Terminal Will not resize

I somehow resized terminal so small that it will not let me resize it to make it bigger now...
I have written some apple scripts to set the size of the window to something like 400x400 px but nothing works.
Check out this link to really see what the problem is.

Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

You need to enable the Monaco font unless you've changed the Terminal's font, in which case that font needs to be enabled.

  • Terminal will not terminate after Yosemite upgrade

When attempting to close Terminal, or when attempting to logout or shutdown, the Terminal will not terminate, but displays the following dialog: "Do you want to close this window? Closing this window will terminate the running processes: ."  Also, the red "close" icon shows a dot instead of an "x" inside, indicating the running process.  However there is NO running process (that I started) other than the terminal's own Bash shell.
PS indicates only 3 user terminal processes, each the root Bash process running on the terminal:
    $ ps
      PID TTY           TIME CMD
    2816 ttys000    0:00.02 -bash
    2817 ttys001    0:00.01 -bash
    2818 ttys002    0:00.01 -bash
ps -ef shows no child processes (other than the ps and grep processes:
    $ ps -ef | grep 2816
      501  2816  2813   0 10:58AM ttys000    0:00.02 -bash

      501  2869  2816   0 11:05AM ttys000    0:00.00 grep 2816
This behavior occurs no matter if I quit Terminal and restart it or any other combination of options.
This behavior is new with Yosemite.  Version 10.10 is installed on a late 2009 iMac.

  • Components will not resize correctly in Catalyst

    Download PSD: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/814249/campusariel.psd
    Download FXP: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/814249/campusariel.fxp
I am completely new to Flash Catalyst (any and all versions). I am currently using Photoshop CS5.5 to design and Catalyst 5.5 to import and translate into a flash project. I recently picked up a job creating an interactive application for a college campus. I have attached my two project files for anyone who can help to view to see what is wrong. I have also attached inline screenies for those who cannot/will not download.
Here is my problem: I created the attached PSD in Photoshop with what I thought were the correct layers and groups/folders. I am hoping to achieve the following effect: when a user rolls over the purple buttons, multiple similar copies of that button that are initially hidden beneath the visible one popup in sequence above the rolled over purple button.
    Ex. State 1:
    Animation/Action Sequence to the following:
The purple popup objects will have their own text content and will be buttons themselves that a user clicks to change to a different state with more specific information.
Not only am I unsure of how to create such animation/action sequence, my purple components (whether I actually convert them to components in Catalyst or not) will not resize correctly. NOTE: I did click the resizable option when importing the PSD into Catalyst. The following effect occurs both ways. I add constraints to all objects by selecting all, right clicking, and choosing add constraints to all; the following occurs when stretched inwards using the resize test handle:
    and this when stretched out:
When viewed using CTRL+Enter, the application is nowhere near resized in the browser window. I must be missing something, especially being new to Catalyst. I tried flattening the image in Photoshop, which obviously allowed the image to be easily resizable in Catalyst and the test browser window. However, I cannot use my separate elements when flattened; flattening defeats the purpose of Catalyst if I'm not mistaken.
    Any guidance?

Hi Martin - Those are really good questions! I did check and the image is uploaded. I assume I can see the image in my one browser because of the cache  since I could not see it on several computers that I had never pulled the site up on before.
And actually I have it working now. Nancy had a good idea to check to see if I saved it as CMYK instead of RGB. When I went to go open the file on my computer Photoshop and Fireworks had an error in opening it. They had a problem opening the one I downloaded from the ftp too. It just looks like somehow the file became corrupted! Not sure how, but that seems like what the problem was since I have a new image up there now and it's working fine again.
    Thanks for all your help!

  • Calendar app is not viewable. The window will not resize. Can only see header of the app. Have restarted app and computer.

This is all I can see. it will not resize the window, full screen mode shows only this as well.

It really seems like a group policy issue, something like network security, and have you tried to re-map the drives, test the restult again.
you should post you question in this forum

  • The properties menu will not resize

I am new to Captivate; most familiar with Lectora.   I am attempting to customize buttons using saved images; however, the properties panel will not resize prohibiting me from selecting the ‘browse’ key.  I have tried resetting the workspace, undocking the properties panel, closing the document and reopening.  I am running out of options.  Any assistance will be more than appreciated.

    Welcome,
Sighing, the Properties panel cannot be resized beyond a certain maximum. Apparently there is some long label name somewhere, probably with your custom image buttons. Why not fill a shape with an image and use that as a button? Just a personal remark, since CP6 I never use custom image buttons anymore.
Since you already retried resetting workspace, another workspace, here is the only workaround I know that will increase the width of that panel: drag it to the docking station at the bottom (with the Timeline) and it will resize to the width of that station. Even making it floating will not succeed in making it wider.

if you go in through the photos app and send your image to be wallpaper you'll have a bit more luck.
Also, go into the settings, accessibility and try turning off parallax motion.

Easier solution - press the Option key whilst clicking on the green resize button - one to change to mini-player, then again to resize to a size that fits the screen properly.

  • Photoshop will not resize images

As of today, PSE will not resize images for me.  I typically use PSE for this function and am familiar with it.
I thought it might have been the windows update that occurred last night, so I restored my system earlier, but it does not help.  I still can't resize images.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

    Operating system?
    PSE version?
What are the exact steps you're doing?
What are the details of what's happening when you try?

