Tell us all your creative process, if you will...
Anyone want to divulge how, in a creative sense, you get the most out of your dealings with Logic Express/Pro? In other words, what inspires/drives you when you sit down to an empty template? Any advice or suggestions for anyone who may have songwriter's block?
Grab a couple funk or jazz breaks from cd/vinyl or my sample library. Throw them in Recycle, chop it up. Load em up in the exs lay down a simple beat and add some "filler". Bump the bpm to about 172.
Throw a midi track or 16 to the emu sampler. Tweak some heavy bass line and maybe a lead or two. Throw a few more midi tracks to the Micron and layer.
Ill usually replace some of the drum sounds shortly afterwards and try to get them nice and loud. I like the overdrive logic plug on the kick and snare.
I may even throw in an apple loop or two underneath the main drum tracks.
Sometimes I midi sync a PC with fruityloops for some extra drums and blips and beeps.
About then my ears are about to fall off and I take a break. A little later I hit play and realize that the song I started is annoying and I save and start again. if Im not terribly disatisfied with the results Ill fine tune the leads and bass, add sound fx, quantize, and maybe crack open a brew.

What you are seeing is normal and there is no way to change it.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Confusing license - an Adobe trap into 'pay forever' or lose access to all your Lightroom edits?
I've read the FAQs and I don't see my question about permanent licensing there. So I am asking here.
I did see this misleading FAQ from Adobe though:
"Will I lose any photos if I discontinue my Creative Cloud membership? No. Lightroom doesn't change the location of your photos. They remain in whatever location you chose when you downloaded them to your computer or imported them into Lightroom."
What weasely rubbish! There is nothing stated here of course, that you will lose access to ALL YOUR LR5 EDITS if you don't pay for Ca$h cOW forever.
As I understand it, LR 5.2 will copy and convert my LR4 catalog that I can use forever, to a new catalog copy in which I won't be able to edit my photos on an ongoing basis unless I pay Adobe every month, forever.
Have I got that right?
Also, if I understand it correctly, I could now pay the upgrade price of $80 and get a permanently licensed upgrade to LR5. Is that correct?
Will the LR5 permanent license upgrade be available to me next August if I decide not to continue my $20/month Ca$h cOW?
Or is this an attempt by Adobe to lock us all into paying them forever?
BrettLet's be realistic here. For $20 a month you get Lightroom and Photoshop, future versions included. Right? (and if you had a previous PS license you'd get it for $10, but apparently you didn't qualify for that).
Take a look at your monthly bills. What do you pay for your cell phone? I bet it's four times that (it is for me). These days you pay by the month for everything. I'm surprised it took software companies this long to catch up.
And this is, after all, professional-grade software. Ever try an AutoCAD subscription? That you would really notice on your bank statements. -

Is it true that in SOA Suite 10.1.3 you have to manually restart all running BPEL process if you restart the SOA Suite? And that this was working in 10.1.2?
If it is true, how do people handle that? We might have thousands of processes waiting in Waiting state on the server so this sounds like a nightmare. :-)

If you're upgrading through the App Store, no, it will not. However, always best to run a backup before doing any major upgrade.

I am unable to update my IPhone 4 to the IOS 6. I managed to back up and transfer and then when it asked to update I said yes and the sync process started, left it overnight and it came up with an error if continue you will loose all your data. So stopped! Help!
Are you currently on ios 4? If so that's where the backup comes in. You'll need to restore your backup once the software is updated.

Your download page for 5.0 stated: All of the App Tabs you have set when you close Firefox will open as App Tabs when you start Firefox again.
I liked the convenience of using App Tabs and was disappointed to find that the ones I had set up yesterday were gone today. Am I doing something wrong?Works fine for me, I can simulate your problem by improperly closing Firefox.
The correct way would be to close the windows you don't want and then to exit Firefox through the File ("'''Alt+F'''") menu then use '''Exit''' or '''Qui'''t depending on your system.
But '''I can simulate your problem''' by closing the good window with "X" in the upper right-corner first (the one with the app-tabs) and then close the other window by any means.
You restart Firefox and open a window, since you closed without app-tabs there are none so you just see a window with your home page.
Firefox has some things added to Firefox 4 and therefore in Firefox 5.

