Hello, colleagues!
I would like to set default template for printing.
Admin guide says:
4. Configure the Flash print and export templates:
a. Select the Default Template from the drop-down list to the left.
Additional Flash print templates can be implemented using the add-on manager.
page 41 (pdf:51)
There is option browsing for files in add-on manager, file with template for print named: add-on-template.zip, after trying to load this file manager says:
floder name must begin with the prefix 'add-on'
I can't add my own template, so I can't choose my own template as default in Print/Export Preferences.

Hi Alex,
Do you mean that they are not available to select or that the settings from your template are not being read?
I browsed t hrough some project notes from a recent project and I noticed a bug where the templates were not being imported correctly. You need to check your template before import and then do the same afterwards - this will tell you if the issue is occuring.
If it is then raise an OSS message.

No, iTunes printing is quite simple and only works off it's own templates. If you want to customise templates you'd be better advised to look at on of the specialised cover printing programs that are available. DiskLabel is one that springs to mind.

Dynamically set template for Print Quote report

We need to customize "Print Quote" in Quoting
As part of this we will be having 2 custom templates (will be related to data definition "Quote Printing", ASOPRT).
These two templates have to be defaulted based on the quote status - one for status "Approved", and the other template for other non "Approved" statuses.
How can this be achieved dynamically? (OAF CO customization / personilization)
There doesn't seem to be any setup for assigning different templates based on status.
Profile option "ASO: Default Layout Template" can be utilized to change the default template, but we need this template to be defaulted dynamically based on the Quote status.

Which Web Templates for printing and broadcasting

Hello,
we are running NW2004S SP10 with the Portal. We are using the web template 0AnalysisPattern and within this Web Template is a button called Send (for Broadcasting) and another called Print Version (for generating a PDF-Document which can be saved and or printed). This all works from a technical point of view good.
My question is now how I can change the layout of the PDF-File of the broadcasting PDF and also for the Print Version PDF? I do not know which Web Templates has to be changed. Could anybody please help me and give me this two Web Template names. Normally it should be possible to change within this templates the layout of the generated PDF-File, or am I wrong? I am very confused at the moment and need urgent help.

The big answer is one you wont like, I suspect, which is that it takes TIME to get to understand the way 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN works, and then to progress to understand how to change it. That process took me several weeks, I started by documenting how the different parts work, I can let you have this document if you like, that will save you about a week.
Moving on from that, specifically you need to understand how to access the EXPORT command from the Exel and PDF buttons, then you can see the Web TEmplate that is used to control the output. You know, I could tell you in detail (and if you search SDN you will find more detailed answers to your question) but there really is no short cut to understanding how it all works.

Iphoto templates for printing

what happened to those templates that offered layouts of a few photos at one, like for instance a 5x7 and some walllets?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can print multiples of one photo but not sure you can have the various sizes you want on one sheet. There's a 3rd party application, Portraits and Prints, that's supposed to have those kind of templates. TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Mask or template for prints

I will be taking photos of about 400 couples for Valentines dinner flights, and will be printing the photos right there. Do you know of a way to superimpose a repeatable mask or template over the photos that says basically " Valentines dinner flight - 2015" or some such or every photo we print? Preferably with some free software, but one where we won't have to type it out each time - similar to what photographers do with their copyright or whatever.
Appreciate any ideas or advice.

Provide "standard" size-based templates for printing

When I print a group of photos from MS Explorer, it gives me the option, very simply, of several page formats in terms of 4x5's, 5x6's, 8x10's, wallets, etc. and the page is optimized to print those. Can you setup some templates to match what Explorer does? I'm not a professional photographer, I don't print contact sheets, but I do want to easily print photos that I will cut-down from LR.

How to change the default print template for broadcast PDF Export

Hi,
I have currently designed a print template for printing purposes and use this as the template for the print button(Export to PDF),if i were to click on this button the output pdf is the desired PDF. But if i were to broadcast the template with output format as PDF it picks the layout of the current template, how do i set broadcast to pick up the print template also???
Further how to insert a page break in a PDF print template.

