Template must be in the forms directory

i uploaded a word document to site assets, and took the url and went to the shared documents, advanced settings for shared documents, then tried to change the template url to the one in site assets, i get this error :
Invalid template URL.
The template must exist in the Forms directory of this document library. Create the template in the Forms directory, and then re-type the Web address. Note that you cannot move or copy a template into the Forms directory.

it specified same steps: to go to site assets upload a document, then go to my library advanced settings, and put the url for the document in site assets. are they wrong?
You and I both experience different behavior than what the book states. Books are just written by regular folks. I found that out when I was invited to be the tech editor of a book (doing that now) and then the author of a book. THat's when
I realized that although these books are written by people who live and breathe SharePoint, they are still normal people, and it's possible to make a mistake even with a tech editor. The book could still be right, but it's not working for either of us,
so it makes me think a step is missing. The book may have been written and edited before RTM. I know we've been working on our book since before RTM and several of the chapters were done while in Beta or RC.
Anyway, the error is very clear, and the behavior is consistent with the error. Unless I allow for management of content types, this particular method does not work. Are you sure they didn't allow for management of content types earlier in the
chapter? One of the 4 methods you gave referred to content types, so I wouldn't be surprised if the doc lib they used for testing was already allowing for mgmt of content types, and they were using the default Document content type. I could be
wrong, but that's the behavior I'm seeing.

Why rmiregistry & Server must start in the same directory.

I have 2 servers & one rmiregisty for both. I want to start this servers separetely from different directories.
But if I try to start server from the directory other than where I've already started rmiregistry the server doesn't bind.

Are you sure the classpath when rmiregistry is started includes jar/directories where rmiregistry can find your server stubs ???
rmiregistry does not need your implementation, but it needs your stubs to be able to register your server objects ...

Unable to submit any item in the form library through InfoPath form

I had created a form and link to a form library, but when i click on new document it show me this dialog box with URL
ms-infopath:nft|u|.....|s|......
and then it open InfoPath form after submitting it does't not insert any value in the Form library.
In my case
1.I want to remove ms-infopath:nft|u|.....|s|......
2. Form should open in web browser.

Please take steps as below:
Create a Form using SharePoint Form Library template.
After customizing the form , click File ->Publish -> SharePoint Server -> save the form -> in the Publishing Wizard page input your site URL -> provide your authentication account.
Check “Enable this form to be filled out by using a browser” and Form Library.
Select your Form Library and edit the Form Library field , then Publish it and you will get what you want.

I want to view the results in the form template, rather than in rows and columns, I can print them as .pdf but want to view them online

If this is the form and   100 people entered it I would like to go to form template and click forward arrow to go thru all 100, so I can review all of the results

You can download the PDF that you are wanting to look at. In safari if there is a link to a pdf you can usually Control Click or Right Click and select to save it to the desktop. From there, you can open the PDF with Acrobat.
If i'm not mistaken, though, PDF's will default to Apple Preview, so if you want PDFs to open with Acrobat by default, you can set it that way by highlighting a PDF then hitting (Apple) I. In the Info pane, expand the "Open With" field, set the program to Acrobat, then tell it to Change All if you want all PDFs to default to Acrobat.

The data source "....." referenced in the form template is not valid or cannot be found

I have an InfoPath 2013 form that uses an external data connection. The data connection became corrupt (somehow, no one knows who changed what). A user went in to InfoPath designer and created a new data connection and changed all references
to use that new data connection. Now the form cannot be published at all with the error
"The data source "GetUserProfileByName" referenced in the form template is not valid or cannot be found"
The new data source they created is GetUserProfileByName2 and changed all references.
Of course, since it is broke, they asked me to see if I can find the issue. I went through the form looking to see if they missed any references to the old data connection and can't find anything.
Where is InfoPath storing the old data connection information and where can I remote it? I looked in the manifest and don't see it there either.
Any thoughts?

Hi Bob,
There are many XML schema files for the data connection, I recommend to check if the references to the XML files have been changed to the new schema files in the manifest file.
For example, if we create a data connection called GetUserProfileByName, then there will be one XML file and three XML schema files for the data connection.
Please make sure that all the references are updated in the manifest file.

How do I create a form field ONLY template in Acrobat 9 Pro that will let the user enter and print only the form field data on a pre-printed form?

This template will be used to type in information that will then be printed on an agency's official, barcoded form loaded in a printer (instead of blank paper.) Only the user-entered info should print on the pre-printed form. Users will use Adobe Reader to complete their templates; they do not have Acrobat. Thank you!