  • Some Panels will not Resize

Working on Windows XP SP2, IDCS3. A friend's paragraph panel and one other panel will not resize. All other panels function normally.
    We tried:
    - Resetting her preferences
    - Resetting her panels
    - Closing and reopening the particular 2 panels
    - Moving the panels to different parts of the screen (docked, undocked)
    No luck. Any ideas?

    Hit http://www.pixentral.com.
Read the directions. When the image you upload is processed and displayed, scroll down below it and copy ALL of the code in the box next to "HTML". (Ignore the "Forum" code box)
Paste that copied code into a message here. It will generate and display a thumbnail; clicking on the thumbnail takes you to the full size image you uploaded.

  • Today pane will not resize

I've just installed TB 24.4.0, Lightening 2.6.4 and Provider for Google Calendar 0.25
Win 8.1 64-bit (I use desktop 99.9999% of the time)
Dell XPS 18, 8gb RAM, C: has 363 GB Free
What is happening is on the mail tab the "today pane" always uses 1/2 the window. I can not resize it.
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90621425/Mail%20tab.png
also when I'm on the Add-ons tab
On the calendar tab it acts normal:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/90621425/calendar%20tab.png
as well as the tasks tab
you will also notice the x to close it and the "today pane" button at the bottom of TB don't display either.
It seemed to work until I installed "Google Tasks Sync", I removed that plug-in and nothing has changed. Has anyone seen this before?
Love the visual upgrade to this mail client, I've been using WLM 2012 forever, but its having issues with Google Play emails. Add to that its possible to have outlook.com accounts in TB and the calendar and this client is head and shoulders above.
I'll surely donate once I can keep the today pane displayed (in a reasonable size) on the mail tab.

    * Make sure ThunderBird is closed before proceeding.
    * Locate '''localstore.rdf''' file from your TB profile folder (default Windows: ''C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\{randomletters}.default\'' ).
    * Open it in a text editor: I like [http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download Notepad++ ].
    * Find and edit the line to look like the one below: (modewidths and width; probably have crazy values)
    <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://messenger/content/messenger.xul#today-pane-panel"
    collapsedinmodes=","
    modewidths="200,200,200"
    width="200" />''
    * Save the file and open TB.

4630 Officejet When I press copy and scroll to resize and fit to page.
    When I press OK......NOTHING HAPPENS.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @3784Hike ,
I read your post and I am looking for some clarification as to what the issue is with your Officejet 4630 before I "assume", which we all know could be a bad thing!
When you try to resize your copies and then press copy, is the page printing out not resized, or is the page not printing out at all when you try to copy?
Can you print from your computer at all to the printer?
Are you seeing any error messages?
In the meantime, try a power reset and try resizing and copying again, to see if that helps. Also check for a firmware update - Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.

  • HT4103 Terminal will not accept typing or pasting after it asks for password.

After enterin sudo command, terminal asks for password. After that it will not accept typing in password, I type and nothing appears. If I try to paste in password nothing happens.

The password is never echoed (Displayed) into the teminal window. So after you type the password in hit the enter key or just let it work for the command you entered. When it is finished doing what you ask it to do with whatever command you typed in the normal prompt will return.

Could you somehow have two Terminal apps in your system, an old PPC version in Applications and perhaps the correct version in Utilities?
    /Applications/Terminal.app/Contents/MacOS/Terminal
    Version: 1.5.1 (133-1
    Code Type: PPC (Translated)
    Rosetta Version: 22.27
These lines seem to indicate that Rosetta is running a PPC version of Terminal, v1.5, that is located in HD>Applications.
Snow Leopard's Terminal should be an Intel app, and it normally resides in HD>Applications>Utilities. A GetInfo on my own Terminal.app there shows kind: Application (Intel), Version is 2.1.1

  • Window will not resize

My application window will not change size to fit on the screen! I am at max resolution, i deleted finder and desktop .plist; it is so elongated that i can not get to the triangle. I hit the + button and i will widen by just a hair. i can only view 4 apps and there are no scroll buttons. Were is this preferance stored at?? i have ran out of ideas.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have the same problem only I am using Windows XP. I just upgraded Firefox to the latest upgrade. Size problem just occurred today and can't fix it or find a solution yet.

  • My terminal will not "ping" to a certain address

In my terminal window with command prompts I cannot get it to "ping" to another computer's network.  It use to be able to "ping", but ever since the new update it has stopped working. It will "ping" to 192.164.20.1.....but not to a single digit# like 192.164.1.1
VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, Apple Support has no clue why it won't work either.  I have tried restoring my computer back to a differnt date when it had been working, but for some reason my computer freezes up after restoring for hours on end and I then have to totally reinstall Mac OS X.
    Makes no sense whatsoever.
    Anyone?.....anyone?
You see, I know it is not the computer on the other end because my husband has a VAIO and it is still able to "ping" with no problem.  It's a Mac thing that just has to do with the network support.

Sounds like you may be trying to update iTunes, not your iPhone.  To update your iPhone see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414 (under Updating your iOS Device).
