Tecra S1 blank laptop screen, but monitor plugged in works fine.

Hi All,
I have a problem with my S1 in that if I boot it up, nothing appears on the screen, no promt no loading screen nothing. However if I plug a monitor in it the display appears on the monitor (laptop screen will still be blank) if I press FN & F5 nothing happens.
I hadnt made any changes, just hadnt used it for a while, last time i used it was on a big screen.
Can anyone help, its driving me mad?

Hi,
I would recommend you to contact a servicepartner from toshiba, since the problem of your machine maybe just a loose cable is.
I had a friend with the same problem and they refitted the displaycable, after refitting everything was OK.

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

My wifes Ipod Nano has blank white screen but still works

As the topic says, the nano has a blank white screen but still plays songs and works with iTunes. i have tried reseting it via holding menu and select for 10 seconds without success also i have tried holding select and play/pause after reseting (hard reset i guess) without any success.
I have tried restoring factory defaluts and loading different versions of iPod update without success.

My charger just stopped working. The cord has no visible damage and the plug box works fine with other phone cords. I've had my phone for less than four months now. Will Apple provide a new charger if theirs is faulty? I have not dropped it in water or anything. It was a normal day and I had 20% battery and I tried to charge my phone and it wouldn't charge. The charging pug box works fine with other phone USB cords so I know its something to do with the charging cord.

I had the same problem- go to Utilities, General, Use Side Switch To, and change it from Mute to Lock Rotation- this solved the problem for me.

- Wait if it is an Apple problem

This happened to me too. This problem started suddenly with no changes made on my part. I had 11.2 Flash version with Firefox 13. I tried updating to the new Firefox, same problem, then updated to Flash 11.3. I even uninstalled RealPlayer.
I read a solution on another forum and it was as easy as clearing my cache. Everything works fine now (even after reinstalling RealPlayer and allowing the download button function).

Let me know the steps to resolve the issue!

Check System Preferences > Network > active connection > Proxies tab. Are there proxy servers enabled? If you aren't behind a proxy server (which you probably aren't), uncheck those boxes. (Firefox bypasses the OS's proxy settings, so it's not affected by those settings.)