Can anyone help me here? I've tried re-downloading the patch, doing it with another patch etc but always the same. I am uploading the zip file to the server and unzipping using "unzip p....".

There seems to be couple of reasons for this:
-This problem indicates that the patch is not extracted properly.
The patch was unzipped on a pc and transferred over to the server box.
The problem can also occur if the downloaded patch is corrupted .
-Opatch was not run from the correct patch directory. Once the patch is unzipped, the patch is then stored in the following example location:
\patches\p123456_9042_WINNT\123456\123456
Make sure that the patch location has write permissions to the user that is performing the patching.

I have developed a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat Pro. The form has several fields and some of the information is captured in a bar code. What programs must be used to open the form to properly fill the form out? Adobe Reader, Adobe Xi, Ibook, etc.. I

I have created a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat Pro that contains several data fields with some feeding data to a barcode in the document. I have a "button" set up to save and send the completed form one it is completed. Some of the user are having troubles filling out the form as they are using various programs to do such as iBook, Adobe Reader, etc.... Sometimes the information is not transferred to the barcode and sometimes the "submittal button" doesn't function properly.
Please provide a solution or give me a list of the programs that must be used to properly open and fill out the form.

Best option is to use Adobe Reader (or Acrobat, of course) on a desktop computer (ie, not on a mobile device). Any other configuration is likely to be problematic.

Ascii to PDF using word or PDF template and then converting the pdf to a PDF form

We are planning to restructure the whole PDF generation process in our application.. We use ASCII files to provide the data feed..Is it possible to create PDF files out of them with a pre defined Template and then to make that PDF editable with some form fields.. ??Is PDF generator capable of handling this or should we be looking for some other livecycle product..?? Kindly help us in this regard..

The Process goes like this:
ASCII file for data feed ----> template file -----> PDF file with form fields generated.. ---> Reader extention rights given to the Form fields for the end users to save the forms using Adobe reader..

Unable to display Info path form using IE , The form cannot be displayed in the browser because the use of DOM storage has been disabled in the current browser settings. In order to load the form, DOM storage must be allowed.

I have edited the default edit form for my Issue Tracking Tool using Info Path, But currently when I try accessing the form using IE 10 64x , I got the following error-
“The form cannot be displayed in the browser because the use of DOM storage has been disabled in the current browser settings. In order to load the form, DOM storage must be allowed.”
But using Firefox I was able to access the edit form , so can anyone advice on this please?

Clear DOM Storage in Firefox:

I'm using the project used in the "TechEd OSP309 Session" to integrate CRM 2011 with SharePoint 2010.
I successfully made the integration. I can create external lists in SharePoint, execute de CRUD operations and submit them to CRM. Also the entities relations are shown with the entity picker, this works 100%.
What i'm trying to do now is edit the form with InfoPath. The only thing I'm doing is opening the form in InfoPath, and publish it to SharePoint.
The problem occurs when trying to edit a item with the new form. I receive the folowing error:
"The form template failed to load. (User: XXXX, Form Name: Template, IP: , Request:XXX, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:entity:-AutoGen-XXX, Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: IAssociation could not be found using criteria
'Name=XXX'.
IAssociation could not be found using criteria 'Name=XXX'.). "
Any suggestion? What is causing this problem? This only happens in entities with reference to other entities.

When trying to view the InfoPath form for the a SharePoint list (on PWA), we are getting the error:

The form worked perfectly fine for several days and then started throwing this error.
Since this started happening, it can now be reproduced in other lists using a custom InfoPath form, but only seems to occur when editing the item, not adding a new one.
Steps:
1. Create a custom list on PWA.
2. Customize the form in InfoPath.
3. Add a new item via the form (on PWA, not in InfoPath filler).
4. Edit the item and the error occurs.

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

I'm not sure iBA reacts well to this type of editing, not to mention the cumbersome nature of trying to bring everything together in general.
I'd suggest a workflow where one book is handed off, instead. That, or, let the individuals involved create their basic content in Pages, then when ready, use iBA's Insert Pages Chapters menu to string them together. Best to work in a linear fashion and avoid adding/removing/adding/moving portions, etc.
If you must have separate authors, be sure to use the identical template and have them all properly trained up before going forward - trying this as a learning experience may result in an off-putting experience otherwise , with more time spent on chasing knots than on expressing writing skills, etc.
