Taking my iMac from  USA to India - Power Cord

I am taking my iMac from USA to India. Can anybody tell me if my computer supports the Indian power voltage Do I just buy a new power cord that plugs into the Indian Power sockets or will I need to use an Voltage Converter.
As far as I know US has Electricity at 110V/60Hz, India has it at 230V/50Hz.

The warranty is not and has never been International.  Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin.  The only exception is for devices sold in the EU where the EU is treated as one country for warranty and support purposes.

You cannot. To open an account on a different iTunes country you must have a valid credit card issued from a bank in that country. You must have a billing address in that country, as well.
There are reasons why some apps are not available in all iTunes stores.

  • Can i use my  iphone of at&t which is bought from usa in india?

can i use my  iphone of at&t which is bought from usa in india?

Nope. All AT&T iPhones are locked to AT&T & there is no way to get them officially unlocked, as AT&T will not unlock an iPhone for anyone for any reason. You could only use it in India while roaming with AT&T-cost a small fortune.

  • HT1212 my iphone is disabled, not able go to the home screen. it happend after i travelled from USA to INDIA

my iphone has been disable . It happend during my trip  from USA to INDIA. not able to go to home screen. Tried to connect to itunes but it says need to enter password first on iphone which i am not able to do as it is disabled. Need help.

    Try a reset:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
If this doesn't work, restore it from a backup through iTunes.

  • Moving iMac from USA to Europe

Im totally clueless about this. Ive read most Computers are built so they can work in multiple ccountries. so if i move my iMAC from the US i can get away with just buying a plug adaptor and not needing a voltage controller? will Apple sell me a power cord for my iMAC G5 for use in Europe?
    thanks!

    Fred,
Keep in mind that besides the voltage, the frequency is also different in Europe -- 50Hz there, 60Hz here in the States. My iMac is newer than yours, but it has the electrical info printed on the back of the display -- check yours to see if it is there too. I believe it's required by international law to have this info visible on all electrical appliances.
I am not sure how computers differ from other appliances in this regard, but I do know that electrical alarm clocks, for example, use the electrical current's frequency to keep the time. My European alarm clock did work in the U.S. on a voltage converter, but the time was WAY off -- like ten minutes every hour. It would stink if that happened with your mac. Please check this too.
That said, if it turns out to be simply a matter of converting the voltage, then I don't think you need a step-down converter with such high wattage (750W). Since converters get more expensive (and bigger) as the wattage goes up, you would be well-advised to not go too much higher than what you actually need. According to the Apple site, the new iMacs have a maximum continuous power of 180W. Getting a 200W converter would be cutting it a little close, but 300W should be more than plenty. Just don't plug your toaster in there too... (Tip: anything that generates serious heat, like coffee makers and toasters, requires a high wattage converter.)
However, if you have peripheral devices (external hard drive or whatever) that you also want to plug in to your power strip, you may need to go higher. And do get the converter before you go; you'll have much more choice at much better prices here. I used www.voltageconverters.com and was happy with their service.
    Hope this helps.

  • Odd noise output from Zen Micro when power cord is connec

I just recently purchased a Zen Micro. I've experienced an odd noise (I can only discribe it as interference) whenever the power cord is plugged into the wall, and into the Zen Micro. The sound is intermittent, and usually only happens if the cord is disturbed (wiggled) while plugged in. The sound cuts out the music. Another problem I've noticed is that the Micro doesn't charge well on the power cord (though charging through the USB port works fine). Has anyone experienced anything similar?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Coach!
I can't view that particular one (work blocks ebay), but have seen others that are probably similar:

The thing is, my Blackberry charger?seems to have the same specs, my Zen knows it is plugged in, but the battery does not charge (whether I'm using it or not).

  • Iphone 3 from usa to india no service message, please help!

    Hello apple community.
I recently got an unlocked iphone 3 from my sister in the USA.  I brought it to India thinking that inserting a local SIM it would work.  Alas this is not the case. After searching extensively online through blogs, etc.  I found some advice and  tried backing it up with itunes, turning the phone on and off, and trying again but the message I"m getting is 'no service'.  I'm using an AIRTEL SIM which works on a friends phone.
Do I need and AIRCEL SIM to be compatible with a MAC?
Do I need to complete any other process?
    Can anyone help?
    THANKS in advance!

More than likely, the phone was hacked to unlock it instead of being legitimately unlocked.

  • How to wake my Imac from sleep with just power button?

Not possible unless you unhook the keyboard/mouse.

  • I am buying an iMac from USA. I live in the UK.

    Hi,
I live in the UK and wish to buy an iMac in the USA because it is cheaper.
Are there any problems of doing this?
Will a plug converter cause any problems to the device?
    Thanks.

As far as I know, the warranty would be valid. but the other points about shipping costs, personal carriage, VAT on imports (which has to include shipping costs) are significant.   Even to save a couple of hundred pounds, personally, I don't think it is worth the additional aggro.

  • Unlocked Iphone 4 s from USA to INDIA

I bought an Unlocked GSM Iphone 4s from Apple store US and planning to send it to India.

Might want to think twice about this plan...any problems...guess what? The phone will have to be sent back to you for ALL warranty & support issues...that is if you're still in the US...otherwise, someone will have to fly back. You won't receive any warranty or support for a US iPhone in India...none. And no, you can't send it back to Apple...Apple doesn't accept International shipments.

  • My touchpad (mouse) stops working when I connect it to the power cord?

It works fine when It's not connected to the power cord... but as soon as I connect it and I try to use my touch pad it just goes erractic and like I can't click anything and it's just unusable.  What can I do to fix this (aside from buying a new power cord....)
    My computer is updated completely.
    It is a Macbook.

Try troubleshooting the adapter >  Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters

  • Won't boot up unless I unplug power cord first

After shutting down my iMac, if I leave the power cord plugged in like overnight, I cannot boot up. It sounds like the computer is already on because I can hear the fans whirring and hear a click, but I do not get the ping and the screen stays black. But if I shut down the computer and say within 5 minutes try booting up again, there is no problem. I took it into the Apple Store once and they kept it for a week but they said they could not recreate the problem. Is there a problem with unplugging the computer after shut down every time. I am still under warranty until December 2010.

Hi, 2 ideas:- (1) go the SMC & PRAM reset route. (2) Take it to your local Apple Approved Service Agent..

All you will need is a USA adapter for your MBP power adapter since it will work in  electrical environments from 100v. to 220V.  It seems that a type B will be needed.
