Text contains formatting - cannot be displayed

Hi,
During sales order creation, when we try to maintain one of the header texts, system displays a message, "Text is formatted -> Details".
Long text shows "You have formatted the text in a way that cannot be displayed by Text Edit Control."
This text is not being copied from any source; it is maintained manually during sales order creation. Configuration of text types, assignment to procedure and its determination seems to be fine.
In debug mode, we observed that the field 'thead-tdtexttype' gets value 'DOC' and this is what causes the above message.
Can someone suggest how formatting type is relevant to text and where can we make those settings in the config.

You can maintain the text format for text ids in transaction SE75.

Hi everyone!
In my service desk transaction monitor, when i click on one particular transaction (this problem doesnt exist with other transactions), it opens up flagging a message "Text contains formatting (see detail screen)". [Message no. COM_TEXT202]. The performance assisstant states that "The text contains formatting that cannot be displayed in Text Edit Control."
Can anyone please tell me why is this message getting displayed? And what should be done so that it doesn't appear?

OBIEE11g maps Some map formatting cannot be displayed

Hello!
I'm getting this warning when the obiee11g maps showing more than 500 poligons on OBIEE11g:
Warning:
Some map formatting cannot be displayed.
Edit the query to return fewer rows
But i realy need to show about 600 poligons.
Is there a way I can alter this limit?

Actually I found out that this is not a limitation.
There is a parameter in instanceconfig.xml where you can set the maximum number of polygons:
Inside the ServerInstance tag, you must add the following code:

Export to excel issue - date format cannot be displayed properly

Dear all,
When we do a export to excel, if it has date format, we always have problem on displaying it in excel. Some of the date if we change the data format, it will be changed to the correct way. Others will remain the old data format. Any idea?
I've checked the SAP note. It doesn't work. Thank you in advance.

SAP Note:
Click the Excel symbol in the task bar in Business One
Save the file as ".txt"
Open Excel and open the file as a ".txt" (Select in "Files of type" All Files (,))
In the Text Import Wizard Select "Delimited" and for "Start import at row" 1.
Click "Next"
In the Text Import Wizard - Step 2, select 'tab' in "Delimiters", for "Text qualifier:" choose ""
Click "Next"
In the Text Import Wizard - Step 3, highlight the Date column and in "Column data format" check the radio button Date in the drop down menu beside Date you can set the date format you require
Click "Finish"

On the change mode, go to item text , double click on the text space, and go to change editor to edit the text

Why do pages that consist solely of a jpg or png result in the message that the image cannot be displayed because it contains errors?

Whenever I click on URL links to pages that consist solely of a jpeg or png, I get a text-only message 'the image cannot be displayed because it contains errors'. Yet if I copy the same URL and try it in IE, the image displays just fine. This has been happening for some time, thru several upgrades of Firefox.

That is the default text that Firefox displays on a tab. 
As soon as the image has loaded then that text is replaced by the image.
If you keep seeing that text then something is blocking images.

I have an email sent to my company exchange 2003 account with pdf attachments. When I open the email on my Ipad, I can view the the pdf files but when I move to another email message and then go back to the email message with the pdf files the following message appears:
"Message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted, Ask the sender to send it again using a differnet format or email program. text/plain."
When I moved the email message to another folder and can view the attached pdf files. However when I read another email message and go back to the email with the pdf files and the error message again.
I have no problems with the pdf files on my outlook PC client. Any suggestion to resolve this issue would be helpful.

I too get this irritating problem, or one very like it on both my iPad and iPod Touch. I have several mail accounts on different services, the main being BT. Incoming messages that I want to keep I move to the Sent folder (for want of anywhere better). The content of some messages is then replaced by the "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted etc" text, some but by no means all. If I move the message back to the Inbox the text miraculously reappears. This is not because it is being reloaded from the server as the text reappears even if the message has been deleted on the server.
Any thoughts on this peculiar behaviour?

Diagnosis
The values of the selected asset cannot be displayed. Text elements are missing in logon language EN.
System response
Processing is terminated.
Procedure
First, check if you are logged on in a language that is maintained for this system.
This error can also occur, if the company code of the selected asset is assigned to a chart of depreciation that is not fully maintained.
In many cases, the problem can be corrected by re-importing the missing texts from the reference chart of depreciation. You can do this using repair program RACORR14. Refer to SAP note 0773639 for more information.

Is anyone experienced with the following error when displaying image from DMP 4305G as local or remote url?
Imge File:///tmp/ftproot/usb_1/.... cannot be displayed because it contains errors .
Imge Jpeg/gif file displaying fine but after warning message .
Is there any workout solution to avoide this warning message display?

I am receiving the error
The image [imagename] cannot be displayed, because it
contains errors.
when trying to view an image in firefox that was uploaded via
CFFILE. IE returns a broken image. This is happening on 2 seperate
sites. I can download the images and open them locally and
everything seems to be fine. Many other images have also been
uploaded to the same sites using cffile with no rpobelm.
Can anyone shed any light on this or has anyone had the same
experience?

Why does text on certain portions of websites, usually when adjacent text contains special characters, become jumbled into seemingly random sets of characters that are not in any way jumbled when viewing the source of the webpage? How can I fix this?

