Template won't update in CS5
I've been trying to update a template, but the dialog box won't pop-up and it will not update manually. I've updated the template once before and it worked. I didn't build the website, and am still pretty new to DW. I also get this error: Templates\Templates\menu_vfq7081i2y.php - error occurred - An error occurred - cannot put menu_vfq7081i2y.php. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I'm still a little confused. Here is the code for our standard template: standard.dwt. Does this answer your directive questions? Should I be editing the menu in this file rather than the menu.php? MurraySummers

I have had this problem for a while and finally opted to post
for an answer.
I updated Dreamweaver from 3.0 to 8... however there is an

Changes to Template Won't Update Corresponding HTML Files
I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 and when I make changes to a template and save, it not longer updates all pages associated with that template. The first time this happened, I deleted the file cache and that took care of the problem. When I tried that again, it didn't work. I also tried deleting the Configuration folder. I'm really hoping to find a fix for this because I have over 3,000 pages that need to be updated. Please help!

"Update Template Files: Update all files based on this template?"
Here's the message that I am getting:
"You have changed a template. Do you want to update all documents in your local site that use this template?"I am not making changes in the editable region that I expect to be made across the pages - I am making changes to where the editable regions lie within the template. In 99.9% of the cases, the changes were made to the non-editable regions.
Unfortunately, I don't get to control how many pages are managed under one template. I am managing a departent's worth of pages for a university - this includes templates individual to each department division. Some division's have an outrageous number of pages associated with them - mostly for legal purposes. But none of that matters. What matters is that the pages are not updating as they should be. Do you have anything to add about that? -
Template won't update child pages
I have a website and my client wanted to add a sentence on all pages. I updated the template, when it asked to "update all" It 'updated successfully'. I haven't had a problem up to this point. It is in a template object so I can't update each page individually.
I had done a couple of things, added a sentence and changed the rollover color on the links. When I open the individual pages the rollover color updated but the sentence is not there.
When I click on the template in the Assets panel, it shows it correctly.
I am using CS5. I have also tried the site>advanced>recreate site cache. I have shut down everything and tried again, still doesn't work.The website is http://rcottonlawpc.com, in the template (which sows correctly in the assets panel) after the "areas of practice" it is supposed to say "click on your area of need". I had typed that in just before I changed the hover over links to change color, so they would be aged at the same time. The hover links work, but the test doesn't show up on the individual pages in the code, just in the template.

I have been using this template all year, yesterday it wont update any pages using the template. I have not changed the location of the template, have not renamed it, have not changed any editable regions. Done the Site>Advanced>Recreate site cache thing and nothing is working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me crazy.

Camera raw won't update for Creative Suite CS5 for windows 7
Hello,
After a recent hardware meltdown I have recently reinstalled my CS5 Creative Suite onto a new machine (running windows 7).
For some reason the Adobe Application manager won't update. I keep getting the same error message and getting redirected to redownload the Application manager. I have done this several times and keep getting the same error. I have also tried rebooting numerous times and also installing the updates manually from the Adobe website. Neither have worked
Specifically, I need to update camera raw as I now cant read any of the .ORF files that I have.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Template "main.dwt" won't update template pages
Hi there,
I'm super new to dreamweaver and I'm having a problem at the minute with the template. I've got my pages, etc, but I need to apply my logo image in the header sector and also an anchor link at the bottom and top of the main content body. So, my biggest problem really is that when I click the line, which highlight's the header, and make it into a "New Editable Region" and name it, like, "banner_image" or whatever and put my banner in there, and then click "Save All"; nothing happens.
I mean, it's worked before but I don't understand why it won't update my other pages into editable regions so I can add the banner to all pages. I would've tried to add it in manually, but stupid me, I realised that the headers weren't editable, still.
And I can't even update anything on the template page, really. I was wondering if there was a solution to this maybe?
I'm using CS4 at college, but I've been coming home at working at it on my laptop (both macs) with CS6.
Please help, I spent around five hours this morning in class pulling out my hair because my div tags were all over the shop. Boo!

Thanks for the quick respones! Honestly, I only used them because we were told to by our lecturer, which now I'm second guessing. Just for clarification, you would use Editable Regions on the child pages (i.e. not the template)? Here's the html

I am making a website for somebody and for now I am looking
at it in a folder on my site. I am having trouble with the template
pages not updating when I make changes to the template. Would it be
because I have a folder named Template in my site and another one
within the folder where the other site is? If so, how can I fix it?

to child -
1. Rename the Templates folder
2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in
the site other
than root level
3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which
will not
propagate)
5. Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server
without also
uploading the changed local files
6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template
and child page
is broken
The latter problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced

Cache, and the five others can be fixed by just not doing
them. Have you

Placeholder text won't disappear + template doesn't update

I'm using the latest iBook author version (2.2) on Yosemite.
I selected a text as a placeholder, but when I type my new text, it doesn't disappear. I've already created many sections using this template and I don't want to recreate them all over...
Also, it seems like the modifications I have made in my template, even though I save them, don't apply, like the template is not updated. I tried to right-click on the template to select "reapply to layout section" but I don't have access to it.

