Text message edit bug and price

Anyone else going nuts trying to text with this phone? For one thing with the stock keyboard it only types in portrait mode even when it should be in landscape. Then it locks up and you can't backspace! No fix yet! Its been a problem since I paid 330 bucks for this phone in like November! (I metion the price I paid because it immediately went down to 80 bucks after I paid 4 times that! I want a refund of the difference. )

Thanks for the tip. Ya its already on auto-rotate. Its a bug in the text editor app for sms. Judging from the antenna disconnect problem with the BIONIC still not being fixed even though verizon and Moto knew about it since the day of its release.. I am not holding my breath for a fix for that OR the restart clearing all my apps settings, saved words, wifi auto on locations, etc..
Verizon seems to be the worst when it comes to fixing bugs. Imagine the BIONIC still is a broken phone... Wow! Glad I exchanged it for a phone with less serious forever bugs x(

Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

If she has backed up her iPhone she can replace that iPhone and set up the new iPhone from her backup.
You can put the iPhone that went into water into a plastic baggie with either new silica gel packets (preferred) or raw rice and let it sit for 4 - 5 days. After that time remove the phone and connect it to power for at least a half hour. While it is still connected to power reset it by holding down the power and hold button, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. Might take several tries. If it revives immediately back it up.

Copy that voice memo, create a new email and paste it and send it to yourself! You can save it to your computer now and send it to someone else

OCD with good reason
With a second backup, as you now have, you are well protected. The update makes a backup to use for restoring after the install but with another you should be in great shape.
Just take you time and be patient, these can take a while to complete depending on server load, connection speed, etc.

Text messages from Google and from bank delivered to my Q10 (as T-Mobile confirms) but I can't locate them.

I don't find text messages from Google and from bank on my q10. private sent text messages are delivered normaly. I can also send text messages to myself. Only Googlee & bank TANs are missing. Any ideas?

I'm afraid there isn't any good answer and I don't have a case number. I posted above what I told the customer support rep and she managed to get it working again. You may have to try calling again and see if you can get another rep who has some idea of what the 'aggregator' thing is and how to submit a ticket to get it fixed for your line.

That's weird that these iphones are restored/activated through iTunes. I have a Apple so I have iTunes, yay!! I am guessing that the link that you gave me will tell how to put this iphone into Recovery mode? Now, this old iphone would of been activated on his laptop, which is with him and he is out of state. I have a new Apple, his new iphone would of been activated on our new Apple computer because he was here for Christmas and he didn't bring his laptop with him, or did he bring it with him, I don't remember now.... Now the question is, will I be able to restore his old iphone on my new computer seeing it would of activated on his laptop which is with him out of state. If you are having issues with activating your Apple ID for FaceTime and iMessage, then take a look at the article below to get it sorted out. Make sure that you have the Date and Time set to Automatic as well as any other steps listed in the article.

This happens when you both use the same Apple ID for iMessage. You can continue to share the same ID for pruchasing from the iTunes & App stores, but you should be using a different ID for iMessage. To fix this you have two choices:
On one of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID (so you are both using a different ID for iMessage); or
On both phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at". Also uncheck anyone else's phone number, if present.

IPhone not showing contacts names in text messaging after sync AND reset

Three days ago, I bought the iPhone 4S as an updgrade from the 3GS. I also transferred my wireless service plan from AT&T to Verizon. Since doing that, very strange things are happening. For example, my contacts appeared to transfer without a problem, but whenever I attempt a call to a number that does not have a "1" stored in front of it, it tells me that I am attempting a long-distance or international call and the call won't go thru unless I place a 1 in front of the number and store it that way. Also, whenever I send text messages and someone replies, their message comes back to my phone under the phone number only and not the name that is stored in my contacts. This happens even when the contact sends a direct message to me that is not a reply. (Imagine all the "Merry Christmas" messages I received yesterday that I have no idea who they were from, except the 5 out of 300 contacts whose numbers I have memorized!!) I have gone to the Apple Store and the "Genius" there reset my phone, which temporarily fixed the problem, but now it is back. I did a soft reset, now it randomly selects which names will show up in my text message window. (For example, yesterday, the name "Jane" shows a message that says "Merry Christmas", but after the reset, only Jane's number shows up in the text screen with the same message from yesterday.)
Does anyone know what in the world is going on?? This is Very Annoying! I'm tempted to go back to AT&T, as I am being told that the iphone technology, even for 4S, is not as compatible on Verizon as it is with AT&T. Please help!