When viewing most text on most websites, it displays properly. However, there are two instances where text will either tend to, or consistently, become jumbled into a mess of seemingly random characters. Oddly enough, these seemingly random characters are not, in fact, random. The same weird character will be used to replace the same regular English text character consistently across the entire area that has been jumbled.
The two instances where this tends to occur most often, or consistently in some cases, are, first, when a paragraph or particular section of formatted text contains special characters, such as Chinese or Japanese characters, or accented letters. When this happens, usually the paragraph that contains the special characters is completely jumbled, while the rest of the text on the page will have intermittent jumbling on a word or two. Most often, the word "the" is jumbled in this case.
The second instance where this happens is when a website uses specially formatted text in some form or another. I, not being an expert at web development, am not sure what kind of formatting causes it, but I can provide consistent examples in lieu of my experience:
- Example 1:

Example 1 shows a portion of a screen-shot of the website "Joystiq.com". Every single article title on the front page of this blog is consistently jumbled, while the text of the article itself remains untouched. Please note that when this jumbled text is highlighted, it is visible un-jumbled in the right-click menu as well as in the source code of the page. Other consistent instances can be found within many search fields on various websites. For instance, the search bar located at the top right of "Kotaku.com" consistently displays jumbled characters both on its default text of "Search" and on any text that is typed into the search box itself.
- Example 2:

Example 2 shows both the jumbling of the paragraph containing the character "☆" as well as the subsequent peppering of the rest of the article's text with small jumbled words. Below this is the DOM Source of the selected text which shows how the text itself is being rendered properly within the site's source. Additionally, for convenience, I have edited on to the bottom of the image a small snippet of what the search bar on the same page looks like. Notice how the grayed-out text that normally would read "Search" is instead jumbled.
This issue has been plaguing my browser for the past year or so, and I had hoped that it would go away with subsequent Firefox updates. It has not gone away.

This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.
Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.
You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.
Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.
There have also been fonts with a Chinese name reported that identify themselves as Helvetica, so check that as well.
Use this test to see if the Helvetica font is causing it (Copy & Paste the code in the location bar and press Enter):

You should reset the network.http prefs that show user set on the about:config page. 
Not all websites support http pipelining and if they do not then you can have issues with images or other problems.

Error message as TEXT is Formatted

Dear All,
Issue is regarding the Text determination.
As I have created a text id, at sales document header level, assigned to procedure n access sequence too.
while creating the sales order, while entering a particular text, the text field is grayed out and message pops up as TEXT IS FORMATTED -> DETAILS. Aa I am unable to enter the text for this particualr ID.
I/p will be of great help n rewarded too.

That should not be the problem for u for entering the text, u can still enter the text by clicking on detail icon or double-clicking(not double clicking on text id but on free space where u enter text for text id) to go to the text editor.
but reason why u cannot straight away enter text on that screen it self is .....go to tocde SE75..select first radio button and click on display.........scroll down for object VBBK...double click on VBBK...in new screen u can see that for ur text id, some format is assigned (third column)..
i guess u should not be bothered by this, but incase u r..u remove that format by going in change mode if u have autharization

This item cannot be displayed in the reading pane

Hello all. I've bene scowering the net trying to find a solution to this problem for over a month now and every solution I have found doesn't work. Here's the low down.
It only happens on this client and not other outlook clients. Meaning the same person could open his email on another system and the views are fine. OWA is also fine. I'm pretty confident its not Exchange but Outlook on this system. I get
two messages.
When receiving emails from a specific address that sends emails with audio attachements (shoretel's voicemail to email) the user gets "this item cannot be displayed in the reading pane" There is no active content in these emails. They are plain
text. Next, when he sends a meeting invite to a specific person or receives an email from a specific person he gets "This item contains active content that cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane". Here's what I've done so far.
I've deleted and reinstalled Outlook 2010 (pro plus)
I've deleted his profile and rebuilt it. I've deleted the profile from the registry and reinstalled outlook 2010.
I've disabled all pluggins.
I've cleared the forms cache and made sure the forms view matches someones that's working.
and of course, rebooted. I've found fixes for different versions of outlook but nothing I have found has worked. Short of backing up to PST, nuking his mailbox, rebuilding it, and importing the PST i'm at a loss. I don't think I need to
get that drastic if on another machine and on OWA it works fine. Anyone have a clue as to what I could try?

Hi This is what worked for me:
Just to clarify in my case, any email that had a form attached, when I tried to open it, the actual email body was just blank.
I also realised I couldn't create new forms, I could see all the preloaded ones but couldn't open.
So this is the advise I followed:
Clearing the forms cache
The first thing you should try is clearing the forms cache. This will make sure that, in the case of using a custom form, the latest published version of your custom forms gets loaded again. In the case that you just uninstalled an application that was using
a custom form, it will purge this cached form and Outlook will try to load the original message form.
To clear the cache;
Outlook 2007 and previous
Tools-> Options…-> tab Other-> button Advanced Options…-> button Custom Forms…-> button Manage Forms…-> button Clear Cache
Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013
File-> section Options-> section Advanced-> group Developers-> button Custom Forms…-> button Manage Forms…-> button Clear Cache
It worked when I went back to previous email the attachment looked like it had gone, double clicked and it took a while to open as it needed to load new forms.
Do this before rebuilding or deleting a mailbox. Also try SP2 if need be.
