Text in a shape doesn't line up, is it a bug?

I created a triangular shape, and then double-clicked to add text within that shape. The strange things is some of the text (generally along the 45 degrees angle) is either slightly above or below the baseline of the text (see image below). Anyone know if this is just a bug or is there something I can do to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated otherwise I'll be forced to use Adobe's Indesign which is overkill for this project. Thanks in advance.
Ps. I'm using the latest Pages v4.3 (1048) and OSX 10.8.4.

Have you experimented with changing the text around to see if this is truely a localised effect?
We can't see the overall shape to see what is going on.
I'd love to see the original file (click on my blue name and email me) to check whether this actually a bug or merely a consequence of the Design/Layout.

You can set the pref layout.spellcheckDefault to 2 on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

Metronome BPM Doesn't Line Up

The metronome on Logic Express 8 is completely off for me. If I import anything at a given tempo, and set the computer metronome to the same tempo, it doesn't line up. For example, I downloaded the Radiohead "Reckoner" remix stems, which listed the BPM at 103.4. I changed Logic's metronome to match, and within about 10 measures it was off by almost a full beat. Any advice on how to fix this?

Secondly, the whole page is just a sliced up image. If Search
Engine
placement is going to be important to you the page isn't
going to do very
well as there is no actual 'text' on the page for the spiders
to 'feed on'.
You should be slicing up that original image and then
building the page in
Dreamweaver itself, not letting a graphics program slice the
image and
exporting the html that it generates. It generates a very
fragile and
inflexible layout.

Captivate 8: adding text to a shape

when I add text to a smart shape, the text stays really close to the lines of the smart shape. It looks awful. Is there any way to format this or prevent it?

Will try to translate Rod's instructions to Captivate 8 that has no longer a Format accordion at all.
Go to the Style tab for that shape, scroll down and you'll find the Margins part between the Character and the Shadow part.
Beware if you are creating a responsive project: Margins are not responsive! That means that you'll have to edit the margins for each breakpoint.

It seems you may be trying to make a timeline. There are timeline tools out there that may be better for your particular task than Numbers.

Numbers has no object like a textbox or line that takes input from a cell of a table. You can make suggestions to Apple using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"

Getting the text and the shape to play at the same time in Keynote '08

Searched FAQ without any luck. I put text into a shape. When 'played' however, the text comes in on first click, and shape on the second click. I would like both to enter slide simultaneously. How can I accomplish this ??

Hi Fred,
There are two ways to achieve this. Firstly you can group the two objects and they will then appear at that same time once you select a build for the group.
You can use the Build inspector to do the same. Once you've chosen the build for the two objects click on the More Options button at the bottom. Select one of the objects (most likley listed as 'Text' and 'Shape' and chose from the Start Build sub menu 'Automatically with build X' where build X is the number of the build of the first object.

How do you select text behind a shape in Pages 5.0?

I created a document in Pages 4.x in which I used rectangle outline shapes to create nice custom borders both for the page itself and for some contents in the body of document. (I've used text boxes before, but for this particular document the shapes worked much better and allowed for a look I couldn't achieve with text boxes.) Unfortunately, since updating to Pages 5.0, I can no longer select text within the shape spaces. In order to select and/or edit that text, I either have to delete the shapes first, or move them so that I can click inside the body of the document, and then use the arrows to get to the text I need to edit. This is very time-consuming. Is there an easier way to select text in the body of the document without having to move/delete the overlapping shape? This was easy to do in Pages 4.

Making the Shape or Text Box a Section Master will put it behind the text without having to delete or move it.
Arrange > Section Masters > Move Object to Section Master
and
Arrange > Section Masters > Move Object to Page

Text does not move to next line

at the end of each line of text the cursor is returning to the start of the same line. The text is then writting over the original. by "over" I mean you can see the original text underneath the new.
this also occurs in text boxes.
i would start a new doc but I have spent many hours on this one (10 page brochure)

Welcome to Apple discussions.
It sounds like your line spacing is a bit wacky. Put your cursor in one of the bad lines, then click on the Text inspector > Text. I'm guessing your line spacing is set to less than 1, so that at the end of the first line, the second line overlaps.

as the window resizes the UIcontrols are also resized if wrapping is enabled and they will be in same row.
as u mentioned they are two containers in root container but appears one by one do as below
for root container
set layout - grid layout
colcount - 2
for 1st child container
set layout -grid layout
set colspan - 1
as u requre 3 Ui control in it
set colcount of child container to 3
add the UI controls
set the colspan of UI controls to 1.
do as same for second container

Are you sure you have the right printer?
In UNIX/OSX printers are virtual links to devices and even with the same name can be trying to reach a printer via another network address, so it thinks it is another printer.

You can do that using line feed.
Implement the following code.
data: lv_constant type string value 'CRM ORDER'.
data: lv_constant1 type string.
data: lv_constant1 type string.
split lv_constant at ' ' into lv_constant1 lv_constant2.
CLASS cl_abap_char_utilities DEFINITION LOAD.
lv_linefeed = CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF.
clear lv_constant.
concatenate lv_constant1 lv_linefeed lv_constant2 into lv_constant.

Placing text inside curved shape

i am having bit trouble placing the text inside this custom shape (i used custom shape tool)
I followed one of the post found here Fitting text inside a custom shape but i couldn't get any results at all. Would someone maybe try to give me exact instructions on how to do this please.
I would like to place this text inside yellow shape and text should follow the curved path of the shape.

It's easier to apply the flag warp to both the Type and Shape layers at the same time, so start with your text, and create the shape layer below it. Select both layers, and right click and choose Convert to Smart Object. Then Free Transform > Warp

You can send and receive Messages from the Apple IDs and phone numbers signed in to your iMessage section in the settings of your phone. We have an article that explains a little bit about this, and it can be found here:

You can change the address that new iMessage conversations are started with in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start new conversations from:. Note that this setting applies only to new conversations. If you would like to change the address from which messages are sent, first change this setting, and then delete the existing conversation and start a new one.
iMessage responses will be sent from the address the recipient most recently messaged. For example, a friend sends you a message to your Apple ID. Responses in this conversation will be sent from your Apple ID, even if you've selected new conversations to start from your phone number.

Putting text in a shape vs in a text box on top of a shape

I want to put text in a shape (eg a rectangle). You can put text directly in the shape, or you can put text in a text box on top of the shape. I am interested in the pros and cons of these two methods.
It seems to me that putting it directly in the shape is better (if you are going to fill the shape with text). I don't see that using a text box adds any functionality.
Any thoughts?

Put the text directly into the shape. Anyway, putting a text box into a shape does not work, I don't think. You can place shapes within shapes, but not text boxes.
