Text Elements in Web Template

Hello.
In my web template I wish to display the Variable Values and also the last time the query was changed (MODTIME) + ROLLUPTIME...
This seems to be tricky, because if I check the SHOW_VARIABLES option, and include MODTIME and ROLLUPTIME as general text elements in the List of Text Elements for the item, only MODTIME and ROLLUPTIME are shown.
Is it possible to show <b>the Variable Values and MODTIME and ROLLUPTIME</b> in the same Text Elements web Item?

Yes, this does not seem to work. Though to overcome this you could do the following
In the 'List of Text Elements', select 'Element Type' as 'Filter value' and specify the technical name of the infoobject on which the variable has been defined, as the element ID.
This shows the values of the entered variables. But maybe SAP should correct the original bug and an OSS might help.

Hi Experts,
I created a report at WAD ,while exporting it to excel all the web items got exported except for the text written on the web-template.
Is it possible to export the text written on web-template to excel???
Also i dont want to add the text-item.

To download such characteres you need to adjust code page to be used during export. You can review SAP note 73606 to identify which code page is required for this language

Text upload in Web Template variable selection screen

Hi all,
In the Analyzer it is possible to upload text files in the variable selection screen but I can't find this feature in the variable selection screen for Web Templates.
Anyone has an idea ?

it's is not possible with standard.
I read in some sap feature paper that it will come.
Maybe it will be possible with modification, but that's only an idea.

EMail Bursting of Web Template - no Texts are shown!

Dear experts,
on using eMail Bursting for a web template the eMail with the attached PDF is send.
Unfortunately no texts form the Web Template are send - only the query results....
is there a setting where to ensure thatl also texts (Headers and additional information) from the web template is included in the bursted PDF document?

Hi Angie,
By Default,whenever you broadcast(or Export),it will take only the Query Output(which means the Analysis item).So you place a Info Field item,and then assign it to the Data Provider and then Broadcast it.
Now you will get an output with the data along with the Text in the InfoField item.

please clearify my doubt?
what is the differen b/w "last data update" text element (in web report)and "status of data" in the in the report(in analyzer)? Is it same or different?

Last Data Update: This would give the information on ROLLUP time..
Status of Data: Time at which the data of the last request (that could be analyzed for reporting) was posted in the InfoProvider. In the case of MultiProviders, the respective current InfoPackages are determined from the individual standard InfoCubes and the one with the latest date is used for the validity of the data. This shows a date and a time (in the local time zone).

Multiple usage of text-element ROLLUPTIME in web-template

Hi All,
We use a multi-provider for reporting. Underneath the multiprovider we have 3 Infocubes. For a webreport, based on the multi-provider, we would like to report the text-element ROLLUPTIME (Status of data) for the three infocubes seperately.
Is there anyone who has a solution (sourcecode) for this. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for answer, however I think my requirements were not clear.
The text-element 'Status of Data'(ROLLUPTIME) concerns the 'Update Date' of an request in an Infocube.
Text-element 'Status of Data' belongs to text-element block 'GR3TECommon'. Standard this text-element shows the 'Update Date' of the Infocube which was updated first.
However, we would also like to see the 'Update Dates' of the other two Infocubes in one webtemplate.
The result should be 3 different text-elements 'Status of Data'(ROLLUPTIME) for each Infocube.

How to Customize the Web item " Text Elements"in WAD

Hi All,
Can any one let me know how to customize the web item TEXT ELEMENTS. When we place the web item Text element in the web template, it displays the query details and the info provider details.
I question is I do not want to list all the list that is displayed in the text elements. I want to see only part of the list....can any one whether this is possible or not..if possible how...?

Calling query doc. (text file) from a web template with JavaScript

Hi,
I would like to have an explanation of the following:
My goal is to develop a solution within a dynamic web template that supports calling of query documentation (description and purpose of the certain report). This query documentation will be provided from a textfile(e.g .csv) and presented under the information tab applying a text element web item. This will be done with query technical name acting as key with the following column structure:
Technical name Description Purpose
I really would appreciate if anyone could provide me with a more or less detailed solution proposal for this. Javascript etc.?

