 <- Employee_fact_type_1 -> Tenure_type1
    Dept_type2 <- Employee_fact_type_2 -> Tenure_type2
    In analysis, When I query the columns from Dept_type1 and Tenure_type1, the database query generated shows the condition employee_type='YYY' instead of employee_type='XXX' .
    But, adding the columns from Dept_Type1, Employee_fact_type_1, Tenure_type1 it shows proper filter.
    I checked the relationships, presentation layer for the sources of presentation tables and everything looks good.
    Can anybody tell me what goes wrong here?

    did you set the content level as well?

  • Incompatibility for custom Report is not working properly

    Hi Gurus,
    Need your help to diagnose the issue here.
    The problem here is as under

    but the problen here is the next run starts ( 2sec, 5 secs or 10 secs) prior to the actual completion of the last run.
    the data is as

    Hi Srini,
    We have raised a SR with oracle for this it seems to be a bug in 12.1.1 release I will update the same once I got any fix or patch from oracle.
    from the intial investigation it seems to be that the imcompatibility wit itself feature is not working as expected.
    Also this is the latest case

    hope this give the better understanding for the scenario here.

  • "Link to One of  My Pages" not working properly in iWeb '08

    This week I encountered a new problem doing something I've done successfully many times in the past.
    *_Here is the basic info:_*
    I created a site that had a main page and then four subsequent pages (5 in total). I created a text box (seen bellow) that listed each page.
    I then used the "Link to One of My Pages" option to link each word to the corresponding page.
    I then cut and past the text box on each page so that the links would be present on each page.
    Then in iWeb I checked all the links on each page to make certain they navigated properly to the correct page. Everything checked out fine all the links worked properly.
    Next I saved and exported to a folder to check the site before going live.
    *_Now here's my problem_*
    I launched safari and opened the site locally — I then discovered that only the first 2 of 5 links worked — the remaining three did not register as links.
    I launched FireFox same problem. went back to safari emptied the cache, did not help.
    Finally, I went back to iWeb and repeated the process several times. I've rechecked, and recreated the links and exported to a folded multiple times with no change — still only the first 2 of 5 links work.
    Has anyone encountered the same problem? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or remedies
    Thanks you

    Well I discovered the the solution to my own post above — For those keeping a score card I'll just chalk this one up to operator error and not to iWeb troubles.
    The basic problem was that only two of five hyperlinks in a text box worked when my site was published.(please refer to my original post above for more details)
    *_here is the fix:_*
    I was working with the layout view hidden.
    When i turned "show layout" on, I discovered that the lower margin and footer were bisecting the text box containing the hyperlinks. (seen bellow) As a result, while visable when published, the top two links worked fine and the bottom three links didn't.
    When I adjusted the lower margin and footer to fit the text box and published the site everything worked properly.
    So I guess the lesson learned is to check the layout — Even though I had content that was outside of the page parameters it was still visible on the published site just not functional.
    I share this in the hope that my time and effort spent figuring this out might help someone else avoid the same frustration.

  • DM - "Export from Fact Table" works but "Export" does not work properly

    Hi,
    I'm using BPC7M.
    I found it strange that Export cannot dump data to a flat file though I'm pretty sure my selection of dimension members contain data. The existing of data was further confirmed by running Export from Fact Table successfully, where I chose the same set of dimension members. Below are the log files.
    Export log file  FAIL

    I tried Export in another application and it worked properly. Maybe there is something wrong with the application but I don't know how I can fix this.
    Thanks!
    Sunny

    Hi Sorin,
    In order to make sure the sum is not equal to 0, I ran the "Clear" package and full optimize the application. Afterwards, I deliberately sent only 1 record. I ran the "Export from Fact Table" and I have the following contents in my output flat file.
    B_ACCOUNT,TIME,WED_ENTITY,DATASRC,CATEGORY,SIGNEDDATA
    KPI0001,2009.INP,DEP_INPUT,INPUT,ACTUAL,-500.0000000
    This confirms that the sum is not 0. Then, I ran "Export" package. Yet again, I encountered the same error.
    There is no data in the selected region; select a region that has data._2_True
    Best Regards,
    Sunny

  • Help! My Mouse pad is not working properly. The arrow cannot be controlled, it just keeps jumping all over the page. How can I stop this?

    Help! My Mouse pad is not working properly. The arrow cannot be controlled, it just keeps jumping all over the page. How can I stop this?

    There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
    3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    5. Reset the System Management Controller.
    6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • Table date filter not working properly

    Hi OTN,
    I have noticed that table date filter not always working properly.
    When I copy actual value from column outputText to column filter and hit Enter - I see an empty table.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/818/filter.png/
    I suspect the problem to lie among date formats.
    But I tried to delete convertDateTime from outputText or add it under filter inputDate. Nothing helped.
    <af:column sortProperty="Hisdate" sortable="true"
                                     headerText="#{bindings.InformationView1.hints.Hisdate.label}"
                                     id="c8" visible="false" filterable="true"
                                     width="83">
                            <af:outputText value="#{row.Hisdate}" id="ot5">
                              <af:convertDateTime pattern="#{bindings.InformationView1.hints.Hisdate.format}"/> // or without both lines
                            </af:outputText>
                            <f:facet name="filter">
                              <af:inputDate id="id15"
                                            value="#{vs.filterCriteria.Hisdate}"
                                            columns="8">
                                <af:convertDateTime pattern="#{bindings.InformationView1.hints.Hisdate.format}"/> // or without both lines
                              </af:inputDate>
                            </f:facet>
                          </af:column>Nothing special about the attribute. A database table field of type DATE. In database this (see picture) row has exactly "06.06.2006".
    Could you please point me out where to start seeking?
    Thanks.
    JDev 11.1.1.4

    Well, OK. I think I'd better have 2 attributes: truncated date for filter and full date with time for edit.
    What is an attribute type for datetime?
    select trunc(t.HISDATE) AS HISDATE -- date attribute type
        ,to_char(t.HISDATE, 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') AS HISDATETIME -- timestamp/date attribute type?Something like this?