Our Verizon account has 10 lines and I figure we're paying over $7,000 a year, when I think of how much money total we have payed to Verizon only to be jerked around and around and lied too over and over again really does make me sick. 6 of these contracts have ended and 3 will be up in next couple months and 1 has a year left so the cancelation fees would not be that bad. And with the other big carrier I've heard it might be cheaper on monthly service. All I wanted from Verizon was for them to do whats right.

all on the same order. I finished at 3:19 am est and got a date of 10/14 even though all the phones except the 6+ 16 gb gray had 9/19. Got confirmation email at 4:56 will ship by 10/14 I got worried that all the phones would not ship till 10/14 and contacted verizon thru facebook messenger. They told me my phones would ship in the order received and not be held up by a phone that wasn't available in my order. And based on the time of my order she said 9/19 for the 6 and 6+ silver, 10/7 for the 6+ 64 gray , 10/14 for 6+ 16 gray. On Monday morning my status changed to 9/19:):) in the afternoon in changed to unknown. I called 611 and rep went thru all my phones with a time sheet she had and said i should get all but the 6+ 16 gray on 9/19, she said that one you had to order by 3:00 to get on 9/19. On Wednesday my status changed to 10/14 , called 611 again and this lady told me all my phones had 10/14 listed after them. She told me she didn't know what to tell me that Apple ships the phones and its out of Verizon's hands because they don't have the phones. then she told me to call Apple (and gave me the phone # ) and see if they ship preorders with more than 1 in a order when their available or wait till all are. I called them ( they laughed that Verizon had me call them) and they don't hold up orders . Called customer service back and guy said at least 10 times ....I ASSURE YOU VERIZON WILL NOT HOLD YOUR PHONES!!! i said of course they're not actually putting them in a box and waiting for all, they're sending them to other people who ordered after me. I asked him if my order could be separated/ rebuilt and do a (jump the line request) so i could get my phones when i should. He said there is no such thing at verizon....he has worked there many years and if there was he would know. Someone posted # to Internet orders so i called them Thursday morning, spoke to a very nice guy he said my phones that i should get i would and i should get an e-mail later that day and if i didnt get anything by 8:00 pm to call back. Before we hung up i asked if I didn't get anything did he know if they could cancel/separate/rebuild and do jump the line, he said they can do that and put me on hold while he spoke with a supervisor, he came back and said if nothing happened that day they would do that with my order. I got nothing, called Internet orders back at 8:30pm... went thru my history and asked them to do the rebuild. She transferred me to supervisor who REFUSED to rebuild my order, that is only for orders that have a technical error. She was also the first person from Verizon to tell me that they DO NOT ship orders in multiple shipments, they will only send when everything is available. She then said your order was given a delivery date of before 10/14 and that's when you'll get all your phones. I let her know that there is nothing about that confirmation that tells me that the phones that I ordered that had 9/19 deliver by dates would not be delivered then, 9/19 is before 10/14.Same thing happened to me!!! They made a shady business move and they should be ashamed. Placed a pre-order for an Phone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus at 2 AM on the 12th and got my pre-order in line just like everyone else did that morning. The 6 said delivery by 9/19 and the Plus was already back ordered to 10/7 but that's fine, I expected the Plus to be harder to get anyway. Being that both phones were eligible it made sense to just place one order given this hasn't been an issue in the past. However, Verizon moved my iPhone 6 pre-order delivery to coincide with the back ordered Plus so they don't have to ship each phone separately!!! I have to wait for something on backorder while the other is ready so they can save on shipping cost. I expected the one that I pre-ordered IN TIME FOR A 9/19 delivery and waited my turn "in (on)line" like everyone else I should get that when it told me that in the checkout, THEN send the Plus when it becomes available. I even have the confirmation email that says "Deliver by 9/19"!!! Every company you order from sends you the backorder item when it becomes in stock, they don't wait and hold the entire order for it. WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!

Hope this will help someone as there is clearly not much help from Apple nor this forum.
I am on vacation away from my home computer where my iTunes is. I turned on my iPod and scrolled down to Music and it showed "No Music." Went to "About" and saw that there were only 9GB of free space, so I felt for sure it was there because that's right at what I had when I last synced it, which was a couple days ago and it finished syncing with no problems. Went to the next "About" screen where you can see how much Audio, Video etc. etc. you have and it showed 0 Audio and The "Other" category had all the data in it. What happened to my music, and can I get it back on vacation without my iTunes on my computer at home? I tried the holding down of the Select middle button and the Menu button until the Apple logo appeared but that did not restore any Audio. Hope someone can help me out here.....Thanks