4. Template for displaying broadcasting wizard.
When we use broadcasting from query designer to email PDF's the system uses 0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCAST_PDF.
From WAD the system uses the current template layout as PDF Layout.

Display text area for printing

Hi,
I know here are many threads about displaying a textarea as read-only. but no solution fits my requirements.
I have a page with many fields among other things 3 textareas. This textareas a normally display as autoheight. for printing this page I have created a new one, where all items are read-only, because of the nasty brackets, if page is displayed in printer-friendly mode.
If my textareas hve more lines then declared for height, they are displayed with a scrollbar. That's not acceptable for me , because I must have printed all the text, not only the one in the scrollable area. In printer-friendly mode, the textarea is automatically set to a height, so that the text is completly shown.
When I print this page, the textareas are set to a width of 17 lines (declared in height: 4 lines), equal if there is 1 line entered or 20. But I like to have shown / printed all entered lines, so if 1 line is entered I like to see / have printed a textarea with 1 line (max 3) and if 20 lines are entered I like to see / have printed a textarea with 20 lines (max 22). How can I do this???

There might be a way to get this functionallity through the css and template for 'Printer Friendly'.
However, what I'd do is write a PL/SQL routine to create a HTML page and get all the formatting done the way you like there. I have mine pop up in a new window with the menu bar, so the print option is available if the user wants.
Through PL/SQL you're dealing just with the column data, not also having to deal with the various elements to display the data, such as a textarea. I simply create HTML tables to hold the data, and place the data in the various <td> elements of the table. The table then controls the layout, and multi-line fields get automatically wrapped.

Dynamic table height for Printed PO Report

I have created a RTF template for Printed Purchase Order report using Microsoft Word. The template has Header and Line information. I have two questions.
1) Lines are printed in Table format. I also print header level notes in Line Section.
If the header notes are blank, I want the line information (line #, Item Number, Description, quantity etc) to be moved to line1. How do I acheive this?
I want to dynamically adjust the Table height based on the information printing in the line section. The table has two rows. One for Header notes and one for Line information.
2) Header notes field is placed in Description column of Line Table (MS word). Currently Header notes are printing within the Description column as wrapped text. I want to print Header notes in one line. How do I expand this field to print in one line?

Even I faced the same problem, however I have found a workaround to come out of this problem.
My PO design template has 16 lines, I am counting the number of lines with data and subtracting the same from 16 and inserting that many empty rows to increase the table height.
I am pasting the code so that it will be useful for others.
Paste this code before LINES_ROW for-each loop. This will give the number of lines present.

How to make a fill in template for use with ipad

If I have a custom made excel spreadsheet, that I use for fill in information, what app do i need to open, fill in and save the template for printing and sharing

As an update for the actual table, the scenario is a bit different from this example: there is a form filled in with information. Some is correct, some incorrect. I am trying to simulate a supervisor reviewing the form and finding and fixing the incorrect information. And yes, it has to be accessible.
I used two methods. First, I split up the table into individual quiz questions using T/F and Fill-In-The-Blank. The T/F asks the learner if all of the information for the day is correct. Then they use Fill-In-The-Blank to correct wrong answers. It worked, kinda, but the graded quizzes in Cp6 do not indicate specifically what was right and wrong (just the correct or incorrect feedback text boxes appear), so it is not as useful to the learner.
I am now working another tactic: The table is imported as an image. I plan to hand-type the contents into the Accessibility tab. Since the info is only meant to be read horizontally (by day), I am hoping that that works. Each data cell is overlayed with a transparent smartshape, named, and has its own variable. On clicking, the variable increments by 1. That is how the learner can indicate which cells contain wrong information.
There are advanced actions for each cell to indicate whether they clicked correctly or not. Now my issue is that I have one "Submit" button and want to launch 10 advanced actions at one time. Is there any way to trigger that?

Template for CD jewelcase?