Not sure about the random contact name problem. I suspect a bad database. Use iTunes to delete and replace your contacts with a good list. If that doesn't work, do a 100% software reset and don't restore a backup, setup as a new device. Finally, if that fails go back to the apple store. The issue is not software fixable and the unit should be replaced.
The other issue with 1 dialing required... are you roaming? Disable wifi, should say Verizon 3G in the status bar.
When you are off your home area cell network, you are not dealing with Verizon directly.
Edit: your last question about using a Verizon 4S on AT&T's network. You are correct, out of the box the Verizon 4S is locked to only work on Verizon's network. The AT&T 4S and Sprint 4S have the same locks. You can purchase an unlocked iPhone directly from apple. I've also heard of people convincing Sprint customer service to unlock their phones for use out of the country,

I can send an audio file via text message... I can send a picture via text message but for the life of me I CANNOT figure out how to send a pic with audio via text message and it's driving me crazy!

It order to send a picture and sound in the same message, once you have entered the Create Message step, you choose Insert Slideshow instead of Picture. When you insert a slideshow, you will have the ability to add both a picture and sound file in the same message.

After installing IOS6 on my iphone 4 and my daughters iphone 4s we have this wonderful connection that we would like to break. We are now seeing/receiving each others text messages. I love my daughter but I don't really want to get all of her text messages from her friends and I don't really want to read every response she sends. Additionally, she can also see my text messages and there are times I really don't need for her to know everything that I am doing.
So It is time to cut the cord we need our own seperate texting. I am not sure what we did to have this happen but how do we undo it?

Get your Apple ID sort out.
Only use the same Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Stores to share purchases, no where else.

I accidentally deleted important text messages between me and a friend I really need these back and i need help trying to find a way i haven't synced my iPhone to the computer since 2013

I need these deleted text messages, they are very important. I have been up all night trying to recover these lost text messages but no matter how many times I try I can't get them. I haven't synced my device to itunes since sometime in 2013 and my icloud isn't working and doesn't say that it backs up text messaging. I'm out of ways to get my deleted text message. It's very important that i get it back. It can stop a lot of problems that I am having.

If you have not made a backup of the device while the text messages were on the device, then there is nothing that you can do. If you have created a backup of the device with the messages on there, then you can restore to that backup. The iCloud backup does backup SMS, so if you did make one, then they would be there. Otherwise, you are out of luck.

Correction: How will I know when a SMS or MMS text message has been received and opened when the person I'm texting has an Android phone ? My last phone was Android and had a setting that notified me when my sent texts were received by someone. Just got my iPhone about a week ago. Totally different.

All of the photos in my text messages have disappeared and been replaced with a question mark image. Where did they go?

I updated my ios two or three weeks ago, but suddenly beginning this morning all of the photos in my text messages have disappeared. They have been replaced with question mark placeholders. I can't access any videos/photos that either I have sent or others have sent to me. I did nothing to instigate this change (no software updates, etc.) and have already tried resetting my phone multiple times.

I have the same condition on my iPhone only. I also have an iPad, a Macbook Air and an iMac that share the same iCloud account. Messages with photos seem to work fine on all devices except my iPhone. All of a sudden all the photos in my iPhone message streams have disappeared and been replace by question mark placeholders. I rebooted all devices, shut down messages, and rebooted, restarted, with no luck. Very bizarre and extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?
