Tbird will not send. unnown error. works in safe mode. turned off firewall and still does not work. works fine on desktop but not laptop

Thanks for the reply. here is the behavior for all steps:
1. use oper. system safe mode: it works, I can send email
2. no oper. sys. safe mode, t'bird safe mode: cannot send mail
3. no oper. sys safe mode, no t'bird safe mode, all addons disabled: cannot send mail.
It only works when i use oper. sys. safe mode.
Addons for t'bird were enabled in this test.
(Not using T'bird safe mode either in this test.)
Use BitDefender antivirus, which does not have a setting to turn on/off email scanning. Should I contact BD support? (it seems to point to BD as causing the problem. Interesting that I don't have this problem on 2 other desktops, only the laptop. And in the past, T'bird worked on the laptop. I have tried uninstall and reinstall, but mozilla is SAVING all my account and other info, so I cannot do a clean install. it seems to me that if I could do a clean install, it might work. Any idea how to remove all the data and uninstall?

I've twice tried to use iTunes match. It stalls in step 2. I've rebooted my iMac computer and it still stalls. Apple's taken the $25 but not delivered the service. Can I get some personal help? There are 12,733 songs, a few dozen of which are not going to be in the Apple music library because they are unique to my collection. Also, some titled "Track XX" and no artist. I assume these would either not upload or else just be uploaded. But, after an overnight of step 2, the iTunes match program was still on song number 7384 or 12733 (it was on that number for over 12 hours). Looking in the music library, activating the iCloud icon and status fields, there were hundreds of songs with the status "waiting."

Well it could still be a software problem if you installed a third party program after the OS X wipe and install, because by booting into Safe Mode it disables certain functions of OS X and hardware. Check for updates or problems for all your third party software, include everything, including menulets, System Preference panes, hacks and so forth.
If you restored any sort of software from backup like TimeMachine, it likely was corrupted data and now is returned.
If the college tech support found a lot of dust clogging the rear exhaust vents behind the fans, then likely the heat damage done to the machine has already occured and can't be reversed. Video cards are usually first to go, which Safe Mode does disable the video card somewhat.
Run through this list of fixes, it's systematic in nature, also has a Hardware Test to see what's going on

Fixed header working fine for desktop but not for windows phone
I have my website in asp.net with master page. I have used below css for header div of my website to make it fixed.

Frequently I have the aarp game site open and Yahoo open. At times Mozilla crashes and will not send an error message, simply brings up the restore screen. When asked to restore it never restores if Yahoo is up, Firefox just closes. At other times Yahoo may not be up but if I have two other sites up it may just dump my internet connection. Again, no opportunity to send error message. I really like a lot of the features with Firefox but the crashing is driving me crazy. I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

I'm having problems installing iTunes on a Win 7 machine. The app will not launch correctly. It was working at one time, but now I have no idea why it would not work. I tried uninstalling some applications and still nothing. I did have to delete the Quicktime folders because it did not show up as being installed. Should I reinstall it since it doesnot look like iTunes reinstalled it?

You need something with 2x PCI Express 6 pin connectors.
If you have enough 4 pin connectors left over after hooking up the rest of your computer this might still work though, if you use some adapters. They require two 4 pin connectors to power one 6 pin. I recommend looking inside your computer and figuring out which connectors you will need.

I upgraded to OS X10.9.4 and now my Cannon MX 860 scanner will not work. The printer works. I downloaded the new driver and still no luck. Please help!
Open Print & Scan preferences. Select the printer in the sidebar list and click on the Delete [-] button. CTRL- or RIGHT-click in the sidebar area and select Reset Print System from the context menu. Re-Add the printer by clicking on the Add [+] button, select your printer from the little browser that opens, select the proper driver if it isn't set automatically, then click on the Add button. See if it now works.
Oh, be sure you install the new driver you downloaded.
BTW, you don't have a PowerMac as shown in your profile. PowerMacs were tower machines that ran PPC processors, not Intel processors. You really should correct that information in your profile. -