I'm trying out Pages 08 and liking it, but I need to find a template for printing CD jewelcases. Anyone know of any out there?

When you say original iWork disk, do you mean '06? If so, I can't find templates on it. Do I need to re-install iWork '06 to get them?
As for '08, I downloaded the trial so I don't have a disk for that, and there's no CD template that I can find in the templates included with that.

Edit print layout template for dunning letters

Hi,
Our customer want to edit the dunning letter template. They want the TOTAL which is a system variable field be seen also in the start of report
I copied this field from "Field_057," which is the field with the same name in the end of the report, then pasted it in the above area. (because I wanted to show the total due balance of the BP in the middle of the report as well, However, I believe merely copy and pasting in another area does not work. The following error occurs if I try to print the template above:
Printing error:Invalid variable number (RPT-6300)(Field: Field_203) Variable '148' [Message 200-38]
The selected field ("Field_203" is what I believe causes the error when printing because only when I add this field does the error occur).
Can you help how we can have the same data in the start of report.

Newsletter Template / Page set up for print

Hi,
I'm in the process of creating a template for a newsletter, and am not sure how best to start with formating this template so it will be suitable for sending to a printers for a run of about 500 copies each time.
The newsletter will be A4 in size, and will consist of about 12 pages each issue.
Does that mean that I would create an A3 Pages document, and apply 2 pages of the newsletter to this, so it can be folded to create an A4 'book'? Can Pages deal with auto page numbers like this? Or am I pushing it too far?
Or, perhaps, should I just be creating each page on a single A4 page, and the printers will be able to produce the printed newsletter from this?
I know Pages isn't an ellaborate DTP application, but we're using it so it can be easily used by someone in our organisation.
Any advice much appreciated.

Number one rule of commercial printing:
Speak to your printer BEFORE you do anything.
Your printer will tell you what their requirements are.
That almost certainly is not a Pages document and usually is not imposed.
Normally these days it is a pdf file in a format acceptable to the Printer, which is not easy with Pages/OSX.
1. Pages/OSX does not produce pdfs conforming with the PDF/X standard required for commercial offset or digital printing
2. Pages does not have bleeds or crop marks. You will have to construct those in oversize sheets (add an extra 10mm all round to do this)
3. Pages does not have slugs to aid the printer in accurately positioning and controlling the printed sheets, you can add your own or find prebuilt pdfs or leave it to the Printer's imposition software to add.
4. Pages/OSX does not use spot colors if you need those, but will let you add pdf elements that contain spot colors. This will produce more than the standard 4 cmyk plates, but not less.
5. Pages/OSX reduce all transparency (other than vector) to an unacceptably low 72dpi when converting to pdf. This affects 3D graphs, shadows, reflections, Alpha Masks and bitmaps marked with less than 100% opacity or overlapping objects which have less than 100% opacity.
6. Pages does not manage either resolution or cmyk well. Although this can be overcome with a great deal of manual work, it is very easy to miss exceptions and make mistakes because Pages does not flag problems nor allow systematic use of named accurate color samples/profiles.
A great many of the problems are due to the way has Pages been written but many others are due to what Apple has done/not done with OSX. There is other low cost software such as Swift Publisher which overcomes most (but not all) of the problems either internally or countering those in OSX.
The usual tools of the trade that do deliver accurate Print ready PDFs are Adobe Indesign and Quark Xpress. Both are expensive and require knowledge and skill to achieve accurate results.
It is normal to vet a pdf file through a program like Acrobat Pro to check for errors so that you can correct them before go to the very expensive press run.
There is only one low cost easy to use software that I currently know of that truly delivers on accurate commercial printing, that is Serif PagePlus X7 and unfortunately that is not available for OSX, but you can use it on a Mac running Windows in emulation.

Unfortunately I have had a good look at what he has written and, whilst he means well, he is that most dangerous, but popular, of advisors, one who knows a little bit more than those who know nothing. He tells the innocent user what they would like to hear, not what they need to know.