Web Application: Display attribute in text element

Dear all,
we want to display an display attribute (0RESP_PERS as of 0COSTCENTER) in the header area of an web application. Therefore I tried to use an text element. I'm able to display the cost center itself, but haven't found the opportunity to display the related responsible person.
Any ideas?

I have the same requirement - display the cost center owner (attribute) of a cost center (characteristic) in a web template. I'm using NW2004s with the BI 7.0 front end tools.

Query Variable: F4 search by Text is case sensitive in Web Templates.

Hello Guru's,
I have a problem, when I am trying to search the variables in Web Templates the search by text is case sensitive.
For example If I have the customer name as "King", I have to search the text as King or Ki*, But If I search as king I will not get any results.
I need to have my text search as case insensitive.
When I checked in my BEx queries the search is case insensitive. I have the problem in my Web Templates only. Please let me know do I need to change any variable settings ing the web templates or let me know how do I fix this issue.

Hi,
So the only workaround for this would be to goto RSD1 -> enter info
-object as xxxx, and press maintain, then goto master data/text
tab and select the check box, 'with text', now save and activate the
infoobject. After this regenerate the query using tcode rsrt.
To regenerate goto rsrt enter query name and press 'generate report'
button.
Now the F4 help screen should show the options search by key and search
by text. So that you can select serach by key to have a case insensitive
search.

Language Dependent Text for Web Templates

Hi All,
I have a text item in a Web Template and have used a language dependent text for its caption ( which is stored in a table).
The problem is that if i transport this Templates to an another environment, the language texts are not transported automatically.
Can you please let me know the table where this information of language dependent text is stored. I think I will also have to transport all the entries of the language dependent table.

How to...refresh specific elements (graphs) within a web-template

Dear experts,
I am at the moment developing a warehouse monitoring tool which will display "live" warehouse performance information directly in the warehouse to the operators on a big screen.
We are using different graphs (speedometer, etc...) on one web-template and we want to refresh them automatically in regular intervals (every 1 min). But we do not want to refresh the whole website - but only the specific BW elements within the website.
Is there any way we can do this?

The only way to do a refresh for only an specific part of a Web Application, is using IFRAMES.

You must create another template that only would have the chart that you want to refresh automaticly.
The function for do the automatic refresh is this.

Mail from Web Template : body text

Hello,
i created a button in my web template so that users can send a mail to confirm they have checked this months data. Nothing to fancy about it (not getting dynamicaly the variable values just some fixed text).
This is the code i used:

This works fine.
Now my question : i want to have multiple lines in my body and i can't get thjis working (logic since i don't know much of HTML ). Anybody any suggestions?

Hi Tom,
One small change whatever you are writing in
Value="....."
This Text will come on Button.
So as explained earlier if you want more text on button you can do that.
If you want more text in body than I think simply you can use
<FORM action="mailto:[email protected]     ?subject=I have checked and approve the data for this month      &body=Best regards \n Tom"
i.e. use "\n".

Display system fields on web templates

Is there any way to display system fields like SY-DATUM, SY-TZONE, etc. on a web template?
I am talking about the fields NOT provided as general text elements (ROLLUPTIME, REPTXTLG, etc) in the text element web item.

Display technical name of a query in a web template ?

Hi,
I try to display in a basic web template the technical name of my query with a web item. In this order, I have tried to use the web item 'Text Elements' but how could I configure the latter in order to have only the technical name ?
I have selected 'Display General Text Elements' in properties of the web item.
In the property 'List of Text Elements', what is the couple of values that I have to configure ?

Hi,
What you need to do is, keep a TEXT Web Item in the template.
Then do not tick any of the options under Specific. Instead, go to List of Text Elements. In the first column, select General Text Symbol. In the next column type REPTNAME.
This will give the technical name of the query in the output.
Common text elements:
u2212 technical name of the query (REPTNAME)
u2212 description of the query (REPTXTLG)
u2212 InfoProvider (INFOCUBE)
u2212 key date for the query (SRDATE)
u2212 accuracy of the data (date and time) (ROLLUPTIME)
u2212 the person who wrote the query (AUTHOR)
u2212 the last time the query was changed (date and time)
(MODTIME)
u2212 the last person to make changes to the query (MODUSER)
u2212 current user (SYUSER)
u2212 the last time the query was refreshed (date and time)
(SYUZEIT)