Dreamweaver template won't change images
I am using Dreamweaver 5 on a Macbook Pro and I have been trying to change the Header image in my site. I would go in and change the image using the CSS panel but the image itself will not update. I've tried deleting the old site definitions and recreating them only to have the same problem.
Nothing will change on my template. It won't aknowledge my changed image "i have saved it under the same image name". i've tried changing the name of the image, re-loading it and still THE OLD IMAGE APPEARS!. What the heck is going on? Can someone please tell me where it is getting this image from when I have clearly changed the image, looked at image to confirm it is in fact the changed image prior to attaching it.
I am completely puzzled and Desperate as my client expects these changes. Thank you. In the mean time I will try to just upload the changed image to the web and hope the template uses the updated image on the server.

Where does this image reside in comparison to the root of the site folder (make sure the image gets saved to the site folder)? Is the file path to the image correct? Make sure to turn live view off and back on again?

Content Viewer won't update file on tablet
Hello. My content viewer on my Nexus 7 won't update all the way. What I mean is, the app comes up fine, and I've refreshed/archived it several times. The logo/picture in the content viewer next to the file updates, the viewer number updates, but the file itself is still showing the original version.
Any ideas how I can fix this or what is going on? I'm working on InDesign CS5.5 and just recently installed the Content Viewer on my Nexus 7.I am having the same issue in CS6 Indesign. I try to preview using the desktop viewer and nothing happens, it silently fails.
I have uninstalled Indesign CS6 (including preferences), Uninstalled adobe Air 3.3. Uninstalled the content viewer.
rebooted, reinstalled air rebooted, reinstalled Indesign CS6 rebooted...
And it still doesn't work!
I think it may be to do with AIR rather than InDesign because it goes through the progressbars in InDesign and I have previously a BETA version of AIR that caused an issue else where, even though this is now uninstalled and the latest release of AIR is installed it still is failing to comunicate with AIR.
Any ideas...

so, you'll probably need to use dng converter 7.4 because your cs5 program won't accept a 7.2+ update. but check first because it's not clear what cs5 program you're trying to use. -
Updating Flash CS5 Built-In Player, Flex SDK 4.1
QUESTION 1:
I'm trying to update the built-in player of Flash CS5 to the latest 10.1.53.64 version.
I've downloaded and replaced the "Players" folder from this link: http://www.adobe.ca/support/flashplayer/downloads.html. However, when i trace which version Flash CS5 uses when launching from the built-in player, it displays "MAC 10,1,52,14". How can i update this?!
QUESTION 2:
what is the proper way to update the Flex SDK for Flash CS5? after installing the software, i see it's using Flex 4.0, but i want to update it to the current version 4.1. the default install includes $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/libs/11.0/textLayout.swc, but i removed that and simply placed the Flex 4.1 version of textLayout.swc in the $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/libs folder, but how can i perminantly remove the reference to $(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/libs/11.0/textLayout.swc?
i've search for information on updating libraries, .swc files, etc. for Flash but it's not clear. links containing clear, up-to-date instructions on how to properly update Flash CS5 would be greatly appreciated.If I had to summarize my problem in ten words :
With Flex 4.5 SDK and AIR 2.6 SDK I can stream dynamic http in the VideoPlayer element, but it won't play on a Samsung TV.
With Flex 4.1 SDK and AIR 2.6 SDK I can launch the app on a Samsung TV, but the VideoPlayer element won't play any dynamic http stream.
I assume this problem comes from OSMF because it is the library supposedly handling the dynamic streaming. I just can't make it work within Flex 4.1 :
If I delete the native osmf.swc and remove it from the Flex Build Path properties, Flash Builder won't compile, claiming there is an error, even if I add other more recent osmf.swc.
If I don't delete it and still add another one, either I get a conflict error or a "not found" error. either way it won't compile. -
Dreamweaver Template files not updating other files
I took over a website and the site uses Dreamweaver Templates. I'm not too familiar with the way that Templates works. Anyway, the nav (links at bottom of website) need to be updated. I updated the secondary.dwt file within the Templates folder. I uploaded it, but it's not updating the pages on the website that use this template file. Please help!
When you update the template from within DW, you should get a dialog asking if you want to update all of the files that use the template. When you click "OK" everything is updated across the site.
If you updated the template outside of the defined site, it won't update anything and you may have a bit of work on your hands.
In DW, you should have a Files tab with a drop down menu. The drop down menu should have all of your defined sites. Choose the site you are working on and a list of the files in that site will appear. Choose the template and make your changes and it will ask if you want to update everything else. -
Document info fields in Word won't update when placed in document header-section
Dear all,
I have a document library using 3 Content Types with metadata columns and a Word-template.
The values of these metadata columns should be displayed within the Word-documents created from content type.
So I've inserted document info fields into the Word-template to display them.
But unfortunately the placeholders are not updated when opening the document again, after metadata values had been changed e.g. by using the edit-form within the list.
From what I have seen so far, this only refers to document info fields resident in header or footer sections.
But this is where I need to place them.
Does anybody know this issue and has an idea of how to fix it?
Could VBA be of use here?
