"Tap Continue and sign in to purchase a gift"?!?
hi all, since yesterday i keep seeing an occasional pop-up message on my iphone telling me to "tap continue and sign in to purchase a gift". Very confusing, as I haven't done anything to initiate any sort of gift transaction. i've tried searching for that exact piece of text but there are no results to be found anywhere.
any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. Although, the problem is not really to get rid of the message (as you can dismiss it quite easily) but to understand why it appears there in the first place. Is it a malware? is it a bug?

I did. Half the people who posted had this issue in 2011, and the other half (including me) posted in the last couple of months. So it might be a recurring thing.
I have no idea when 2000 users googled "Tap Continue and sign in to purchase a gift" and viewed this post. Could have been 2 years ago or in the last couple of months.

Im trying to update my apps and it wont let me. When i clicked on an app to update it or to download a free app it says "sign in required, tap continue and sign in to view your billing information" when i did it says "you must verify your payment info before you can makes purchases" then "security code is invalid" when the security code is valid. I even switched credit card it keeps saying the same thing....... THIS IS NOT FAIR........ I WANNA UPDATE MY APPS!!!!! Why not simply remove yoru payment info by selecting None at top?

Considering Adobe dont (sic) even make Flash Player for iPads, this seems about right. How can you download something that does not exist? -

Hi All,
I have implemented Auto Renewable App purchasases in my application, everything is working fine.
We are testing the app throughly and for each and every condition possible(network down,hundreads of sandbox users etc).
While testing the things many times we are stopping the transaction in beteween but after some time we were restoring the same transaction and it works after that.So far so good.
Now on many ipads we are getting the message popup saying "sign in required Tap Continue and sign in to check for downloads".
I dont know what this means because i have already purchased the product in sandbox and evrything works great but many times this poup is irritating us so please lt us know the solution for same.
Please let me know how to get rid of this error asap.Because of this error only Our QA's are not releasing the app.

It does not say WHAT app is requesting my Apple password. BAD DESIGN APPLE, if this is you.
If I click Cancel, nothing seems to be wrong. iCloud still works fine.Huh?
I still don't know that this "sign in required" is for, it does not say. In spite of the curious post by gdgmacguy, I still need to know.

Not an urgent question, however I would like some help.
EA Games ran a great promotion over the holidays that offered free iphone/ipod and ipad games. I won a few but have not been able to access the games due a weird bug. Everytime I attempt to redeem the code on my iphone in the app store or via Itunes app a pop-up appears "before you can make purchases, you must tap Continue to sign in, then verify your payment info." I'd happily click the continue button if there was one. But there isn't. I click on for the pop-up to move on and I'm back at the screen that asks me to redeem. Which I do and the pop-up returns. I'm fully logged in my payment method works for other app purchases or updates but not these EA codes. Is there any error message you get when trying to sign in and provide the billing information?
Also try to:
1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on Apple ID and Sign out
2. Restart the device
3. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Sign in again -
why is it whenever I sign in and put in my code it asks me three times for my password and then says: "Error press continue and sign in to redeem code." I really need help because I have three fifteen dollar cards that I want to put on! I had four but then for some reason the first one worked after a long time of trying but the other ones didn't. I have the latest version and all my stuff is updated.

Sounds like the credit card you have on file is probably invalid/expired. You'd need to correct that or set the payment method to None.

On trying to access the ITunes store or ITunes in general, I keep getting a pop-up window stating "sign-in required, click continue and sign in to check for downloads". Itunes then doesn't recognise the sign in attempt and the pop-up appears again. Has anyone seen this and have any thoughts or advice?

I just recently got an iPod touch 5 and it won't let me download apps. It says they are free but when I install it , it keeps popping up saying before purchasing I must tap continue to verify my purchase something like that. Idk what to do. !!!!!
Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

I just downloaded I tunes on my new computer, I've had an apple I'd since the iPod mini came out, I signed in and went to download purchases from my iPhone. It downloads apps fine but when I click on a song it says "your computer is not authorized" ***??
Authorize the coumputer. Go to store in the top of the screen and authorize it.

I bought the my life as a book on the I book store and it is not in my library and when I went to go buy it again it said you have already bought it and to down load it go to purchased and tap download and there is no where to tap download so Ihow do I get it in my library and how do I download it
Try going into store then entring apple ID along the bottom...there's a tap for hidden downloads, slide finger across to unhidden then it should come bak into your library. Hope it works it did for me .