Solved my issue and thought I might do someone a favor by posting the answer. If you wind up with NO MUSIC and find all your audio files have been synced into the OTHER folder on your iPod such as what happened to me, AND if you happen to be unlucky enough not to have access to your computer where your iTunes program would allow you to re-sync your iPod, here's what worked for me in a Windows7 OS.
1.You will have to find a computer that has enough storage to hold the amount of information stored on your iPod. In my case, 139GB!!! Download iTunes if it is not already on the system, or if it is, update to the latest software.
2. Plug your iPod into one of the USB ports.
3. Open iTunes if it does not open itself.
4. Select your iPod from the menu on the left and you should get a message that iTunes cannot read the iPod. Simply close that box. If you get a message that syncing your iPod will erase all content then decline the sync.
5. Open Computer and you should see your iPod as an external hard drive.
6. Open it and you will see some folders and a few files. The folders will likely look like they are a washed-out yellow instead of a deep yellow like you're accustomed to seeing. That threw me initially because as I was looking for the folder with @ 139GB, it was not there. Right click each folder, go to Properties and check the "Show hidden files" in the View menu. After that, the folders will appear dark yellow and as you hover over each one, you will see one that will have the full amount of data that was on your iPod before the mess started. Open that folder and you will see a bunch of other folders with strange names, like F00, F01 etc. etc. Do the Edit, Select All, right click and in Properties, View menu, check the Show Hidden Files again. All the folders that were that light yellow color will now turn deep yellow. Be sure to select show hidden files not only for the folder but all sub folders and files box that will come up....forgot to mention that earlier. Now all your folders and the files in them will be readable by iTunes.
7. The folders will all still be selected. If not, select them and then do either a copy/paste into iTunes Music Library or drag them over into that pane. The process will begin and likely take quite a while. In my case, several hours. When it is done, you will see all your music in iTunes along with the album art if you had any.
8. Now you will need to sync your iPod to that library, but before you do, you will need to Restore it. Simply select it from the left menu and click on the Restore iPod option. That will only take a few minutes and it will wipe your iPod clean. Before you do that, it is a good idea to MAKE SURE YOUR MUSIC IS ALL THERE!!! I also went to about a half dozen of the albums and tried playing a few songs just to be double sure. Proceed with the Restore, and when it is complete change the iPod name that will be in the small box on the same page as the Restore option and likely be something like"karens iPod" (whoever the computer belongs to will be the name there) to exactly what your iPod is called on your iTunes on your computer that it was originally synced to. I found that before I did this, it would not sync.
9. When you hit Sync, be patient because it took a minute or so before it actually began to sync. Then, it will be another few hours if you have as much music as I did for the sync to complete and depending on the speed of the computer you're using.
That's how I got all my music back and I am now a happy camper/listener again.,
I called Apple support and they were absolutely no help. Just told me I would have to re-sync to my iTunes even though I kept telling them that was 1,650 miles away at my house and not going to be possible. I even asked if the above process would work and they said they didn't know but "You could try it....." :-( At that time, I didn't have access to a computer with enough hard disc space on it yet so I called the Apple store in Louisville, KY which was 65 miles from where I was hoping that they might be able to help. After 2 calls and getting hung up in the same loop of menus that left me on hold for over 20 minutes long distance, I gave up and concluded that Apple and Support are two mutually exclusive terms and have no relationship to one another. This has been quite a nightmare, and if anything good has come of it aside from having my music back, it might be the learning process but I really feel that is a rather small reward for the time spent!
Not likely to be an Apple fan when considering my next purchase of home computer, laptop, nor the phone I am preparing to buy.

Helpful AnswerI never throw anything away up to a point when it has become silly and then I have a cull. (This applies to the loft, the garage and the hard disk)
I always have (at least) two backups to external drives and by the end of a project also have a full backup to DVD.
I am a hobby photographer, so this isn't necessarily a good professional workflow!
I store work in progress within a folder structure that identifies just what it is, final folder being date stamped for the start date (eg D:\My Pictures\Photgraph Album Master\Family\Bob\20100715 Farnborough airshow)
Photographs of value are then kept within the folder with a date stamp and version number if they change within a day (eg 20100823 Alexander in cockpit 2).
Photographs I haven't touched remain with their camera-specified name.
Lightroom, which I use, doesn't know about external drives or DVD backups. (Maybe it should, but it would become confusing)

I get this pop up when trying to create a photo book through the iPhoto store.
"Some or all of the photos you selected were downloaded from your published albums. You can only view these photos. To use them in an album or a slideshow or project, you must import them to your photo library."
The photos I have selected have already been imported so how and why do I do it all over again?
What do they mean by published albums? I categorize them into photo albums for organizational purposes after I import them from my camera or phone. So why can't I put them into a book now?
I have over 400 photos selected for a photo book for my child's graduation gift so how can I tell which photos I have to do this to?
Please help. Any insight wouyld be appreciated.
Confused and frustrated...Give this a try: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

I appreciate the generic list of hardware/software/browser problems, but that's a lot to go through for what seems to be a simple problem. Not all of the info listed in your link applies to my problem, so I will provide only the info that is relevent.

3. My hardware works with CC because I previously had a Cloud account for one year and all the software downloaded and worked perfectly.
4. My system is Windows 7, 64bit with 12GB of Ram Memory. I have plenty of space on my 1TB C drive
5. I am able to download CC software, but now when I open up an application (Premiere Pro, to be precise) it says it cannot verify my account.
6. It appears that the issue isn't my hardware or operating system, but a problem with my online Adobe account which is paid for and listed (as you can see in the screenshot).

There is nothing to cancel. It simply runs out. If you want your Adobe ID deleted, you have to contact support by web chat.
